It has been a year since O and his band of Navy Seals took down the tall Arab guy with the long beard. Of course, as is to be expected, Flipper and company do not like to be reminded about it. "Even Jimmy Carter would have given that order". Oh stop it! Flipper is so classless. Just days after the guy (Carter) gives him a compliment, he makes fun of the former President for making a courageous call (albeit a failed one) to save American citizens who were being held hostage in a foreign country.
Republicans are claiming that O is politicizing the killing of OBL and are outraged that an American president would politicize the war on terror. ---That sound you hear is me throwing up. I would like to take you back to the year 2003, and I want you to picture a certain president standing on an aircraft carrier and declaring that our mission in Iraq has been "accomplished".
How about a certain Mayor of a city that was attacked on September 11, 2001? He is a man who actually ran for president and based his entire campaign on his actions during that tragic time in the nation's history? And yet, republicans cry a river over O taking credit for killing OBL. Unbelievable!
But that's republicans for ya. I loved the oped in the Washington Post that I read about them:
"Rep. Allen West, a Florida Republican, was recently captured on video asserting that there are “78 to 81” Democrats in Congress who are members of the Communist Party. Of course, it’s not unusual for some renegade lawmaker from either side of the aisle to say something outrageous. What made West’s comment — right out of the McCarthyite playbook of the 1950s — so striking was the almost complete lack of condemnation from Republican congressional leaders or other major party figures, including the remaining presidential candidates.
It’s not that the GOP leadership agrees with West; it is that such extreme remarks and views are now taken for granted.
We have been studying Washington politics and Congress for more than 40 years, and never have we seen them this dysfunctional. In our past writings, we have criticized both parties when we believed it was warranted. Today, however, we have no choice but to acknowledge that the core of the problem lies with the Republican Party.
The GOP has become an insurgent outlier in American politics. It is ideologically extreme; scornful of compromise; unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.
When one party moves this far from the mainstream, it makes it nearly impossible for the political system to deal constructively with the country’s challenges." [More]
Yes, even something as simple as acknowledging the killing of the most wanted terrorist in the world becomes a problem.
This is not "dysfunctional", this is delusional.

The Big R goes Native.
Haven't we done enough to the Native Americans in this country?
"Vernon Traversie, a Lakota elder, suffered a heart attack last August and was taken to Rapid City Regional Hospital for emergency surgery. Upon his return home after a two-week stay, he found that three Ks had been carved or burned into his abdomen.
In a statement to Last Real Indians, Traversie said: “I was supposed to have emergency surgery on my heart, but they (the hospital) had scheduling problems. Every night they would prep me for surgery, which went on for four or five days. Every night they would shave my chest and stomach and wouldn’t feed me.”
It wasn’t until a hospital employee came to his room and told him to take pictures of his abdomen and chest immediately upon getting home that Traversie realized that something had been done to him. The woman who gave him the advice told him she couldn’t testify on his behalf but her conscience dictated that she had to let him know.
Joyce Anderson, a retired surgical nurse who worked for nine years on the heart team at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock Arkansas, viewed the photographs of Traversie’s injuries and said, “It appears the area under the incision was done with a scalpel for drainage of the incision. The other wounds seem to be necrotic, meaning the tissue is dead. This could indicate the wounds were burned into his skin.”
According to Traversie, local law enforcement has done nothing about the matter and a doctor at a nearby medical facility said she could not make any statements regarding his injuries. After seven months of non-action by his Rapid City attorney, Traversie posted this video Vern Traversie’s Video to gain attention for the crime committed against him.
This is just the latest in a long and ugly history of hate crimes against Native Americans in Rapid City. In May of 2010, 22-year-old Christopher Capps, was shot multiple times by Pennington County Sheriff’s Deputy David Olson. Capps was allegedly reaching into his pocket for his cell phone at the time. He was unarmed.
There is a huge divide between Indians and whites in Rapid City. This latest incident involving Mr. Traversie may have been the result of a backlash to the shooting of three police officers by a young Native American man, Daniel Tiger, last August 5. Tiger was stopped for a traffic violation and inexplicably opened fire on the officers, shooting them in the head. One of the officers died at the scene. Native Americans in the community all agree that there is no excuse for Tiger’s actions, which ultimately resulted in his death. But one must ask: if Mr. Traversie’s injuries were some kind of statement, then what does it say about the doctors and nurses who were charged to care for a man who had just suffered a heart attack? What does it say about a city where no one does anything about it? What does it say about a society that doesn’t bother to report it, except in the Indian press?"(h/t Nancy Lockhart for this story)

Yes, because we have come so far in this country.

Picking on the meek.
As we get closer to election general election day 2012, we are starting to get a glimpse of what A-merry-ca will look like if republicans take congress, the senate, and the White House.
Here in Pistolvania the republican controlled legislature has already put a law into effect that will make it harder for grandma and grandpa to get food stamps.
"HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Public Welfare Department will start asking food-stamp recipients next week to prove they do not have significant personal assets in order to qualify for benefits.
Advocates for the poor say the new policy will be expensive to administer and hurt families for whom the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program can be a lifeline. It goes into effect Tuesday, but it will be about six months before the department knows how many have lost benefits.
"The majority who will lose benefits - the significant majority - are seniors and people with disabilities," Julie Zaebst, policy center manager for the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger, said Friday. "In our experience, many of those folks are saving for medical expenses and funeral expenses." [Source]
If you owe creditors money when the republicans start running things again, your credit might be the least of your problems.
Just look what their friends in the health care industry are doing to people who owe them money. And this is with Obamacare.
"How did breast cancer survivor Lisa Lindsay end up behind bars? She didn't pay a medical bill -- one the Herrin, Ill., teaching assistant was told she didn't owe. "She got a $280 medical bill in error and was told she didn't have to pay it," The Associated Press reports. "But the bill was turned over to a collection agency, and eventually state troopers showed up at her home and took her to jail in handcuffs."
Although the U.S. abolished debtors' prisons in the 1830s, more than a third of U.S. states allow the police to haul people in who don't pay all manner of debts, from bills for health care services to credit card and auto loans. In parts of Illinois, debt collectors commonly use publicly funded courts, sheriff's deputies, and country jails to pressure people who owe even small amounts to pay up...
Under the law, debtors aren't arrested for nonpayment, but rather for failing to respond to court hearings, pay legal fines, or otherwise showing "contempt of court" in connection with a creditor lawsuit. That loophole has lawmakers in the Illinois House of Representatives concerned enough to pass a bill in March that would make it illegal to send residents of the state to jail if they can't pay a debt. The measure awaits action in the senate.
"Creditors have been manipulating the court system to extract money from the unemployed, veterans, even seniors who rely solely on their benefits to get by each month," Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan said last month in a statement voicing support for the legislation. "Too many people have been thrown in jail simply because they're too poor to pay their debts. We cannot allow these illegal abuses to continue." [Source]
If you think that our jails are overcrowded with you Negroes now, just wait until the republicans bring back debtors prisons. You Negroes just love to get s*** on credit and not pay for it.
But it's not only Negroes, old people, and the sick, who are going to feel the wrath of my republican friends; young folks will be sharing in the misery as well.
I say this because Flipper's boy has a plan for student loans, and it is not good.
"The Ryan Budget Would Allow The Interest Rate For Student Loans To Double. “There was wide agreement among members of Congress Wednesday that loans and grants are important, but there were questions about the $6 billion Obama proposal that would hold interest rates constant next year. Ryan’s budget would allow the rate to double as planned.” [Inside Higher Ed, 3/29/12]
2012: Cuts Proposed Under The House Republican Budget Will Likely Target Programs Like Head Start, Pell Grants For College Students And State Aid.“Under pressure from House conservatives, Mr. Ryan cut nearly $20 billion from spending levels set in the debt-ceiling pact, breaking faith with the Senate and potentially leading to a government shutdown this fall. Much of that reduction is likely to come from programs like Head Start, Pell grants for college students and state aid.” [Source]

Cool??
The latest Karl Rove Super Pac ad. (Why is this guy still around?) attacks his Oness for being too cool. In the ad. O is portrayed as an empty headed celebrity who got elected because of the cool factor. Not!
If you ask me this is just more dog whistles from the old white man crowd. (Barry White? Are you serious?)
So anyway, I was thinking about this whole cool thing. I mean it is all so subjective. Who determines what truly makes a person cool?
While contemplating that question, I made a list of some people (living and dead) who made my cool list. Hey, I am Jamaican, I know about this stuff.
They are not in any particular order, and I am not going to explain why each person qualifies. O isn't on the list, because in spite of what wingnuts would have you believe, a politician just can't be cool.
Here goes-
1. Tony Bennett
2. James Baldwin
3. Maya Angelou
4. Miles Davis
5. Willie Nelson
6. Nelson Mandela
7. Angela Davis
8. Bunny Wailer
9. Robert De Niro
10. Denzel Washington

Honorable mention:
Every single person out there working to make the world better is cool in my book.

I don't think that the folks in Georgia and Boston got the bi-racial memo.
I read somewhere that A-merry-ca is becoming more bi-racial than ever.
I suppose that this is progress. Although, unfortunately, there are still some folks in A-merry-ca (I see you Mrs. Bachmann) who are always willing to take two steps backwards.
Norman Neesmith is one of those people. I bet he doesn't believe in all this bi-racial crap.
"LYONS, Ga. — Norman Neesmith was sleeping in his home on a rural farm road here in onion country when a noise woke him up.
He grabbed the .22-caliber pistol he kept next to his bed and went to investigate. He found two young brothers who had been secretly invited to party with an 18-year-old relative he had raised like a daughter and her younger friend. The young people were paired up in separate bedrooms. There was marijuana and sex.
Over the course of the next confusing minutes on a January morning in 2011, there would be a struggle. The young men would make a terrified run for the door. Mr. Neesmith, who is 62 and white, fired four shots. One of them hit Justin Patterson, who was 22 and black.
"Joel Ward was on the plane back from Boston when his Washington Capitals teammate, Jeff Halpern, gave him a heads up — there were some crude things being said about him online.
It was only when the winger — who scored the Game 7 overtime goal for the playoff series-deciding 2-1 win over the Bruins — got home that he saw the racist Twitter attack being leveraged against him.
“I was shocked,” said Ward, when reached by phone Thursday.
“I knew there’d be some angry fans probably but it’s just sad to see.”
Ward, a Canadian whose parents emigrated from Barbados, said the racist remarks “caught me off guard.” [Source]

The bullet pierced his side, and he died in Mr. Neesmith’s yard. His younger brother, Sha’von, then 18, ran through the onion fields in the dark, frantically trying to call his mother.
On that day, Jan. 29, 2011, Mr. Neesmith was arrested. The district attorney brought seven charges against him, among them murder, false imprisonment and aggravated assault. On Thursday, Mr. Neesmith is expected to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct, which might bring a year in a special detention program that requires no time behind bars." [Source]
Hey, at least he was arrested; unlike you know who. I guess this is what passes for progress in Georgia. There was a time in our not too distant past when Mr. Neesmith would have been given a commendation for his actions.
Finally, congrats to Joel Ward and the Washington Caps for taking out the B's in seven games last night. I love the irony: Black man scores winning goal against goalie who refused to meet with the black man in the White House.
Sadly, as is often the case here in "color aroused" A-merry-ca, racism raised its ugly head. Of course it didn't help that this happened in Baaastan, and that we are talking about hockey.
It was only when the winger — who scored the Game 7 overtime goal for the playoff series-deciding 2-1 win over the Bruins — got home that he saw the racist Twitter attack being leveraged against him.

SB-1070
Arizona State Trooper: Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?
Field Negro: Yes officer, it seems that I was speeding.
AST: You have Pennsylvania license plates, what are you doing in Arizona?
FN: I was just passing through, officer. I am on my way to California to see a former child star named Lark Voorhies.
AST: Is that reggae music I hear coming from your vehicle?
FN: Yes officer, I am playing Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers.
AST: You haven't been smoking that Marley smoke have you?
FN: No officer, I never touch the stuff.
AST: Wait, do I detect a slight accent?
FN: Yes.
AST: Are you from Jamaica?
FN: Yes officer, I am.
AST: Are you lawfully present in the United States?
FN: Yes.
AST: May I see some proof of your legal status in the United States?
FN: Yes officer, I might have something right here in my wallet.....oh wait, my wallet is in my overnight bag, and the bag is in the trunk.
AST: Sir, I am going to have to detain you until we can confirm that you are in this country legally. It's the law here in our state.
FN: But officer, my wallet is in the trunk of my car, if you will....
AST: Sir,just don't make any sudden moves.
FN: But officer...
AST: Sir, slowly step out of the car and keep your hands where I can see them.
FN: Officer, this is all a big misunderstanding...
AST: Shut up and put your hands behind your back! You are under arrest.
SB1070 sounds like a bad sci- fi movie, but it's all the rage in Washington as the supremes try to decide if it's cool to profile folks under the pretext of keeping law abiding Americans safe.
I see that my girl Jan Brewer took the trip to Washington. I bet she won't be welcome on Pennsylvania Avenue. The last time she met the president she had her fingers in his grill.
Obviously she is a true believer when it comes to her state's new immigration law.
She is not alone:
"I think that 1070 pretty much takes the handcuffs off of police officers, so that they can do the job that they have already been prescribed by the federal government to do" said Montenegro.
The law passed by a comfortable margin in both houses of the Republican-controlled legislature.
"Here in Arizona we have a lot of problems when it comes to open borders, when it comes to not enforcing federal immigration laws, which causes a lot of chaos in our streets" said Montenegro.
He said people have already left the state as a result of the law and crime is down.
But by how much and why is a matter of debate. Crime in Arizona was trending to a 30-year low before the law was signed by the Governor.
Thousands of illegal immigrants have left the state, according to at least two population studies, but there's no reliable count and it's unknown whether the exit was caused by the law or a sluggish economy."[Source]
The supremes won't have a decision until June.
That gives Flipper two full months to gives us his opinion about the law. Knowing what I know about Flipper; I suspect that he will take about three or four different positions by then.

Searching for a soul.
"The more Mitt Romney has immersed himself in politics, the more vigorously he has peddled the narrative—what Newt Gingrich has termed "pious baloney"—that politics was just something that the life-long businessman stumbled into, more or less in the manner of a fellow who strolls into his local diner for a cup of coffee in the middle of a stickup and is thereupon transformed, albeit reluctantly, into a civic hero. Romney's selective elucidation of his own biography seems of a piece with his fuzzy ideology. As one of his former senior advisers admits, "Mitt's flaw is authenticity. Someone who changes his mind can be effective as a business leader or running the Olympics. But when you change your mind on such core issues as abortion, then what? Where's the authenticity?"
Romney's story line has undergone a few crucial revisions. As recently as February, he told supporters in Nevada, "I never imagined I would one day run for president of the United States," but back in December 2007 he had a different recollection when I asked him when he first thought about taking up residency in the White House. "It was probably, oh, back when I was with Senator [Bob] Bennett of Utah after the Olympics, when I was governor a couple of years, around 2004," he replied. "He just said to me, 'Y'know, you don't have to decide if you want to be president. But you do have to decide if you want the option to become president.' [In a recent interview, Bennett clarified to me that he first put this in memo form.] And it's like, 'Wow. I'm a one-term governor from Massachusetts. You think I've got that kind of opportunity?'
But of course," Romney went on, "you know, did it pop into my mind at other times in my life? Of course. But not as a 'Hey, I've really got a shot at doing this,' but more 'This is a serious course for me.' "
So why did the boy who dreamed of designing cars or practicing medicine instead become the single most driven presidential aspirant of the twenty-first century? Mitt Romney's wife, Ann, gave away the answer to a reporter in 1999, a few years before anyone fully appreciated what it meant. "Politics," she explained, "is in Mitt's blood." Or as Mitt himself would write, "I had become my father's son."
I just posted parts of an article from GQ Magazine that focused on Mr. Romney. I am trying to learn as much as I can about him because my wingnut friends have convinced me that he could be my next president. Unfortunately I don't like what I have been seeing so far.
I don't mind that fact that he has never taken a drink. I don't mind his Ward Cleaver persona, or the way he talks down to everybody like we all work for him. What I do mind is that fact that he has no core or soul. I just can't get over the fact that there is not one authentic bone in the man's body. His unctuous used- car salesman style deliveries this campaign season have been hard to watch. And yes, for the most part, we expect politicians to be inauthentic. But even though we understand that most politicians are usually insincere, there is just so much speciousness a person can take.
"Mitt reacted to his double-digit defeat with the conviction that politics wasn't for him. "Under no circumstances" would he run again, he declared. Just two weeks later, however, he told a reporter that he might challenge the other Massachusetts senator, John Kerry, in 1996. "Today I say I will leave the door open," he said."
They don't call him Flipper for nothing.

The liberal media bias myth, and Essence has a brain freeze.
I wonder what happened to that liberal media bias we are always hearing about? Apparently the folks peddling it have been slacking off since that boring white guy with a zillion dollars -that he never worked a day for- is running against his Oness.
"NEW YORK -- During the past several months of the Republican primary campaign, presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney received a mix of positive and negative coverage, while President Barack Obama got "consistently negative" coverage, according to a new study from Pew's Project for Excellence in Journalism.
The PEJ study, which examined coverage from the period between Jan 2 and April 15, found that "Obama's negative coverage exceeded positive coverage in 14 or 15 weeks studied, while positive coverage outweighed negative coverage for Romney in six of the 15 weeks and was fairly evenly divided in four more."
While former House Speaker Newt Gingrich often railed against the "elite media" and former Sen. Rick Santorum famously called out a New York Times reporter, Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, generally steered clear of media bashing. But as he pivots to the general election, Romney has begun taking jabs likely to play well with the Republican faithful.
On April 15, Romney told attendees at a closed-door fundraiser held in Palm Beach that most TV commentators "tend to be liberal." Two days later, Romney said in a Breitbart.com interview that "many in the media are inclined to do the president's bidding and I know that's an uphill battle we fight with the media generally." He also spoke of a "vast left wing conspiracy" against him." [Source]
Well someone needs to alert the "vast left wing" and fast, because it appears they haven't gotten the memo.
Of course, over at the news network for dummies, they are just flat out making up quotes to fit their narrative as they continue to cheer on their boy, Flipper.
"They say a lie can get halfway around the world before the truth gets its boots on, but having a top-rated cable news network on its side helps the lie out even more. TPM points out that Fox and Friends host Steve Doocy got creative with a President Obama quote, adding the words “unlike some people” to the President’s “I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth.”
It must be nice to be able to just "creative" a quote while you are a host on a cable N-E-W-S network. No wonder the average A-merry-can is so clueless.
Speaking of clueless, WTF was this guy, Michael Bullerdick, thinking? (Yes, that's really his name: Buller-dick) Dude gets a job with Essence Magazine and ends up clowning himself.
As is to be expected, some of you Negroes in A-merry-ca are not pleased:
"Essence Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Constance White, was forced to back pedal when one of her editors, Michael Bullerdick (pictured below), forgot that even a “private” Facebook page (pictured below) can still end up embarrassing you in public.
SEE ALSO: Two Shows Present Black Women In Positive Light
Bullerdick, the infamous White guy hired at Essence as a Managing Editor last summer, has turned out to be the kind of Right Wing, Fox News watching, Tea Party attending, first Black president hating, extremist that we hear about in scary racist bedtime stories. Bullerdick isn’t just a man with a few conservative viewpoints, he’s the kind of Republican who is so angry at Black people and civil rights, that he puts it all over his Facebook page. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bullerdick owns one of those “Don’t Re-nig” bumper stickers that are all the
rage among Right Wing nut jobs.
Bullerdick was busted after the website Journal-isms sent a screenshot of his page to the editor. On the page, Bullerdick attacked civil rights leader Al Sharpton as a “Race Pimp”; went after President Barack Obama as a radical; and touted videos by the late Andrew Breitbart, who was responsible for getting former USDA official Shirley Sherrod fired; and attacking Attorney General Eric Holder. The commentary wasn’t just a matter of simple disagreement on policy, but was the kind of racial hatred that one would expect from the kind of Right Winger that even other Republicans might find embarrassing."
Yes, but why would you discriminate against Mr. Bullerdick just because he is white? Shouldn't the best person get the job regardless of his color?
How do you answer that Mr. Watkins?
"Let’s be clear: Bullerdick being White is not the issue, although one could argue that there are thousands of talented Black female journalists locked out of White organizations who would be quite qualified to speak to the Black female experience in America. What is most problematic is the fact that Bullerdick is a guy who identifies with the values and beliefs of those who work night and day to preserve our nation’s long-held commitment to racial inequality.
The union between Bullerdick and Essence Magazine was the kind of awkward arranged marriage that leaves the bride sobbing in the dressing room when she realizes she has no choice. One can also easily argue that this man has absolutely no respect for Essence Magazine, its readers or what the magazine represents to the black community. By showering his Facebook page with borderline racist, inflammatory rhetoric, while taking a paycheck from Essence, he is effectively saying, “I don’t care what any of you people think.” [Source]
OK, I guess if you put it that way. Sorry Mr. Bullerdick, I think you might have to go.

Only some people get to stand their ground.
Lenny McAllister seems like a decent guy, which is why you have to feel for him as he tries to convince his republican friends to be consistent when it comes to their outrage over the George Zimmerman case.
A little background: There is an African American woman by the name of Marissa Alexander, who is sitting in a Florida jail and facing 20 years in prison for firing a gun in the air to scare off her -allegedly- abusive husband. Now, as is to be expected, folks are wondering why the "Stand- your- ground law" has been applied in such an inconsistent manner.
But back to Mr. McAllister. As a conservative he makes a strong argument that by supporting Ms. Alexander as openly and robustly as they did the man who killed Trayvon Martin, they would be killing two troublesome birds with one stone.
"Despite how much I know from personal experience that the vast majority of conservatives are not racist and misogynistic or despite how much I say it, sometimes actions are better than words to prove this. In the case of Marissa Alexander standing her ground against domestic abuse in Florida, conservatives have a chance to prove themselves above the recent criticism. To boot, no one died, as Marissa allegedly only fired a gun into the ceiling to scare off a documented abuser after he admitted to starting yet another incident. Therefore, no one risks dishonoring the dead in their defense of Second Amendment, self-defense rights.
Marissa Alexander is a Black woman currently in jail in Florida for invoking her “Stand Your Ground” privilege to discharge a firearm while trying to escape abuse at the hands of her current husband. This occurred during an ongoing altercation that caused her to fear for her life.
This is not a Black-White issue, as the Martin case has become. Although she is Black, domestic abuse is not, nor is it a social condition that only impacts minorities or the poor. Domestic abuse cuts across socioeconomic lines to remain the “dirty little secret” costing Americans thousands of broken lives and $700 million in lost business productivity annually.
For conservatives that regularly talk about the impact of the family on America’s future and the waste of resources as we struggle to revive our economy, the Alexander case highlights much of what we stand for. For weeks, many conservatives (and authorities in Sanford) granted Zimmerman the benefit of the doubt and the right of “innocent until proven guilty” in a manner that Alexander, a battered woman that ended up in the hospital after enduring one episode of abuse, never was. For conservatives that regularly talk about the colorless beauty of American justice, this is a case that will highlight how much we care for justice across demographics."
Mr. McAllister's call for consistency is admirable, but I am afraid that he is preaching to an empty church. This case is not about any of the things that Mr. McAllister mentioned (although it would have been nice if it was) this case is about reacting to the other side and taking an opposing position. It's about us against them, "color arousal", and all the negative impulses and sentiments that go along with it.
I believe that my conservative brethren will rise to the occasion. I challenge them to do so. As I mentioned not too long ago, all of the complaining about the erroneous actions from the “progressive left” concerning “race-baiting” in the Trayvon Martin case should be replaced with one simple, collective decision: conservatives must be involved in these types of social issues. This case is a good one to get involved with....
Anyone that claims to be a staunch conservative but misses the point of why this case holds the potential to be utterly important nationally (in contrast to the Martin-Zimmerman case) invalidates their arguments on the American family, on American justice, and on moving towards being a color-blind society. Anyone that has a true understanding of the horrors (e.g., beatings, emotional blackmail, rape, torture) that victims – especially female victims – of domestic violence endure would surely embrace the invocation of “Stand Your Ground” in the Alexander case."
Mr. McAllister, please do not hold your breath.

Guns and cookies.
I know that guns and cookies are a strange combination, but both have been on my mind given the words and actions of two of my republican friends, lately.
Let me start with the cookies, because more and more Flipper is showing the rest of us who live in the real world, why he shouldn’t be our leader.
So anyway, Flipper goes to Western Pistolvania and is offered some of the best cookies this state has to offer. What do you think he did? Yep, typical of the out of touch snob that he is, he turned his nose up at then. Then, to make matters worse, he took a shot at 7- Eleven. Now that, my friends, is flat out un- American!
Romney was not serious. But some of the folks at Bethel Bakery, which baked the cookies, didn’t find Romney’s remarks humorous.
“We wanted him to be welcomed with the best in the burg, and he had no idea, this guy has no idea how beloved this institution is that provided these cookies,” Bethel Bakery owner John Walsh said in an interview with ABC affiliate WTAE-TV out of Pittsburgh.
“It seemed like maybe he should have tasted them first before making the assumption,” Julie Lytle, who handles marketing for Bethel Bakery, said".
So Obama eats dog meat as a child. Flipper refuses to eat cookies as an adult. Which is worse? You be the judge. Does it say something about a man's character if he is prepared a meal by folks who admire him, and rather than take a bite -and at least pretend to show some appreciation for what they did- he makes jokes about the fruits of their labor? I think that it does.
Now on to the subject of guns.
Ann Coulter, as republicans love to do, is trying to rewrite history without a major chapter again.
This time she is trying to paint the democratic party of early American history as the party we know today. It is not. That party started changing in 1948. Ann, does the word Dixiecrats mean anything to you? How about the words, Southern Strategy? I hope, for your sake, that it does not. Because if you do know the history of the movement away from the democratic party to the republican party by Southern whites; you are an incredibly shameless liar.
Ms. Coulter, in a preposterous and absurd attempt to support the NRA; tries to make the argument that African Americans should support the NRA , and that they should arm themselves with more guns. She argues that it was the democratic party who tried to keep guns out of our hands so that the kkk could have their way with us after the Civil War. This is laughable. Any person reading this with anything above a fourth grade education knows that supporting African Americans is the furthest thing from the minds of people supporting the NRA, today. In fact, part of the reason they are such strong supporters of the NRA is because of their irrational fears of people of color. It is not because of their love of hunting.
Guns are destroying inner city neighborhoods because they are so easily available to the wrong people. Yet Ms. Coulter, in order to score cheap political points, says that what we need in certain neighborhoods is more guns, not less. (Besides, when it comes to guns, black folks don't get the benefit of the doubt like those other folks.)
That is a sad commentary on just how far some folks will go to support their political gang, and their perverse ideology. And it speaks volumes to where we are heading as a nation: More guns, less thinking. Shoot first, and talk later. I am not surprised that Ms. Coulter chose to go this route; she has been shooting from the hip for a very long time.
Finally, it looks like the you know who case has inspired some copy cats. I swear "color arousal" is rampant in A-merry-ca.

Another killing.
Before I start this post I want to give a big shout out to some amazing people/ bloggers who I was fortunate enough to hang out with up in New York, today. We were all there as a part of the Black Enterprise black blogger month photo shoot. (Yes Jigga, your new look 40/40 Club is all that) Slim, Anslem, Patrice, Yolis, Abiola, and Christen, you all is some good folk and I love your blogs. I hope you all can come down to Philly and hang out at BWB. (You Negroes are doing this blogging thing, big.)
Now for some more serious business: I see that you know who had his bond hearing today, but I promised myself that I would leave this case alone until after the trial, so I will bite my tongue.
But while I won't talk about you know who, I will talk about Stephon Watts. If you haven't heard of Stephon Watts, it's probably because what happened to him has become so common in A-merry-ca that sadly, it's not even news anymore.
"The mother of a 15-year-old boy with autism who was fatally shot by police in his home Wednesday is facing off with suburban Chicago police officers who say the officer acted appropriately.
Stephon Watts, 15, who was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome when he was 9, had had 10 previous interactions with Calumet City, Ill. police in the last two years, including at least one where police discharged Tasers to subdue him, the Chicago Tribune reports. Watts' father called the police Wednesday after arguing with his son, who didn't want to go to school, having been instructed by social workers that Watts should be handled by authorities when agitated.
Asperger's syndrome interferes with social skills, but sufferers often have normal to high intelligence. Police say they found Watts armed with a knife in the basement of his parents' home, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. When one officer sustained a defensive wound to his left forearm, two other officers on the scene fired their weapons. Steven Watts, Stephon's father, says his son was shot once in the leg, and then again in the head.
Stephon's mother, Danelene Powell-Watts, told Fox Chicago her son shouldn't have died that day, and said she might pursue a lawsuit against the police force. "They murdered my son...decided to kill him," Powell-Watts told Fox . "They didn't have to shoot him in the head, they could have [T]ased him. They could have hit him in his arm or his leg. They didn't have to kill a 15-year-old with autism." [Source] (h/t to sandee, my twitter fam, for turning me on to this story.)
Now now Ms. Watts, little Negro boys do not get to say that they suffer from some kind of disability. That excuse is reserved for other children. Little Negro boys are violent and should be shot in the head.

This is not how we "Restore Our Future".
What is that quote about being negative again? Oh yeah,"Being positive in a negative situation is not naive. It's called leadership".
I bet that some of Flipper's friends wish he would memorize that quote. Take, for instance, Mitch Daniels:
"Gov. Mitch Daniels of Indiana endorsed Mitt Romney for president on Wednesday — then criticized him a day later in an interview with The Indianapolis Star.
Mr. Daniels, a fiscal conservative who many Republicans had hoped would seek the presidency himself, seemed to chide Mr. Romney for not offering a more positive message to voters. (Mr. Romney has spent a lot of time on the campaign trail attacking President Obama, and his “super PAC,” Restore Our Future, has used its considerable resources to demolish primary rival after primary rival with negative ads.)
“You have to campaign to govern, not just to win,” Mr. Daniels told Matthew Tully of The Indianapolis Star. “Spend the precious time and dollars explaining what’s at stake and a constructive program to make life better. And as I say, look at everything through the lens of folks who have yet to achieve.”
According to Mr. Tully, “after a pause, Daniels added with disappointment, ‘Romney doesn’t talk that way.’ ”
Mr. Daniels also had some advice for Mr. Romney: “Go ahead and have the confidence in the voters to explain the fix we’re in and then tell them with some specificity what we can do to get out of it in a way that’s good for everybody,” he said. “Explain those things from the standpoint of the young and poor — those who haven’t achieved the dream yet.” [Source]
Sorry Mitch, he can't go positive now. Not when he is being openly supported by a high profile, child molesting, draft dodging, dead beat dad celebrity, who has called for the assassination of the president of these divided states of America. (Glad the Secret Service is investigating Uncle Teddy. But I suspect that he is more of a danger to himself than anyone else. Still, when a man threatens to chop off the president's head to a room full of NRA wingnuts, it's time to push the Colombian hookers out of bed and find Ted's trailer park. ) A man who he has yet to condemn for his dangerous and fire in a crowded theater rant against our government. I think we can all agree that Flipper missed the positive train at the last station.
Anyway, [right] wingnuts are comparing Uncle Teddy to Rev. Jeremiah. Remember? "Goddamn America"! Nice try. I don't think that sane people believe that freedom of speech to speak out against the government and its policies is the same as actually threatening a government official's life. But hey, that's just me. I don't live in the parallel wingnut universe where you only see what you want to believe.

Dog days.
Now that A-merry-can politics have officially gone to the dogs (yes, literally) I would like to weigh in on this debate.
First, for the record, I have never tasted Fido. Although I do understand that dog meat is quite popular in certain parts of the world.
Anyway, now comes word that Obama ate dog meat provided to him by a relative named Lolo. "
"With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy). Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate: One day soon, he promised, he would bring home a piece of tiger meat for us to share." [Source]
OK, so our future president ate dog meat when he was between the ages of six and ten. No harm no foul as far as I am concerned. Now if Lolo was a family pet, on the other hand...."Daddy where is Bo? Ahhhm I don't know honey, he was here just a minute ago". Let me stop.
Anyway, what Flipper did was still worse. Torturing the family dog is far worse than eating a strange one.
Hey, as someone who will eat a goat before a chicken I can relate. I just wouldn't eat a pet goat. See it's all about the relationship, not the particular type of meat.
Wingnuts are having fun with this one, and I am glad that they found something to go tit for tat within the doggie wars.
But I would like to add a little dog story of my own.
How many of you remember Fred Malek? He is the wingnut who counted Jews for Nixon. He is also the guy who hosted a birthday party for Ann Romney.
Anywhoo, it seems that Fred has an interesting dog story:
"Every year or so, poor old Fred Malek, the GOP fundraiser, has to suffer through a callback to his youthful indiscretions, like that one crazy time in his twenties that he and his friends were caught drunkenly barbecuing a dog on a spit..." [Source]
Yes, but at least he and his friends didn't eat the poor thing. Maybe they didn't have any barbecue sauce handy.
Finally, there is a story out of Georgia (surprise surprise) where a six year old was handcuffed and dragged off to jail by the po po.
Yes, the little rugrat is one of my cousins, and yes, I think that there was some racial insensitivity going down in Milledgeville, Georgia. (This is why I have a GPS in my car, so that I can avoid towns like Milledgeville. But I have to also call out mommy as well. Her response to this incident is all wrong. She shouldn't be calling for Rev. Inc. ;she should be calling for a therapist to look at what are obviously some serious issues with her child. No Ms. Ruff, your daughter was not just having a "bad day" with "mood swings"; she is having a bad life.
Sorry, I don't believe, like some folks, that the child is just a "bad ass". I think that the poor child has some issues, and I blame mommy for not addressing them.
"She has mood swings some days, which all of us had mood swings some days. I guess that was just one of her bad days that day," said Constance Ruff.
"She might have misbehaved, but I don't think she misbehaved to the point where she should have been handcuffed and taken downtown to the police department,"
I agree with you there, mommy; she should not have been taken to the police station. (And folks, if you think that this would have happened with little "Hannah" in Milledgeville, Georgia, I have a wonderful antique bell here in Philly with a slight crack on the side that I would just love to sell you.) But you should be doing more as a parent to make sure that your daughter is never put in such a situation again.

All American "grifter", and the trivialization of black suffering.
“I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche~
So I was reading this article in the Washington Post....
"Among the attributes I most envy in a public man (or woman) is the ability to lie. If that ability is coupled with no sense of humor, you have the sort of man who can be a successful football coach, a CEO or, when you come right down to it, a presidential candidate. Such a man is Mitt Romney.
Time and time again, Romney has been called a liar during this campaign. (The various fact-checking organizations have had to work overtime on him alone.) A significant moment, sure to surface in the general election campaign, came during a debate held in New Hampshire in January. David Gregory, the host of “Meet the Press,” turned to Newt Gingrich and said, “You have agreed with the characterization that Governor Romney is a liar. Look at him now. Do you stand by that claim?”
Gingrich did not flinch. “Sure, governor,” he started off, and then accused Romney of running ads that were not true and, moreover, pretending he knew nothing about them. “It is your millionaire friends giving to the PAC. And you know some of the ads aren’t true. Just say that straightforward.”
Me, I would have confessed and begged for forgiveness. Not Romney, though — and herein is the reason he will be such a formidable general-election candidate. He concedes nothing. He had seen none of the ads, he said. They were done by others, he added. Of course, they are his supporters, but he had no control over them. All this time he was saying this rubbish, he seemed calm, sincere — matter of fact.
And then he brought up an ad he said he did see. It was about Gingrich’s heretical support for a climate-change bill. He dropped the name of the extremely evil Nancy Pelosi. He accused Gingrich of criticizing Paul Ryan’s first budget plan, an Ayn Randish document whose great virtue is a terrible honesty. (We are indeed going broke.) He added that Gingrich had been in ethics trouble in the House and ended with a promise to make sure his ads were as truthful as could be. Pow! Pow! Pow! Gingrich was on the canvas.
I watched, impressed. I admire a smooth liar, and Romney is among the best. His technique is to explain — that bit about not knowing what was in the ads — and then counterattack. He maintains the bulletproof demeanor of a man who is barely suffering fools, in this case Gingrich. His message is not so much what he says, but what he is: You cannot touch me. I have the organization and the money. Especially the money. (Even the hair.) You’re a loser.
There are those who maintain that President Obama, too, is a liar.....
But where Romney is different is that he is not honest about himself. He could, as he did just recently, stand before the National Rifle Association as if he were, in spirit as well as membership, one of them. In body language, in the blinking of the eyes, in the nonexistent pounding pulse, there was not the tiniest suggestion that here was a man who just as confidently once embodied the anti-gun ethic of Massachusetts, the distant land he once governed. Instead, he tore into Obama for the (nonexistent) threat the president posed to Second Amendment rights — a false accusation from a false champion.
A marathon of debates and an eon of campaigning have toughened and honed Romney. He commands the heights of great assurance, and he knows, as some of us learn too late in life, that the truth is not always a moral obligation but sometimes merely what works. He often cites his business background as commending him for the presidency. That’s his forgivable absurdity. Instead, what his career has given him is the businessman’s concept of self — that what he does is not who he is. This is what enables the slumlord to be a charitable man. This is what enables the corporate raider to endow his university. Business is business. It’s what you do. It is not who you are. Lying isn’t a sin. It’s a business plan." [Source]
Yes, Flipper is quite the liar. But ironically the thing that bothers me most about Flipper of late, is a story that he has been telling that might actually be true. You know the one by now, (If you don't Flipper will make sure you do before the election is over) where he saved a co-worker's daughter from a lifetime of rave parties.
Now the poor man has been telling everyone that will listen that Flipper saved his daughter. That's great. And firefighters save lives every day. It doesn't make them fit to be president. Besides, I question Flipper's motives even back then. Trust me, this guy has been planning for bigger things all of his life. This, to me, was just one more calculated move to bolster his image. Sorry, I don't think Flipper cared anymore for that teenage girl than he did for Seamus.
Finally, I see that the trivialization of black suffering continues here in A-merry-ca. (h/t to Lynn for this story)
Ask yourself this question: Would SNL spoof Natalee Holloway? How about JonBenet Ramsey? Caylee Anthony? It's a rhetorical question, because we know that they would not. At least not so soon after their demise.
And yet, they choose to make fun of the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, before the flowers in the kid's grave have faded.
Hahaha!!
Lorne, I hope harm never comes to any of your three children.

New heart same dick, the coming race war, and granny get your collie weed.
It looks like the hunting partner from hell is at it again. You would think that after the guy bought himself a few more years on this earth he would go off to Wyoming somewhere and sit next to a hot stove so that he can get used to the temperature in the place where he will be spending his time after he leaves us. Instead, he is at it again. The guy is criticizing the sitting president and his administration.
"He has been an unmitigated disaster to the country," Cheney said of President Barack Obama.
"I can't think of a time when I felt it was more important for us to defeat an incumbent president today with respect to Barack Obama. I think he has been an unmitigated disaster to the country," Cheney said at the Wyoming Republican Party state convention in Cheyenne on Saturday.
"I think to be in a position where he gets four more years in the White House to continue the policies he has, both with respect to the economy, and tax policy, and defense and some other areas would be a huge, huge disappointment," the former Vice President said. " [Source]
I suppose when you have to live with needlessly sending thousands of people off to die, and destroying the economy in the process, you have to put the focus on the other guy so that we can all forget what an absolute mess you made of your eight years.
Don't worry Mr. Cheney, I suspect that you won't be around to see what a huge disappointment this president has been. Sadly, what might have been a perfectly good heart has been wasted on you.
Anyway, I wonder if when the race war that conservatives have been predicting finally comes to A-merry-ca they will use the self defense strategy to justify the killing of those brown folks?
That clown in Norway tried to use it. Unfortunately for him I don't think he will be that successful. I suspect that my right wing friends will want to make the same arguments here; that multiculturalism is such a threat to the future of the republic that drastic measures must be taken to stop it.
One thing conservatives will have to learn to do, though, is tell us Negroes apart. Mike Tyson looks nothing like Dr. Eric Dyson, (or Touré for that matter) yet my conservative friends can't seem to tell them apart. This is not good. Are you going to shoot and kill the sympathetic black spy (think Larry Elder, or Jesse Lee Peterson) because you thought he was an agitator? I am telling you that you wingnuts better get your s**t together before the war starts.
"That principle was put into practice the following morning when reporter Susan Candiotti quoted the Facebook page of a suspect in the Tulsa shooting spree, which said “Today is two years that my dad has been gone, shot by a fucking nigger.”
We also noted that CNN had relaxed language standards a few weeks ago, playing an uncensored clip of a 911 tape that contained the “f-word” repeatedly. Newsbusters‘ Noel Sheppard had no problem with the “f-word,” but had this thoughtful critique of Lemon’s premise:
With six black shooting victims at the heart of this story, a reasonable person might think that Sheppard was referring to a war on black people, but he dispelled that in his segment with Lemon last night. After repeating the claim that a race war is imminent because people are talking about racism (not because of the racism), Lemon said “I don’t think we’re on the verge of any race war here. I think we’re beyond that in the United States.”
Do you hear that Negros? "The shootings of black people aren't problem."
“I saw Michael Eric Tyson,” Sheppard began, as Lemon cut in to correct him. ”Dyson,” Lemon said, referring to Georgetown University Professor Michael Eric Dyson.
“Dyson,” Sheppard continued, “on Face The Nation today with Bob Schieffer, and he was saying that if Zimmerman is found innocent, there’s going to be a lot — a lot of problems. There’s going to be a lot of uprisings. So it’s not just me saying that this is possible, Don.”
It’s amusing that Sheppard would confuse Michael Eric Dyson with the textbook example of modern ScaryBlackMan-itude, but is it a telling Freudian slip? Maybe not, but Sheppard also seems to have a problem telling one black pundit from another. While Dyson did appear on Face The Nation, it was Touré who talked about the possible consequences of a George Zimmerman acquittal. [Source]
No Mr. Christopher, it's not "amusing" at all. It's all rather sad.
Finally, I hope Paul Ryan realizes what he is doing to senior citizens in this country. He is scaring grandma and grandpa about their future and causing them to do desperate things.
"ABC News’ Alex Perez reports:
Silver haired and sweet faced, Darlene Mayes looks like many grannies but according to police, she is one of Oklahoma’s biggest drug kingpins.
Her operation went up in smoke this week, when police entered her home and found 4 pounds of pot and $276,000 cash.
Police found $15,000 bundles of cash stashed away in the home.
Mayes initially told police the money was part of her retirement fund.
Police also say she was packing a semiautomatic pistol and a revolver.
Investigators say her alleged pot-dealing network spanned four states, from Tulsa, Okla., to Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri.
Police believe she supplied up to 40 percent of the marijuana in that area.
As the mastermind, police believe she had a network of dealers, including her son Jerry who was also arrested.
Law enforcement expert Brad Garrett says harmless looking seniors can sometimes be the most efficient drug dealers.
“It doesn’t surprise me that someone this age would be actively involved in marijuana distribution because there’s just too much money to be made. If they keep a low profile, they don’t talk to many people, and they don’t get greedy, they can go on for years.” [Source]
Mr. Ryan, you and your friends should be ashamed of yourselves.

Now, weeks after the shooting of Trayvon Martin – as the media try to fabricate a race war to assist the reelection of Barack Obama – not only are CNN employees saying n–ger on the air, a CNN host is advocating the previously offensive term be used in all reports rather than the politically correct one.Let that sink in. Two stories, six black shooting victims, but Noel Sheppard thinks that quoting the word “nigger” is the problem, and it’s somehow going to lead to a “race war.” The shootings of black people aren’t the problem, the calling black people “nigger” isn’t the problem, it’s the accurate quoting of that word that’s going to cause a deadly race war.
With six black shooting victims at the heart of this story, a reasonable person might think that Sheppard was referring to a war on black people, but he dispelled that in his segment with Lemon last night. The Mole.
I am so sorry to see that they found the mole over at the news network for dummies. (No, not the mole looking guy in the pic. That's actually their leader.) We could have learned a lot from that guy.
Now FOX is threatening legal action. God forbid someone tells us what we have known all along: that their news is manufactured by republican political operatives who feed them talking points for their on air staff.
Mr. Muto should be counting his blessings. Maybe mow he can go on to be a real journalist.
Finally, I have to have a last word about Flipper and this mommygate controversy.
“I wanted to increase the work requirement,” Romney said. “I said, for instance, that even if you have a child two years of age, you need to go to work. And people said, ‘Well that's heartless,' and I said ‘No, no, I'm willing to spend more giving daycare to allow those parents to go back to work. It'll cost the state more providing that daycare, but I want the individuals to have the dignity of work.’” [Source]
So, in essence, what he is saying is that there is no "dignity" in being a stay at home mother.
But republicans pounced on this non-issue when a democratic operative basically said that Ann Romney can't relate to working mothers out there because she had never worked a day in her life.
I know that Flipper and his wife would like to, but they just can't have it both ways.
The truth of the matter is that Ann Romney cannot relate to poor and middle class women who have to raise their children and work for a living. So she shouldn't even pretend that she knows how to do it for the sake of her husband's endless quest to occupy the White House. It's just flat out wrong.
Yes Ann, raising kids is hard work, but I am sure it helps when you have a bunch of maids around the house and a few million large ones sitting in a bank account.
That's what Hilary Rosen was trying to say, and if folks had taken the time to listen and process what she said instead of jumping into partisan mode, they would have heard her loud and clear.
As others have said, Hilary Rosen committed a "mortal sin of American politics: "She spoke the truth with a microphone on."
Now FOX is threatening legal action. God forbid someone tells us what we have known all along: that their news is manufactured by republican political operatives who feed them talking points for their on air staff.
"I think their legal accusations are completely baseless," Muto said on CNN. "They're trying to intimidate me into silence because I'm revealing unflattering information about the inner workings of the company.
He added:
I have to give Gawker credit for at least giving it the old college try. It would have been nice to know what goes on behind closed doors. The FOX crew must have been working overtime to catch this guy. And, catch him they did."I'm not a sociopath, Howard. I don't want to make it sound like I worked there for eight years with a chip on my shoulder, and I hated everyone. There's a lot of, you know, really nice, you know, people who I really like and respect. So, those people, if I hurt any of them, I apologize to them. But I felt the need to speak out because my story--my story had to be told. I couldn't--I couldn't be in that building one day longer without, you know, exploding."
Mr. Muto should be counting his blessings. Maybe mow he can go on to be a real journalist.

Race traitors and voter fraud.
I see that the former New York city police officer who pumped 50 bullets into the body of an unarmed man after his bachelor party has no regrets for his actions.
"I’m not looking back, no apologies, no regrets,” he told NBC New York in an exclusive interview. “I came to grips with what I did. I am able to sleep at night. I am here talking to you.”
Isnora and three other undercover cops fired 50 shots at Bell and his three friends who were leaving Bell’s bachelor party the night of November 16th. The groom-to-be died of his wounds. It was the night before his wedding.
Isnora maintains he heard one of Bells’s friend, Joseph Guzman, say “Go get my gun,” after the bachelor party was involved in an altercation with another man, Fabio Coicou. Isnora said he believed the men were going to their vehicle to retrieve a gun.
After the driver of the car rammed itself into a police van, Isnora thought he saw Guzman reach for a gun and began to fire.
In fact, all of the men were unarmed.
“I was fed to the wolves if, you know, you wanna use that,” Isnora told NBC of his firing. “That’s exactly what the Commissioner and the Mayor did.” [Source]
"Fed to the wolves"? N*^^%r please! I am so sick of these "Bagawire" type Negroes. Your ass should be rotting in a jail cell right now. You are lucky that you only lost your pension and not your freedom.
Staying with the slave catcher theme. (Now I know how my hommie, Marcus Garvey, must have felt back in the day) I am still waiting for one of his republican colleagues to condemn the statements made by slave catcher in chef, *Allen West , recently. Allen, calling your colleagues in the house Communists and doubling down on your statement is not how an elected member of congress should conduct himself.
But we are used to these things from Mr. West. A man who is looking more and more like a modern day minstrel every day. Dan Emmett would be proud of him; just like his republican supporters are now. My man actually raised some extra cash because of his outrageous statements. Yes folks, people actually sent their hard earned cash to support a man who made the claim that Communists are infiltrating the government.
Mr. West wants some of us to get the hell out of the USA. But why would we want to leave when we can be entertained by his constant jigging free of charge?
Finally, it seems that those "left wing crazies" and ACORN folks aren't the only ones capable of committing voter fraud:
"More than a year since a state district judge ruled 10 Montgomery County residents voted fraudulently in a Woodlands election, a grand jury last week indicted seven of those individuals for illegal voting. The indictments stem from the May 8, 2010, election of The Woodlands Road Utility District No. 1. Ten individuals listed their voter registration address as that of a hotel in order to take control of the RUD board.
Maybe it's time for a new campaign slogan: Voter fraud, it's not just for the left anymore.

Former Montgomery County Judge candidate Adrian Heath heads the list of people charged with the third-degree felony. Heath declined comment, saying he was looking into hiring an attorney. [...]Heath is also a tea party activist, and (this is perfect) judicial candidate. The group decided that they were afraid that someday the Woodlands Road Utility District would decide to start taxing residents of the area, instead of just commercial businesses, so he engineered an electoral coup, and a conspiracy to commit voter fraud." According to indictments released by the Texas Attorney General’s Office, the defendants voted in an election they knew they were not eligible to vote.
