The Field Negro education series continues.
The following essay was written by Maya Rockeymoore for theroot.com.
"Donald Trump, thank you for thinking about us in the black community so much over the past few weeks. It means a lot to know we’ve got a true winner fighting for us on the road to the White House. But listen: You’ve stumbled a few times before, so I want to make sure you’re armed with a foolproof plan for winning over the skeptics among us. Yes, it’s a little late in the game, and yes, it’s going to be an uphill battle, but I’ve condensed your to-do list into three easy steps that will get you the black vote in no time.
Step 1: Take back everything you’ve said about race since you announced your presidential campaign. And ever, actually.
It may come as a surprise, but some of your comments on race have made black folks wonder if you have the slightest clue what it’s like to be a person of color in America in the 21st century. For example: In November you tweeted an image with a number of false “statistics” about homicide rates, including one claiming that blacks had killed 81 percent of white homicide victims in 2015, that came from the fictitious “Crime Statistics Bureau” in San Francisco. That same month, you told Fox & Friends that a Black Lives Matter protester deserved the physical beating he got from your supporters during a rally in Alabama.
Then, in February, you refused to say whether you’d reject the support of David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan, a noted white supremacist and a hate group.
In May you implied that a federal judge could not fairly preside over a case on Trump University because of his Mexican heritage, which House Speaker Paul Ryan called “the textbook definition of a racist comment.”
Now that I’m thinking about it, let’s not limit this to just the past year. Your thinly veiled racist business practices have led to lawsuits by everyone from black casino workers in Indiana to the Justice Department—twice. You’ve openly voiced an opinion that “laziness is a trait in blacks.” You encouraged New York to reinstate the death penalty in order to execute five teenagers of color who were accused—falsely, as it turned out—of raping a woman in Central Park.
Once you’ve taken every single one of those positions back—unequivocally—you’ll be in a great position to launch into the next step. Only two more to go!
Step 2: Speak to some black people.
And I’m not talking about Omarosa. The campaign staff with which you’ve surrounded yourself doesn’t have a good record when it comes to race. And the audiences you’ve chosen to address are overwhelmingly white—even when you first discussed your plan to get black voters on your side in Wisconsin.
By “speak to some black people,” I mean seriously engage with black thought leaders, policymakers and families and incorporate their perspectives and experiences into your platform. Swaying to the music at a black church doesn’t count. Maybe then, black voters will understand that you’re “the least racist person” out there.
So if you really want the black vote, get out there and speak to some black people. You can start with me, which leads to the final step.
Step 3: Adopt a progressive and inclusive policy platform that includes real reforms to reduce inequality and lift up communities of color.
In December I asked you to specify the steps you would take to close this country’s racial wealth gap, in which white households have a median net worth more than 15 times larger than that of black households and more than 13 times that of Latinos. This gap is the result of centuries of second-class citizenship and is perpetuated by the economic and physical exclusion of people of color in every community. It has bred and reinforced segregation in education, housing and opportunity and contributed to a violent culture in which black Americans are more than twice as likely as whites to be killed by the police.
You didn’t answer.
I encourage you to do so now, and to pledge to fight for inclusive policies that will move our society toward the equal-opportunity nation you claim to desire. That means taking bold actions like closing the wage gap, expanding Social Security, preventing the restriction of voting rights and pushing other elected officials to value America’s diversity instead of pushing it aside.
And that’s it. Who knew it would be so easy to court the black vote? Just three steps and I have no doubt you’ll get, as you predicted, “over 95 percent” of us on board in no time. No need to thank me. Just stop trying to plant the false idea that voter fraud—which is largely nonexistent—in majority-black areas is going to cost you the election, and focus on making these last two months count. See you in November!" [Source]

I could add a few more to that, but for now I will just add one: Apologize to the president for your disgusting birther charade.

A black American, just like every other American, will vote on election day for Trump or she won't. A voter wants change or she doesn't. A voter likes Trump's policies or he doesn't. It is just that simple.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why Trump's views on blacks is such a big deal. He has said much worse things about Mexicans and Muslims and women. I guess everything just has to be about black people.
ReplyDeleteIt seems more blacks are jumping on the Trump Train.

Maybe if Hillary wasn't such a shit candidate there would be a better alternative to Trump.
ReplyDeleteseems people missed the point of the article or didnt read it...it's a great article, maybe new commenters, did u tweet it??? thank u keep up the good work....
ReplyDelete"I don't understand why Trump's views on blacks is such a big deal"
ReplyDeleteI can't say that he has any views on blacks at all. If anything, I'd say that the word is 'indifferent' It's probably similar to his views on Armenians or left handed people.
About the only thing I can see that might be construed as anti-black is that he has taken sides in the police vs. black political (and to some extent, real) war that is going on. The ironic thing is that increasingly multicultural societies, not a good thing in my view, will need more and more policing to keep the lid on as we become less like Japan and more like Yugoslavia.
Sure.
DeleteA five year campaign which was highly publicized and funded to deligitimize the first African American president just means that he loves black people.😒

Delete" I guess everything just has to be about black people"
ReplyDeleteIt might be worth considering that it's just baked into the cake. There are numerous psychological studies showing higher self esteem (and oddly, lower self efficacy) in black populations than in white.
The really interesting question is whether it's a cultural thing or some manifestation of a physical difference (on average that is, obviously individuals are all over the map). Luckily, I'd guess that the biological sciences are going forward at a rapid enough clip that it's an answerable question and the whole deal falls out of the hands of the everybody-is-the-same people or the Stormfronters.
I believe that Trump did renounce the false statics and explain that he retweeted something he saw. Him or his staff denounced David Duke and said they don't want his vote. I agree with Trump that the Mexican American judge might not be impartial. A black judge might not be either. How would Trump do in a case where Field was the judge? Maybe the judge can be fair, just like maybe Trump can be fair as a president even though he is a racist. The other points are either valid criticism or things I don't know about. But I think the key to Trump gaining more support from all races is to expose how bad Hillary is. He should site examples and sources for things like Clinton's corruption, Obama and Hillary founding ISIS, and the media lying. This is some truth about how bad the establishment is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8JppJyVxYU
ReplyDeleteWhite boys are pussies and retards.
ReplyDeleteBlacks are too smart for a doofus like Trump and his stupid supporters! Hillary is the leader we want and need!

Black people always think everyone else needs to bow down to them and kiss their ass, just because they are black. Give me a fucking break, you whiny, entitled bitches. And yes, I do mean ENTITLED, because Black Entitlement is definitely a prominent thing in this (once) great country.
ReplyDeletePerhaps America will ultimately become more united because of Trump's efforts at divisiveness.
ReplyDeleteThe white race is a bad joke.

ReplyDeleteYou have got to give this flake credit, Don "The Con," is running the greatest game, ever. "Ponzi and Madoff ain't got nothing on me!"

ReplyDeleteI get the impression the first black president dindu much for black folks.
ReplyDeleteThat can't be true though. He has always stirred the pot when it comes to race. He has pardoned hundreds of black felons. He meets with black terrorist organizations. He excuses or ignores black murderers. His executive actions are too numerous and "deplorable" to list.
This bit is truly funny...
"the economic and physical exclusion of people of color in every community"
Detroit has been run by blacks for 7 decades. Detroit is the perfect example of what you get with blacks running a city. Memphis, Baltimore, Atlanta and many more "communities" have been run by blacks for a long time with similar results.
This educational series ended with failure again.
Hey Field, Bears/Eagles. What's the bet? Cheese steak vs. pizza? Bear down!

ReplyDeletethere
Your racist white posters have some severe mental problems. Too much inbreeding?
ReplyDelete"white Entitlement is definitely a prominent thing in this (once) great country."
ReplyDeleteThis is confusing, when did this "white Entitlement" begin? The narrative is whitey has always had the special mojo, magic dirt, privilege, etc. And it's because of this that America has never been great. In fact, the narrative is that America is horribly racist and has oppressed the whole world from its founding.
Yet, for some reason people from all over the world risk life and limb to gain entrance to this horrible country by any and all means.
You'd think all the people that hate it here would find some place else to live more accommodating to their needs and WANTS.
Instead you stay, even though you hate those damn honkeys.

ReplyDeleteYou're on. :)
Embarrassing - the highest ranking politician in the free world demands and scolds "his" people to vote in block for his legacy! Think people think. You - your legacy is what matters, not a politician's. Not a race, not a religion - you - created equally and individually. God bless you and may God bless this land.

Yeah, starting with all the whites who want to make it great AGAIN as if it isn't great now. Donald Trump. Oregon Pride and all the other whites who sit and complain should take the next boat back to Europe! I agree anon 9:49pm. Good post!
In the '90s, Trump opened Mar-A-Lago, the first golf resort in S. Florida that allowed blacks and Jews. Also in the '90s, Bill and Hillary were apologizing for belonging to all-white Little Rock Country Club. Guess which one the media smears as the world's biggest racist? (And guess which golf club fieldnegro would have an easier time joining?) -CPR
