Gregory thanks for the information. I was waiting for information on what they were charged for and that is a serious set of allegations! One of the charges is interesting because it centers around the question I posed earlier in the thread which had to do with limiting speech that serves a teaching function if the teaching are advocating lawless action ala violence. But I thought the litmus test was whether or not the speech would cause imminent lawless action so it will be interesting to see how such charges will be supported via evidence and what laws they've specifically violated.

Anonymous, I too am concerned about the veracity of the SPLC's claims at times. Like I said earlier in the thread, they characterize the NOI, the Moorish Science Temple, and the Oathkeepers as hate mongers and nothing could be further from the truth. Furthermore, they lump tax protesters in with groups that advocate overthrowing the government, so they tend to conflate a lot of issues. I used to have respect for them because they were warriors in the fight against racial bigotry but now it seems like they are a into sensationalizing everything just like the mainstream media.
In any event whether accusations of sedition are coming from the left or right, it bothers me that dissent can be so easily termed sedition. In the case of these guys that are the subject of the post, however, it seems as though they REALLY were planning to overthrow the government!

The last time I looked at the SPLC's website they listed anti-white and anti-Jewish remarks from Farrakhan, Khalid Muhammad and Malik Zulu Shabazz as the basis for their categorizing the NOI and BPP as hate groups.

I concur. And this is what blurs the lines when you read stories like this and the headlines first say that charges weren't filed yet or the charges weren't made pubic. I've read that sometimes, people who live in communes are unfairly targeted by government officials as seditionists and this further confuses the issue.

I agree. And we need to look at how we can make things better for all of us. Some of the rhetoric in the latest movements have sounded very selfish and self absorbed.
I mean think about whats going on around us folks.
People are losing their jobs every day. The black community is suffering from nearly 20 percent unemployment.
Some people are still though quietly losing their homes. A significant number of children are going to school from homeless shelters. And the list goes on.
It seems absurd that in the midst of all this there were folks protesting the idea that they may aid someone elses ability to get health care.
And though I understand the sentiment behind small government most of us need more government and more effective government, not less. The irony is that while folks are talking about smaller government, the rich and the corporations and the banks are taking as much welfare from the government as it can, while the gov't is actually supposed to work for us.

A street pirate does NOT denote a RACE. It denotes a BEHAVIOR and a consciousness:
1) A SP is selfish, irresponsible and always scheming individual - he cares nothing about the rules of the community of people, violating them at a whim
2) He will assault or murder them in what ever way to satisfy his lust for their property
3) He is indulgent for the tactile stimulation of the nerve endings of his penis - not caring one damn about the "human flesh" used to stimulate it
4) He doesn't care about upholding any particular PROFILE that his actions cause others who look like him will ultimate suffer from

After listening to Farrakhan for 10 hours and then a DVD this weekend here is my assessment of him regarding RACE.
IF our goal is to formulate as accurate model of the world as possible so that we might construct a set of responses that EFFECTIVELY counteract the negative forces against our interests than I must say that Farrakhan errs on the side of BLAMING/FOCUSING UPON White folks in excess of their actual power today.
If you follow the supply chain of the "Pants on the ground clothing" today you will likely see some KOREAN involved in the retail, transshipment and production of all of this gear. All the while Farrakhan is focused on the White man for the past - other forces are doing a good job pitching their wares to us and having money exit the Black community's hands.
I believe that Farrakhan is a 'CONSERVATOR'. He is able to articulate a prescription as to what the Black community needs to do to become whole again. Because folks don't understand that we are all in this together does not make it less true.
I worked a job once where the white folks on the job weren't that receptive to the black folks who were being brought on in larger numbers because the company had been caught denying qualified black applicants (BTW it wasn't Street Pirates that kept them out). Anyway the company promoted in subtle ways dissension among the people of color and women and white men. It was classic divide and conquer.
But the company was paying everyone according to their classification. They never gave the white workers more than the black workers. When the company tried to cut back our wages they went after everyones wages. When they started to layoff they pulled some funky move that allowed them to cut from the top first and most of the folks making the most money and with the most seniority were white.
I was a union rep and we fought these policies tooth and nail. And a few of the white guys who used to make snide remarks when I talked about the need to stick together thanked me personally for helping save their jobs and even apologized.
