Missing in the Big Easy, tricking Breitbart, and Dennis and his friend the menace.

Shout out to Ryan Smith and the folks at HLN for featuring the story of that missing New Orleans teacher. Hopefully more news outlets will feature her story and she won't be just another missing person story pushed to the side like all the others with people who look like her.

Terrilynn Monette's family must really be going through it right now, but unfortunately these types of cases never usually end well.

So anyway, on to some lighter news. That Paul Krugman is one sneaky dude. Looks like he played along with a Daily Currant story that duped the clueless Breitbart gang.

Now, to be fair, I myself have been duped by that crew in the past, but I am not a high profile conservative website with all kinds of resources and money at my disposal. There is no excuse for jumping on a faux news story on their part.

"How delicious: Paul Krugman, legendary economist and liberal lion, has declared bankruptcy! Breitbart.com saw solid gold and quickly jumped on the story — If Krugman can’t even manage his own finances, why should we trust his advice on the nation’s, right?

Unfortunately for conservatives in the early throes of schadenfreude, the story comes from the Daily Currant, a satirical news site that competes with the Onion. It’s bogus. “I decided not to post anything about it; instead, I wanted to wait and see which right-wing media outlets would fall for the hoax,” Krugman wrote on his blog. “And Breitbart.com came through!”

“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go give a lavishly paid speech to Friends of Hamas,” he continued, poking fun at Breitbart’s recent invention of a group that doesn’t exist.

Breitbart summarily removed the story without a correction or note, so that the URL now leads to a 404 error. It’s generally considered more ethical to leave an erroneous story online with a prominent correction than to delete it entirely, except in the case of plagiarized material, when leaving the story up could violate the source author’s intellectual property."

Come on now, "ethical" and Breitbart doesn't belong in the same paragraph.

Finally, I wish Dennis Rodman would tell his friend over in North Korea to chill.
Kim Jong, if your people are starving and you are strapped for cash, you can't go around threatening to nuke every country where they wear blue jeans.

Violating UN security resolutions time and time again, ending your armistice agreement with your neighbor that ended the Korean War, and having your soldiers chant "death to America" has got the folks here in America (Except Dennis) a little nervous.

"North Korean state television has released a statement issued by the country's foreign ministry, condemning new UN sanctions which the Security Council voted for unanimously on Thursday.

The statement promised that the sanctions would bolster the country's position as a nuclear armed state capable of launching satellites and would force it to take "countermeasures", leading to "a great war for national reunification in case the US opts for conflict finally."

As well as accusing the US of wanting to start a nuclear war, the statement also claimed Washington was creating a "touch-and-go situation on the Korean peninsula." [Source]

Watch it Kim! I know that the the dude in charge here likes to smile and laugh a lot, but believe me when I tell you, he is no joke.

Bush again!

I never thought that I would agree with a Bush, but Jeb was right about the press: They are a bunch of "crack" and "heroin addicts". But we all knew that. And we all know that the politricksters out here are their drug dealers.

Everyone is already getting in line for 2016, and from the looks of things America is going to have to deal with another Bush for another election cycle. (Memo to Jeb: Your name will weigh you down like checked bags on a commercial flight.) I am pretty sure that we are going to have a Clinton in the race as well. But 2016 is a long way away in politics.

And speaking of the press, there is some disturbing news coming from over at Essence Magazine. It seems that yet another strong sister [in pic] is being forced out by the corporate suits for not toeing the corporate line. I have said this before but it bears repeating: Until you Negroes in America start owning and controlling your own media outlets, you will always be a slave to Mr. Charlie's message.

Finally, tonight my racism chase takes me to the country state of Texas.

"A Texas mom is furious after middle school bullies handed her son a fake invitation to a KKK-themed birthday party 'with lots of fun and games.'
Tahiyyah Howard said that this wasn’t the first time her seventh grade son Justin has been the target of racial bullying. She told ABC News that several white classmates have repeatedly picked on the Tomball, Texas student just because he’s black.

"I'm just, really, you know, sick of it," Howard told KTRK.
In another incident, a female classmate wrote the words “Black Justin” on the board.

'My son was really upset,' Howard said.

Officials at Tomball Junior High School confirmed that the note was written, but said that a teacher picked the note up before Justin could see it. Administrators then contacted Howard and disciplined the two students responsible.

Just them being kids. Just human beings, Theresa Ellis told KTRK.
Falisha Tanner, another parent, wasn’t too surprised. 'That's the norm here,' she told KTRK. 'We are the minorities and we're treated as the minorities.”' [Source]

Ms. Howard, it might be time to consider relocating. Hopefully it's not too late and your son has not already been permanently scarred by the emotional trauma that accompanies experiencing racism and bullying at such an early age.

The tax man cometh for "FredEx", and the racism- detector.

"Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's

Now comes word that former Eagle, Freddy Mitchell, (AKA "FredEx") has some tax issues , and that he could be looking at some jail time.

This continues a disturbing trend among many of you Negroes who have been blessed with a certain amount of wealth here in America. From Wesley Snipes to Ja Rule, you all have been holding back on Uncle Sam or trying to find ways to hide what was rightfully his. You all need to understand that a good accountant is just as -if not more- important than any other professional that you might employ. And if you do happen to have a good accountant, please listen to their advice; do not let greed get the better of you. (I see you Mary J.)

The tax man has been taking down us Negroes for a long time. History is full of stories of famous Negroes who have been smacked down by the tax man. Remember how he treated poor Redd Foxx? They raided his house and literally started taking everything in plain view. And then there was Joe Louis. The "Brown Bomber" never had a chance. The IRS gave him the hardest punch he ever got.

Of course none of us enjoy to paying taxes, and lord knows we pay plenty.
We aren't asked to pay as much as these celebrities, but we don't make as much money as they do, either.

We understand that it's a sacrifice we must make and cannot escape.

"Fed up with Foxx's failure to pay $755,166.21 in back taxes, IRS agents raided his three-bedroom Las Vegas home, carting off cars and furniture and nearly everything else they could cram into their trucks. "They took my necklace and the ID bracelet off my wrist and the money out of my pocket," says Foxx, 67. "I was treated like I wasn't human."

Looking forlorn amid the rejected junk scattered across his floor, Foxx, the star of the '70s hit Sanford and Son, cannot muster any of the defiant energy that once made him one of TV's highest-paid actors. "I've done nothing to deserve this," he moans, claiming that he has been paying off his tax debt with the $15,000 to $20,000 he earns each week performing at the Hacienda Hotel at the end of the Vegas Strip. Foxx speculates that the agency is after his reported $500,000 Harlem Nights fee. "They're mad about the money I made on the movie," he says."

Sorry Redd, it took you too long to learn that Caesar is no joke.

Finally, tonight my racism chase takes me to a little town called Coopertown, Tennessee. I have to give Shane Sullivan, the town's new police chief credit, but I am afraid that it might be hard for him to find even one officer who is eligible to join his force. I mean we are talking about a small town in Tennessee here.

"COOPERTOWN, Tenn. (AP) — A police chief hired to rebuild a tiny Tennessee department dismantled by scandal is using a lie-detector test to keep racists off his force.

Coopertown Police Chief Shane Sullivan took over the department in November, becoming the 11th chief in as many years. He was hired on the heels of a series of police scandals that for a few months left Coopertown with no police at all. Years before that, a mayor was voted out of office after the local prosecutor accused him of racism and running a notorious speed trap.

Law enforcement experts say Sullivan’s polygraph approach is unusual, though some departments use the devices for other purposes during the application process. Others try to root out bias in other ways. One polygraph expert warned that lie detectors can’t accurately predict racism for reasons that include people’s inability to recognize their own racism.

Sullivan said he doubts racists will even apply for the force if they know about the tests." [Source]

Chief, never underestimate the power of a racist who needs a job.

A concealed weapon twist, and the c*** blocking lion.

Harris of Ada, Okla. was arrested while in a car with another woman, Jennifer Delancy, outside this Dairy Lou restaurant. When Harris got to the jail, she was searched and allegedly found to have some plastic bags of meth in the crack of her buttocks and a gun in her vagina.

The revolver was loaded — with three live bullets and one spent shell in the case. They also found bags of meth stuffed up her backside. [Source]

Hold up, a loaded gun in her vagina? Oh lawd! How far will you gun lovers go?

Now that's a concealed weapon for your ass. What if she didn't
remember to remove it before her man decided to give her the red light special?
The poor guy would have lost his johnson, or his face, depending on where he…well, you know.
Anyhoo, all is well that ends well. They caught the culprit before she could manage to do any damage to the sexual ecosystem. Imagine the reverberations if this thing had played itself out: Lorena Bobbit redux with a much scarier twist.

"Being brought to jail, she told police she needed to go to the bathroom — and then claimed she was on her period so could not change into "prison clothes."
Finally agreeing to a body cavity search, it was then that officers found the weapon and the bags of crystal meth .

Officer Kathy Unbewust said she "observed at that time a wooden and metal item sticking out from her vagina area."

Argh!

Oh well, at least it wasn't holstered. Officer Umbewust, you missed something... let me stop.

Finally, to stay with the adult rated theme tonight, I have another disturbing story to report.

Now before I tell the story, I need all of you reading this to admit it; you all have had sex in some very dangerous and exotic places. Still, I bet that wherever you got your freak on there was no danger of being eaten by a voyeuristic lion.

"A lion reportedly attacked a man and woman having sex in a bush in Africa, killing the woman.

"Unfortunately the woman, who was also known as Mai Desire, was mauled to death by the lion, but her boyfriend managed to escape naked and he was only wearing a condom," a source reportedly told the outlet. "The two were having their quality time near Mahombekombe Primary School."

The man eventually notified police who, along with officials from the Zimbabwe Parks & Wildlife Management Authority, accompanied him to the scene where they allegedly found the woman's mauled body, according to the report." [Source]

OK, brownie points for Mai's partner because he was wearing a condom. Of course he loses brownie points for running away and leaving poor Mai at the mercy of the lion.

Throw Emma from the train, and the NRA bully.

Some of you people in America done lost your minds. Why would you throw an 82 year old lady off of a train like she was a piece of luggage? (Don't believe me? Look at the video that goes with this link.)

Poor Miss Emma didn't bother anybody. She was just singing her songs like she has been doing all of her life, when this evil kill joy had to come along and go all Danny DeVito on her.

Now granted, Miss Emma might have been a bit loud, and folks traveling on the train do not want to feel like they are in church on Sunday morning. But did the train enforcer have to treat an elderly woman in such a manner? That was a rhetorical question. Of course he didn't. I wonder how Mr. Train Enforcer would like it if someone treated his momma the way he treated Miss Emma.

"Miami-Dade transit officials say they have a noise policy which prohibits singing, dancing and playing instruments.

the Anderson family believes Emma suffered injuries and they have filed a police report over the matter and hired an attorney"

You go get em Miss. Emma. Hopefully you will get paid and never have to take the train again.

Finally, there is another tough guy in the news like the one who tossed Miss Emma from the train.

This one is in New York, and he is the NRA's point man for New York City and its surrounding areas. This dude owns 39 pistols, shotguns, and rifles, and he felt a need to put a beat down on his disabled wife. Nice.

"In an interview, Maribeth D’Alauro — who has multiple sclerosis and walks with a cane — declined to detail the confrontation with her former husband, but she said that assault “is an accurate description.”

She said she suffered from “years of domestic violence” but was “too afraid to ever call the police on him.”

“I’m finally able to talk about things I wasn’t able to talk about,” she said." [Story]

Maribeth, I am going to talk about it as well, because all bullies need to be stopped.

The infringer!

I hope that all of you gun nut freaks saw this one:

"Attorney General Eric Holder said in a letter Tuesday that Obama administration believes it could "hypothetically" carry out drone strikes against Americans on U.S. soil, but "has no intention of doing so."

So the next time you think about taking up arms against the "tyrant" living in the White House, think about that for a minute. There is nothing like a little drone strike from Uncle Sam to get your attention. One minute you are in the family room watching FOX News and the next minute you are saying hello to your maker.

It's actually kind of scary if you think about it. Some geek in Northern Virginia with a joy stick is now Rambo. All the automatic weapons in the world won't help protect you from the geek and his toys. "Hey Billy Ray, did you get the guns? Sure did, Bubba. I would like to see that Obama fellow come and get us now...wait, what's that sound?" I don't mean to make fun of my right wing friends, because if I am going to be totally honest, that Obama fellow has me scared, too.

Anyway, look at this picture, all those people mourning the loss of their "evil dictator." Man I would sure hate to see how they would have reacted if Hugo Chavez was a good guy. You know, kind of like the leaders we elect in this country. The ones who care about the people and not the corporations who bankroll their campaigns every election season.

Finally, WTF is up with the po po in this country treating children like hardened criminals?

"An 8-year-old girl was handcuffed and jailed for two hours after she apparently threw a tantrum at her elementary school, KMOV-TV reports.

Jmyha Rickman‘s journey to her town’s city jail began at Love Joy Elementary School late Tuesday in Alton, Ill. At some point, school officials called the Alton Police Department to help handle the situation. It is not clear if the cops immediately took the child into custody or if they tried to calm her down."

Hmmm, "Jmyha Rickman", let me guess.....

"Eventually, she was handcuffed, placed in the backseat of a police car and driven to jail, where she was held for two hours. The little girl said she was not allowed to put on her coat before being taken into custody. Neheniah Keeton, Rickman’s guardian, says the cops manhandled her.

'Her eyes were swollen from her crying and her wrists had welts on them,' Rickman said. 'They cuffed her feet too and she asked to use the restroom several times and was ignored.”' [Source]

I know that she is only eight, but you are never too young to be introduced to our criminal justice system.

The fear of a black planet defense, and one less despot to kick around.

"The family of murder-accused paralympian Oscar Pistorius has claimed it needs guns because the ANC government fails to protect white people, it was reported on Tuesday.

The athlete’s father Henke Pistorius told British newspaper The Daily Mirror that his family could not rely on the police for protection and owned guns for their own safety.

“Some of the guns are for hunting and some are for protection, the handguns. It speaks to the ANC government, look at white crime levels, why protection is so poor in this country, it’s an aspect of our society,” Pistorius sen. was quoted saying.

“You can’t rely on the police, not because they are inefficient always, but because crime is so rife.” [Source]

But....but...he killed a white woman.

Anyway, don't get mad at Mr. Pistorius, he is only saying what I am sure many white South Africans say in private. I mean an older South African being accused of racism is hardly news.

Mr. Pistorius, what your country needs is an NRA type of organization that will try to make sure that your country's white population will stay strapped to the hilt.

You can learn a lot from your white brothers and sisters here in America. The NRA is the public face of what many of them think privately: If we don't have our guns we could be overrun by our black population one day.

In South Africa there is black majority rule of a white minority, and this has been the norm for almost 20 years. Here in America, even though blacks are still in the minority, most Americans believe that they are living under black rule.  If you replace "ANC government" for Obama administration you get an idea of where I am coming from and where we are in America.

This is why we have a rush to buy assault weapons and an irrational fear of a government "gun grab" among certain segments of the population. And why, no matter what, guns will never be put under control in this country.

Finally, Hugo Chavez died today, and most of the people in Venezuela will miss him.

I know that he was demonized here in America, but Chavez did some good things for the Venezuelan people.

Under Chavez education and health care for poorer Venezuelans improved. (The government gave away two million lap tops to school aged children.) Enrollment in primary schools "jumped 50% and university attendance tripled." And after registering "one of the world's worst economic declines between 1970 and 1998", the government made great economic strides with unemployment being cut in half and the infant mortality rate falling dramatically. And then there was that whole cheap oil for the poor thing with Joe Kennedy. What's not to like about that? Only [right] wingnuts and big oil companies hated the idea.

Venezuela has a ton of oil, and they are right in our back yard. We didn't like the last guy because he didn't think like us, but let's see what happens now.

One thing we do know is that the folks at Langley are going to be working overtime for the next few months.

"Being White in Philly"

I live in Philadelphia, and here in Philly, as is the case with most large cities,we have a magazine that is Philadelphia in name only. The truth is it caters to a very white, somewhat upscale, and very suburban reader base.

I wrote all that by way of an introduction to my next post which is about said Magazine.

It seems that they have been getting a not too friendly post- racial buzz from their readership and they wanted to address it. They did just that by way of a long, haughty, condescending article, that was supposed to be about a dialogue between the races, but ironically was only about the pitfalls of being white in Philly.

In fact, the title of the article is "Being White in Phily." (Would Philly Magazine allow me to write about being black in Philadelphia? Corrupt politicians (black and white) who use their power to prey on the weak, politicians in Harrisburg who put a negative label on every child of color born in Philadelphia before they start to walk, or a system of exclusion long practiced by trade unions to keep minorities out of higher paying jobs....I could go on, but this is about the white folks.)

It is a long article, so I will give you the link so that you can read it in its entirety when you have the time.

But it starts like this:

"My younger son goes to Temple, where he’s a sophomore. This year he’s living in an apartment with two friends at 19th and Diamond, just a few blocks from campus. It’s a dangerous neighborhood. Whenever I go see Nick, I get antsy and wonder what I was thinking, allowing him to rent there.

One day, before I pick him up for lunch, I stop to talk to a cop who’s parked a block away from Nick’s apartment.

“Is he already enrolled for classes?” the cop says when I point out where my son lives.

Well, given that it’s December, I think so. But his message is clear: Bad idea, this neighborhood. A lot of burglaries and robberies. Temple students are prime prey, the cop says.

Later, driving up Broad Street as I head home to Mount Airy, I stop at a light just north of Lycoming and look over at some rowhouses. One has a padlocked front door. A torn sheet covering the window in that door looks like it might be stained with sewage. I imagine not a crackhouse, but a child, maybe several children, living on the other side of that stained sheet. Plenty of children in Philadelphia live in places like that. Plenty live on Diamond, where my son rents, where there always seem to be a lot of men milling around doing absolutely nothing, where it’s clearly not a safe place to be.

I’ve shared my view of North Broad Street with people—white friends and colleagues—who see something else there: New buildings. Progress. Gentrification. They’re sunny about the area around Temple. I think they’re blind, that they’ve stopped looking. Indeed, I’ve begun to think that most white people stopped looking around at large segments of our city, at our poorest and most dangerous neighborhoods, a long time ago. One of the reasons, plainly put, is queasiness over race. Many of those neighborhoods are predominantly African-American. And if you’re white, you don’t merely avoid them—you do your best to erase them from your thoughts.

At the same time, white Philadelphians think a great deal about race. Begin to talk to people, and it’s clear it’s a dominant motif in and around our city. Everyone seems to have a story, often an uncomfortable story, about how white and black people relate.

Take a young woman I’ll call Susan, whom I met recently. She lost her BlackBerry in a biology lab at Villanova and Facebooked all the class members she could find, “wondering if you happened to pick it up or know who did.” No one had it. There was one black student in the class, whom I’ll call Carol, who responded: “Why would I just happen to pick up a BlackBerry and if this is a personal message I’m offended!”

Susan assured her that she had Facebooked the whole class. Carol wrote: “Next time be careful what type of messages you send around and what you say in them.” [Article]

This anecdote sets the tone for the entire article. The author talks to different anonymous white folks who live around the city and who express various degrees of frustration over the browning of their city and the pitfalls of navigating through it.

There is also a general theme throughout the piece that whites would like to engage blacks and talk about race but us black folks make it hard for them to do so.

Of course nothing could be further from the truth. Does talking about race make us a little more upset than it does you? Of course it does. Talking about racism with a white person is like that pig and chicken discussion about breakfast: When you are the pig you are the f*****g breakfast. The chicken (see white folks) can drop an egg and keep it poppin.

I would like to give Philadelphia Magazine credit for attempting to at least start a dialogue, but hey, it's Philadelphia Magazine, so unfortunately I can't.

"But racial history is uncomfortable. That's because it's filled with structural violence that is based in real physical violence. This is the case for far (far) more brown people than white people. It's time to get uncomfortable, white folks (I'm looking at you, author!). Time to step out of our neurotic obsession with blackness and talk to people of color about their experience of the world. Lucky for us, it's not going to involve real physical violence, despite the undertone of this piece. - A white lady who has lived at 22nd and Federal and 23rd and Poplar
· What Huber doesn't really have the stones to write about is the poverty that pervades so many neighborhoods in Philadelphia and crushes people's lives, because his subscribers on the Main Line or in Cherry Hill don't want their peaceful dream of entitlement disturbed. So instead, he blends anecdotes into a soothing milkshake of "See, even nice people with the best possible motives can't get along with black people because they're SO DARNED TOUCHY. It's not you, it's them!" Talk about an advanced case of White Male Privilege.

There's a reason why only people in the suburbs subscribe to this local version of SkyMall. They wouldn't want to read anything that actually looks at economic inequality, heavens no.

· This is the type of irresponsible drivel you get when you only see the world through biased/racist eyes. When you can't even see the bias/racism in your stories anymore. Philadelphia magazine is officially trash."

Apparently I am not alone.

The return of Mitt, and Bob's manufactured war.

I bet my [right]wingnut friends are glad that Mitt Romney is no longer on the national political stage. Poor Mitt still doesn't get it. Now he blames Obamacare for losing the minority vote. (Like it's only brown people who don't want to pay the increasing cost of health case.) If he could have just let those folks in the 47% know that he loved them. Or, you could look at it the way Tommy Christopher does: That Mitt is still "bragging about winning white people".

"The president had the power of incumbency, 'Obamacare' was very attractive, particularly to those without insurance, and they came out in large numbers to vote," Romney said. "So that was part of a successful campaign."

'I think the 'Obamacare' attractiveness and feature was something we underestimated, particularly among lower incomes,' Romney said." [Source]

"Lower incomes". Poor Mitt, he  refers to human beings with the same detached way one would talk about numbers on a balance sheet.

It wasn't Obamacare that caused Mitt Romney to lose the minority and immigrant vote; it was the way he referred to them during the republican primary, and his failure to connect with them on a human level.

Still, I suspect that it wasn't only poor or minority voters who wanted universal and affordable health care. Check out these two comments after the article I quoted from:

"Interesting I am neither low income nor a minority and I fought hard to get Obamacare passed". And....."Exactly. I have worked my whole adult life for universal health care. Romney and his ilk are F ing liars."

Yes they are.

Finally, this Bob Woodward crap has gone far enough. Now the senile "journalist" has invited the president to his home.

"The all-out war between President Obama‘s White House and Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward took another mild turn this morning when, after “Mean” Gene Sperling followed up his threatening email with a blistering barrage of compliments Sunday morning, Woodward reloaded, and told Sperling right where to go: to Woodward’s house, and could he please bring President Obama with him, and maybe some other White House officials? Woodward extended the invitation on CBS News’ Face The Nation, explaining to host Bob Schieffer that “talking works.”

Before Woodward breaks out the smoking jacket and Al Green CDs, though, he ought to get his facts straight. Woodward told Schieffer that he had never said Gene Sperling’s email was “threatening,” but the description he gave to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer crried that clear implication, and deliberately omitted the treacly sweetness of the rest of Sperling’s email. Blitzer certainly read it that way, and when he told Woodward that “those of us who have known you for a long time, we know you’re not going to be intimidated or threatened by any senior official at the White House,” Woodward’s response was “Indeed.” [Source]

Where is Carl Bernstein when you need him? He was the real star of this duo.
Bob should have hung up his typewriter (yes typewriter) when Bernstein checked out. Sadly for him, though, it's too late. Now the entire country knows that he is a few books short of a library.

Better candidates or a better message?

I thought that republicans didn't believe in racial politics.

Karl Rove is telling republicans that they need to diversify their candidates for political offices around the country. Apparently, in his world, it's not the message that matters but who is delivering it. Karl, once again, is way off base.

It's the message not the messenger. If you don't believe me ask Mr. 999, and folks like Alan Keyes. Both are very black, and both are very republican, but both men are big time losers among minority voters because they are wrong on the issues.

If republicans ran Casper the Friendly Ghost in a 100% black district, and he ran on issues that they think would benefit them, Casper would beat the dumbocratic candidate every time.

The same goes for Hispanics. As long as the republican party is made up of aging old white xenophobes, the Hispanic vote will continue to elude them.
Mr. Rove can change who delivers the message, but he can't change who they are delivering the message to.

"He also said the party must recruit candidates who reflect the diversity of the country, and in particular, California. By next year, Hispanics will overtake whites as the state's largest demographic group.

"We need to be asking for votes in the most powerful way possible, which is to have people asking for the vote who are comfortable and look like and sound like the people that we're asking for the vote from," Rove said."

"The people who look like and sound like the people we are asking the vote from"? And here I thought that we were just all Americans who did not see race or the physical differences among each other.

Finally, I am heading down to D.C. week after next for CPAC and I am looking for a nice conservative family to crash with. If any of you wingnut troll happens to know someone please holla at your boy. I would take my Jersey neighbor, Gov. Krispy Kreme with me, but I heard that he is not welcome in the party anymore.

This, of course, is not sitting well with some of his fellow republicans.

“That’s a suicidal death wish,” King replied curtly. “CPAC, to me, loses all credibility. You have a governor who is conservative, he’s balanced a budget, he’s taken on public employee unions, he’s pro-life, and yet he has a 74 percent favorable rating in a Democratic blue state.”

“So, here’s a person who has shown that blue collar conservatism works,” King continued. “That it appeals to working men and women – that it appeals to women – and these are the areas we’ve been suffering.”

King said that Christie was not invited to CPAC because he fought for aid to areas hit by Hurricane Sandy. “To me, that writes off CPAC,” King said. [Source]

Mr. Christie, please call Karl Rove; he needs you as exhibit A.

A sinking feeling and O plays mind games.

"I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around"

Those lines from that classic Carole King song had a whole different meaning to poor Jeff Bush. One minute dude is dreaming about whatever, and the next minute he is falling into a 30 foot sinkhole that swallowed his entire room.Whoa!

"The hole opened up at around 11 p.m. Thursday night in the Seffner, Fla., neighborhood, authorities said.

"[The family] heard a sound that they described as a car crash emanating from the bedroom in the back of the house," Hillsborough County Fire Chief Ron Rogers said at a news conference today.

The family rushed into the room where Jeff Bush, 36, was sleeping, according to ABC News' Tampa affiliate WFTS-TV.

"All they could see was part of a mattress sticking out of the hole. Essentially, the floor of the room had opened up," Rogers said. "They could hear the nephew in the hole, but they could not see him."

Bush's brother, Jeremy Bush, jumped in and tried to rescue him, but was unsuccessful.

"I jumped in the hole and was trying to dig him out, but I couldn't find him," Jeremy Bush [in pic] told WFTS through tears. "I thought I could hear him hollering for me to help him.

"I didn't see any part of him when I went in there," he said. "All I seen was his bed and I told my father-in-law to grab a shovel so I could start digging and I just started digging and started digging and the cops showed up and pulled me out of the hole and said the floor was still falling in." Folks, if you own any real estate around Tampa, Florida, this might be a good time to sell.

And now on to the latest outrage and most pressing issue facing Americans: The president not knowing the different between a Jedi mind game and a Vulcan mind meld. (Silly me,I had the guy pegged for a nerd.)

Twitterland exploded after his Oness confused the two in his presser today, and conservatives pounced on this as an example as why he is not a competent president. "How can he not know the difference between the mind game and mind meld? Clearly the man is not fit to lead." [Source]

O, you better apologize to all the Trekkies out there and call it a day. Don't let this thing drag itself out into another news cycle. This is serious stuff. Those mixed metaphors can be worse than high unemployment numbers and wars.
