The Negro threat.

I swear you can't make this stuff up. Did Jan Brewer really say that she felt " a little threatened" by Obama?

“I was in the middle of a sentence and he walked away. I wasn’t angry at all. I felt a little bit threatened, if you will, in the attitude that he had.” [Source]

"Threatened"?!!! Let's see now, he is the President of these divided states. Those football player looking dudes with the earplugs in their ears are protecting him, not your drug addicted looking ass.

Republicans no longer have any respect for the presidency because they don't respect the person currently holding the office. It's that simple. That's sad, because I thought that republicans loved A-merry-ca and what the office of the president represents. *shaking head*

Then there is this new study out of Canada which confirms what I have suspected all along.

"There's no gentle way to put it: People who give in to racism and prejudice may simply be dumb, according to a new study that is bound to stir public controversy.

The research finds that children with low intelligence are more likely to hold prejudiced attitudes as adults. These findings point to a vicious cycle, according to lead researcher Gordon Hodson, a psychologist at Brock University in Ontario. Low-intelligence adults tend to gravitate toward socially conservative ideologies, the study found. Those ideologies, in turn, stress hierarchy and resistance to change, attitudes that can contribute to prejudice, Hodson wrote in an email to LiveScience.

"Prejudice is extremely complex and multifaceted, making it critical that any factors contributing to bias are uncovered and understood," he said.

Earlier studies have found links between low levels of education and higher levels of prejudice, Hodson said, so studying intelligence seemed a logical next step. The researchers turned to two studies of citizens in the United Kingdom, one that has followed babies since their births in March 1958, and another that did the same for babies born in April 1970. The children in the studies had their intelligence assessed at age 10 or 11; as adults ages 30 or 33, their levels of social conservatism and racism were measured. [Life's Extremes: Democrat vs. Republican]

In the first study, verbal and nonverbal intelligence was measured using tests that asked people to find similarities and differences between words, shapes and symbols. The second study measured cognitive abilities in four ways, including number recall, shape-drawing tasks, defining words and identifying patterns and similarities among words. Average IQ is set at 100."

Social conservatives were defined as people who agreed with a laundry list of statements such as "Family life suffers if mum is working full-time," and "Schools should teach children to obey authority." Attitudes toward other races were captured by measuring agreement with statements such as "I wouldn't mind working with people from other races." (These questions measured overt prejudiced attitudes, but most people, no matter how egalitarian, do hold unconscious racial biases; Hodson's work can't speak to this "underground" racism.)

As suspected, low intelligence in childhood corresponded with racism in adulthood. But the factor that explained the relationship between these two variables was political: When researchers included social conservatism in the analysis, those ideologies accounted for much of the link between brains and bias.

People with lower cognitive abilities also had less contact with people of other races.

"This finding is consistent with recent research demonstrating that intergroup contact is mentally challenging and cognitively draining, and consistent with findings that contact reduces prejudice," said Hodson, who along with his colleagues published these results online Jan. 5 in the journal Psychological Science." [Source]  *h/t to Greg Fuller for the pic and story.*

I bet Jan Brewer doesn't have a very high IQ.

Still, the moral of this story is that racism is just a bad thing all around for everybody.

Finally, shout out to David Honig and the folks at MMTC who are once again hosting a wonderful summit here in D.C.

David, I promise that I will try to attend all of the sessions tomorrow.

"So what is it that allows people to instantly recognize the difference between an Ethiopian and a Korean?"

Well at a guess, I would say that it's a combination of differences in the melanin levels of their skin, the shape of their faces and the structure of their hair.

I'm just guessing. Sorry if this is difficult for you.

"You may not want to use the word, but a race by any other name would still be a race."

I don't give a shit if you use the word race or not, my point is that science does not recognize that there are different races.

"I'll bet you know different families (maybe all from the Rift Valley) where you can tell who belongs to each group, despite only extremely miniscule genetic differences."

Can't help but think that you are completely missing my point.

"Just to let you know cow, you are exhibiting some profoundly dysfunctional dogmatic thinking."

Actually that would be you numbnuts, As evidenced by the stated symptoms of Conservatism Syndrome you are entirely incapable of nuanced thinking, or anything other than the most superficial levels of analysis.

Do you not see the irony here McPeabrain?

You and No Slapzz come here as representatives of 'The Master Race'. Right?

Your "analysis" leads you to the conclusion that you are intellectually superior to Afro-Caribbean people. And yet people such as Field, Uptown Steve and myself regularly kick your intellectual asses in these debates. Has it not occurred to you that this knocks a hole in your eugenics theories?

"Inasmuch as you believe that academic work, standardized tests and achievements for intellectual efforts are NOT evidence of intelligence, how about telling me what IS evidence of human brain-power?"

Not being as stupid as you.

Moreover, if the wheel had not been brought to Africa by non-blacks, everything would still be transported on people's heads.

Really? By what methods have you measured my "stupidity"?

"AS far as your recollection of comments about Krugman and Stiglitz and Nobel prizes in Economics, well, I never said what you claimed."

Liar.

"If you want to know about Japan and its racism, you can Google the topic and you'll get a lifetime of reading material."

I've made five business trips to Japan over the years Slappy, which is five more than you.

I'm not saying there is no racism in Japan, I'm saying that the Japanese people I had dealings with were genuine, articulate, pleasant people (as long as you are not a woman).

Japanese people I would say are different from anglos saxons, as evidenced by Geert Hofstede's research (you'll remember 'Culture's Consequences' and all that, I'm sure I don't have to remind you). But different does not equal evil or more racist. (One develops and antennae for this sort of thing.)

So no, Japanese people are no more racist than white Americans (though they probably are more racist than white Europeans), and that is not a sign that they are more intelligent.

Cuz believe me, they ain't.

EVERYTHING was invented in Africa. Including society, poetry, hunting, language and the smelting of metal.

Nighty night.

Everything you say, and everything you do.

Now, it's 1 a.m. and I really have to go to bed.

Try and think of something 'clever' to say before I wake up.

Well I've been to Japan, China AND Korea, I never picked up on any of those vibes.

Not surprising, as you are so clueless about everything else.

But you express your own crystal clear belief that three different races exist.

Moreover, everyone seems to know his own race. Perhaps everyone is crazy. Or possibly you're the nut.

Or the scientific evidence does not comport with your claim. Ah, in fact, that's it.

As someone else said, the identified factors that differentiate the races are only a tiny percentage of our genetic soup.

But that small percentage means everything. You know, because most of the bulk of our bodies is water. So when you strip away all the stuff that's the same, you're left with a small pocket of stuff that's really different.

The most evident difference is, as you know, in brain power, which, as black history shows, is deficient in Africa.

"In my experience, going on 30 years now, I have never been hired because I was a white male, and in some cases despite of it."

But according to him, his black coworkers who do the same job as he, probably better, were hired simply because they were black.

The arrogance of these goobers is breathtaking.

I truly believe that all this living in the same environment with "other" races has driven each and every one of us stark raving mad. This was not a good idea. Instead of going to the moon, everyone should be forced to go to their country of origination; last one out, don't look back, close the door. Hello, to the Native Americans.

I believe low IQ = racism argument.Blacks have the lowest average IQ of all races 10-15 points lower than whites and they are the most racist people on the planet.

Governor Jan Brewer attempted to show President Barack Obama his place by pointing her finger to it. Obama already knew how to find the White House, so he ignored her. She then fell into the whirlpool of manipulative passive-aggression that she created for herself.
