Remembering Move, and less government means less safety.

moveEvery time you see a picture of those armed militiamen in Nevada supporting and protecting Cliven Bundy from the American government, remember what happened in Philadelphia on this day in 1985.

A city and their leaders (yes, you too Mr. Negro Mayor) decided that it was cool to drop a bomb on a group of people in a home, which was located in a residential neighborhood, because their neighbors thought that they were being a nuisance.

But don't worry, what happened on Osage Avenue in West Philadelphia 29 years ago, is not going to happen in the desert north of Les Vegas, Nevada. No matter how violent and threatening those  anti- government militiamen and armed thugs seem to be, the government will not touch them.

And before you say field is just being a "racialist", for the record, I don't think what happened at Ruby Ridge was right, either. I am no fan of Randy Weaver, if memory serves me correctly he was a racist, but the government could have handled that situation differently as well.

What happened at Ruby Ridge and in West Philly is not going to happen here because those armed militiamen and thugs have political cover and a powerful media conglomerate backing them. The Negro AG will not act because he doesn't want to piss of right wing America more than they he already has. And I am sure that his "no drama" boss told him --and is telling him-- to just chill.

Militiaman stands guardSo even though Mr. Bundy's neighbors--- like the neighbors of Move in West Philadelphia--- wants them out, they (the militiamen) will only leave on their terms and the government be damned.

Of course we all know that they can do that, because they know that this time the bombs won't be falling.

Finally, there is a breaking news story in Turkey that over a 150 miners are dead after being trapped in a coal mine. I know that Americans don't care what happens anywhere else in the world, but you might also want to know that two people were killed in a mining accident in West Virginia, yesterday.

The mine has a long history of safety violations, but I am sure that they had enough money to make sure that all the right people looked the other way.

Sadly, this is what happens when you want less government with fewer safety and environmental regulations.

Anything for those $20 an hour jobs. Who needs safety when you can put food on the table? Daddy won't be home tonight, but don't worry, he was fully vested with the company, his death benefits will kick in soon.

"The accident at the Brody No. 1 mine in Wharton, about 30 miles south of Charleston, occurred as the miners were carving away at one of the many pillars of coal that kept the roof from collapsing, the mine owner, the Patriot Coal Corporation of St. Louis, said in an emailed statement.

The company said the miners died in a “severe coal burst,” a violent ejection of coal that can occur as the removal of a pillar shifts the roof’s weight to surrounding ones too weak to handle the added stress. The pillars, often 60 to 80 feet square, are the last remaining coal in a section of a mine that is being abandoned. Retreat operations are among the most dangerous in underground mining.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration said in an email that federal investigators had arrived at the mine but that the cause of the accident had not been determined." [Source]

Those "federal investigators" from the "evil government".  "The cause of the accident"? That's easy; the "federal investigators" didn't go there soon enough.
