I didn't bother to watch the "60 Minutes" interview with Mitt and Barack last night, because I had some things to do before my date on the boardwalk with Nucky. Besides, I expected it to be the usual talking points and controlled spin from two professional candidates and politicians. (Nothing to see here folks; let's move along until the debates.)
But then Mitt, like the gift that just keeps on giving, apparently made some revealing comments about himself and his philosophy of governing:
"On 60 Minutes last night, Mitt Romney told Scott Pelley he does too have a solution to the problem of America's millions of uninsured citizens: Send them to the emergency room.
'Well, we do provide care for people who don't have insurance,' Romney said. 'If someone has a heart attack, they don't sit in their apartment and die.["Apartment"? As Chris Matthews pointed out earlier; that line is telling.] We pick them up in an ambulance, and take them to the hospital, and give them care.'
The saddest part is the Romney knows this isn't a viable solution to the health care crisis. After all, he said so himself on numerous occasions.
The Huffington Post quotes a Morning Joe interview from two years ago in which Romney said it 'doesn't make a lot of sense' to have millions of uninsured Americans who get 'entirely free care' with 'no responsibility' from emergency rooms, especially when those people 'have sufficient means to pay their own way.'
And in his book, No Apology, Romney recalls the 'collective epiphany' that lead to the creation of Romneycare: 'The people in Massachusetts who didn't have health insurance were, in fact, already receiving health care
He continues:
'Under federal law, hospitals had to stabilize and treat people who arrived at their emergency rooms with acute conditions. And our state's hospitals were offering even more assistance than the federal government required. That meant that someone was already paying for the cost of treating people who didn't have health insurance. If we could get our hands on that money, and therefore redirect it to help the uninsured buy insurance instead and obtain treatment in the way that the vast majority of individuals did — before acute conditions developed — the cost of insuring everyone in the state might not be as expensive as I had feared.'''
That's the ticket Mitt: wait until those citizens have a medical emergency and start dropping like flies before they have access to affordable medical care.
Field, great post. You continue to make Romney look bad. But trashing Romney doesn't minimize, or relieve Obama from his rotten treatment of Blacks.
ReplyDeleteActually, I am quite surprised that a FIELD NEGRO like YOU hasn't spoken up about that. I mean, don't FIELD NEGROES 'tell it like it is'? Guess not.

It is heartening to read so many comments here by our folks regarding how Obama has treated us...which like SHIT.
As I have said many times before, it is depressing to be Black in America. However, the 'root' of black depression comes from a out and out betrayal by our own kind, and that is the truth.
Obama's behavior toward us is classic "HN" behavior that doesn't give a shit what we Negroes think. Well, I think he just might regret his treatment of us and be in for a BIG surprise when it comes to our vote this November 6. I am hoping there is STILL some "Black Pride and Self-worth" left in our race--to the extent we just cannot pull that lever for a man who has treated us like shit. I am praying for that.
I pray that we will not vote for a man who insults, degrades and ignores us."
The most depressing aspect about the Black Community and Obama relationship is that THERE IS NONE. This never-not-going-anywhere-relationship, is like being in a highly painful dysfunctional relationship-- where one loves the 'other'(Obama) but the other no feelings whatsoever for them(Blacks). AAs have long since been rejected by Obama. Anybody can see that. Yet, some Negroes like PilotX, Field, and Granny stand 'ready' and 'willing' "without reservation" to vote fpr a sitting President who has shown contempt and condescension toward us.
Obama is a BLACK PRESIDENT who won't even deign to meet with ANY of our organizations, yet he claims to President of ALL the people.... I guess he just doesn't have the time to 'fit' us in his schedule because other groups have priority.
Besides, haven't the Democrats taken our votes for granted anyway? And WHY shouldn't they? No matter how they piss on us, we are 'there' for them. Sounds like a slave-master relationship to me.
Being Black is pretty damn depressing. We aren't valued at all.
depressed Negro
FYI: If re-elected Obama may change Social Security. Another possible nail in the coffin of AAs. So what's new?

ReplyDeletePlease elaborate how Romney would be better for blah America. Thanks.
Good post Field, we're just spinning our wheels until we get universal health care in this country which will improve the nation's overall health and save money.
The death of our ambassador, the attack on our embassy, the death of three other Americans, the hoisting of the black al Qaeda flag over four U.S. embassies, and demonstrations all over the Middle East all the way to Indonesia including a burning in effigy of Obama in Sri Lanka of all places is just a bump in the road.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if Romney would be better for us. I am not God, just a devoted Christian who believes in the Good Book.
However, right now I do know this: Obama has treated us as unimportant...worthless. And, I have no intentions of voting for him.
Many of Field's posts is about Romney's shortcomings, but NOT A WORD about Obama. That sucks, and yes, it depresses me that there are Blacks like YOU and him who are promoting a bm who doesn't give a flying fuck about us.
So instead of using Romney's shortcomings as a distraction, let's "open our eyes" and look at Obama's shortcomings for a change:
Let's talk about his condescending and insulting attitude toward Blacks.
Let's talk about WHY he didn't show up for the NAACP but Romney did.
Let's talk about how he continues to support, and acknowledge LGBT, gay marriage, Hispanics, Asians-- but "ignores" us as if we don't exist.
Let's talk about how even Ann Coulter, a die-hard Republican, has spoken up for us more than Obama ever will.
Afterwards, THEN maybe we can talk about WHO will be best for BLACKS. Right now I wouldn't vote for Obama if my life depended on it because more of us are unemployed and dying under his Administration than ANY other American President.
Now that is so profoundly depressing.
depressed Negro
PilotX, "Also incorrect, the prez met with the Urban League, an organization started by an Alpha BTW."

The Urban League? Do they still exist? Isn't it funny that the MSM kept it pretty quiet? However, we DO KNOW that Obama has refused to talk to NAACP, and other black organizations. He DID talk to the CBC but got irritated basically insulted the hell out of them.
At least, Romney showed respect while at the NAACP, and to Blacks...which is more than Obama has done.
And who cares if the Urban League was founded by an Alpha? Is that suppose to give it more credibility? GET REAL...
He should spend ten hours in the circle of hell that is the ER at University Hospital in Newark NJ. I did. I had to. I have health insurance. While I was there an emaciated crackhead who didn't know she was pregnant gave birth to a preemie. & people were going to that madhouse for ailments that should have been taken to a doctor or mediclinic. There's no preventive care at an ER. The ER is the most wasteful, most expensive place to offer medical services that don't require an ER. Taxpayers pay for this care whether it's at the ER or a private doctor's office. The doctor's office is much more more economical.
ReplyDeletePilotX, by the way you are managing your denials by looking away from Obama's character defects and attitude toward Blacks, indicates that you are a very depressed-living-in-hell- bm in America. Hell, you can't even say Black. You have to say "Blah". I guess you call your people "blah" because some white man called us that. It's always nice to call us names that a Republican intended offend, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI know a depressed Negro when I see one. It is hard to find an AA who is not depressed-- in America.

Depressed Negro, I think the reason you are depressed is that you have identity issues. You are confused about your skin colour. The line about Coulter gave the game away.

Mr Field,
ReplyDeleteDr. Sam Wang of the Princeton Election Consortium establishes that if the election were held today, there is a 74% chance that the Dems would retake the House, as well as hold the Senate. Of course, Romney is statistical toast.

Well, here is something new. With the MSM and liberal Academia being untrustworthy a new site was developed to show poll data "unskewed"
Romney up by 7.8. How could he not be, the worst economy since the depression, a president who refuses to admit terrorists attacks, aligns with Muslims against America and calls Terrorists attacks against them "bumps in the road"

Have you worked out what Sex buttercup is yet? Is it top hole or bottom hole for you?
Why is a faggy brit so interested in the US? Are you afraid Romney might get elected and stop it from descending into the cesspool that Britain has become?
Why is Obummer chatting with the "girls" on the view while Hillary is meeting with world leaders? Is this a joke? Is he a president or a chick?
ReplyDeleteI guess it's the same thing as campaigning and partying when ambassadors gets killed and Muslims raise flags over our embassies. He hasn't done a thing in months, I say over a year. Perpetual campaigning.

ReplyDeleteI am sure you would know. After all, you are an expert on confusion.
btw, depressed Negro has been here for sometime. If you still think he is not Black, then it is YOU who has identity issues about being Black.
But it's understandable. Aren't you married to ww who is Republican?
As far as Ann Coulter is concerned, she seems to be the only one standing up for the civil rights of Blacks at this time. I am sure there are some Blacks who appreciate what Ann has said even though she is a passionate Republican.
Not all Blah people are in agreement about obama's policies or wether we will vote for him or not.

Thank you, Anon. It does my heart good as a bm to know that I am not alone. You help to validate what I have felt, seen, and experienced about Obama, which has NOT been good. He is a brother who can't be trusted by Blacks or Whites.... ESPECIALLY FOR BLACKS.
"Speak the Truth, and shame the devil!" I love it.
My depression is lifting. Thank you.
Of course, PilotX will probably show up with his tommin reasons to vote for Obama.
"All skin folks are not our kin folks."
depressed Negro(no longer depressed unless PilotX and Granny shows up. Field, PLEASE ban those HNs from FN...PLEASE...I'm begging you.)
Depressed Negro... I always try to counter balance the overt Obama shilling on this blog... Its one thing to want to vote for him , but be honest in your commentary regarding his practices... Sure Romney is a Corporate Raider.... a politician completely removed from the ordinary folks, but obama isnt a Saint either....
ReplyDeleteIve been trying to come up with a name instead of Anon... So I will now be called Frustrated Negro...
Depressed You are not alone....
"Let's talk about WHY he didn't show up for the NAACP but Romney did."
ReplyDeleteYou know damned well why Romney went to the NAACP. He used them and bragged about being booed. You're new at this game aren't you? Bless your Christian heart pretending to be a blah person. Yeah right, the one who supports the brotha is the Tom, Ha!
Obama is from Chicago and here it's all about winning. He knows it's a losing hand to appear to show preference to blah people so he doesn't. You tell me what's better, show preference and then get trounced by a guy who really doesn't give a damn about us or cool your heals until after November? Hell, Romney belonged to a religion that didn't even think I was fully human until 1976. Maybe you depressed conservatives make up your feeble minds, is he a militant blah who defends the NBBP with Rev. Wright or is he ignoring us? It's hard to keep up which he is.
Even Reagan went to the NAACP convention and we all know what he thought of us.
Frustrated Negro said, "Depressed You are not alone...."
ReplyDeleteThank you, I really needed to hear that. I like your name. It's 'perfect' for a blog full of lying Obama FN Negroes.
I too want to know the truth about BOTH candidates so that I can make an informed conscious decision.
Most FN posters here seem to be in profound denial about Obama because he is Black. Yes, he is Black. But he is an untrustworthy Black who has shown a condescending attitude toward Blacks. IMO, that is the worst kind of human being, a Black person who cares NOTHING about his own. We ALL know that type. It turns my stomach.
Romney certainly has his stuff too. But he has 'yet' to show a blatant disregard and contempt for us because of our race like Obama has.
Oh sure, Romney said a few things that got him booed, but at least he showed up and didn't tell us to shut up and march...at least Romney is "trying" to relate. IMO, that is an admirable quality....which is a quality 'lacking' in Obama when it comes to relating to our folks. Obama has shown that he is UNWILLING to connect with us, or even try vs Romney who is WILLING.
I still 'might' not vote for Romney. However, I am 'pretty' sure at this juncture that I WON'T vote for Obama. I could not stand another four years of being treated as if I didn't exist.
It is VERY IMPORTANT to me as an AA to feel that my President cannot- in "good conscious and heart"- ignore and insult me and my race.
President Obama, "I DO EXIST."
PilotX is back and so is my depression.
ReplyDeletePilotX has the same ole dreamy EXCUSES which he thinks are political insights unmatched by anyone else.
Pilotx has justified the 'wrongs' Obama has done to Blacks as the 'right' thing to do. We are ALL familiar with that kind of reasoning...stinking thinking.
PilotX, you are correct WHY Obama did what he did, then how do you figure Obama is worth a shit to us? I mean, if re-elected, he will STILL have to continue to ignore and insult us because Whites just won't stand for it!
So WHY waste your precious vote for bm who is powerless and useless to Blacks? And yes, I know Obama is from Chicago...SO WHAT? He's still the weakest President I have ever seen.
BTW he is NOTHING compared to Harold Washington. Harold NEVER caved in. He was 1000 times stronger and determined than Obama will ever be.
depressed Negro
We knew that we were not getting Nat turner when he was elected... Nobody epected him to take on a Malcom X identity to "RIGHT" all the wrongs done to "Blah" people ...
ReplyDeleteWhat we did expect was to actually have a seat at the table.
Just like the rest of the constiuents.
You wouldve NEVER heard him say " Im not the President for Latino America"
Pressure must be placed on him to MOVE AWAY from the Bipartisanship foolishness he engaged in 09, 10, and 11
"Blah " people should be able to weild that 90% voting support into a weapon of production from Obama.... on the various issues that plague the "Blah" community.
Sure a TON can be done ourselves ,but there are things that our President should be doing as well.
First thing he could do is show some Presidential support for Progressive candidates...NO BLUE DOGS...
Start removing some of these entrenched Blue Dogs off of the various Financial , and Housing committees..... instead of worrying about his own hide in Nov
We could start with Leiberman...If he reaally is serious about making some changes.
Lord, now there is 2 of them. :(

Sorry, no time for work. I am booked on the view, pimp with a gimp, letterman and partying with Jay-z and Beyonce - Just do what I do and blame someone else and above all stay away from any real reporters who might ask you any real questions about the horrible state of things.
"Romney certainly has his stuff too. But he has 'yet' to show a blatant disregard and contempt for us because of our race like Obama has."
ReplyDeleteYou mean like not saying anything while his religion thinks we're not human. Carry on.
"It is VERY IMPORTANT to me as an AA to feel that my President cannot- in "good conscious and heart"- ignore and insult me and my race."
Yeah right, you're a blah person I'm the queen of England.
"I mean, if re-elected, he will STILL have to continue to ignore and insult us because Whites just won't stand for it!"
Uh no, because he will be in his LAST term and doesn't need a coalition to re-elect him. No wonder you're depressed, if I was that intellectually limited I'd be depressed too.
"BTW he is NOTHING compared to Harold Washington. Harold NEVER caved in."
Harold was never president of an entire country. Maybe he would have been but Barack actually did it. He succeeded where Jesse, Al and Herman Cain failed. Can't argue with success.
ReplyDelete"Pilotx has justified the 'wrongs' Obama has done to Blacks as the 'right' thing to do"
Nope, unlike you I think he is the superior candidate and has to act pragmatically to win. Can't do shit as prez if you lose right? No matter I know you're in the tank for the white boy.
I see that the new republicant "polling" ploy, rescoring public polls by double of each poll's margin of error in favor of robme and presenting it as factual data. It seems appropriate for fictional candidate running a fictional campaign on fictional issues;: fictional polls to buck up the fictional morale in the klan base.
ReplyDeleteI'm as certain that this bit of theater will convince everyone who already thought that there was a pro-Obama public polling conspiracy as I am that it'll have no other impact on the electorate.
Yeah Whitey but it will lead to depression in November. Field will have to quit his day job to take care of all of these lost souls.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the NAACP was also founded by an Alpha.
PilotX said, "Nope, unlike you I think he is the superior candidate and has to act pragmatically to win. Can't do shit as prez if you lose right? No matter I know you're in the tank for the white boy."
ReplyDeleteSuperior candidate? There is no such thing. This is about the "right candidate who is going to "do the right thing". And his skin color NO LONGER means anything to me. I went down that road the first time with Obama and it got me and my people shit.
I am sure the LGBT and Hispanics are certain that Obama is the 'right' candidate. I say "right candidate" because he has made it clear that he cares about them, is working for their vote, and has spoken to their interests. Obama has done NONE of that for Blacks.
PilotX, you depress me.
PilotX, "BTW, the NAACP was also founded by an Alpha."
ReplyDeleteWell, that says it all. You have never been to college but have dreamed of 'Crossing the Burning Sands' into Alpha Land. Unfortunately, you aren't smart enough....Omega is more your speed.
You are soooo damn depressing.
Damn, dude called me a Que. Now I'm depressed. Ha!
ReplyDeleteRomney better watch out!!! Obama might add his name to his kill list. You know..the one where Obama has decided he can order the death of any American citizen or non-American without trial or proof of any guilt....
ReplyDeleteThe kill list makes a mockery of due process by circumventing judicial review, and turning the executive into judge, jury and executioner. Even worse, the “signature” strikes described in the Times article, in which nameless individuals are assassinated based merely on patterns of behavior, dispense with any semblance of habeas corpus altogether. According to the Center for Constitutional Rights, signature strikes account for most of the attacks in Pakistan today, and they were recently approved for use in Yemen.
One of the darkest aspects of this story involves the administration’s method of counting civilian casualties: The CIA simply assumes that any military-age male in the vicinity of a terror suspect must be a militant too. Thus, counterterrorism chief John Brennan was able to state with a straight face in August 2011 that not one civilian had perished from US strikes outside Afghanistan and Iraq in more than a year—a declaration that was greeted with incredulity and outrage in Pakistan, where witnesses have attested to hundreds of civilian deaths.
