The black mother intentionally endangered her child.

I hate these cases of Compare Black Person A with White Person B. Anecdotal evidence is never really a valid way of assessing racism in society; to get an honest picture, you really have to look at statistics.
Why? Because it's always easy to pick a couple individual cases that support whatever point you'd like to make. If you were so inclined, it'd be easy to go find a black person who was treated fairly by our justice system, and contrast him/her with a white person who completely got the shaft from some rotten prosecutor or judge. And then you could claim this proves that "white people are the real victims of racism." (In fact, I'm sure this sort of dishonest tactic is going on right now, over on Stormfront and in similar hate-based regions of the Internet. This is exactly how the bigots operate.)
Also, not that it matters, but the kid wasn't actually on the top of Ridiculously Irresponsible White Mom's car for 12 miles. It just took her 12 miles of driving before she figured out her son wasn't in the car. The laws of physics guarantee that the kid would've flown off almost immediately after she hit the road.

Taking the children away from mothers of any race is far and away the exception, and not the rule. And there are literally thousands of videos on YouTube alone to drive this point home, particularly for black mothers.
Besides, do you have any more background on these women? How do we know that the mother who was jailed wasn't a prior offender, whereas the other stupid bitch was a first-timer? Further context helps your case more than any other case, since the subtext is obvious: White privilege.
For all I know, this black mother has had multiple beefs. Plus that "homeless" line really says more than some people want to admit. WTF was she doing homeless? A mother not even smart enough to go get on assistance? And do we know she was only at a job interview, or did she stop by the beauty salon for a 7-hour hair appointment. Her hair is looking semi-fresh. It hasn't pulled away yet. You know, like that other mother who did that while her 2 babies burned alive after being left home.
I'll see if I can locate the links to read more about it. A picture is worth a thousand words. No doubt. But the validity of those words is always in question.

You call intentionally getting so high she put the car seat with the baby in it on the roof of the car then gets in and drives away, an accident?
In my book that's causing harm and endangering the life of a child by gross and malicious negligence.
Ms Taylor, same thing.What's the use of going to a job interview while leaving her kids in a hot car and perhaps finding them dead upon her return? That's just as crazy.
But if I were the judge, I would've sent them both for psychiatric evaluations, then order drug rehab as needed,parenting skills classes, and Social Service monitoring, which is prolly what they did for the white chick!
