It's funny, but they don't look like shock troops to me. LOL. When I see the protesters on TV, they look like young people, middle agers, and seniors. They aren't wearing any military equipment, no brown shirts, no weapons at all, and they are racially diverse. Many appear to be whites, Blacks, Latinos, Asians, or mixtures of two or more of these. Seeing this makes me think there just might be hope for our country yet.

I have data that is very different from yours. According to Mapping Police Violence.org, black people are three times more likely to be killed by police than white people. Furthermore, in eight of the 100 largest police departments, police kill Blacks at a higher per capita (100,000) than the U.S. murder rate. These cities are Reno, Oklahoma City, Santa Ana, Anaheim, St. Louis, Scottsdale, Hialeah, and Madison.
The tables are a little bit difficult to read and my eye sight isn't too great. So you should check it out for yourself.

Here's a modest proposal for the police:
Kill A Civilian, Lose Your Job.
For any cop, without exception. If a policeman kills a civilian, then he's automatically off the force, permanently. With pension and honors if the review board says he did right, without pension and with prosecution if the review board says he did not; and the review board has civilians on it, and its proceedings are public. The cop gets job placement and PTSD counseling; we owe him that much. But he must never do policing again; he owes us that much.
We are seeing now what happens when we are lax about this. The police swagger, their trigger fingers get itchy, and they tell the jury, "I feared for my life when he pulled out his wallet". Such cowardice becomes systemic.
Under the kill-a-civilian-lose-your-job rule, the police will lose their subsidized love of military hardware, and will insist on less lethal options. Mace, taser, or even talking the suspect down, like they do in civilized countries. What a concept!
Automatic dismissal for homicide is indeed a harsh rule, but it is necessary. Even when killing is justified, killers shouldn't stay on the force. Under this rule, the policeman's weapons are like a honeybee's stinger; career suicide to use. Tough on them, but it's a necessary check on their power.
After all, who is to be boss? The police or the people? The boss gets to be an asshole; the servant must say yessir. Tyranny is when the police get to be assholes; liberty is when the people get to be assholes. I choose door #2.

Your statistics are based on total population.
But the vast majority of people of all races are not criminals. Most go through their lives never being arrested.
The more appropriate base is the criminal population, i.e. the violent criminals who are having interactions with the police.
Based on those figures, whites are more likely to be killed during such an interaction than blacks.

Paradoctor: The reduction of lead in gasoline and the legalization of abortion happened within a couple of years of one another and both have been busy reducing violent crime ever since, especially after a couple of decades elapsed and a new less neurodamaged and more family planned generation came of age.
Now we have to partially defund the police departments with stipulations as to what the funding can be used for. Police departments can reform, but it's not fast and harder than hell to accomplish.
Also we have to get rid of 1033 and the transfer of military weapons to police departments, because if you outfit them like an occupying army, they will act like one.
Also, the drug prohibition laws have to go. Poor communities will never trust even decent police officers as long as everyone in those communities has either been arrested and jailed for drugs or knows someone well who has. And cops are human and can pick up on the fact that everyone they are trying to protect hates and fears them.

Per capita is the right way to determine this, but you need to pick the right "capitas" to count.
The population of the US is 13% black and 75% white. The vast majority of both black and white people are not committing violent crimes and thus have very little risk of being killed by police.
But the population of violent criminals interacting with the police is different. And if you are looking for systemic biases in the way police use deadly force, this is the appropriate population to examine.
Per FBI crime statistics, blacks commit 36% of violent crimes, or nearly three times the rate that they 'should' be based on their share of the general population. The FBI counts Hispanics as white when they commit crimes, and this combined group commits 58% of violent crimes. So the white percentage is something less than that.
When you look at the population that interacts with the police, whites are killed at higher rate than blacks. In 2018, 457 whites were shot to death by police versus 223 blacks, or roughly twice as much. This ratio was about the same for 2019 (399/209). Even assuming Hispanics commit zero violent crime, white suspects should only be being killed at 1.6 times the rate of blacks (58/36 = 1.6).
For the category of unarmed suspects killed by police, in 2019, there were 19 whites killed versus 9 blacks. Again, roughly twice as often.
As a percentage of total people shot and killed, it was 3.8% of black suspects (9/236) and 5.1% of white suspects (19/371) who were unarmed.
That means that 96.2% of black suspects killed were armed while 94.9% of white suspects were armed.
There are no systemic biases against blacks in the way police use deadly force. If anything, there is slight bias against white suspects.
In a perfect world, no one would be getting killed by police. But every case, including the tragic case of George Floyd, needs to assessed on its own.

I'm inclined to think you are wrong about Gen-Xers. I have three Grand children and one grandson in-law who are in the Gen-X age group. They all understand politics and they will all be voting for Biden. They will not be voting for Trump no matter who the Democratic candidate is. Having taken three university statistics courses from elementary to causal modeling and several research methods classes as well, I do know quite a lot about statistics. In addition, I have conducted many research studies over a twenty-five year period regarding the efficacy of tutoring and supplemental classes on student's grades, as well as many other topics. Here's the problem with that; many of the people both black and white that were killed by the police were not violent, and many were not criminals. Some had committed major crimes but many had no real records of crimes beyond misdemeanors, and some had nothing on their records.

Which ignores the facts that blacks commit more crimes. It tells you something, but not whether or not there is a racial bias in the way police treat suspects.
Example: You want to see if there is a racial disparity in pickup truck accident fatalities. You take the number of white and black fatalities and divide them by the total white and black populations and that tells you the white and black pickup truck fatality rates.
You do this exercise and find whites are three times more likely to die in a pickup truck accident. From this you can conclude truck manufacturers must be making trucks that are more lethal to whites.
But if whites are more likely to have a pickup truck than blacks, that will skew the findings. If you want to isolate for the factor of race and really see if there is a disparity, you have to account for the other factors that contribute to the raw numbers. So instead you divide the white and black fatalities by the populations of white and black pickup truck drivers.
You do this exercise and you find the rates are about the same. Ergo, Ford is not racist against whites.
The appropriate comparison would use the racial breakdown of pickup truck drivers, not the general population. That would give you the answer to your question.
Likewise, when looking at police shootings, the appropriate comparison is the racial breakdown of violent offenders, not the general population.

I know it looks bad, Mike, but there might be hope. If 35 percent of Republicans either think the country is headed in the wrong direction or were so undecided they couldn't pick one or the other answer, then the Republican Party is in deep trouble. I think you have to go back to the 1964 election, Johnson vs Goldwater in order to see this much deflection on the part of Republican voters. Remember Jonson won in a landslide.
Johnson won 486 EV and Goldwater 52. Goldwater's electoral votes came primarily from Arizona (his home state) and the cotton belt states of the old south.
