Just because he is a liberal and might run for political office as a dumbocrat, that doesn't mean that I believe Alec Baldwin when he says that he didn't call a black reporter a "coon" and a "crackhead". White republicans do not have the entire racism market cornered; they just have a very large part of it.
"According to the New York Post, one of the paper’s reporters, Tara Palmeri, approached Baldwin while he was walking his dog Sunday and asked him about a lawsuit involving his wife, Hilaria. The paper claims Baldwin (inset) responded aggressively, grabbing the reporter by the arm and saying, “I want to choke you to death.”
Then, according to the newspaper, Baldwin turned to the photographer, G.N. Miller, a retired NYPD detective who’s now a Post staff photographer, and called him several names, including “coon,” “crackhead,” and “drug dealer.” USA Today reported that Miller, who is African-American, and Baldwin both filed harassment claims against each other. Sorry Alec, it's not so hard to see a man who called his own 11 year old daughter a "pig" calling a grown ass stranger of the Negro persuasion a "drug dealer" and a "crackhead".
Finally, wingnuts (with the exception of Charles Krauthammer) and some folks in the White House press corps are outraged that O played golf with Tiger Woods this past President's Day weekend. The press apparently was "irked by the lack of access" to the pair. (Yes, because there is nothing Americans want to know more than if the president has learned to hit a fade.) It was just two bi-racial fellows getting their game on. Honestly, the only person who should be pissed is Michelle. ("Barack, I want to go through your phone when you get back. I don't trust that damn Tiger.")
"The fury reached its head when the White House press corps issued a statement slamming the White House's lack of transparency after a golf game with Obama and Tiger Woods went unseen. Krauthammer said the complaining was over a "trivial issue."
"If the guy wants to play golf, the guy deserves a couple of days off," Krauthammer said on The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News Monday night.
"He wants privacy? Big deal. This is the biggest non-story that the media have created since the Kardashian weddings."
Host Bill O'Reilly asked Krauthammer if Woods' "dubious" history lent any credence to the press' outrage.
"I don't think Obama's out there with Tiger receiving marital advice. I think he's receiving advice on how to line up a putt," Krauthammer said."
Try telling that to your fellow FOX NEWS guy, Ed Henry, Mr. Krauthammer.
"Speaking on behalf of the White House Correspondents Association, I can say a broad cross section of our members from print, radio, online, and TV have today expressed extreme frustration to me about having absolutely no access to the President of the United States this entire weekend.... There is a very simple but important principle we will continue to fight for today and in the days ahead: Transparency." [Source]
Ed, I think that the republic will survive if we don't see how Barack Obama lines up a putt.
