A Rick Ross blows an apology, and the president's daughters are under attack.

"The heat has definitely been on Rick Ross this week after he left fans outraged when he rapped the lyrics, “put a molly in her champagne  she ain’t even know it, I took her home and enjoyed that,” in a new song titled, “You Don’t Even Know.” Since the track dropped, folks have been outraged that a rapper could blatantly talk about date rape in a song with no repercussions.

Today, during a promo stop in New Orleans, Rick Ross made his way down to Q 93.3 radio station to clear up the drama while saying that his lyrics were misinterpreted.
I wanted to come down to the radio station. There is certain things you can’t tweet, you have to verbalize. I want to make sure this is clear, that woman is the most precious gift known to man, you understand? It was a misunderstanding with a lyric, a misinterpretation where the term rape wasn’t used. I would never use the term rape. As far as my camp, hip hop don’t condone that. The streets don’t condone that. Nobody condones that. So I wanted to reach out to all the queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that have been reaching out to me with the misunderstanding. We don’t condone rape and I’m not with that.
On if he believes that people are being too sensitive regarding lyrics

I think that’s a good thing at the same time. Sometimes I think it’s our job as an artist to clarify the sensitive things and the things that we know really need to be clarified, such as a situation as this. The boss ain’t with that. We ain’t with that. Double M ain’t with that. And that’s what it’s about.
So, where’s the misinterpretation?" [Source]

I was wondering the exact same thing.

Dude said on one of his tracks that he raped a woman. He should apologize and say that it was a stupid thing to say and that he will never say it again. End of story.

Rick, it's cool to apologize. I know that you want to be a gangsta and all, but no one will think you are "sof" if you step up to the plate and say that you said something stupid.

Sorry dude, you are still in the house.

Speaking of being in the house, I wonder if the wingnuts among us have lost all sense of shame. I know that these are tough political times for you when the HNIC is beating you at every turn, but the hypocrisy when it comes to President Obama is now officially out of control.

Why should the president's daughters be denied something that hundreds of thousands of students in this country do every year? Vacations are not just for wealthy kids. I thought that this was a rite of passage with American teenagers.

*Field, that would be for white teenagers. Vacations are not for you Negroes. Negro children are not supposed to enjoy themselves.*

Oh, my bad. So anyway, there was republican congressman, Steve King, ripping the president's daughters for allegedly going on spring break down in the Bahamas.

"A Republican congressman slammed President Obama for reportedly sending his daughters on a spring break vacation in the Bahamas on Wednesday, saying it was the “wrong image to be coming out of the White House.”

Rep. Steve King made the rare critical comment about the First Daughters on an Iowa-based radio show called Mickelson in the Morning.

In audio of the segment posted online by the progressive blog ThinkProgress, King fielded a call from a woman who referenced a Breitbart News report that Sasha and Malia Obama are vacationing in the Bahamas.

The White House does not confirm information about the girls’ travel plans for security and privacy reasons.

The caller said the report was “really hard to stomach.”

You’re right on the President. I mean, he needs to show some austerity himself,” he said.

“He sent the daughters to spring break in Mexico a year ago – that was at our expense too,” King added. “And now to the Bahamas at one of the most expensive places there. That is the wrong image to be coming out of the White House.” [Source]

We are quite familiar with the imagery. And we also know why it drives certain people crazy.

President Obama should have made history, then had a seat. There's no way in hell I would have run again, given all the hate in America for this man and his family only because their Black.

Rick who?

Srsly, I am not a fan of his and this bs is an example of why. But this crap is a real problem with this era's "artists."

The disgrace that is steve king continues to flail away as he marches into obscurity.

For me, the worst part of this is Jan Mikelson.Back in the early days of modern talk radio, I used to produce his weekend show at another station.

I know that you have to do certain things to remain popular and keep a job but, I am torn about my old friend. I applaud him and his talent but I am disappointed that he has become a rw talk radio whore. He really is very talented and doesn't need to be like he is on air now.

"most precious gift known to man" "queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies"

Has this guy ever in his life related to women on a level of complete equality? Would he even understand that that means?

An enterprising reporter with a budget might be able to track down information on where the teenage children and grand children of members of Congress go for spring break. Starting with King. He's probably got some young grandniece or granddaughter getting her wild on in Cancun. I'd love to read all about it.

More outright disrespect from the right wing nuts who said nothing when the Bush twins were partying on the Government's expense.
Republicans think that while they continue to disrespect a Black President and his family that their 10 Million Dollar outreach program to African Americans will make us forget all of what they've said and done. Some will fall for it, but most folks like me will give them the middle finger salute.

Semi retarded. I guess you missed the real issue that people are tired of paying for the royal families jaunts; while they lie and close down the white house.

If the Obama girls did 1/100 of what the Bush twins did during their father's presidency, it'd be all Obama girls all the time at buttfart, nazi news channel, the rump limpbome show, and the rest of fascist media. Yet another example of black people having to be 10x as good to get half the credit.

We have fallen so far out of alignment with our founding ideals, that every man is created equal in the eyes of God. Touré's venomous message echoes what our colleges and grade schools teach, what our media communicates, what so many movies dramatize, and what The Civil Rights establishment promotes: that America is still as racist as ever and if you're white, the only acceptable response is for you to nod your head and agree, and if you're black, you better not ever think for yourself.

Some of these people act just like their representatives. How can a congressman complain about kids going on spring break when he doesn't even work a full week? King is probably hoping that something tragic happens to the First Family but he fails to realize that there's a higher power out there to counteract demons like him and some of his constituents.

Congratulations! This is the best thing, Thank you so much for taking the time to share this exciting information.

RepubMafia types, you guys are too much. When that Bush Master president took 77 trips to his ranch in Crawford, TX at just over 226,000 per trip, the media for the most part was sshhhh. In totality, he was let off the hook for over 17million in vacation trips, to Crawford alone. Now, everyone is upsep (as my daugher would say) that Pres. Drone ObomBer sent his daughters to the Bahamas. White folks, for the most part, you guys are so darn mendacious.

At least the Secret Service didn’t have a difficult time controlling these girls like thay did with Bush’s daughters.

I do not accept this fake extenuation. This man is not only a possible rapist and abuser of women i know that words come from the inner spirit. And that there is no expiation or satisfying explanation for his decision to open his mouth and regurgitate his wrath and self hate
Ross, would be a better pedophile priest, then he would be clear

I heard the repblican mafia force two budding scholars in Georgia to bust a cap in a baby. Damn, just sayin'.

those boys were just working the streets when they shot that white baby and it was whitey's fault any way.

"Damn, just sayin'."

"Just sayin", what?

I am afraid that's a part of life in America. I have heard stories of mothers killing their babies by drowning them in cars and bath tubs.

Is that true?

Just sayin...

-----------

Obama's daughters are much younger, but you can be certain if they ever do misbehave after they grow up, the media will go to whatever lengths possible to bury the story.

Someone questions the exorbitant expense of the lavish lifestyle of our royal rulers and you scream that it's a raciss attack on the King's daughters.

Change your tampon, Field.

I read his "apology," and I suspect that he doesn't know what he said in the rap or at the radio station.
