Imagine if they were as outraged at the killing of those nine innocent people in South Carolina who were slaughtered by that racist lunatic. They accused the left then of trying to score political brownie points before the bodies were cold, but this is exactly what they are doing with this situation in San Francisco. The fact that it happened in San Francisco and not Salt Lake City or Phoenix just gave them more ammunition for their rhetorical guns.
Check out this rant from the leader of the FOX VIEWS crowd:
"Yesterday, he (O'Reilly) said that the mayor and city supervisors are “directly responsible” for her death due to San Francisco being a “sanctuary city,” and he also said the Obama administration is “complicit” for not doing a better job enforcing the law.
Tonight O’Reilly doubled down, ripping a city sheriff and a city supervisor for not directly owning up to failure. He called them all “incompetent” and said the sheriff should resign.
“Kate Steinle is collateral damage,” O’Reilly said, “to the insane far-left politics that have long corrupted the city by the bay. Dangerous people are walking around because of political correctness.” [Source]
Kate Steinle has become the rallying cry for the right who want desperately to put the atrocities in Charleston behind them, and shift the political blame game. It's a classic trick that has worked for them time and time again. This time, though, by actually claiming that the White House was "complicit" in her death, they might have jumped the shark.
So let's take this one psycho undocumented worker who commits a heinous act, and paint all immigrants who are here illegally with one broad brush. (Hmmm, where have I seen this tactic before?)
"Steinle is dead because of the damage the Left has done in its crusade to dismantle what remains of U.S. immigration law.
Whatever discourages illegals from entering the country is bad, and whatever encourages them to hop the fence is good in the eyes of the progressives who are destroying America."
It's not Benghazi, but it will have to do for now.
