I am blogging all over the place tonight. I have to get as much as possible off my chest, because, let's face it, we all might not be here tomorrow.
Anyway, I will start with Lance Armstrong. Is there any doubt now that he is a cheater? I know that it's blasphemous to utter those words about one of A-merry-ca's darlings, but it's time we acknowledge the juiced up elephant in the room. One former teammate might have been lying, but two? Come on now.
Sometimes it's hard to admit to ourselves that our heroes aren't as pure as we would like them to be, but at some point we have to let the chips fall where they may. Armstrong's manager has declared that his latest accuser and former wing man and teammate is a liar. But here is the thing; if all these people are lying why doesn't Lance sue them? I will tell you why, because the truth is always a defense in defamation claims.
Speaking of lies, let me move on to FOX NEWS. I see that Rupert and his crew are embroiled in a scandal across the pond which could have far reaching implications here in A-merry-ca. (h/t Greg Fuller) The FOX NEWS folks have been hacking phones to get news and their claims that they had no knowledge of the rogue reporter who was doing these dastardly deeds doesn't seem to be flying.

Last week's "This American Life" was called "How to Create a Job." Act 1 was, "Can the government move my cheese?" Short answer? Not in the short term. The idea of government creating jobs in the private sector is a stretch. When politicians make these promises, they're lying (I know, that's a shock).
Can the government add to the public payroll? Sure, but not with the shrink Uncle Sam (unless it's the military) crowd in charge of the House. Massive infrastructure spending in the stimulus would have gotten the ball rolling, but it's too late for that now. So what exactly do Smiley & West suggest? Oh, that's right - they have no suggestions, just complaints. Has there ever been a "black unemployment" bill?

Hey DF, I'm real sorry to hear you're living with this possibility and I meet with folks in similar situations on a pretty regular basis as a volunteer with Komen.
But can also recall many examples of people who lived very long lives before having a recurrence. My fav aunt who passed away last year from cancer, lived 40 years before having a recurrence. And I'm convinced had she continued to live a stress free and healthy lifestyle those last 5 years, she may still be alive.
All you can do is live the best life you can for today and hope that when you walk out your door tomorrow, you don't
get hit by a bus!

Besides the two team mates and the team soigneur who have said they observed Armstrong doping, he HAS had a positive dope test.
They re-tested some of his old blood samples, when new more sensitive machines became available. They tested positive for EPO. Because the samples were not current he couldn't be banned.
Those who defend the cheating bully, need to ask them selves why Armstrong paid $25000 per year to Doctor Michele Ferrari, the notorious 'doping doc' who was behind the 2006 Juventus doping scandal.
