Texas bullies.

So did you hear the one about the four women in Texas who got stared down by a bunch of gun toting wingnuts?

Besides having the nerve to be opinionated women,  they actually had the nerve to speak out against the all powerful NRA and their knuckle dragging devotees.

"Fresh from the success of cancelling the Million Armed Man March in Washington, DC, gun advocates in Texas found a more appropriate target than a large metropolitan police force: four moms having lunch. Forty armed members of Open Carry Texas (not affiliated with the month of October) staked out the parking lot outside the Dallas Blue Mesa Grill, where four Gyno-Americans were holed up plotting the downfall of the Second Amendment, which the Founding Fathers clearly intended as a bulwark against the Hounding Mothers. This may sound like overkill, but you never know when one of those chicks is going to drop a Porsche on you.

ThinkProgress was first to highlight the incident, which pitted the four members of Moms Demand Action against forty members of Open Carry Texas:
According to a spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action (MDA), the moms were inside the Blue Mesa Grill when members of Open Carry Texas (OCT) — an open carry advocacy group — “pull[ed] up in the parking lot and start[ed] getting guns out of their trunks.” The group then waited in the parking lot for the four MDA members to come out. The spokeswoman said that the restaurant manager did not want to call 911, for fear of “inciting a riot” and waited for the gun advocates to leave. The group moved to a nearby Hooters after approximately two hours.

MDA later released a statement calling OCT “gun bullies” who “disagree[d] with our goal of changing America’s gun laws and policies to protect our children and families.” The statement added that the members and restaurant customers were “terrified by what appeared to be an armed ambush.” A member of OCT responded by tweeting, “I guess I’m a #gunbullies #Comeandtakeit.”
According to USA Today, however, the restaurant manager did call the police:
“We are aware that a group did gather in a shopping area in Arlington Saturday,” Tiara Ellis Richard of the Arlington Police office of communication said in an e-mail to USA TODAY. “Officers were notified and arrived at the location. There were no issues that we are aware of, and no arrests occurred.”
…Chris Barton, the CFO of Blue Mesa Grill, said that the manager called 911 at 11:35 a.m., shortly after the armed group arrived.
“When the manager called, he told them (the police dispatcher) what was going on,” Barton said. “They said that if they are having a peaceful demonstration, they are within their legal rights.”
He said the police did arrive as the group was leaving the restaurant area to walk to a nearby Hooters.
The open carry group insists that it wasn’t trying to intimidate the moms, but simply to peacefully assemble with assault weapons. They also pointed out that while the mainstream media will focus on photos like this one of the group posing for a photo, they want the world to know that they were posing for a photo. Besides repeatedly explaining that their mission is simply to ”condition Texans to feel safe around law-abiding citizens that choose to carry them,” [Source]

Of course they were just there to peacefully assemble. Just a bunch of guys going down to meet four women who have the nerve to speak out against them.
Forget the assault weapons strapped on their shoulders, those women needed some "conditioning". (Digression alert. Can you imagine if that was a bunch of law abiding brothers rolling up on a restaurant like that to make a political point? The SWAT team would have been there faster that Usain Bolt running for a medal.)

Of course, the wingnuts and their friends are saying that the photo you see with this post is deceiving. They have posted their own picture to show how the pose "really" looked, and they are calling this some kind of liberal left wing plot to make them look bad.

They don't need any help to look bad; they do a good job of that all by themselves.

And speaking of bad, check out the comments after the blog post in the wingnut blog that I linked. These people are, in a word, nuts!

But it's not just them; the polititricksters they elect and send to Washington are just as crazy.

I guess now we know why congress has an approval rating of 9%. NINE PERCENT!

I hope that my friends on the right remember that number the next time that they start having multiple orgasms over the president's approval rating which is in the high thirties.

He (Obama) has not exactly been setting the world on fire, either. But hey, you know that old saying: "In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king."

  1. This is a better story about guns and bullies:

A pair of college students in Washington state are facing disciplinary action, including possible expulsion, for using a handgun to prevent an intruder from entering their university-owned apartment.

According to MyFoxSpokane.com, a discipline board at Gonzaga University in Spokane voted Friday to move forward with sanctions against Erik Fagan and Dan McIntosh. The men will learn what their future at the school will hold at a later date.

Fagan and McIntosh were at the off-campus apartment on the night of October 24 when they heard a knock at the door. Fagan answered the door and found himself face-to-face with John Taylor, a convicted felon wanted on an outstanding warrant by Washington State's Department of Corrections. Fagan said Taylor demanded money, and became frustrated when the student refused.

When Taylor attempted to barge into the apartment, Fagan called to McIntosh, who brandished his pistol, the site reported. At that, Taylor left the scene, but was later arrested by Spokane Police after the students filed a report.

McIntosh has a concealed weapons permit for the pistol. However, Gonzaga students may not possess handguns on campus or university-owned property, according to the student handbook. In a statement to KAYU-TV, a university spokesman said the policy was longstanding and had been put in place to reduce the number of threats to the campus.

That'll teach those crackers for not letting me rob them. Racists!

The Obama presidency is over. Those members of his party who do not abandon him will be destroyed in the 2014 elections. The survivors will distance themselves from his failures. He will be the lamest of lame ducks.

Without the protection of his party, his crimes will be investigated. He will be lucky to serve out his term. They will probably let him, because he is black.

By significant margins, voters want lawmakers to implement and fix the law, rather than repeal it. By a 20-point margin, 58 percent to 38 percent, voters say lawmakers should implement and fix the law rather than repeal it. Additionally, intensity favors implementation—38 percent strongly favor implementing the law while 28 percent strongly favor repeal.

Strong opposition to the law has dropped a net 10 points since 2010 —now at 34 percent. This is a totally different context than 2010, when Democrats paid the price for the ACA and Republicans took control of the House [...]
By a 17-point margin (49 to 32), voters say they trust Democrats more than Republicans on implementing the Affordable Care Act. The more Republicans make the period ahead about implementation, the more voters trust Democrats to do a better job in government.

    (source:http://www.democracycorps.com/National-Surveys/38-percent-a-new-national-survey-on-the-aca/)

    **

Americans are showing an increased interest in the Affordable Care Act, despite a flawed rollout of its federal exchange website, Healthcare.gov, according to a new poll by Ipsos/Reuters.

From a poll of nearly 12,000 people in October, Ipsos/Reuters found that 47.1% of respondents viewed the new health care law favorably, compared to 43.8% in September. The trend is even more positive among the uninsured– 44% now support the law, compared to 36.8% in September.

The growing popularity of Obamacare is a good sign for those who feared that the botched rollout of Healthcare.gov could endanger the federal exchange’s overall viability. The White House has acknowledged the need for a high number of enrollees–particularly healthy young people–to keep the costs of premiums low for all.

The Congressional Budget Office estimated in May that 7 million people would sign up for the insurances exchanges in 2014. While that number may prove high, thanks to Healthcare.gov’s problems, the interest seems to be moving in a positive direction.

“The launch of the exchanges, that’s the first real-world event for a lot of people,” Chris Jackson, an Ipsos pollster, said Wednesday. “There’s been this sense that once people got familiar with it, public opinion would start to move in its direction.”

In states that have implemented their own exchanges, support for the law is still higher. The poll found that a majority of respondents from those 14 states view Obamacare favorably. And about 42% of the uninsured in those states said they are “very likely” or “somewhat likely” to buy insurance through the state-run exchanges.

In the 36 remaining states still operating under Healthcare.gov, only four in ten view the law favorably.

While true Dems bow to their corporate masters the GOP bows to their corporate masters, insane religious zealots and racists. Tell me oh so wise one how should I vote? Yes I occasionally vote Green but let me give you the reality in my locale. In Illinois we recently had a close governor's race in which all votes counted. I could have voted Green but then the Repub may have won so why do that? I may disagree with much of what the Dems stand for I disagree with EVERYTHING the gop stands for. So BIB if you are so progressive would you want a Republican governor just so you can say you voted your conscious or one who you can work with on certain levels? To wit, my rep is Danny Davis and he votes the same way I would close to 90% of the time so why not vote for him? He votes for labor's interest 100% of the time. He and I sit down and talk and he supports my union's interests so why not vote for him? Please expand on your well earned knowledge sir, I'm all ears. 60. Also, elections have consequences. Take for example Wisconsin. A Repub was elected governor and folks lost collective barganing rights. In Virginia when a Repub was elected women had invasive and unnecessary medical procedures forced on them and in NC folks are lsing the franchise. Say what you will but the Dems are better for progressive agendas than the gop.

Actually, Field Pilot is losing his mind. No one has lost the right the vote. Or were you talking about a KFC franchise?

Yes, but is the progressive agenda better for blacks?

For the last 50 years, one of the central purposes of American political life has been advancing the African-American community. And over the last four decades, what has happened to the African-American community? I'll tell you one thing - in every major city in America, there's a burnt-out feral ghetto which, 50-years ago, was a thriving black business district. On the other hand, there's a street in that ghetto named for Dr. King. So, there's that.

What the hell is this? A Purple Cow and a Whitey telling me I'm not Black? Why are you messing with me? See, this is why Martin left the Dolphins. It's because of jerks like you two.

For the last time, I am Black....the Lord made me Black and there is nothing you or anyone else can do about it. You folks need Jesus.

Field should put you off FN blog for tomming(PC) and sterotyping(Whitey) people.

Why do you think we're messing with you? You're one of the racist trolls who followed a link here from some storm-sewer to pretend that you're some kind of black tbagger. Well, you're not a black tbagger and we all know it. If you were a black tbagger, you'd be far too busy cashing in on your unicorn like rarity to bother with us.

  65. on the side bar is a pic of brutalized Bethany Arceneaux. i suppose folks didn't quite understand that her armed kin made all the difference? THAT is a great story about guns & bullies.

though it doesn't quite fit with the disarm americans narrative...

"in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king."

yes...i see how the deceivers + deceived might be tempted to believe that lie.

nevertheless, folks globally ARE waking up + seeing clearly. add that it is written that Almighty will NOT be mocked:

    ________________

    UNIVERSAL LAW:

    Galatians 6:7-8

7 Be not deceived; Almighty is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

  66. Well, not exactly true about the Wisconsin economy. NC is closing many voting locations where people of color and students vote thus making it harder for these groups to vote. Virginia governor Bob McDonnell attempted to require women to get vaginal probes. This is typical of Repulicans. I disagree with these policies thusly I don't vote R. Some like this kind of stuff so they do vote R or they're like BIB who votes for 3rd parties and allow R's to win close elections. If that's your agenda then have at it but understand what you're doing.

Ah come on!! We're all just productions of our parents. Once upon a time little innocent kids. Now we're all grown up and bat shit crazy. We all could have been hatched as tarantula spiders. That would definitely have been something to complain about. We're only on this earth for a few days. We need to mind our business and leave each other the hell alone. Take care yourselves, your families and take a damn walk. No one's special. We woke up today, be thankful and thank God. Enough of all this crap!!!!

  68. What amazes me is what would happen in a man to man hand to hand combat fest without guns?

I think that what cave people would be wise to consider is how many Afrikan men take their women and reproduce more Afrikans Are they going to kill them too?

    LOL
