The truth about Harry. And maybe George.

I won't lie, I hate bumper stickers. A car should be for driving, not telling us about what religion you belong to, how smart your kids are, or who you vote for. Sometimes I see bumper stickers on very nice new cars and I just have to shake my head. I just don't get it.

Still, as much as I despise bumper stickers, I don't think I would do what this guy did. What the hell is A-merry-ca coming to when just having a bumper sticker declaring your love for his O ness can cost you a trip to the body shop? Oh lawd! These wingnuts are off the chain. I bet the guy was listening to Beck or one of those right wing talk show nut jobs and just got fired up. The poor guy just took out all his pent up rage on the first thing he saw with his O ness on it.

"After picking up his 10-year old daughter from school yesterday afternoon, Nashville resident Mark Duren was driving home when he was suddenly and intentionally rammed from behind by Harry Weisiger. Enraged at the sight of Duren’s Obama bumper sticker, Weisiger gave Duren “the bird” and then hit him from behind, leading to a violent series of events. Nashville’s WKRN report"

The guy didn't even care that there was a 10 year old child in the car. No sir, all he had to see was the face of the beige man in the people's house to go all Toyota on poor Mr. Duren.

“He pointed at the back of my car,” Duren said, “the bumper, flipped me off, one finger salute.”
But it didn’t end there. Duren told News 2 that Weisiger honked his horn at him for awhile, as Duren stopped at a stop sign. Once he started driving again, down Blair Boulevard, towards his home, he said, “I looked in the rear view mirror again, and this same SUV was speeding, flying up behind me, bumped me.”

Obama supporters, I think you are all going to have to start driving bigger cars. Or, just leave your bumper stickers at home. This is crazy. It's not worth losing your lives over this love you have for his O ness.

Finally, I am going to shock some of you tonight. I am going to defend the frat boy. Yes, defend him.

You all know about the video making the rounds on the Internet of the frat boy doing a quick wipe after playing touch with some Haitians. He has been getting killed for it in some circles. Hey George, this is what happens when you diss an entire city of poor suffering black folks by doing a fly over. These kinds of things tend to stay with you. Let's face it; you Bush folks tend to be Crips when it comes to your blood. So for many people it was easy to believe this story.

But don't worry George, even though I am no fan. I am going to lean to The Guardian story on this one and say that the whole thing just seemed a lot worse than it really was. And, that looks, in this case, was deceiving. Besides, the frat boy, like his daddy, has an issue with touching strangers, period. So I don't think it was a Haitian thing.....I don't think.

How is that? Field taking the high road. It must be the weekend.

Bush did the best he could and that's that. Spend more of your time praying for Obama and hope that health bill doesn't do America in.

Today AT&T was the first corporation to take $1billion non-cash charge due to the healthcare bill. There will be many other corporations taking such charges too. So, keep your fingers crossed that this health bill doesn't cause the American system to destruct.

Maybe you ought to stay with the present, let go of the past, and look to the future? Afterall, Obama is now the President and is responsible for making things better.

The Obama Bumper Sticker? Nonsense. The only communication between the two drivers occurred through hand signals. Mr Angry gave Mr Bumper Sticker (BS) the finger, which Mr BS saw in his rear-view mirror.

Let me know when it's possible to look in your rear-view mirror, see a gesturing driver behind you and conclude he is directing your attention to one specific item beyond your range of vision.

As the article said, Mr BS had just picked up his daughter at school. Therefore, it is far more likely Mr BS recklessly and obliviously drove out of the school driveway nearly resulting in a collision with Mr Angry, who then followed up with his hand gestures.

hathor,

anon 12:22 is correct. ATT is taking a $1 Billion CHARGE against earnings in the first quarter of this year.

The charge is a LOSS of $1 billion. In the past, many companies received government payments related to drug benefits given to retirees.

Obama's healthcare legislation ends those drug benefit payments to companies. Guess what? That means in the future, the retirees will take the hit.

In other words, the Obama healthcare plan is already raising healthcare costs for everyone.

Everyone But Filled Negro:

Do you see what Filled Negro is doing to you?

Do you see how complicit you are in his actions?

He is tapping into YOUR emotions (ie: hatred) and you are thanking him with your posts.

A SELF-CHUMMING MASTUBATORY Relationship.

It is important to properly analyze what Filled Negro is doing.

This ONE IGNORANT WHITE MAN saw something to which he CHOOSE to respond to violently. Despite the fact that each and every day there are violent acts in this nation.......we need to inspect the motivations of FILLED NEGRO to understand WHY:

* Certain actions have a "Red Emergency Hotline Phone" to the editor's desk of the Filled Negro Blog

* While other violent actions, DESPITE HAVING A MORE DELETERIOUS impact upon Black people and our interests go begging.

In fact IF someone DOES prioritize assaults upon Black people - HOLDING ALL ASSAILANTS AS EQUALS, doing so will trigger an attack upon that person by posters such as Shabazz or UptownSteve.

Some of you need to step back and understand the gravity of the rules as YOU have accepted them thus far.

WHO'S agenda is being advanced?

What notions of SUPREMACY is being enforced by you?

Do your people receive any greater protection from the threats that are more frequent?

If there IS one foundational "Black Agenda" that we should adopt it would be: REMOVING ALL 'MONEY CHANGERS' OUT OF THE NUCLEUS OF OUR RACIAL CONSCIOUSNESS, lest they molest our agenda and attention span.

Push them OUTSIDE of the walls of the compound and allow them to SELL THEIR WARES only after OUR PEOPLE have been made strong in their consciousness and purpose. Thus after the "sermon" when they exit to the streets they will be made aware of these MONEY CHANGERS.

Hey Filled Negro - when you set up your table outside of the walls after having been put out - are you going to sell incense or fragrant oils? Have you thought about a price for your wares?

Chariman Soetoro's plans to destroy the American economy FOREVER seemm to be working quite WELL:

Farm-equipment manufacturer John Deere "said it expects its expenses to rise by around $150 million on an after-tax basis, mainly in the second quarter, as a result of the legislation."

Verizon "told employees in an email Tuesday that Verizon's costs will go up in the near term, pinpointing a tax-subsidy reduction for retiree health benefits."

Heavy-equipment manufacturer Caterpillar "said that its first-quarter earnings will be hit with a $100 million after-tax charge under tax law changes attached to the new health care reform legislation."

AK Steele Holding Corp., "the third largest U.S. steelmaker by sales, said it will record a non-cash charge of about $31 million resulting from the health-care overhaul signed into law by President Barack Obama. The charge will be recorded in the first quarter of 2010."

Valero Energy "will take a $15 million to $20 million charge to second-quarter earnings for the same reason."

Medical-device maker Medtronic "warned that new taxes on its products could force it to lay off a thousand workers."

AT&T Inc. said it plans to take a non-cash charge of about $1 billion in the first quarter following the passage of the health-care reform bill earlier this week, according to a filing submitted by the company Friday. The telecommunication giant will also evaluate changes to its health care benefits for employees and retirees.

On another front, the administration works to renew unemployment infinitely and make banks let the unemployed slide on their mortgages.

Deliberate destruction or unfathomable incompetence? You make the call!

1) Making Black folks AWARE of a clear and present danger - that the statistics bear out?

2) EMPOWERING Black people to take certain actions that will make our communities safer?

3) REFORMING the mal-actors who have committed the offenses that you highlight.

DO YOU SEE PEOPLE??? Filled Negro cannot answer AFFIRMATIVELY on any of these key points.

Despite this Black Diaspora calls ME an "Ideologue".

Fear not Filled Negro - you and others who are "Attack Sheep Dogs" that go after wayward sheep as PUBLICALLY as possible - your goal being not to punish him as much as it is to SHOW THE OTHERS IN THE FLOCK the consequences of their disloyalty.

The main flaw in your strategy is when the masses are made to see over time that (enforced) UNITY does not necessarily translate into EFFECTIVE OUTCOMES.

What if I told you that I am not bothered in the least bit with your antics against me? Your rebuke is as expected as the sun rising in the morning. As for the bumper-sticker story being one sided, or an accident, some of you folks have a very long reach.

Regarding Healthcare: Stop whining about corporations having to pay their damn taxes! Obamacare isn't costing these fools anything. Rather, a LOOPHOLE was closed.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Thursday that the tax law closed a loophole.

-----
"Under the 2003 Medicare prescription drug program, companies that provide prescription drug benefits for retirees have been able to receive subsidies covering 28 percent of eligible costs. But they could deduct the entire amount they spent on these drug benefits – including the subsidies – from their taxable income.

The new law allows companies to only deduct the 72 percent they spent."

OMG! Teh sky is falling! Teh sky is falling! Corporations don't get to write off what they never even spent!

Right before the election, we had a client who had Obama stickers on his car, and inside, he had Obama yard signs... see he was working on the Obama campaign. Anyway, he was stopped by a cop for allegedly running a stop sign (which we later proved did not exist on the corner). Once the cop stopped him, he told him to get out of the car as he fit the description of a suspect in a robbery that had just happened. Our client did so, and the cop came out of the car with a taser he said was under the seat and arrested our client for possession of a weapon (a felony offense). In addition to "finding" the taser, he also rooted around in the back seat and "managed to tear up" every yard sign in the car.

Two months later in court, the cop discovered that a. he had arrested a prominent activist who has a stellar reputation who insisted the taser was not in his car and was not his and b. the judge was none too pleased that the political materials had been destroyed (our client was lucky enough for a witness to photograph the cop destroying materials with his phone) to c. not guilty on all charges.

Seems just the sight of Obama's name sends crazy around the bend!

Good info dispelling the Willie Lynch myth. Folks who put it our were well intentioned. But it obscures the fact that the slaves and their offsprings fear, and resulting insecurities, self hatred and self-loathing would come about from just being treated as chattel slaves based on the color of their skin.

What's also important to note is that there were in fact slave breakers and specialists, but most slave owners figured out quickly how to get their slaves to heel. And the larger plantations had overseers who were in essence slave breakers as well.

They really didn't need any special instruction.

I would say I feel sorry for them, but I do not feel one ounce of compassion for them because they have none for the people. Their compassion is only for Corporations, money, profit, and self. They could care less about the people and are selfish and dangerous people.

Like I've said in the past, and I'll say it again, everything that the GOP party accuses others of is what they themselves are guilty of doing. FN: "Remember that S&L scandal back in the day? One of the men at the center of it just ran for Prez."

That is something of a cheap shot Field, as McCain's involvement in the Keating five Scandal was, at least in part, designed to provide cover for what otherwise would have been an all-democrat scandal.

Robert Bennett, the Washington lawyer and Democrat who served as special counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee during the Keating Five investigation said McCain should never have been dragged into the ethics case to begin with. He said that after his own lengthy investigation, he came to the conclusion that the case against McCain and former Sen. John Glenn (D-Ohio) "should have been dropped" because the evidence suggested that once McCain understood that the Justice Department was investigating Keating, he backed off any involvement. Dowd noted that McCain threw Keating, once a strong supporter, out of his office after Keating pressed him to intervene in his case.

Bennett said former Sen. Howell Hefflin (D-Ala.) insisted that the two be included in the formal public inquiry because otherwise there would have been a month of public hearings "with no Republicans in the dock." The other members of the Keating Five were Democrats.

"It was clear that McCain should not have been at the table nor should Glenn," Bennett said. "I felt it was unfair for McCain to be included as part of the Keating Five."

Yes? What exactly would that scandal be? And please, let's confine ourselves to actual charges and convictions, ok? Theories generated at the Daily Kos don't count.

Field, "Yawn. We will believe it when we see it. These corporations aren't going anywhere. Maybe a little less $ for the share holders and CEO's."

You sure do yawn alot. Anyway, I am not concerned about corporations losing money as much as I am deeply concerned about the millions of people(and their families) who work for them.

You see, Field, EVERYTHING is connected and reverberations from being connected can have positive and negative effects.

It is my 'greatest' desire for Obama's healthcare bill to have positive effects because I, along with millions of other Americans, have family working and retiring from those corporations. Hence, there is nothing to 'yawn' about...

I feel that it is something to be praying about; to ask God to see that Obama's plan turns out to be a 'really' good healthcare bill that Americans can be proud of. However, I know you don't pray or even know if there is a God, but at least don't fall asleep on something as big as this. You ought to be 'willing' to listen to everybody because you aren't that smart and can't afford to ignore anybody, including wingnuts.

Sometimes I wonder whenever you yawn, esp about something so important as the healthcare bill, and its outcome for America- that maybe the wingnut CF might be on to something about you?

@j-"OMG! Teh sky is falling! Teh sky is falling! Corporations don't get to write off what they never even spent!"

j, are you a leftist Democrat?

I'll say!

Anonymous and just why do you think that Field is not that smart if you don't mind me asking? And how did you come to that conclusion? Curious minds wants to know.

BTW, payback can work in more than one way. Oh yes, it can! For example, it could have a boomerang affect and turn out as an embarrassment to those who are revengeful and vindictive.

I watched that video remake of "Yes We Can" and I couldn't stop laughing. I tried, but I couldn't help it. Seriously! Some people love making an azz out of themself. I am puzzled and can't help but wonder if some folks are a glutton for embarrassment and humiliation? I guess you just keep on saying "Hell No" until the next embarrassment episode.

What one does to another they do to themselves.

Granny, "Anonymous and just why do you think that Field is not that smart if you don't mind me asking? And how did you come to that conclusion? Curious minds wants to know."

Granny, thanks for asking the question and bringing it to my attention. I have revised my last sentence in the second paragraph of my comment as a point of clarification.

The original sentence read: "You ought to be 'willing' to listen to everybody because you aren't that smart and can't afford to ignore anybody, including wingnuts."

It now reads:

"You ought to be 'willing' to listen to everybody because NOBODY is so smart that they can disrespect and ignore anyone, including wingnuts."

Is that better?

I have been silent far too long.I have read the opinions of others on this blog and I must say Constructive Dingbat I mean Feedback, your views humor me and intrigue me the most. All of that rambling with no valid points. Since the wingnut teabaggers oh my mistake again, teaparty members are always fearful of their rights being infringed upon, why was someone with an Obama bumper sticker attacked? Does "freedom of speech" only apply to a select few in Amerikkka which also includes HOUSE negros like yourself?

Bad treaty.

Because even he could see it was a bad idea.

You wrote:

"And who cares about AT&T? Let them go broke. Their phones suck, anyway."

Ah. I see. Another person who thinks corporations are some abstract entity offering nothing of value to the nation.

Ignorance of economics seems to be especially widespread and profound in the black world. I know this disturbs Thomas Sowell, who is one of the profession's clear thinkers and writers.

j is totally right--it was a loophole.

and no one believes the right-offs ATT et al are making are legit. when congress comes back, then can go before waxman/stupak and try to explain those claims.

Maria, "and no one believes the right-offs ATT et al are making are legit. when congress comes back, then can go before waxman/stupak and try to explain those claims."

Btw, AT&T employes well over 400,000 people. Does that mean anything to you?

That is the problem with far left Dems like you--you just don't get it.....

no_slappz said...

maria, you wrote:

"and no one believes the right-offs ATT et al are making are legit."

The expression you want is "write-offs". Nevertheless, that is the wrong term.

AT&T is taking a $1 billion charge against its earnings. Not a write-off, which is a different accounting issue.

In simple terms, as a result of ObamaCare, AT&T will, in the future, have to pay for something that had been covered by the government.

In itself, that is not a problem. The company is able to bear the cost. Or, more accurately, the retirees are able to bear the cost. But, the AT&T charge is one the first to hit people, showing that the new legislation is going to take benefits from people who earned them and give them to millions of others who did not.

YOu wrote:

"when congress comes back, then can go before waxman/stupak and try to explain those claims."

No problem. It's all there in the laws governing Accounting for Retirement Plans.

""Today AT&T was the first corporation to take $1billion non-cash charge due to the healthcare bill. There will be many other corporations taking such charges too. So, keep your fingers crossed that this health bill doesn't cause the American system to destruct."

Doubt it.

Any charges taken among corporations will be passed down to consumers. Once again, WE will be the ones footing the bill, not they.

I live in Harford County, MD (Just north of Baltimore) Wingnuts abound here! Two years ago, some local morons shot out the driver's side window with beebee guns. We called the police. One of them said that maybe it was because of our O'Malley for governor bumper sticker! "Just sayin, ya' know, ma'am!"
