John F. Kelly would have "compromised" with slave holders.

Image result for john kelly images  It has been an interesting 24 hours here in America.

A terrorist just struck New York City killing at least eight people. His weapon of choice was the thing Americans love even more than their guns: An automobile.

We will be hearing a lot about this latest terrorist and his disgusting act for the next few days, and the usual suspects will give us their speech about Islam and all those evil Muslims that are trying to kill us.

Americans will learn about a country they never knew existed (Uzbekistan), and they will be scrambling to find it on the map.

It should be interesting.

Also, we know by now that one of the president's men has pled guilty to lying to the feds, and  that he is cooperating with their investigation.  (Be very afraid, trumpbots.)

What we didn't know, and now we do, is the the president's chief of staff just might be a bigger racist than he is.

"If, by appearing on Laura Ingraham’s show on Monday night, John F. Kelly was trying to do damage control after the indictments of Trump associates earlier in the day, it did not work.
Instead, Mr. Kelly, the White House chief of staff, resurrected the debate over Confederate monuments — previously fueled by his boss, President Trump, over the summer — and the Confederacy itself. He called Robert E. Lee “an honorable man who gave up his country to fight for his state,” said that “men and women of good faith on both sides made their stand where their conscience had them make their stand,” and argued that “the lack of an ability to compromise led to the Civil War.” [Source]

This man actually believes that slavery was something that we could find a "compromise" about. Slavery!

I guess if folks like me would have accepted being 4/5 of a human being we wouldn't have had to deal with that pesky little war. Why not compromise? You can keep your slaves as long as you don't whip them and let them go to church on Sundays. Unbelievable!

I always wondered what Donald trump had in common with John Kelly, and now I know.  Kelly spoke like his boss did when he spoke about the Nazis in Charlottesville,   when he said that there are two sides to this slavery debate.

I won't even get into the part where he said that Robert E. Lee was an "honorable man". Can you imagine Angela Merkel's chief of staff saying that Adolf Hitler was an "honorable man"? I can't. But that is in essence what just happened here. Robert E. Lee was a traitor and a holder of slaves. There was nothing honorable about him.

Of course, as is to be expected, the White House doubled down on Kelly's racist and ignorant comments. They made no apologies for his incredible remarks, and they tried to treat the rest of is like we were the crazy ones.  Wait, y'all didn't know that it was cool to compromise on slavery?

Folks  like John Allen previously called John Kelly the "moral voice of Trump's White House." We know now that nothing could be further from the truth. John Kelly seems to be morally joined at the hip with his boss. And all the medals in the world will not change that fact.

Robert E. Lee was not an honorable man, and neither is John F. Kelly.

Show me your company....

Hillary Clinton might have gone too far when she said that a major terrorist group uses videos of Donald trump as a major recruiting tool, but another terrorist group is certainly glad he is running.

He wants an apology, but Hillary basically told him to go f**k himself. Good for her.  The nerve of the orange one to demand someone apologizes to him for doing what he himself has been doing from the very start of his campaign: lying.

But back to that other terrorist group showing him love.

"Donald Trump's presidential campaign has become an outreach tool for the Ku Klux Klan, a leader of the Knights Party, a branch of the KKK, told the Washington Post.

They like the overall momentum of his rallies and his campaign," Rachel Pendergraft, a spokeswoman for the Knights Party, told the Washington Post. "They like that he’s not willing to back down. He says what he believes and he stands on that."

Pendergraft added that Trump's campaign has become a conversation starter for a movement that's seen its ranks diminish after the country elected its first black president, and Americans have moved to the left on social issues such as same-sex marriage.

The Washington Post report is just the latest to focus in on how Trump's campaign has mobilized supporters around long-simmering racial bitterness that has been ignored by most mainstream politicians.

Trump has also drawn praise from former KKK leader David Duke who recently called Trump the "best of the lot" and the founder of the white supremacist website Stormfront said earlier this year that Trump's campaign had given the website a traffic spike.

Trump's campaign did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Mashable. He does not belong to and has not endorsed any white supremacist groups.

But Trump's rhetoric about Muslims and immigrants has created some tense moments at his campaign rallies across the country.

At a November rally in Birmingham, Alabama, a Black Lives Matter protester was shoved and tackled, and says attendees shouted derogatory comments at him.

And during a recent Trump event in Las Vegas, an attendee yelled "sieg heil," a Nazi-era salute. "[Source]

Ok, so we know that some of trump's supporters are racist, but does that make trump himself a racist? No, not necessarily, but we are talking about trump here. He is the guy, after all, who went to great lengths to show the country that the first black president wasn't even an American.

Ranting to close out 09.

The po po shooting unarmed men in church; The Chinese putting mentally ill foreigners to death; The Iranians shooting protesters to death; and big time college football coaches allegedly hazing their players. What a way to end 2009. Stop the world, I want to get off.

If you are his O ness you must be wondering what the heck you got yourself into. Did you see the poor guy at his news conference yesterday? He looked like I would have been looking if I had to interrupt my Hawaiian vacation to calm you softies here in A-merry-ca. What a bunch of babies.

You cried long and hard for your president to come and assure you that everything was alright, and he had no choice but to emerge and tell you that everything was OK, and you could relax. Yes there were some failures, but your government is getting it right now. That is, of course, until the next lunatic decides to carry out his mission of death and destruction against the infidels.

Of course watching the way his people botched the first few days after the flying Nigerian did his thing, I guess he figured if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. Not that it did much good. Folks are still jittery, and his critics are still chirping.

And speaking of chirping; I want to chirp about something else that has me seeing red tonight: It's the treatment of poor women in California. As my man John McEnroe would say: "You cannot be serious!" Cutting cancer screening to women who make less than $21, 600.00 per year? (How did they come up with that figure?) So if you make $21,601.00 I guess you are OK.

I know states are facing a budget shortfall, but these are the lives of women we are talking about here. Couldn't they find somewhere else to cut? Like the salaries of their elected officials, for instance. That would be a nice start. Cali is looking at a 20 billion [with a b] budget- shortfall, these cuts would save about 10 million. I guess they have to start somewhere, so why not with the lives of a bunch of insignificant poor women?

Isn't the actions of some of the people charged with making decisions in California a form of terrorism? The people of California should have some new and improved screening for their asses before they vote them back into office.

WHAT IS SATIRE IN A FOX NEWS A-MERRY-CA?

Tonight would have been a perfect time for me to post about Miss. America doing her own version of the "slip n slide" at the Miss. Universe Pageant, and how it's a perfect metaphor for so many things that's screwed up with our republic these days . But alas, I have some other things on my mind, mainly presidential politics and the latest bru ha ha over his "O" ness.

Now first, I am going to surprise a whole lot of people and say that I understand what the "New Yorker" was trying to do with their cover. It was meant to be satirical, and I might be the only black person that's not a republican in these divided states to see it as such. If anyone should be offended by this, it's Muslim A-merry-cans, but then I am sure that they are so used to facing prejudice on a daily basis, that a magazine cover lampooning the people that show them prejudice, probably isn't all that offensive to them. Even Mr. Morton's people have gotten into the act: " The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Sen. Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree." Yeah right, sure you do Mr. Burton. And I am quite sure that most of the people it's lampooning will be voting for your candidate. Of course, as is usually the case, you Obamaholics have been losing your natural minds over this dis from the rest of A-merry-ca.

But isn't this a case of shooting the messenger? If you Obamaholics don't think that a significant number of your fellow citizens feel that the idiotic caricature on the cover of this magazine is accurate, well then I have a nice little antique bell with a crack in it to sell you from my hometown. Which, if you believe the Editors of this magazine, was the point of the cover: To make fun of the ignorant folks in A-merry-ca who actually believe that the pic is an accurate portrayal of his "O" ness. Ahhh field, come on, if this was FOX you would be all over them. I smell a double standard here. If you smell double standard, you have a heck of a good nose, because it probably is on my part. You see it's like this: FOX has a history of doing ignorant and racist shit, and they cater to the very folks this magazine happens to be lampooning. The clowns over at FOX are the ones who gave us the terrorist fist pump, the intentional mispronunciation of Obama's name, and the studio pundits who make fun of his wife and call her angry. So you damn right that if this was FOX I would have been all over their backwards ass behinds, and I make no apologies for that.

But not these folks, they don't have that history. This is not Vogue, who tried to take a serious picture and came off looking just flat out stupid, racist, and insensitive. The "New Yorker Magazine" folks know that this picture looks stupid and insensitive, and that was their point. What is a shame is that this cover created such an uproar, because the article in the magazine--I wonder how many people actually read it-- was a pretty good one. It chronicled the "O" man's rise as a typical South side Chicago politician, and featured an interesting cast of characters who seemed all too familiar to me. If some of you Obamaholics read it, you will find that your boy is a politicians like all the rest of the politicians here in A-merry-ca. It doesn't mean he won't do a good job, or that he doesn't deserve our vote, but I swear that wasn't water I saw him walking on.

BREAKING NEWS

I know you thought about it too. When you saw that BREAKING NEWS sign in big bold red letter on CNN, and that image of that bridge, you can't tell me you weren't thinking; "oh oh the terrorist have struck." If you were, you weren't alone. I know I was, only to find out that the real terrorist was some incompetent engineer from back in the day.

So this is what our lives have come to. At least for some of us. Unfortunately, many of us live with terrorist every day. Terrorist that shoot up our neighborhoods indiscriminately. Terrorist that sell drugs to our children. Terrorist that would just as soon kidnap our child, or firebomb our home if they thought we were reporting their crimes to the authorities. Those terrorist.

CNN, ABC, FOX, and all the other news outlets could be running BREAKING NEWS banners every f*****g day about the shit that goes on in the hood. But don't take my word for it, just google crime in any major city in America, you will see.

A friend of mine from law school represents a funeral home in Baton Rouge Louisiana. This week he was here for a Black Morticians Convention with his client. ( I can't make this shit up, yes there is a black morticians convention, and yes they were meeting in "Killadelphia". How appropriate was that shit?) So I am chilling with a group of these cats over drinks, and I am hearing war stories you wouldn't believe. (This was my week for funeral homes, I better check up on my will). From the guy who buried Coretta Scott King, to the guy whose daddy used to run moonshine out of his hearse when his county was dry. One dude (I think he was from Detroit) was averaging six funerals a week for over three months, and another guy was telling us about the drug dealer in L.A. who insisted on a low rider (complete with hydraulics) for his casket. But to a man, (and I think one woman) they all agreed that the killings were out of control. That the victims and the mourners were getting younger and younger, and that, as a race, we were going to self destruct any f*****g day now.

So this war on terror that the Bushites keep scaring us with needs to be refocused. When we are spending billions and billions of dollars to make Iraqis safe and rebuild their country, and ignoring our own people and the infrastructure in ours; there is something fundamentally wrong. This shit has got to change, or the terrorism is going to spread, and I am sure we will see the BREAKING NEWS banners then now won't we. " Suburban mom shot to death in cross fire while visiting the Liberty Bell." Yep, I bet that would get some attention.

We all saw the images of the poor people in the heartland. To lose a bridge in the middle of rush hour was tragic, no doubt. And I feel for them because of what has transpired. But the tragic shit that goes on in cities like Philly is day to day, and it's like the drip drip of a Chinese water torture. But no one is really looking at it, and no one really cares. Because it's not a bridge in the middle of the heartland it's not their America, so no war on the terrorist terrorizing those people needs to be declared.

Sad isn't it? Unless of course you are a funeral home director.

"Real talk: Daniel Rubin has a great little piece up wherein he chats with The Field Negro, the Philly-based blogger who sharply ponders all things black on a daily basis. (Seriously, if you’ve never checked in with TFN, you should: Its author, Wayne Bennett, is a fantastic read who can cut through bullshit like a hot knife through butter, which is a far grosser analogy than I wanted to make, but there you have it.)"
~Philebrity~
"One of the most precocious and hilarious Black political minds on the net. Ive been a long-time fan!" ~Asad Malik~

"..While most of what he writes is tongue-in-cheek, his space is a safe house for candid discussions about race, especially in the comments section, where people of all colors meet."

~~Daniel Rubin, "The Philadelphia Inquirer"~~
"To white people, Bennett's musings are like kitchen-table talk from a kitchen they may otherwise never set foot in. To African Americans, he is part of a growing army of black Internet amateurs who have taken up the work once reserved for ministers and professional activists: the work of setting a black agenda, shaping black opinion and calling attention to the state of the nation's racial affairs."

~~Richard Fausset, "L.A. Times"~~~

"That's why I love the blog "Field Negro" so much. Field, as he's known to his fans, has the sense of reality that it takes to call out the (CowPuckey) of blame beating by those who are in positions of power and their lackeys. Because of his handle and his unabashed way of writing about racial issues, Field is often cited as a "Black blogger." What he is, however, is a first-class detector of blame deflection and an excellent student of history. If you want to write about the past and future of repression there's really no other perspective to take - which is why everyone should read Field."

"Half a century after Little Rock, the Montgomery bus boycott and the tumultuous dawn of the modern civil rights era, the new face of the movement is Facebook, MySpace and some 150 black blogs united in an Internet alliance they call the
AfroSpear.

Older, familiar leaders such as Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton and NAACP Chairman Julian Bond, are under challenge by a younger generation of bloggers known by such provocative screen names as Field Negro, thefreeslave
and African American Political Pundit. And many of the newest struggles are being waged online."

~Howard Witt-The Chicago Tribune~
"I had no idea, for example, of the extent of the African-American blogging world out there and its collective powers of dissemination. But now, after reading thousands of anguished, thoughtful comments posted on these blogs reflecting on issues of persistent racial discrimination in the nation's schools and courtrooms, what's clear to me is that there's a new, "virtual" civil rights movement out there on the Internet that can reach more people in a few hours than all the protest marches, sit-ins and boycotts of the 1950s and 60s put together." ~Chicago Tribune Reporter, Howard Witt~
