New levels of crazy, and dunces for the confederacy.

There is a serious level of crazy going around in some political circles in America.

We all get the Obama Derangement Syndrome (ODS), heck there was Bush Derangement Syndrome when he was president. Your political enemies are going to dislike you no matter what. And sometimes they will take it to ridiculous levels.

Sometimes, though, it goes beyond ridiculous.

Let's take the example of Debbie Dunnegan Waters, a republican elected official in the state of Missouri. (I am starting to dislike that state more and more.)

"An elected official in Missouri is trying to explain herself after penning a Facebook post that ponders why the military hasn't deposed President Barack Obama in a coup d'etat.

Debbie Dunnegan Waters, a Republican serving as Jefferson County Recorder of Deeds, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch she had "no ill intent toward the president" when she asked why the military hasn't "taken action against our domestic enemy," who she identified as "supposedly the commander in chief."

Okaaay then. A coup right here in America. Why not just impeach the guy?  I mean a coup can be a messy  thing.

Of course, as is to be expected, the wingnut politician soon took to social media to say that she was misunderstood.

"I just wanted to know what oath (the military) took,” Dunnegan told St. Louis Public Radio in a telephone interview. “I'm not calling the president a domestic enemy. I’m not calling the president anything. He is the president. Do I agree with what the president is doing? Absolutely not. Anybody that asks me, I’ll be happy to tell you that.”

Dunnegan also took to Twitter to say her post was being "twisted."

“Something innocent and simple got twisted into a disaster because it’s an election,” Dunnegan told the Post-Dispatch.

"Something innocent", like calling for the violent overthrow of  a democratically elected government.

And this woman was actually elected to public office. I guess they call it "fly over country" for a reason.

Finally, speaking of female republicans in public office. Down in South Carolina the governor of that fine state is defending flying the confederate flag over the state capitol.

"Fun fact: the State House of South Carolina still flies the flag of the failed state known as the Confederate States of America. Though the country was forcibly disbanded in 1865, a fair percentage of the population are still not cool with the flag due to its implications involving that slavery thing.

But one of the people who’s okay with the flag is South Carolina’s Republican Governor Nikki Haley, who defended the flag’s presence during last night’s gubernatorial debate, on the grounds that it hasn’t affected the economy. (The flag is dedicated to the men who served and died for South Carolina during the Civil War.)

“What I can tell you is over the last three-and-a-half years, I spent a lot of my days on the phones with CEOs and recruiting jobs to this state,” Haley said. “I can honestly say I have not had one conversation with a single CEO about the Confederate flag.”

And why is it okay? Because South Carolina solved racism!
“But we really kind of fixed all that when you elected the first Indian-American female governor. When we appointed the first African-American U.S. senator, that sent a huge message.”

But flying that flag is sending a "huge message" as well: That you are cool with enslaving the ancestors of a large percentage of the citizens of your state.

Being an Indian American Haley should be particularly sensitive to this issue, but hey, maybe her peeps were high up in the caste system, so she has no love for the plight of those who were slaves.

Imagine the flag of the Nazi party flying over the state of Brandenburg's capitol, Potsdam.

I know. I can't either.

    Nikki Haley's statement was the most Republican-ish statement ever: CEOs think the Confederate flag is okay, so that proves it's okay.

    A government of the wealthy, by the wealthy, for the wealthy ...

    Or, to put it another way, here's some racism with a healthy dollop of classism frosting on top.

    If only Ms. Water were the only person saying such loopy stuff, I wouldn't be terribly bothered by it. She's got a peon job in county government, so I wouldn't exactly call her a powerful or influential political figure.

    Unfortunately, her entire party has moved their primary residences to Crazytown, U.S.A. You hear wackadoodle statements almost as bad as hers on a regular basis from high-ranking GOPers and their media organs. Just nonstop blather about "Obama the Tyrant," the traitor, the enemy, etc.

    The ravings of this low-level conservative functionary are just symptomatic of the greater madness.

    Uh, no it's not.

    I'm not really hearing all that many folks talking up the benefits of slavery.

    Or are you afraid they are going to dig up those ancestors and re-enslave them?

  5. Ms. Dunnegan raises a great question, why hasn't the military deposed President Barack Obama in a coup d'etat?

    Since the Democrats have invalidated the results of the Presidential elections through massive voter fraud, turning America into a Banana Republic with its own petty dictator, why not turn to the Banana Republic solution of a military coup?

    Let's do this!

    He's probably got one flying over his own house.

    Okay, that was mean and unfair. But Tim Scott, despite being a member of an ethnic minority himself, does seem pretty okay with doing a little race-baiting in order to win over some of his state's more unsavory white citizens. He has a history of advocating for making English the official language (what I'd call a "Speak English, You Dirty Mexicans" law).

    On an unrelated point, there are now two nurses that have been infected with Ebola from the same Dallas hospital that treated the recently deceased Liberian patient, Thomas Eric Duncan.

    Nurses have now been complaining to the media that some of them got sick because they didn't really know what they were doing, because the hospital didn't bother to properly equip or train them to handle Ebola.

    So, Duncan's less-than-stellar treatment probably wasn't because the doctors there don't care about blacks or uninsured people. It's also probably not a sign that there is a sinister, secret bioweapons conspiracy afoot against the black community.

    It now appears the more likely reason why Duncan was initially misdiagnosed is that Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital just flat-out sucks. People of all colors and insurance statuses might want to seriously consider not going there.

    As global civilization stumbles along to a collapse from multiple elements which represent the fruition of our various equality policies, we must reconsider what future we want: do we wish to descend with the rest of the world to third-world status, or rise above and be an example of what steps a civilization must take to evolve? The popular answer will always be to flatter the human individual by declaring that diversity, equality and human rights must take precedence before all else. This however is preference and not reality. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and “wishing does not make it so,” and if our well-meaning help destroys the chances of many for a good life, it is not mercy but cruelty.

    We have gone far enough along this road to see what happens with these policies. Equality leads to a rabid mob out of control, drunk on the power of the vote, which spends money it does not have and destroys the value of its own currency. Diversity leads to ethnic groups in constant enmity with each sure it is being victimized any time it encounters an official of another race. Human rights lead to people behaving irrationally and passing the cost on to society at large, turning social order into a circus and leaving no standard of behavior for future generations. We are creating an apocalypse within our society with these policies.

    If we care about future generations and the legacy we leave behind, it is incumbent upon us to recognize that we must know when to fish and cut bait — and that it is time to cut bait and move on from these centuries-old policies which have failed time and again. Two centuries of equality and 150 years of diversity have left us with alienated, ruined societies and internal paranoia while the criminal get rich and exploit the middle classes. And for what? We have not built Utopia. We have regressed to the conditions our ancestors struggled to escape, and in the name of good intentions, we have imposed those same conditions upon our grandchildren.

    We know who those people are without mentioning who they are.

    Certain groups have had more than their share of chances to excel, but have regressed instead of progressed. And this has happened at all financial and educated levels.

    Look at Obama. He is clearly out of his league. He is the classic example of the "Peter Principle"...incompetent. The job of President is just too much for him.

    For the life of me, I don't know how he became President. Most folks hadn't even heard of Obama until he announced that he was running for President. On top of that, he was/is Black. Even stranger, he won...Amazing!

    http://www.weather.com/news/science/environment/september-2014-warmest-record-nasa-20141014

    Last month was the warmest September in historical temperature records that date back more than 130 years, NASA said Sunday in its monthly global temperature report.

    The global average temperature for September 2014 was 0.77°C (1.38°F) above the 1951-1980 historical average for the month, the agency reported Oct. 12 in its monthly Global Land-Ocean Temperature Index, which shows the temperature anomalies for each month of the year going back to 1880.

    September 2014 marks the second consecutive record-breaking warmest month, as August 2014 also was the warmest such month in NASA's records. May 2014 also was the hottest on record, NOAA said earlier this summer, while four of the five hottest Mays have occurred in the past five years.

    Though temperatures for the rest of the year remain to be seen, this year's record-breaking warmth indicates that 2014 could go down as the world's hottest year on record, according to temperature trends identified by NOAA's National Climatic Data Center.

    Here's some follow-up on what I said at 10:13 yesterday, about the Texas Ebola patient and the inept hospital that treated him.

    One of the nurses, Briana Aguirre, had this to say about her hospital's response on the Today Show:

    “'I can no longer defend my hospital at all,' said Aguirre. 'I believe that they should’ve known that they were not handling this well, this Ebola crisis. They should’ve known that it was getting out of hand. They should’ve called in more help, even to make a public plea and say, "Help us. Help us get the supplies we need. Help us get the nurses the education and training they need, anyone. We’re not handling it well." I watched them violate basic principles of nursing care, of medical care.'

    Aguirre also revealed that other than an optional informational seminar, the hospital had never discussed what protocol would be in the event of seeing a patient with Ebola. 'We never were told what to look for,' she said.

    So there you go. Not racism; the hospital just fucked up. "We never were told what to look for" is the reason that Thomas Eric Duncan was initially sent home with a handful of useless antibiotics.

    As the old saying goes, "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

  55. Climate alarmists like Field want to cut off skeptics from society. Some have even called for imprisoning them.

    This is religious fanaticism.

    The equivalent would be Christians calling for Americans who denied Jesus was their Lord and Savior to be banished or jailed.

    Belief in Global Warming is based on faith, not science. Over the past 25 years, every model developed to show that man-made carbon dioxide will result in measurable warming has failed to predict any real-world results.

    A theory was postulated, and it turned out to be wrong. But too many people were too invested in it to let it go. Many, like grant-needing scientists, need it for their careers. Some, like Al Gore, have amassed fortunes peddling Goldman-Sachs market schemes as environmental solutions. But the main proponent has been those invested in State power, who see the War on Carbon as an infinitely flexible tool to enact whatever laws and regulations and tax revenue streams they need in order to control absolutely everything.

    To do this, they manipulate true believers like Field and PilotX, who demonstrate their piety and goodness in driving Priuses and scolding those who might need an SUV as sinful planet killers. They may have left Christianity behind, but like every human being, they need religion, which they have found in modern liberal 'secularism'.

    This modern descendent of Puritanism can justify the most ruthless kind of tyranny, because, like its forebearer, it is based on What is Good. It's Christianity 3.0, Religion Without God. It even has it's own apocalypse myth of Global Meltdown in retribution for our sins.

    So they sneer at silly Christians as they never question their own myths. They decry religious intolerance as they call for the ostracism of unbelievers. They call themselves free-thinkers as they support ever more restrictions on personal freedoms.

    You a the zealot, Field, the very danger you fear.

  56. "There has been no Global Warming in 18 years, despite CO2 emissions expanding rapidly."

    Except there has. 2014 is on track to be the warmest year on record.

    "The Great Lakes are 6 degrees colder than they were last year at this time. Both the northern and southern ice sheets are expanding."

    Sure, and last winter was one of the coldest in the midwest and we had the most ice ini years on the Great Lakes but it's called GLOBAL warming. As far as northern ice sheets that is a false statement.

    "Except for children and die-hard religious fanatics like you, no one believe in the Global Warming hoax anymore."

    And climate scientists, they understand the planet is warming. See I should know because I actually know climatologist. Most work at the University level so you can't accuse them of being "government" scientists. Nice try though.

    False statement. First off climatologists study real data collected over a long period of time, usually 30 years, to understand trends. While models are useful to get an idea of what future climates and weather will look like everyone understands they are just models. Read the last 30 year climate normals to get an idea of what we're dealing with. Climate science is a very intricate discipline that is the epitome of science, nothing close to religious faith. The data collected either shows what is needed to understand what is happening, no faith needed. Nice try.

    "Arctic sea ice one of lowest on record

    The area of sea ice in the Arctic fell to a summer minimum of around 5.0 million square kilometres this year. This is the sixth lowest extent in the satellite record and reinforces the long-term downward trend in Arctic ice extent, according to leading international scientific and research bodies.

    The findings were released by the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) and the Alfred-Wegener-Institut Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research.

    On September 17, 2014, sea ice extent dropped to 5.02 million square kilometers (1.94 million square miles), according to NSIDC. This appears to have been the lowest extent of the year. In response to the setting sun and falling temperatures, ice extent will now climb through autumn and winter. However, a shift in wind patterns or a period of late season melt could still push the ice extent lower.

    This year’s minimum was 1.61 million square kilometers (622,000 square miles) above the record minimum extent in the satellite era, which occurred on September 16, 2012, and 1.20 million square kilometers (463,000 square miles) below the 1981 to 2010 average minimum.

    The lowest sea ice extent was in 2012, followed by 2007. In both years, weather phenomena led to a particularly large reduction in sea ice. In 2007, a stable high pressure area in early summer resulted in numerous melt pools forming on the ice. They absorbed energy from the sun, which further intensified the melting. In summer 2012, there was exceptional melting on the underside of the ice, and in August that year there was a severe storm, which stirred up the ice. Such extreme weather was largely absent in 2014.

    The long-term decline in Arctic sea ice is the result of climate change, with the Arctic warming about twice as fast as the global average."

    Speaking of recycling, that's pretty much the future for Black run Detroit, a third world cesspool if there ever was one. They're even bulldozing the slums and turning the property into farm land. Amazing what African American can do to property values. That's the kind of recycling that Field is talking about.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In all fairness, this hospital is now being made a scapegoat of sorts, and there are heaps of blame being placed on it.
    BUT, the fact remains, did the CDC jump in and go to the hospital and offer aid,instruction?
    I would imagine they would've been all over this given the severity of this disease! I mean this hospital was left to flounder around on it's own and do the best it could! It clearly was not prepared. They did not have Tyvek suits on hand, or any gear for this type of viral infection.
    It is inexcusable that under these circumstances they did not reach out to the proper agencies, and as a consequence these heroic nurses got sick. But then again, we don't know if they did reach out, that remains to be seen.
    Mr Duncan may he rest in peace,was treated as best as they were able to and knew how under these entirely new and unknown circumstances.
    But heads will roll, because in a situation like this doctors should have admitted him immediately, contrary to whatever the administration saying.
    My thoughts are that we must say a prayer for Mr. Duncan and thank him for coming here. Although sadly he passed away it was not in vain.
    Because of him the country will now hopefully get and be prepared for this.
    Something that should have happened a long time ago, but that's how human nature is.
    " This disease could catch fire and spread geometrically in a short time. We should be concerned. So should you, Mr Field."
    Sorry but that is hysterical bollocks. Ebola is not a particularly virulent disease, it is not as easily spread as the flu virus for instance. It is primarily a disease of poverty. It spreads in those African countries that have the worst financial situation and have the least to spend on public health. Notice how West Africa's two richest nations - Nigeria and Ghana have the disease under control.
    America will see a handful of cases, nobody has ever denied that (especially if your infection control policies are not tightened up) but there is zero chance of exponential Ebola growth in the USA.
    6:23 PM
    -----------------
    Everyone please note what Dr PC, an all-knowing expert has declared that ebola in the USA won't do much. Remember what this Purple nut has said.
    Of course, when reality destroys his theory, he will defend it anyway.
    8:32 PM
    --------------
    Just want to remind everyone that this ebola thing is starting to spread geometrically like a pyramid scheme.
    They now know that the nurse who was infected by Duncan, was on TWO different flights.....more people to track down.
    Meanwhile, some of those people could be infected and God know's how many people they have come in contact with.
    Dear Americans, prepare yourselves and ignore what PC says. He knows nothing.
  79. "Arctic ice trend from 2011-2014 is positive:"
    Which doesn't change the fact that Arctic sea ice levels are well below historical averages and on a downward trend. Also note 2012 was the lowest level of sea ice coverage on record so that statement is incorrect.
    From the WMO
    "The long-term decline in Arctic sea ice is the result of climate change, with the Arctic warming about twice as fast as the global average."
    "Antarctic sea ice:"
    No one is disputing Antarctic sea ice is expanding. None of this changes that fact that 2014 is on track to be the warmest year on record.
