Mike and Roger's bad day.

If you are a Mike Bloomberg fan I hope you didn't watch the debate last night. It was ugly.

Elizabeth Warren acted like he stole her first born and lit into him from the get go. Imagine spending three hundred million dollars of your own money to qualify to get on the debate stage and to have that experience. Sorry Mike, what happened in Vegas last night will not stay in Vegas. It's time to open that checkbook again.

Bernie seems to have been the big winner. Uncle Joe finally found a pulse (although he started to fade towards the end), and Mayor Peter and Amy just don't seem to like each other.

I actually enjoyed this last debate. Although I must say that this field of candidates aren't exactly knocking me off my feet. (Bring back Kamala). All the national polls have the democratic candidate who survives this primary beating trump, but don't believe it. MAGA cultists always lie to pollsters. They are still ashamed to openly say that they support the guy in polite company. I suspect that trump is up slightly, and if the election was held today, he would probably win the damn thing.

Go easy on me Bernie Bros, I am just calling it like I see it. I love your passion, though. If Bernie does become the democratic nominee I will have lots of popcorn ready for his first debate against trump.

Image result for stone images sentencing    Finally, Roger Stone, trumps right hand man, got a three and a half year prison sentence today.

I guess Bill Barr's attempt to help out one of the gang didn't quite work out as planned. Still, it could have been worse. The original prosecutors on the case were asking for a minimum of seven years. trump whined and complained so hard on twitter that his henchman, Bill Barr, had to step in and  have his crew at the Department of Justice reduce their sentence request.

Folks were yelling "traitor and lock him up" as Stone exited the courthouse.

Don't worry Roger, your boy has your pardon waiting for you. You will be home before you can say white privilege.

"Don't worry Roger, your boy has your pardon waiting for you. You will be home before you can say white privilege."

Trump has pardoned 26 people so far.

Obama pardoned 1,927 people, including Bradley Manning, an Army intelligence analyst convicted of leaking American military and diplomatic information.

Trump's First step act has released 1,051 people from prison so far, 91.3 percent of whom were black. He's all about that white privilege.

  8. PX: That's right, the ODNI briefed congress on intelligence gathered that Russia was again intervening in our presidential election, and this time also in the Democratic primary, and Fergus responded by firing the DNI and deputy DNI and replacing them with an internet troll and a Nunes staffer.

The statute that created the DNI specifies that any candidate for the job should have extensive intelligence experience and Grenell has none.

The Germans were initially ecstatic that the ridiculous creep was getting another job, but this is the Fergus administration we're talking about here, so apparently Grenell is going to be acting DNI while also remaining ambassador to Germany, and maybe one other job as well.

Judge Jackson made it clear that she was sentencing Stone for the crimes he was convicted of by a jury and not who his friends or enemies were or what they might have done to try and influence his sentence.

The poor prosecutor who had to take over presenting the case to her after the previous four prosecutors quit in protest was all "Yes, your honor, I apologize for the dump Barr has taken on the bench in front of you, but the government actually believes you are a fair minded judge and will defer the actual sentencing numbers to the court's judgement, and no I don't want to explain how my signature got on the second sentencing memo or tell you who exactly it was that wrote it or why or upon whose orders."

Betting on whether Fergus would pardon Stone today or tomorrow was giving much better odds on tomorrow, but relying on Fergus for anything important to you has never been a winning proposition.

Uncle seen berating nephew charged in Tessa Majors’ murder in video shown to court

The uncle of a teen charged in Tessa Majors’ murder berated the boy after hearing him confess to being at the scene with two pals and watching one stab the Barnard College freshman, according to video played in court Thursday.

Roosevelt Davis went on a profane tirade against nephew Zyairr Davis, 13, when cops left the interview room in the 26th Precinct station house where the teen spilled his guts.

“Do you see what you f–king got yourself into, ’cause you hanging out with the wrong f–king people instead of bringing your ass home?” Roosevelt said.

The older man also told the teen that he had no idea what he’d gotten himself into.

“This ain’t like school, you get a f–king suspension for like five days. This ain’t like that,” he said.

“All you needed to do was go the f–k to school and bring your ass home.”

  12. There's so much dread and fear among Dems of Sanders as the nominee--toxic socialist views, can't win in the general--and I understand he's got a loyal 30%, not a plurality. So there may be a brokered convention. I'd be pumping for a brokered convention, with Warren as the eventual nominee.

Could happen. She's brilliant, and there is no greater argument for intelligence in the White House than the dearth today.

If drumpfuck knew so many blacks would be let go, Steve miller would have convinced drumpf to lock them back up because they would likely vote for anyone other than drumpf.

Horowitz said it wasn’t clear the errors and omissions were intentional, but the Nunes memo didn’t specifically charge that (President Trump and others would, however). The Democrats’ rebuttal, on the other hand, suggested there was really nothing amiss here. It may be strictly accurate that Horowitz didn’t find that the FISA errors and omissions meant officials had “abused” the process. And the Democratic rebuttal is careful to cast the accusation as being that the FISA applications were used “to spy on the Trump campaign” — which was an allegation made by Trump. But Horowitz sure doesn’t seem to believe the Justice Department was particularly rigorous or transparent here.

Like I said, nothing to see here.

Seventeen "errors and omissions", all of which pushed the FISA process in the same direction, permitting US intelligence agencies to take the unprecedented step of an extensive and long term surveillance operation against the opposition candidate's presidential campaign, including intercepting communications and inserting moles into the organization. This continued long after it was clear to everyone that the underlying Steele dossier was bullshit, and despite months of spying not finding any evidence of Russian involvement in the Trump campaign.

There’s no doubt Trump thinks this. If Bernie is the nominee, Trump’s strategy absolutely will be to commie-bait Bernie all the way to the election, turning him into some combination of Stalin and Hugo Chavez. And to tie Bernie to AOC and “the Squad,” most of whom also identify as socialists, because that will give him the opportunity to throw some extra racism into the mix. Which is basically Trump’s favorite thing to do.

Putin may believe this strategy will work. It’s unclear at this point whether it will or won’t, but it’s a danger.

But it’s conservatives who have overwhelmingly been responsible for opening the floodgates to vast amounts of cash perverting our politics — most notably in Citizens United and similar cases that argue that limitations on campaign spending are a 1st Amendment freedom-of-speech violation, under the logic that “money=speech.”

Meanwhile, pay — for most people — is shit in 2020, was shit in 2016, and has been shit for literally decades. That can’t change without a radical overhaul of our economic system.

I was up to the store this morning, behind a guy who was reeking of skunk weed so bad, I almost got a buzz. I can remember when folks in my state were cultivating weed with names like "Duck Hill Thrill", "Possum Creek Paralyzer", "Newton County Knock-Out", etc. It beat the hell out of that crap you could get out of Mexico. You know that the University of Mississippi was one of the first, and only places to cultivate marijuana? I've heard that folks would line the electrified fences with big-time fishing rods with treble hooks to grab some. Once sinsemilla came around, it was a new game.

I was always fond of Columbian Red Bud. Or, Panama Red.

The smell just brought back memories.

When I was growing up in Humboldt County, we were up to our red eyeballs in local weed pretty much all winter, until it finally ran out and some someones would get in their boat and sail south to bring some imported weed back.
Yup, that's right, folks imported weed into Humboldt County.
I had a taste for what they were calling Colombian, although most of it probably came from Mexico, and we did get the occasional Thai stick, but even counting the famous local weed and some friends' crops from Hawaii and New Mexico, which were both excellent, the best weed I ever smoked was from Jamaica, hands down. It was powerful sativa, not indica, and two hits of it were enough, even for folks who were so tolerant to the effects of weed that they normally woke up, smoked a fat green bud joint, had breakfast, and went to work like it was no big deal.
When Reagan's CAMP helicopters were all up in the hills raiding folks' gardens, my friend was living in a trailer by the Dinsmore Airstrip, and he made me come up there one evening with flashlights and extra batteries for a special event.
The helicopters would fly in with big bundles of plants hanging from the skids, they would land on the end of the dirt airstrip, and the CAMP guys would drag them down by the river, pour diesel on them and set them on fire.
After the last pickup drove past Phil's trailer and disappeared down highway 36 about one in the morning, Phil and I fired up the flashlights and scoped out the ground between the airstrip and the bonfire, and among the river rocks we gleaned close to a half pound each of righteous smoke.

Allegedly, any paraquat on the weed will burn up and be converted to harmless chemicals when you smoke it, so probably not that bad for you.

Almost certainly not as bad for you as people intentionally smoking weed soaked in embalming fluid, which I was depressed to learn is a thing.

WASHINGTON — Last week, U.S. Intelligence officials warned lawmakers on Capitol Hill that Russia was interfering in the 2020 election in an attempt to get President Donald Trump reelected.

Shelby Pierson, the American intelligence community’s top election security official, reportedly left out key details in the briefing with lawmakers. Officials are now calling the information “misleading.”

“The national security adviser gets pretty good access to our intelligence. I haven’t seen any intelligence that Russia is doing anything to attempt to get President Trump reelected,” National security adviser Robert O’Brien said in an interview airing Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”
