I am starting a new feature, it's called question of the day.
Here is today's question:
If Donald trump said that he would resign today, but Mike Pence would have to pardon him and the New York state attorney general's office would have to stop their investigations against him, would you agree to those terms?
Both long and short answers are fine.
No. But it is an annoying question, tempting and infuriating at the same time. Too many crimes have been either neutralized through pardons (Nixon) or buried in the interest of the nation's "looking forward" (Dubya,Cheney) and we will continue to pay the cost in new corruption until we get our elected criminals to do hard time. And this orange orang is so far a virtuoso of grift, graft, blackmail, obstruction, lying under oath, collusion, the whole list.
ReplyDeleteWould my answer be different if the race appeared closer and Trump made the same offer? I refuse to put myself through that ringer.
In a word, fuck no!
ReplyDeleteNo, I would not.

What are you voting for?
Yeah, I think I would.
ReplyDeleteI would let Trump skate on criminal charges, if it absolutely guaranteed his disastrous presidency would end immediately. Even though the polls favor Biden to win, the damage Trump is causing is so great — he’s killing huge numbers of people with his ineptitude and malice — for the good of the country, I’d take away any possibility of him getting a second term.
This might even increase the risk that Pence could get elected and Republicans would hold the White House, although I think the chances of that are quite low. Pence has all the charisma of spackling paste. He is as exciting as a day spent in line at the DMV. Plus, if Trump were taken off the ballot, many of his supporters would be demoralized and simply not vote. They might fly into a rage and smash things, but then again, they might do that anyway if Trump lost the election.
It would be frustrating to see Trump dodge criminal sanction for his misdeeds, but that doesn’t mean everything would come up roses for him. His finally-revealed tax returns suggest he is on the verge of going broke. He owes a gargantuan amount of money to the banks, nobody will lend to him anymore, and I doubt he can grift his way out of this hole once he can no longer leverage the powers of the presidency for financial gain.
We would still all get to laugh and point as he lost his business and the cranes pulled the giant “TRUMP” labels off all his buildings. Trump would finally experience his worst fear: having everyone see him as a loser.
Initially, I would have said "no". But Trump is going to be Trump, he's going to cheat on his taxes in 2021 and then we can put his pasty fat ass in stir.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to add that Trump quitting would eliminate the awful possibility that he loses the election, but refuses to leave office, thereby touching off a civil war.

Point 1. Freedom of speech is being eroded under Trump. People are being prosecuted and/or fired for speaking out. Freedom of the press is also been eroded under Trump. After calling the pres, "the enemy of the people,"He banned several reporters for the White House Press room because he didn't like the questions they asked - This is unprecedented. If Trump is reelected there will be no more free speech or press in this country.
Point 2. Freedom to own guns. Biden will not "take away your guns' just like Obama didn't take away your guns. All right-wing dire predictions about Obama and guns were wrong.
Point 3. Conservative judges on the Supreme Court will not stand up for the bill of right, as they have not done so in the past. Citizens United is one major example. Google it.
Another is gutting the Voting Rights act so that Republicans are free to limit voting opportunities for all citizens.
TO BE CONTINUED....
Why not, we can continue Republican corruption. Reagan would have gone to jail has HW not been elected. What else is new?
ReplyDelete“the normally right-of-center Ross Douthat has some balm to spread on all those dreading a new civil war if Trump loses and won't go away”
ReplyDeleteNot very much “balm,” as far as I’m concerned.
The sort of country club conservatives who are employed by the NY Times as columnists have useless opinions. They are totally self-deluded about what their party is actually like. They are in denial about the abysmal ignorance and bigotry that characterizes the redneck foot soldiers of their party, who may, in fact, riot if their “god emperor” isn’t allowed to be president anymore.
And the past spinelessness of the congressional Republican delegation is not reassuring, either. Mitch and company have acted like complete jellyfish for four straight years, refusing to rein in Trump in any way whatsoever. Why would they suddenly stop being invertebrates and courageously stand on principle and work to save the country? Sorry, I am not seeing it.
Wow you guys are really confident Biden is going win if you are indulging in such feverish fantasies.

ReplyDeletePoint 4. Stock market - If you would review the public record listing stock market performance, you would find that the stock market does better under Democratic administrations than under Republican. - Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are two examples. These are easily proven by looking at the record.
Point 5. Which party sent all those troops to foreign wars where our troops are still in danger? Republican presidents, that's who. Two examples both Bushes. As I recall, both were Republicans. Do you really think Trump will do differently if there is an international incident?
Point 6. Electoral College - Since the populations of the red and blue states are relatively evenly distributed, there is no reason to keep the Electoral College. The country will still be a republic. Republic simply means that we vote for candidates who represent us. In a Democratic Republic, the candidates with the most votes win. Many of us would like to see that happen in the U.S., so that everyone's vote counted.
Point 7. Policing: It is obvious that policing in this country must be reformed. When police respect everyone they engage, it will be returned in most encounters. Of course there are trouble-making law-breakers in every community, but their rights must be respected, just as you wish yours to be. I live in a community where the police are respected and even liked. Why do we like them? Because they treat us with respect.
TO BE CONTINUED...

ReplyDeleteNo, “republic” simply means that we don’t have a king or hereditary aristocracy.
Fringey wingnuts have concocted some bizarro definition that means we are a country in which they deserve special rights to run things and persecute others, even though they are now a demographic minority, and that they are being oppressed if they don’t get those rights.

All indications are the these are not "feverish fantasies" unless you have some fool-proof plan to steal the election. So far, Democrats are voting in higher numbers than they have in recent elections. At least three red states appear to be turning blue, and Biden is well ahead in the three states in the mid west that Trump unexpectedly won in 2016.

I beg to differ with you on this definition, as it is incomplete.
According to the dictionary available on Google, a republic is a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.

A vote for Biden is a vote to make Harris president. Pelosi has already signaled this through her submission of a bill to make it easier to remove a President using the 25th amendment.
ReplyDeleteThis is both dishonest and evil. Harris has zero qualifications to run anything.
Affirmative action and a willingness to suck her boss's cock are the only reasons why she is where she is today.
Tulsi Gabbard wrecked her during the debates because Kamasutra Harris is as dumb as a rock.
“According to the dictionary available on Google, a republic is a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.”
ReplyDeleteAs the article I posted a day or two ago explained, there is an archaic definition of “republic” that meant “representative democracy.” But that is not really how anyone normal uses the term anymore. All real democracies are automatically assumed to be representative, because there isn’t really any other kind, on a nation-state scale. Today, it is mainly used to mean “country without a royal family.”
So, in the case of all those communist countries that called themselves “The People’s Democratic Republic of ...,” they were telling the truth about being republics — although, of course, lying about being democracies.
Affirmative action and a willingness to suck her boss's cock are the only reasons why she is where she is today.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have proof of this? Are you just libelling/slandering people you don't like?
Nope. The precedent of letting Republican presidents get away with their crimes is a large factor in how we got to this dismal place in our country's history.

Getting back to the question posed, my answer would be yes, I accept the terms. While I would want to see trump prosecuted for his crimes, that would be looking at the situation with blinders on. 1) He would be out of office and could do no more harm to the country. 2) we as a nation could begin the process of returning to normal. 3) Those that enabled him for the last 4 years would NOT be immune from prosecution. So all the shilldren (misspelling on purpose) would be liable for any actions they did detrimental to the nation. This includes the Kids, Barr, Kayleigh, Kelly Ann, Pompeo, Meadows, the RNC, Giuliani, and any others that caused damage. 4) Additionally Trump would be disgraced, his word becomes worthless. His debts would be outstanding and he’d lose whatever value his properties have. And if those debts were to some unscrupulous sources, as some have speculated, those sources would exact their pound of flesh.
ReplyDeleteThis is a broken man. That will become apparent after he is out of office, either by the question offered, or when his term is done.

The shooter had an Antifa tattoo on his wrist. The reporter he was working for has been called "one of us" by Antifa. The murdered Trump supporter was unarmed.

Trump is the first President in 40 years not to start a war. He has held back the war mongerers and deescalated our overseas illegal wars.
As far as capitalism is concerned, he is the first President in generations to impose tariffs and renegotiate trade deals to favor American workers over the interests of free-trade globalists.

To say he deliberately did nothing is absurd. He very quickly shut down travel from infected areas and got called racist and xenophobic by the Democrats for doing so. He mobilized the procurement of PPE, ventilators, and hospital space to prepare to what was expected to be an overwhelming of our medical resources. We never got to the point anywhere we we didn't have the capacity to take care of sick people.
This was a new virus that nobody had any information on. There was plenty of conflicting advice. Shutting things down like we did has exacted a huge toll on America. If anything, we probably overreacted to a virus that has a very low death rate for the vast majority of people. The US is a huge, diverse country at the center of international travel. It's remarkable that we kept things in check as much as we did.
You blame him for the economic dislocation that came from the response to the virus at the same time you say he did nothing. If you remember, the stock market actually did crash. The economy was doing great up until this Black Swan event that no one saw coming. The whole world was affected.
Our numbers are so high because we do so much testing and conservatively count COVID deaths. The morality by country is heavily dependent on demographics, particularly the age profile of the population. The UK, Spain and Italy have first-world healthcare systems yet have much higher death rates. Do you really believe countries like Russia and China are reporting straight numbers? Do you believe the response of countries like Bulgaria, Pakistan and Nigeria had more effective responses and better healthcare systems to deal with the pandemic?
A real country pulls together when adversity hits. Instead we have an opposition that prioritizes the value of blaming their opponents for natural disasters and pandemics. We are rapidly rebounding to get back and track in what remains a very challenging environment. I have confidence America and the world will overcome this crisis as we have overcome past crises, and I'm glad President Trump chose the course he did given the information he had.

This is an excellent point that doesn't get made enough.
If America is such a systemically racist oppressive society living under the scourge of white supremacism, why do millions of non-white people do whatever they can to get here? They are breaking the law by swimming rivers, climbing fences, and overstaying visas because they crave oppression?
Trump labor department making corporations pay foreign H-1B visa workers "significantly higher than the market rate—which would prevent many employers from seeking foreign talent in the first place”.
ReplyDeleteCompanies can keep bringing in foreign labor to take American jobs if, as they say, they really need them, but they can no longer use foreign workers to drive down wages. The entire H-1B project has been nothing but cheap labor for mega-corporations.
This is a big win for American workers.

Totally dumb remark. Try to do better by posting some facts. You do know what those are or don't you?
"Project Veritas wisconsin scam videos were selectively edited"
ReplyDeleteYes, they "selectively edited" Foval saying the things he said. Genius.
He was fired over it:
"The videos allegedly showed Foval discussing the use of mentally ill individuals to spur violence at political rallies for 2016 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. The videos also allegedly showed Foval discussing potential voter fraud tactics to bus voters into right-leaning states. Following the release of the Project Veritas Action videos in October 2016, Foval was fired from his position with Americans United for Change."
The videos feature two men, Scott Foval and Robert Creamer, both of whom ran organizations — The Foval Group and Democracy Partners, respectively — affiliated with the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the central operating apparatus of the Democratic Party.
Through his company Democracy Partners, Robert Creamer appeared to be the “mastermind” behind the strategies discussed in the videos. Although Creamer appears in them less than Foval, Foval talks extensively about his ties to Creamer, gushing at one point “Bob is diabolical, and I love him for it.”
In the videos, Foval bluntly admits that he and Creamer use tactics that are likely illegal, saying, “It doesn’t matter what the friggin’ legal and ethics people say; we need to win this motherfucker” (meaning the national presidential contest). These tactics include paying homeless people and mentally ill people to incite violence at Trump rallies, bussing in out of state voters to cast illegal ballots, and setting fire to black churches in order to blame Trump.
White House visitor logs show Creamer made 340 visits to the White House, with 45 of those meetings including President Obama.
"In one hidden camera video, filmed at Creamer’s Washington, D.C. office, Creamer explains that Hillary Clinton is aware of “all” of his activities, directly or indirectly, and that Democracy Partners has a daily conference call with the Clinton campaign, as well as frequent calls with the White House."
BTW, Creamer is a convicted felon, who committed a $2.3 million in bank fraud in the 1990s. He is also married to Democratic Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois. He was also fired after the release of the videos.
Scott Foval issued a series of Tweets right before his account got suspended where he admitted that "Hillary paid me to commit voter fraud and create violence @DavidCornDC. She is a mob figure herself." And "Burning black churches & blaming opponents to gain votes is not birddogging. That is terrorism. I can no longer support Hillary Clinton."

ReplyDelete"Project Veritas wisconsin scam videos were selectively edited"
Glad you agree with me. Every O'keefe video ever made has been edited to change the narrative and leave out important context. Every single one. Your sources are bullshit.
The media doesn’t understand the first thing about the “black community” in America. Neither do white politicians. The black community feels that Joe Biden really blew it with his VP pick. Working- and middle-class black women despise Kamala Harris. They all mispronounce her name as “Carmella” Harris (because she’s caramel-colored, i.e. not really black).
ReplyDeleteWomen voters – and especially black women voters – are incredibly empathetic voters. That’s not a criticism. It’s just a fact. Men tend to vote more on economic concerns, while women are more likely to project themselves into the shoes of another woman when considering who to vote for. That’s not a good thing or a bad thing and I’m not judging – it just IS.
Barack Obama enjoyed record-high black voter turnout in 2008 and 2012. Part of the reason why he enjoyed such high support from the black community was because the black female voter turnout was incredibly high. Many of them were not voting for Barack Obama so much as they were voting for Michelle.
The reason why black women voted for Barack Obama was because they could picture themselves in MICHELLE Obama’s shoes. Mrs. Barack Obama.
When black women look at Kamala Harris, they see a light-skinned, aggressive, not-really-black vamp who would make a move on their own husbands, boyfriends or significant others. They see Mrs. Willie Brown.
They’re not empathizing with Kamala Harris, who they see as a gold-digging opportunist who will sell her body to get ahead. Black women voters are empathizing with the pain that California State Assembly Speaker Willie Brown’s wife went through, when he was buying Kamala Harris a BMW and appointing her to state boards with six-figure salaries.
Biden picked the absolute worst possible choice that he could have made in selecting a “black female” running mate. Black women voters don’t consider Kamala Harris to be a member of their community. They know that Kamala Harris herself never identified as a “black” woman until she decided to run for president last year.
I am not suggesting that Trump is going to enjoy some landslide support among the black community in November. He’s not.
But I think that one of the big surprises among all the experts is going to be the tepid black voter turnout that results from “Carmella” being on the Democrat ticket. The overall black voter turnout is going to be surprisingly low, because many black female voters are simply not going to show up on Election Day. It literally causes them emotional pain to think about Kamala Harris in the White House, because they see Harris for what she really is.
When asked yet again what he would do with four more years in the presidency, Fergus basically said that he'd kill more Americans and stay out of prison.
ReplyDelete-Doug in Sugar Pine
From NPR....
ReplyDeleteThe videos are edited, and O'Keefe and Project Veritas have a history of selectively — and at times misleadingly — editing their videos. While they have previously posted raw footage, they have not done so with these latest stings.
Another political operative who appears in the video says this is a case of misleading editing. Immigration reform activist Caesar Vargas wrote on Facebook that "they just edited the video to distort the story."
The video shows Vargas appearing to agree to a scheme that an undercover Project Veritas operative is pitching that would involve busing people from state to state in order to vote illegally.
Vargas says, "this is not going to happen this election," but appears to be open to the idea at another point in time. "Can we make something special during midterm elections in 2017," he says.
But it's not clear what Vargas is talking about here. Theoretically, he could be talking about any number of proposals floated during that meeting. "Whatever I told this group is what I tell everyone in public: We fight for our family not for a political party," Vargas wrote on Facebook. "They have a transcript of our conversation to confirm I told them that voting twice was illegal."
Veritas does have the original, unedited videos. Why not man up and turn them over so the truth comes out?

I have a couple of responses to your comments. First, you pretend to speak for all Black woman. That seems somewhat presumptuous to me especially paragraphs two, four and six. I think your opinions here are demeaning. How many Black women have you spoken to on this topic?
Second, you remarks about how Black women make decisions seems a bit misogynistic, especially your personal analysis of Kamala.. The Black women I know and have known are intelligent, practical, and pragmatic.
Third, "Black women voters don’t consider Kamala Harris to be a member of their community. How do you know this?
They know that Kamala Harris herself never identified as a “black” woman until she decided to run for president last year."
This is blatantly untrue. Californians knew very well that Kamala was a Black women when we voted for her as Attorney General and as Senator She clearly identified as Black.
I find it puzzling that you found it necessary to make these comments here.

It is no secret but public knowledge that Kamala Harris slept her way up into California political life by being a very public escort and mistress for California Democrat Kingmaker Willie Brown. Willie Brown is 30 years older than Harris and was very married at the time. It was public. It was an embarrassment.
That is why Kamala Harris, who openly and brazenly slept her way into California Democrat state politics by publicly hooking onto the very married Willie Brown, should matter to all women — regardless of ethnicity, color, religion, or party. Just as, despite the wrong assumptions on which she plays, Harris simply is not an “African American” — her parents are from India and British Jamaica — she likewise is not a woman who rose the way that Americans teach their daughters to achieve. Yes, she went to high school, college, and law school. Good for her. So did zillions of other Americans. And then, with law degree in hand, those other Americans had to prepare résumés, do often-unpaid internships and summer volunteer jobs if not clerkships, interview for entry-level positions, and do the lowest-on-the-totem-pole legal tasks at their new positions for a few years as they worked their way up. It was not as simple as just being a mistress.
https://spectator.org/kamala-harris-willie-brown-women-stereotypes/
Willie Brown, admitted he helped her get her political start, writing in his bloggy San Francisco Chronicle column:
"Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.
And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco. I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a host of other politicians."
https://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/Sure-I-dated-Kamala-Harris-So-what-13562972.php
Brown made a cutesy reference to Kamala saying she was going to ticket him for jaywalking, which sounds like overkill, probably the kind of statement someone with a guilty conscience would make, not wanting anyone to know about how she got her office. What's more, Harris has kept virtually all references to Brown out of her numerous memoirs on the market.
https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/08/willie_brown_admits_it_kamala_harris_slept_her_way_to_the_top.html
Even Snopes, a site that exists to cover for the lies of Democrats, admits the Brown-Harris affair is "partly true" (Which tells you it's so true not even they can lie about it).
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/kamala-harris-affair-willie-brown/
Back in 2003, she described her former relationship with Brown in an interview with SF Weekly as an “albatross hanging around my neck.”
“I refuse to design my campaign around criticizing Willie Brown for the sake of appearing to be independent when I have no doubt that I am independent of him — and that he would probably right now express some fright about the fact that he cannot control me,” she told the outlet.
“His career is over; I will be alive and kicking for the next 40 years. I do not owe him a thing.”

Nancy Pelosi’s push to create a commission to study the 25th Amendment is a politically transparent power grab designed purely to raise questions about President Trump’s mental and physical health right before Election Day.
It won’t work — and actually could backfire on Democrats if voters think the House speaker is trying to capitalize on Trump’s coronavirus diagnosis.
Pelosi claims the bill has nothing to do with Trump, yet at the same time, she says, “We are reminded of the necessity of action by the health of the current president.”

ReplyDeleteI guess going after Kamala distracts us from Pence’s weird ass. Can’t be alone with another woman unless “mother” is there. Now they nominate another religious nut case to the Supreme Court. 😳 I guess religious repression is a thing in the GOP. Maybe that’s why trump is so popular because he’s the only one getting some. 🤔

ReplyDeleteWhy is Amy Coney Barret's Catholic faith an issue when Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Jewish faith was not?
“I am a judge born, raised, and proud of being a Jew. The demand for justice runs through the entirety of the Jewish tradition. I hope, in my years on the bench of the Supreme Court of the United States, I will have the strength and the courage to remain constant in the service of that demand.”

ReplyDeleteFirst, he was never her boss (a concept Fergus and Billbarr Buggins have a hard time grasping also), and second, what rock have you been living under for, like, ever? Have you ever had a job?
I think that if we have to have a Barrett on the supreme court, it should be Syd. Sure, he's been dead for fourteen years, and for the last few decades of his life he was seriously crazy, but I can guarantee you that he would never overturn Roe v Wade, strike down the ACA, reverse Obergefell v Hodges or push the country in the direction of a fascist theocracy.

And Syd Barret would think you were a fag.

ReplyDeleteActually you and Larry Craig would be the ones who know best.
ReplyDeleteBut speaking of corrupt Republicans, remember Jack Abramoff? He just became the first criminal to plead guilty to breaking a law that was written because of his own crimes.
They got him for wire fraud this time, but Abramoff was also charged with, and pleaded guilty to, violating the Lobbying Disclosure Act in 2017. Congress amended provisions of the Lobbying Disclosure Act in 2007 in part as a reaction to Abramoff’s past conduct as a lobbyist.

"Why is Amy Coney Barret's Catholic faith an issue when Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Jewish faith was not?"
ReplyDeleteBecause she didn't give speeches and write papers suggesting that, as a justice, she'd issue rulings that would force you to chop off your foreskin and start eating kosher food?
Amy Coney Barrett holds wackadoodle religious views -- which would be perfectly fine, except she thinks the government should make everyone else follow her wackadoodle views.
Doug, who is Larry Craig? More importantly why do I care? That's two simple ones, so don't be a bitch.

ReplyDeleteRuth Bader Ginsburg: “It’s not a baby; it’s just a clump of cells.”
Our first and most revered republican hero is Senator Bob Packwood who was forced to resign in disgrace after several women accused him of sexual harrassment and sexual assault. I bet most of you are too young to remember when the Senate had the moral authority to threaten a member with expulsion. And that disgraced member had the dignity to resign. I didn't think so.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites was actually a pretty good guy. Randy "Duke" Cunningham just wanted to enjoy some of the perks of his position as a player in the House of Representatives. Randy was not really happy with his salary. His tastes ran towards expensive whiskey, cigars and prostitutes with his buddies. Suddenly this all fit into place with his association with defense contractor Brent Wilkes. Randy and Brent used to argue over which one of them would get the prettiest prostitutes. Those guys knew how to live. Using his power as a member of the Armed Forces Committee, the Duke steered some $87 million in government contracts to Brent's financial backers. Did I mention that the Duke was the greatest fighter pilot ace of the entire Viet Nam conflict? Before the scandal and disgrace one of his dog fights with the top Viet Cong pilot was the stuff of legend and required coursework for all of the top gun guys. Damn shame because I like Randy. He opposed torture. I mean it.
These are the old school guys. Then came a string of imitators. Some bright eyes figured out that they could use federal anti-discrimination laws to protect errant congress critters who were caught in sexual pecadillos. It worked like a charm. A little apology, some time off for counseling and there was no need to lose their jobs. Notable among this class of sexual offenders and predators is my personal favorite, Mark "Are You Rock?" Foley. Mark was something of an embarrassment to the new Speaker of the House, John Boehner. Mark liked to send dirty text messages to young, gay pages and every now and then hook up in person. Really fun guy who knew how to party. Boehner, (no pun intended,) put the kibosh, so to speak, on these prurient activities and that was the end of it. But I will always have a special place in my heart for Larry "Wide Stance" Craig. Larry liked to pair up with like-minded individuals in public places such as airport bathrooms. One of the signals was to bump the next guy's shoe with your shoe as you stood in the bathroom stalls. The cops had set up a sting with a really cute undercover blonde policeman. Larry fell for it. Much to the nation's joy, he tried in vain to defend his behavior in court. Everybody was cracking up. Good times.
But special honors are reserved for Louisiana Senator David who only recently retired. I know, I know. All he did was buy whores. That's kinda par for the course for the U.S. Congress, right? But you have to admit, technically it is against the law. I think the whores in Louisiana are a cut above. Televangelist Jimmy Swaggart had a great deal of difficulty leaving them alone. I guess they will do just about anything you ask them to do and still make you feel like a man if you know what I mean. David like to put on diapers for his sexy times. I'm guessing that he would pretend that the prostitute was his baby-sitter. Come on! Like none of you remember the special pleasure of letting the baby-sitter change your diapers? What? Like I'm some kind of weirdo? I was barely three years old!
Yeah. There were some democrats. But the republicans were much cooler.
David Vitter, of course.
ReplyDeleteBack in the day, Roy Zimmerman had a funny song about the self-righteously Christian and ostensibly anti-gay senator’s interesting public bathroom adventures, called “Larry Craig Is Completely Heterosexual.”
ReplyDeleteSadly, I cannot find it online anymore. Who knows, maybe Craig threatened lawsuits if Zimmerman didn’t take it down?

So it has never occurred to you that perhaps Kamala found Willie attractive and dated him because she liked him? I saw Willie in action once in Sacramento, and he was a bomb! Very attractive man!
BTW, how do you know they were bed mates?

ReplyDeleteAnd that’s the point. She seems to be doing fine on her own and very well may become your VP. I mean trump was handed everything on a silver platter by his rich daddy and never worked a day in his life so everyone has help along the way.
I mean let’s look at the situation Kamala is an AKA and bro Willie is an Alpha. Of course he’s gonna look out for her, we tend to do that. Also if he was dating her once again of course he’s gonna look out for her. Just like trump’s dad looked out for him and made sure he didn’t have to serve in Nam. People do favors for each other all the time, Moscow Mitch blocking Merrick Garland? Favor. Let’s not pretend politics isn’t a big reach around.

Willie and his wife had been separated for ten years. How humiliated could she be? Not nearly as humiliated as Trump's two former wives. He cheated openly on both of them. And then there are the hookers he frequents too.

ReplyDeleteWingnuts aren’t upset about the prospect of living in an undemocratic theocracy. They just insist it be a Christian and not an Islamic theocracy.
Although the latter is preposterous fear, given that Muslims, at roughly 1% of the populace, aren’t in a position to impose their will on anyone, ever. Worrying about the possibility of American Shariah law is like worrying about the possibility of being murdered by a gnat.

ReplyDeleteSo instead we get a Progressive theocracy that imposes the unassailable doctrines of Equality and Diversity, the Original Sin of White Racism, the Apocalyptic myth of Climate Change with divine retribution for sin, and it's ability to punish blasphemy ("hate speech").
Progressivism is the historical mainstream of Protestant Christianity. It is puritanism without God. An areligion, but a religion nonetheless. It escapes the restrictions of the separation of church and state by denying it is a religion. Yet it's dogma thoroughly and completely dominates all of the institutions in our society.

Wall Street and Silicon Valley are terrified a populist agenda. Globalist investors demand access Chinese goods made for pennies on the dollar by slave labor. Wall Street really hates free market capitalism and loves corporate cronyism welfare.
ReplyDeleteLook where Goldman Sachs is putting its money: Firm execs have given $173,000 to Joe Biden and just $11,943 to Donald Trump, which is just a few bucks more than the $11,200 they gave to Caruso Cabrera, the former CNBC anchor whose long-shot bid to unseat AOC was unsuccessful. In 2016, they gave Hillary $169,000 and an additional $675,000 in speaking fees.

ReplyDeleteOh yeah, kinda sucks to use the courts to maintain equality, fairness and a clean environment that we all share. That’s much worse than being subjected to strict Catholic extreme ideology.🙄
Still waiting for the evidence we’re being subjected to a Jewish ideology.

ReplyDeleteBecause it's not a religion, being based on reason and evidence, not supernatural dogma inscribed in a book by someone who claims to be a prophet.
You just don't like the conclusions, so you fabricate your own phony evidence to reach different ones.
And if the "alternative facts" fail you, well, then it's right back to the the standard tactic of "God says! You must obey him!"

ReplyDeleteHuh, what a conundrum. Why might bankers not be fond of Trump?
While I'm sure Wall Streeters very much enjoyed Trump's big fat tax cut, they are also now quite concerned about the long-term growth potential of the economy, because that's where their profits ultimately come from. And their business acumen tells them that Trump being president is terrible for the economy, Trump having proven himself to be an utter moron and all.
This might come as a great shock to you, since Trump keeps telling you what great things he has done for the economy, but I regret to inform you that TRUMP LIES.

Equality under the law is the proper use of the courts. Enforcing equality of outcome that ignores the reality that all people are not equal in abilities and proclivities is tyranny.
"Fairness" would be a system devoid of special protections for favored classes of people.
We all share in the cleanest environment of our lifetimes. Pollution is not an issue in America. Climate change is an ideological tool that subverts science to push an agenda of societal and economic control. Primitive peoples think the Gods punish man through the weather; so do Progressives.
