Congrats to Jason Collins for revealing to the world that he is Gay. He is not the first man in one of the major sports to do this, and his announcement is not even the biggest personal revelation in the history of his sport. But at this particular time in our nation's history it is an important one. Of course it would be nice if we lived in a world where these types of pronouncements were no longer necessary, but sadly, we know that this will not be the case for awhile.
Mr. Collins goes to work in an environment where a lot of his co-workers and colleagues are homophobic and ignorant when it comes to such matters. Some of you reading this can relate to the locker room culture among athletes. It is a culture that encourages a certain amount of exaggerated machismo that we all must wear in order to fit in. Laddish behavior is accepted and embraced. And somehow our athletic prowess is associated with these types of particular traits.
Hopefully, the coming out of Jason Collins (and let's not forget Brittney Griner) will let kids know that it's cool to be different, no matter what profession they choose to pursue.
Finally, almost 3,000 people died on September 11, 2001, and 3 people died at the Boston Marathon bombing. And yet, winguts are falling over themselves to politicize this issue by comparing the two.
Folks, the next time you hear someone say that George Bush kept us safe; just remember to tell them that the September 11 terrorist attacks happened on HIS WATCH.

Who is really supporting the American family?
I was thinking about how republicans like to claim that progressives want to control every aspect of their lives with everything from health care reform to laws that make it harder for us to kill our children.
"Leave us alone", they scream. "This is a nanny state". "Keep your hands off of my money and my guns".
Then I read a wonderful article by a colleague of mine who happens to be a fine family lawyer who has tried cases before me in the past. She wrote it over a year ago for the Huffington Post, but I think that given the social climate in our country it is worth revisiting.
"Rick Santorum and his tea-partying cohorts have their knickers all in a knot about the government telling people what to do with their money. As in the government making them pay for health insurance. Or making them pay more income tax. Or using their tax dollars to educate other people's children.
At the same time, they're all pumped up about the sanctity of marriage and family. Marriage and family meaning mom, dad and kids, everyone neatly organized in a hierarchy, with dad at the helm, providing for the flock. And sanctity meaning no outside intrusion, no government telling them that their children have to learn about sex or birth control or gay people or evolution.
So how would Rick and the tea-partiers feel if the government told them exactly how much money they had to spend on their children every month? And wage-attached their pay checks and deposited those funds in their ex-wives' bank accounts? What if the government took a 401(k) titled in a tea-partier's name and gave part of it to his ex-wife without his consent? Or worse yet, took his real estate and made him pay his wife half the value of it? Talk about the heavy hand of the state invading the innermost sanctum of the family -- it's a tea-partier's worst nightmare.
But these are, in fact, our society's actual family values. We collectively agreed, sometime in the latter part of the twentieth century, to empower the government to re-distribute wealth within the family. We routinely force one parent to pay the other parent. It's called child support. In those fabled "one in two marriages," we frequently take property paid for by one spouse and give it to the other spouse. It's called divorce. And we're very comfortable with this re-distribution. We think it protects the young, the weak and the vulnerable. We believe it creates, to quote my state's divorce code, economic justice.
Wouldn't Newt Gingrich cry socialism? And wouldn't he be right? Let's be honest -- this is the best of Karl Marx, pure and unadulterated. "From each {parent} according to his ability, to each {child} according to his need" is a pitch-perfect summary of the policy underlying child support laws.
Just imagine if these laws came up for vote in today's legislatures. Picture the outrage, the denouncements, the fiery speeches about keeping the government out of our living rooms and our bank accounts. But if we count on parents to provide for their children, and spouses to share nicely after they split, what are we supposed to do when they don't? Doesn't it become all of our problem? And isn't that the point? Just like the homeless, the sick and the poor -- the extended family that is our community.
Let's be thankful that Rick, Newt and their brethren haven't started deconstructing family law yet, because if they do, it could be just like contraception: we could be about to witness the implosion of a social policy that we haven't given even a second thought to for decades. And we'll be caught unawares -- us women, that is -- hurtling back through time, casting off divorce laws along with birth control pills, in our race to a darker, earlier era where we will eventually land, barefoot, pregnant, and without access to the bank account." [Source]
In the world of Rick, Newt, and all of his quixotic dreamers, there will be no need for things like child support. This social contract that we have all collectively signed on to is no longer needed. Because, in their world, all marriages will be perfect. Inconveniences like divorce and single parenthood is not even considered. We have churches for that. Can we try universal and affordable health care? Nope.Who needs it? All we have to do is pray.

Sarah is not laughing, but Adam certainly is.
I saw a little of president Obama channeling his inner Richard Pryor last night. His timing was good, and his joke writers, as they do with most presidents, gave him some good material to work with. Of course some would argue that this is no time for folks in Washington to be telling jokes and having a gala. There are people suffering out here. And, as we all know, if you are not an air traveler they are not going to do anything for you.
Still, jokes aside, it was interesting to see a skirt chasing blowhard and a member of the highest court in the land treating each other as if they were going to go home together.
I know one person who is not a fan. That would be one Sarah Palin. She thinks that they are all a bunch of "ass- clowns".
"Sarah Palin, never one to shy away from the use of unconventional words, has embraced a new one — “a--clowns.”
Just hours after the yearly White House Correspondents’ Dinner ended Saturday night, the former vice presidential candidate unloaded a scathing critique of the black-tie party on Twitter in characteristically unusual language.
“That #WHCD was pathetic,” Palin tweeted. “The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns throw themselves a #nerdprom.”
Palin has never attended the famous gathering herself, but she has partaken in the related festivities in recent years." [Source]
Of course this is not news. Sarah, like most people in her party, is somewhat of a hypocrite.
"Obama peppered his speech with pop-culture references, beginning by calling attention to his new entrance music: DJ Khaled's "All I Do Is Win." "Rush Limbaugh warned you about this – second term, baby?" he said. "We're changing things around here a little bit."
Now that might have been the funniest joke of the night. Because the last time I checked things in Washington were pretty much the same.
Finally, here is something for all of you pro gunnuts folks to consider:
"Even al-Qaida gloats about what's possible under U.S. gun laws. In June 2011, a senior al-Qaida operative, Adam Gadahn, released a video message rallying people to take advantage of opportunities those laws provide.
"America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms," Gadahn says, explaining that "you can go down to a gun show at the local convention center" and buy a gun without a background check.
Then a faint smile crosses Gadahn's face. "So what are you waiting for?" he asks.
Under current laws, if a background check reveals that your name is on the national terrorism watch list, you're still free to walk out of a gun dealership with a firearm in your hands — as long as you don't have a criminal or mental health record.
Data from the Government Accountability Office show that between 2004 and 2010, people on terrorism watch lists tried to buy guns and explosives more than 1,400 times. They succeeded in more than 90 percent of those cases, or 1,321 times.
"It's absurd that we allow people to buy unlimited AK-47s, AR-15s and Uzis, even if we feel they are too dangerous to be allowed on a plane, even after they've gone through a security check," says Jon Lowy, a lawyer for the Brady Campaign, a gun control group." [Source]
Come on now Mr. Lowy! There you people go again taking us down that "slippery slope".

There are no liberals or conservatives in America. There are only people trying to get paid.
What happened to Bob Beckel? He used to be a relatively sane individual and now he is over at F... News calling for McCarthy like tactics against Muslims in America. I guess those checks from Uncle Rupert will have that kind of effect on you. First Kirsten Powers, and now this clown.
It is people like Beckel and Powers who make me hate politics in America: Every one's soul has a price. One minute you are a so called progressive liberal and the next minute you are on some dumb show on F... News yucking it up with a bunch of Neanderthals.
It was nice to hear Jon Stewart calling them out in his own satirical way. Now, of course, to improve their profile in our popular culture, they are picking a fight with the aforementioned Stewart.
"In response to Jon Stewart‘s Wednesday evening monologue that tore into a handful of Fox News commentators for disregarding multiple constitutional amendments in response to the Boston bombings, Eric Bolling fired back with a full segment response on today’s The Five.
While playing clips from Bolling, Brian Kilmeade, Ann Coulter, and other Fox commentators, Stewart made the case Wednesday evening that the
conservative commentariat seems inclined to throw out several amendments (save for the Second) in the aftermath of the April 15th bombings.
His particular shot at Bolling involved the phrase “freedom math,” referring to Bolling’s on-air calculations for a particular number of Muslims in America who want to kill their fellow citizens. Beckel was lampooned for his suggestion that it would be judicious to cut off student visas for foreign Muslims.
Kicking off the final segment of the show this afternoon, Bolling addressed Stewart directly, calling the segment a “piece of sh… satire.” The show then played the clip in which Stewart mocked Bolling’s “freedom math.”
“Freedom math, huh?” said Bolling in response. “Well here’s some New Hampshire math. What do you know? Professor Alynna Lyon comes up with the exact same number as my ‘freedom math’: 1.57 million worldwide would be radicalized to the point of wanting to kill us.”
“Or how about this one?” he continued. “Pew Research math, who say 13-percent of Muslim Americans they polled are cool with suicide bombing innocent civilians. That’s 357,000 potential Tsarnaevs walking around our schools, our parks, and our ballgames. Hey, Jonny boy, pull up a chair right here between Bob and me and let’s debate this thing. Come on, you got the cajones?”
Beckel then took over and aired his own grievances with Stewart:
Oh shut up Bob! That was many checks ago.

“I was a liberal activist and a progressive before you were out of your Pampers. And you may get on a TV show and talk liberal politics, but I’ve been on the lines registering voters, being on the union lines, and others. Maybe you want to bring your credentials up here. Do not suggest that what I was saying here was a litmus test. I was simply saying that there were people we needed to take a two-year hiatus and check out those in this country who came on a student visa and cannot be found, and the FBI is trying to find them. It seems to me it’s legitimate to try and do that before we let more people in. Now you want to call that a litmus test? My litmus test is that when you do something, when you quote somebody, you do it right. And you obviously don’t have the sense to do that.” [Source]

This guy will not be on FieldHarmony.com.
So I am reading this story about a prisoner in Baltimore who fathered five children with four prison guards, and I can't stop shaking my head in disbelief.
This dude is no doubt trifling. He is, after all, a criminal, and he is the leader of a gang called "Black Guerrilla Family." (Nuff said) But I am sorry, the women in this little All My Inmates soap opera are even more trifling. I mean come on now; is it really that hard out here for sisters to find a good man that they have to hook up with inmates who they are supposed to be guarding?
What do you tell the children who came from this wonderful union?
"Honey, your daddy was a wonderful man; I met him at work….he was a real workaholic, he stayed at the job 24/7."
Anywhoo, after reading this story and the one where the dude car jacked his date in Florida, I am now thinking of starting a dating site for my sisters out there. I think I will call it FieldHarmony.com.
How does that sound?
And, I am pleased to announce, that I will be taking applications from you ladies who are single and eager to find the man of your dreams.
But seriously, this is no laughing matter. These brothers out here having multiple children with different women- and the women who allow them to plant their seeds- are hurting our community. Those of you who know me know that I am quite familiar with this subject. One of my day jobs involves dealing with stuff like this, and let's just say that I have some stories.
Fellows, you can't build wealth and a stable family when you are out there having multiple children with different women. Spreading your paycheck to more than one family is just not going to get it.
It might be too late for the leader of the "Black Guerrilla family", but it's not too late for you.

It takes an "arrogant nigger" to marry the Speaker's daughter.
I would like to take this opportunity to inform my friends reading this post that republicans do not have a monopoly on ignorance and racism.
Field's Exhibit A is my friend Gloria Patko. Gloria didn't get the memo that she is not one of us "dark skinned" people, and therefore does not have the right to call us certain names here in America.
"Buena Vista Township Clerk Gloria Platko is resisting demands that she step down after another local official, Interim Township Manager Dexter Mitchell (a Democrat), taped a phone conversation in which Platko referred to Township Supervisor Dwayne Parker (also a Democrat) as “an arrogant nigger.”
The 63 year-old Democrat later apologized for the “slip of the tongue,” but shockingly insisted that her use of the slur doesn’t make her racist, because she has “eaten Thanksgiving dinner with black friends at their house.”
Mitchell said he recorded the call in January without Platko’s knowledge because he didn’t want her to twist his words. About six minutes into the recording, Mitchell asks, “Would you be willing to sit down with (Parker)?”
Platko told Mitchell that Parker is “just rubbing me the wrong way.
“He is just doing whatever he can. You know what I think of Mr. Parker right now, and I know you’re not even going to like this,” Platko said in the recording. “But he’s just an arrogant (N-word). And I’m sorry to say it that way, but that’s the way I feel.” [Source]
Ms. Platko, did they serve you turkey or chicken?
I bet John Boehner would never call a "dark skinned" person an "arrogant Nigger". No matter how much that Obama fellow pisses him off he would never say that. (Publicly.)
He really wouldn't say it now that he is about to get a "dark skinned" son in law.
Not only is he of the darker persuasion, but, to my pleasant surprise, he also happens to be a fellow yawdie.
Of course the press is getting on my man because he was allegedly arrested for smoking the good collie.

"They're going to the chapel and they’re ganja get married.
The fiancĂ© of House Speaker John Boehner’s daughter was once busted for pot possession, a new report said Wednesday.
Lindsay Boehner, 35, is engaged to Jamaica-born Dominic Lakhan, who was arrested in 2006 in Florida after a police officer pulled him over for a traffic violation, the National Enquirer reported.
A cop in Pembroke Pines, Fla., found 4 grams of cannabis in his ashtray.
Pot wasn’t the only illicit substance allegedly in the car. Cops also “observed in plain view a 16 oz. Natural Light beer can opened in the driver door,” the Enquirer said, citing a police report.
“Officer also detected the odor of burnt cannabis emitting from the interior of the vehicle,” according to the police report." [Source]
Save the ganja jokes. The American press is so predictable. Lindsey has found her soul-mate, leave her alone. Honestly, I can't say that I blame her; Jamaica is a small place in land size only.
I wonder if Gloria Platko has ever been to Jamaica?

Nimeha's dating adventure, and the not so funny republicans.
I am not one to give dating advice, because, quite honestly, I have been out of the game for some time now. But still, I feel compelled to share a story with my single female friends which I hope will help them the next time that they are out looking for "Mr.Right."
"A first date took a dramatic turn for the worse for a Florida women when her potential suitor ended the evening by pulling a gun on her and stealing her car.
Nimeha Milien says she had never met Donald McGee, 19, before Friday evening when he started to send her text messages about meeting for a date.
Within a few hours McGee had convinced her to drive to meet him at the intersection of Sheridan Street and 68th Avenue in Hollywood, Florida.
McGee initially told Milien that he wanted to go back to her place. She refused and instead she drove them to Palm Beach County, where they took a romantic walk on the beach at Ocean Inlet Park.
'We sat there. We spoke. Nothing wrong happened,' Milien told WPBF News. 'It was like normal, all conversation.'" [Source]
Sorry Nimeha, there is nothing normal about a car jacker.
Memo to my young sisters out there: It might be time to start looking for love in all the right places.
Finally, someone should tell republican politicians that they should leave the jokes to real comedians.
"A Tennessee state senator is refusing to apologize for what many are calling a "tasteless" joke about pressure cookers in his blog in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Republican State Sen. Stacey Campfield posted a photo of a pressure cooker with "Assault Pressure Cooker (APC)" printed below it.
The photo had labels and arrows pointing to all of the pot's "dangerous" features including a "muzzle break thingy that goes 'up'" and a "tactical pistol grip."
It's also described as "large-capacity, can cook for hours without reloading" and the color was "evil, black."
"I think it's tasteless when Obama will drag everybody he can up to Capitol Hill and try to pass gun control," Campfield told ABCNews.com today. "I think that was classless and tasteless. I don't hear them complaining about that too much."
"I was showing the hypocrisy of Diane Feinstein, the gun grabbers, of their inability to realize that it is a person that does activity, not an inanimate object, be it a gun or a pressure cooker," he said.
Campfield also posted a follow-up post on his blog titled, "Inappropriate? Me? Never!"
He wrote that he had gotten a call from the media inquiring about the blog being called "inappropriate."
"Really?" Campfield wrote. "If my post was inappropriate talking about 'crock pot control' then where is the outrage from the left when they push for gun control after the Sandy Hook shooting? Im [sic] sorry if I exposed your double standard....Well, not really."
Dozens of people commented on the pressure cooker post and its follow-up post, both condemning and supporting the senator.
"What kind of insensitive imbecile thinks it's okay to post a picture like this? Do you think it's a joke? Three people dead, one an eight year old child and you think it's something to laugh about?" one person wrote.
Another defended it by writing, "Nowhere in this post do I see anyone laughing over death. The post is about double standards."
"While obviously intended as a way to show how idiotic some Senators (mostly Democrats) are in trying to ban 'assault weapons'; this only comes across as insensitive and mean," yet another person wrote. "Perhaps a blog post talking about how idiotic it is would be in order, but this picture doesn't do it."
Campfield has not been the only lawmaker in trouble for seemingly insensitive comments.
Bell pulled the tweet and apologized after a barrage of criticism.
"I would like to apologize to the people of Boston & Massachusetts for the poor timing of my tweet earlier this morning," he posted on Facebook. "As a staunch and unwavering supporter of the individual right to self defense, I expressed my point of view without thinking of its effect on those still in time of crisis." [Source]
Gentlemen, please don't quit your day jobs.

The blog post was titled, "Here comes Feinstein again," an apparent dig at Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.), one of the leading proponents in the battle for gun control. The image implied that pressure cookers might be her next target.
Two pressure cookers were turned into bombs in the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and wounded more than 260 people.
Campfield dismisses the criticism."I think it's tasteless when Obama will drag everybody he can up to Capitol Hill and try to pass gun control," Campfield told ABCNews.com today.
During the manhunt for the bombing suspects on April 19 that put Boston on lockdown, Arkansas Republican State Rep. Nate Bell tweeted, "I wonder how many Boston liberals spent the night cowering in their homes wishing they had an AR-15 with a hi-capacity magazine? #2A."

Some rights are more important than others.
I find it interesting how right wingers in this country are concerned with the rest of us normal people sending the 2nd Amendment down a "slippery slope" but they could care less about the 5th and 14th Amendments.
"No background checks for assault weapons purchases!" they scream, because, in their minds, that slope is too slippery and too steep.
But don't you dare give that American citizen his Miranda warnings or afford him the due process that the Constitution affords him when he comes into contact with the criminal justice system. (I see you Lindsey Graham)
Unless Lindsey can show me that this Tsarnaev fellow was "palling around" with Al-Qaeda or that he supported them, the very act that Senator Graham supported prohibits us from prosecuting him militarily. I know that Lindsey is an old JAG lawyer, but he is wrong on this one. Just because young Mr. Tsarnaev shares the same ethnicity and religion with those evil Mooslims, that doesn't make him anymore of an "enemy combatant" than Dylan Klebold.
"You can't hold every person who commits a terrorist attack as an enemy combatant, I agree with that. But you have a right, with his radical Islamist ties and the fact that Chechens are all over the world fighting with Al Qaeda—I think you have a reasonable belief to go down that road, and it would be a big mistake not to go down that road. If we didn't hold him for intelligence-gathering purposes, that would be unconscionable."'
No Senator, the speed with which we are heading down the slope is what's "unconscionable."

If a bomb goes off and a Muslim didn't plant it, did it make a sound?
I am not a fan of Adam Carolla but....
"Comedian and frequent O’Reilly Factor guest Adam Carolla was one of the few media voices this week to stand up and say that the Boston Marathon bombings were getting too much attention from the press. On his popular podcast Friday, Carolla said he couldn’t believe how much more the media was covering the Boston attacks than they were the Texas fertilizer plant explosion, given that the death toll appeared to be much higher in Texas.
“Boston is three people dead, and quite a few injured,” Carolla said, “but it’s three people dead. There’s that many people during the course of this podcast, that many people times ten that die out on the highways.” Meanwhile, he pointed out, the death toll in the Texas explosion was up to 15 or higher.
“That’s the whole thing” about this country, Carolla explained. “We’re not really into math, we’re into feelings. We don’t do math when it comes to solving whatever ills our society has, and we’re not really into it when it comes to body counts.”
After a brief and confusing detour about second-hand smoke and AIDS, Carolla got it his main point: “Every time we spend 10 minutes talking about something that isn’t a real problem, we take 10 minutes away from talking about something that is a problem.” Bringing it back to “the Boston thing,” he said, “that somehow struck a nerve” whereas the believes people are chalking up the Texas explosion to “shit happens.”
“But if a terrorist touched off that plant,” he concluded, “then now we’ve got an issue.” [Source]
Welcome to my world Mr. Carolla. Why is it that hundreds of black children being murdered every year doesn't cause an eyebrow to be raised, but the murder of any white child does? Why is it that when a woman of color goes missing we never hear about it from anyone other than her own family members? "Feelings"? I think not.
Anyway, now that I know that Caucasians are being profiled and that they are worried about being judged by "the actions of a few", maybe I will suspend my racism chase for awhile. Maybe.
"Since the identification and apprehension (both dead and alive) of Boston Marathon bombing suspects Tamerlan Tsarnaev (reportedly shot and run over with explosives strapped to him, amid unconfirmed reports he was clutching an “ACME Co.” receipt) and Dzokhar Tsarnaev (apprehended as a result of history’s first heroic nicotine fit), there has been a rush to triumphantly point and laugh at liberal commentator David Sirota‘s preference that the bombers turn out to be like the cheese on his ham sandwich: white and American. As it happens, both of them turned out to be Caucasian, and one of them was American, but we can’t allow their actions to define all Caucasian-Americans
Lucky for white Americans, Sirota was at least half-right: when perpetrators of horrific acts turn out to be white, there is some phenomenon that causes their whiteness to become completely irrelevant, even if they are actually from the place where whiteness gets its name. Until Friday, I always thought “caucasian” was just a name that some fancy racist thought up to make white people sound better than “negroids” and “mongoloids,” but it turns out there’s a real place called Caucasia, and the Boston bombing suspects are from it.
Despite that fact, and despite the fact that their region of origin has been heavily reported as “the Caucasas,” you would never know that these guys were Caucasian, let alone white, from the way cable news has been reporting on them. With the exception of Sunday morning’s Melissa Harris-Perry show, the only cable news description of the suspects as “Caucasian” came from Massachusetts State Police Col. Tim Alben, during a press conference.
That’s because David Sirota didn’t count on the one possibility that could nullify a white American bomber: a white American Muslim bomber. Whatever you think of Sirota’s expression of his premise, or the timing of it, the results support it: white privilege means never having to say you’re sorry for what other white people did. Not now, not ever. The skin color that was so relevant early in the week disappeared like a white rabbit in a hat, replaced by a Muslim rabbit with no discernible coloration. Ta-daaa!
The flipside of the white privilege that Sirota described was discussed concisely and effectively by Melissa Harris-Perry‘s panel Sunday morning. Muslim-American researcher Zaheer Ali pointed out that “Many Muslims around the country, before the identities of the suspects were known, said ‘Please don’t let them be Muslim,’” and recalled, similarly, “growing up, we said please don’t be black, right?”
“You had a case that at the Boston Marathon where a young 20-year-old Saudi was running like everybody else from the bombing, and he was tackled because he was suspected as being one of the bombers,” he added, “so being Muslim in America post 9/11 is being both being a victim of terror, and also being afraid of being a suspect of terror.”
Sikh-American activist and film-maker Valarie Kaur pointed out another example of the double-standard that Sirota described. “Let’s remember that the Oak Creek mass shooting was actually the last incident of domestic terrorism in this country,” she said. “It was committed by a white supremacist who walked into a Sikh house of worship. We did not hear calls for white people to be profiled, we did not hear Christianity denigrated, or Christians living in fear. The way that our country diagnoses a problem when it’s a white perpetrator, it’s an individual problem.”
Professor Michael Eric Dyson summed it up best, saying that “This is what it means to be black in America, as well as many other religious minorities. The evil stuff, the bad stuff we do is seen as representative. The great stuff we do is seen as exceptional. The exceptional people can never be representative of the group, and the evil people are the only representatives, or the people who do bad things are the only representatives. White Americans don’t — if Tom Cruise goes down, you got Brad Pitt. If Denzel goes down, we’re done.” [Source]
Well Dr. Dyson, if you put it that way, I guess my racism chase will continue after all.

Two down and one "bad, bad, bad" Saudi to go.
I sure hope that an international crisis doesn't pop up over the next few days. Because, if it does, our president will not be able to properly engage himself with the situation. Unfortunately our president is hunkered down with top advisers and aides, trying to figure out how to deal with Glenn Beck's threat to expose his regime for the "false flag" operation that played itself out in Boston a few days ago.
"Near the end of today's radio broadcast, Glenn Beck declared that the cover-up of the Saudi link to the Boston Marathon bombing makes this the second most important thing (behind 9/11) that he has ever covered in his broadcasting career. And depending on how the media and the government responds in the coming days, it just might be the most important thing he's ever covered because the response "will either save our country or we will be done."
Beck then went on to send a semi-coded message to those in the upper level of the government warning that they had better come clean about this Saudi national because The Blaze has information that reveals that he "is a very bad, bad, bad man" which will be revealed on Monday.
"I don't bluff," Beck stated, "I make promises. The truth matters. I've had enough of what you've done to our country. I thought I had heard and seen it all. I thought I didn't trust my government. Oh no, no, no. There is no depth that these people will not stoop to. They have until Monday and then The Blaze will expose it." [Source]
Oh lawd! I bet his Oness is shaking in his boots. I am sure that the president knows how Beck had his former regulatory chief fearing for his life after he called him out to all of his right wing friends. This Beck guy is no joke.
Your administration better get their stuff together and Mr. President. It seems that Glenn Beck and Anzor Tsarnaev both have your number.
I can't wait until Monday to see what my wingnut friend, Glenn Beck, has on the government. I am sure that his bombshell will shake the very foundation of our republic and change the country forever.
Still, as my twitter fam Gary astutely noted: If Mr. Beck does know of a "bad, bad, bad"Saudi man on the loose, why is he letting him run free in our country until Monday and giving him an entire "weekend to do harm"?
Lock your doors America; the Saudi man could be anywhere.

The end is near.
"There is movement in the boat"
.
This Boston Marathon terrorist story is coming to a surreal end.
Here we have one 19 year old kid and the full force of the US government and law enforcement authorities in Massachusetts trying
to capture him.
A major American city was shut down for an entire day, and it's all coming to an end in a boat behind a Norman Rockwell looking suburban home.
This might be a good time to look up Chechnya on your map, and you might want to learn as much about that country as possible.
You will be hearing a lot about it over the next few days.
The wingnuts in this country will try to make a connection between those evil "Moooslims" and these brothers, but you have to wonder. According to their friends they were just "normal American kids" who were just pursuing happiness like the rest of us. Which is why I hope that thiskid terrorist is captured alive. We really need to know why at this point.
"Suspect's body is still throwing off heat"
I think it's finally over.
You can all return to your normal viewing now.

Scoundrels!
I know that the FBI has put out images of the two most wanted men in America, and that right now the cable news networks have the pictures of those two backpack carrying men in heavy rotation.
But right about now I would like to study and remember the faces in another picture; the one to your left.
Think of those pictures and the people in them the next time that some nut goes on a killing spree with an assault weapon here in America.
Finally, I have heard some pretty interesting and creative defenses to alleged crimes committed in my time, but the one offered up by good ole Esther Stokes of Humble,Texas might just take the cake.
"A self-confessed racist teacher has denied fondling a 6-year-old student saying she doesn't like to touch black people even if only on the hand.
Irene Esther Stokes, 61, is accused of molesting the "private parts" of the first-grade girl at Northwest Prep Academy in Humble, Texas, on March 1."
Esther, I saw your picture with this article, and let me say on behalf of all black people in America that you are doing us all a huge solid by not touching us.

"Dark skinned " suspects in Boston and 46 cowards in D.C.
If you are a "dark skinned male" in Boston, you might not want to go out for the next few days. According to John King of CNN, one of his sources told him that a "dark skinned male" has been identified as a suspect and arrested for his role in the Boston Marathon massacre. Of course we know now that Mr. King, like the clowns at FOX, were wrong.
My warning is for dark skinned males only, so you Negroes can relax. If it was one of you he would have said that a "black male" has been arrested or identified as a suspect. You white guys with a tan can chill as well, I don't think that he meant you, either.
“I was told they have a breakthrough in the identification of the suspect, and I’m told — and I want to be very careful about this because people get very sensitive when you say these things — I was told by one of these sources who’s a law enforcement official that this was a dark-skinned male,” King reported. “The official used some other words, I’m going to repeat them until we get more information because of the sensitivities. There are some people who will take offense even in saying that.”
Count me in John. I think you are a moron. You make it easier for people like this to thrive. But, sadly, you were not alone:
"CNN’s Fran Townsend — who was a former Homeland Security Advisor to President George W. Bush — backed up King’s report with her own sources.
“What was perfectly clear to me, according to this official, an arrest has been made,” Townsend said.
But within 45 minutes, Townsend was back on the air, explaining that there had been a “misunderstanding.”
“There’s not somebody in custody or arrested,” she stuttered. “The situation is very fluid… There was a misunderstanding. That was said to me, not so much that we had misunderstood, but that there has been a misunderstanding and lots of cross communication.”
So this is what we call being an irresponsible journalist these days: Having a "misunderstanding" and getting caught up in"cross communications".
Poor Richard Jewell just turned in his grave.
Finally, there are 46 senators in Washington who should not sleep well tonight. But unfortunately we all know that they will.
They are the best politricksters that NRA money can buy, and they have once again done their master's bidding by voting against extended background checks for gun shows and online purchases.
The irony is that this amendment was being sponsored by a conservative Democrat and an even more conservative republican. This did not matter to the whores who wear wingtip shoes and dark suits, their pimps told them to vote no and that's exactly what they did.

There was nothing false about what happened in Boston.
It's been a little over 24 hours since the terrorist attack in Boston, and already the inmates in America's insane asylums have found a way to communicate with the rest of us.
They have declared that this is a "false flag" event, and that it was staged by the government to take over our lives and strengthen their power.
"During the Boston Police Department's final press conference of a confounding and deadly day, someone in the audience asked if Monday's bombing was a "false flag" attack. We can both explain and answer that question.
The questioner — who appears to be Dan Bidondi, a radio host for InfoWars — asked:
"Monday night during his BlazeTV show, Glenn Beck offered his thoughts on the Boston Marathon bombings and who might have been responsible. He rejected the notion suggested by some that the attack was perpetrated by an American citizen “all hacked off at the government.” Instead, he suggested that “Middle Eastern” terrorists had to be behind the attack because “when our crazies go off, they target the government.”
“No American citizen blows up random people,” Beck asserted, “that’s a Middle Eastern scene.” He went on to express his wariness of the Obama administration in the wake of the attack, alluding to the “workplace shooting” designation that was given to the 2009 Fort Hood rampage. “Do you believe we will know the true story of what really happened today?” Beck asked.
Beck called out President Obama for saying “there’s no such thing as terrorism… there’s no such thing as Al Qaeda, all of this bull crap.” While the president did hesitate to call the Bostom bombings an “act of terror” yesterday until he knew more information, he did use those words during an address today. “How does the government that’s been in denial spin this?” Beck wondered."
Well Glenn, those children who died at Oklahoma City were not a part of the "evil government."
That "evil government" will have their hands full over the next few days. While I write this post there is breaking news that the deadly poison ricin was just found at the Capitol mail facility.
At a time when the government needs the people to persevere and make the country -and their government- stronger, there are those among us who would tear down the government and try to make it weaker.
The terrorist make bombs that kill and maim and cause destruction, but the long term impact of the actions of some of these types of people can be just as terrifying.
'Why were the loud speakers telling people in the audience to be calm moments before the bombs went off? Is this another false flag staged attack to take our civil liberties and promote homeland security while sticking their hands down our pants on the streets?'To which Governor Deval Patrick, at the mic to field questions, flatly responded:
No."Of course Alex isn't alone in the asylum.

Bombs in Boston.
My thoughts are with the folks in Boston and those who were injured and the families of those who were killed (including an eight year old)at the tail end of the Boston Marathon, today. Boston looked like a Middle Eastern City, and almost twelve years after September 11, Americans, once again, are on edge.
As the world keeps getting smaller, and the folks at home keep getting angrier, terror will continue to be a part of our lives. I am watching Chris Matthews lament the fact that someone could stage such an attack on a public street and against "average citizens". Well duh! Chris, that's what terrorists do,they terrorize people.
I will listen to the president and try not jump to conclusions. But these bombings have all the markings of those folks who were led by the tall dude with the beard who used to live in a cave.
Having said that,I definitely will not declare that we should kill all Muslims in America as FOX News contributor, Erik Rush, said that we should do.
Bad times should bring out the best in us, not the worst. Mr. Rush clearly did not get that memo.
As of me writing this post there has been no suspects identified, and no one has taken credit for the bombs.
For now, we will wait for more information, all the while looking over our shoulders while we take more cautious steps.

America's movie.
Congrats to "42" for being the number one movie at the box office this weekend, unfortunately I will not be watching it anytime soon.
Sorry, I am just tired of romanticising and reliving this particular time in our nation's history. And I am glad the Jackie Robinson experiment worked for Branch Rickey and the boys, but the very idea of having to pick the right Negro who had the temperament to take all the crap thrown his way is a bit unsettling. Sorry Branch, you are no hero, you played right along with the rest of the good ole boys to keep Negroes out of your league until your desire to win and make money got the better of your prejudices.
Wouldn't 'it have been nice if the old Negro Leagues remained segregated and major league baseball would have been forced to start integrating on their terms back then? Maybe even a merger like the AFL forced the NFL to do in football.
If no integration how about paying big dollars to Negro league teams at the time such as the Birmingham Black Barons and Philadelphia Stars to acquire their top players? (Think how soccer leagues across the world do it now.)Satchel Paige,Josh Gibson, and Buck Leonard were some of the best that ever played "America's game", but they never got their just due because it was...well "America's game".
So now we have to watch a movie about the poor "guinea pig" selected to break the color barrier and watch everyone pat themselves on the back because of how far we have come as a country when it comes to race relations. Critics will love the movie (even if it sucks) because it's the politically correct thing to do, and everyone is always on board when it comes to soothing our guilt for past wrongs.
Thank you Jackie, you were a good test subject. I just don't like the results of the experiment.

Save your ten million dollars. The best things in life are free.
I am going to give my friends in the GOP some advice, and they will not have to spend a dime of the ten million dollars that they have saved up in their kitty, or actually go into the hood (gasp) and talk to real minorities to do it.
Here it is: Whenever anyone associated with your party (even a local dog catcher) does or says something publicly that you think minorities might find offensive, immediately come out and make a statement that the views of that individual does not represent your party. This is also true of republican media personalities such as Rush and Ann Coulter. (BTW Ann,wishing death on "The Maverick's" daughter crossed the line.)
You can put my advice into practice starting now. Sadly, the governor of Georgia has given you a reason to.
"Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal (R) has refused through a spokesperson to endorse one town’s first-ever integrated high school prom, saying that he would rather not take sides on the issue. According to Atlanta’s WMAZ Channel 13, politicians from both parties have stated their support for black and white students from Wilcox, Georgia, but Deal declined to join them.
Raw Story spoke to activist Bryan Long of the progressive group Better Georgia, whose group has asked Georgia elected officials “to publicly support the students of Wilcox County who are fighting to end a ‘separate-but-equal’ high school prom.”
“We thought it would be nice if our elected officials would support these students,” said Long. “They’re taking a great stand in their community. We thought that officials all across the state should send a message to the nation that we’ve moved beyond the racial divisions of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.”
He added, “We were surprised to read that the governor’s spokesperson said that he wouldn’t be ‘taking sides’ on this issue. I didn’t know that there were sides to take.” [Source]
I know I know, it seems like you are "herding cats" at times, but you have to start somewhere.

Keep your "slimy dark arts" out of Texas, and paging Dr. Gosnell.
Republicans really do know how to work those dog whistles. I don't care how much money they spend on minority outreach, they will never get minorities to come under their tent if they keep trying to make us out to be the black bogeyman, and scaring their base with Birth Of A Nation tactics.
And now, right on cue, here comes another GOP official to let us know just how far the republican party has to go before they join the rest of us in the 21st Century.
"The Texas Republican Party has a new enemy, and its name is Battleground Texas.
In a heated fundraising letter sent this week to donors statewide, the Texas GOP calls the new Democratic voter-mobilization effort “a clear and present threat to you and your family.”
“They’re coming to take away your guns,” the letter signed by GOP state chairman Steve Munisteri says. “They’re coming to confiscate more of your paycheck. They’re coming to hijack your rights and freedoms.”
A group of former campaign operatives for President Barack Obama launched the Battleground Texas effort early this year, led by former Obama field director Jeremy Bird. The group hopes to raise tens of millions of dollars to target and mobilize Democratic voters, with the eventual aim of turning Texas into a battleground state.
No Democratic politician has won a statewide vote in Texas since 1994, the longest such streak in the country.
To fight back, the GOP letter urges Republicans to give anywhere from $15 to $5,000 so the party can “immediately undertake our own effort to identify thousands of Texas conservatives.”
The letter warns that the former Obama operatives “have become masters of the slimy ‘dark arts’ of campaigning: creating massive databases; collecting information on every voter and non-voter; and then using that information to do whatever it takes to drive these voters away from Republican candidates and principles.”
Not to be outdone, the Battleground Texas folks are now using the Munisteri letter as their own fundraising tool. “I’ve been around Texas politics for a long time, but I have never seen desperation like this,” said Christina Gomez, digital director for Battleground Texas, in a statement that features an image of the GOP letter and asks Democrats to chip in to help.
In February, the Texas GOP welcomed Battleground Texas to the state with a letter that was light on alarm and heavy on humor. “We thought we’d be hospitable to these friendly competitors by offering some tips and facts they may find useful for assimilating into what, for them, must seem like a strange and foreign land,” the letter said.
Among the tips: When offered a tamale, make sure to remove the corn husk first. And: “Don’t sit cross legged while wearing spurs.” [Source]
Maybe I am being too sensitive. "Slimy dark arts campaigning" might be something totally innocuous to some. Maybe my republican friends in Texas really did not think of the president's race or of the race of the people who give him 90% of their support when they do this type of campaigning. But that thought crosses my mind for just a minute because I know better.
I know exactly where these people are coming from, and it's not a good place.
Finally, some folks are saying that this Dr. Gosnell story here in my hometown of Philly isn't getting enough national publicity. The folks on the right say that it's because he is an abortion doctor and the left doesn't want to highlight a story about a man who was allegedly killing new born babies.
Of course I disagree. I also wish that this story would get more national attention but for a different reason: The American people would have a chance to see what this country was like before abortions became legal, and what it could look like again in the future (especially for poor women) if the right wing's war on women's reproductive rights continues down the path that we are on.
If the right has their way, there will be many more Dr. Gosnells on street corners in every poor neighborhood all over this country. Abortion clinics will become as prevalent as speakeasies.
Dr. Gosnell was able to carry on his illegal practices in his West Philly clinic because a system that was supposed to be in place failed. Can you imagine if there was no system at all?

Rand lectures the Negro, Jim has a "colored" friend, and Joe explains climate change.
Rand Paul was at Howard University lecturing Negro students about the history of the republican party the other day, and while I am sure that all the young people who were present appreciated his outreach effort, (not the fact that he lied to them) I bet they wish that he wasn't quite so condescending in his approach. Rand, here is a news flash for you: those college kids know the history of your party and black folks. You need to be explaining why it is that your party tolerates people like Jim Gile.
"Saline County, Kansas Commissioner Jim Gile (R) told the Salina Journal it was a "bad choice of words" when he used the expression "nigger-rigging it" in a heated discussion that was being recorded.
Gile insisted that he meant to say "jury-rigged," noting "I had it on my brain and this came out. It was a bad choice of words. I'm sorry."
Of course Jimmy went on to say that some of his best friends are black and that he has helped to build homes for "colored people." (Yes,he really said that)
And when they are not being racist they ignore science.
Let's take a look at another republican, Joe Barton.
"Speaking before the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power this Wednesday, Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) cited a biblical flood as an example of climate change that was not anthropogenic in nature.
During the committee’s hearing on a bill that would give Congress the authority to approve the petroleum-delivering Keystone XL Pipeline, Barton asserted his support for the project before noting that he does not deny climate change, but rather, that he disputes whether the phenomenon is man-made." [Source]
The people of Texas should be embarrassed after reading those comments.
Finally, I didn't comment on Margaret Thatcher's passing because I really don't like to speak ill of the dead, but....... I will let someone else say it for me.
"Margaret Thatcher has been accused by the Australian foreign minister of having held "unabashedly racist" views after he revealed that the late former British prime minister had warned him of the challenge posed by immigration from Asia.
Bob Carr, who served as premier of New South Wales between 1995 and 2005, said that Thatcher pleaded with him to ensure Sydney did not "end up like Fiji" where citizens of Indian heritage formed a majority until a coup in 1987.
Carr, whose wife is of Malaysian origin, spoke of his surprise at Thatcher's remarks. The senator told the Lateline programme on ABC TV: "I recall one conversation I had with her in her retirement where she said something that was unabashedly racist, where she warned Australia – talking to me with Helena [his wife] standing not far away – against Asian immigration, saying that if we allowed too much of it we'd see the natives of the land, the European settlers, overtaken by migrants."
Carr expressed astonishment when Thatcher drew an analogy with Fiji, where the Indo-Fijian community formed a majority of the population in 1970 when it achieved independence from Britain. The community, descendants of labourers who travelled to the former British colony to work on sugar plantations in the late 19th century, has fallen to just over 38% in the last two decades after a 1987 coup. In 2000 Mahendra Chaudhry, the first Indo-Fijian prime minister, was taken hostage in another coup.
Carr said: "I was astonished. Helena fortunately was out of earshot. I remember one thing she [Thatcher] said as part of that conversation. She said: 'You will end up like Fiji. I like Sydney but you can't allow the [Asian] migrants … to take over otherwise you will end up like Fiji where the Indian migrants have taken over." [Source]

A Star is not born, and IQ tests needed for gun owners.
Here is a riddle for you: How many house Negroes can you fit into a television studio? If you watched FOX News on Monday night you got your answer.
I don't have a problem with conservative Negroes wanting to express themselves, but you Negroes have got to stop whining about how bad you have it.
If you have a forum on a highly rated cable news program to express yourself and cry about how mean folks are to you, then you might need to step back and reassess things a bit.
Maybe it's your message that needs fine tuning.
"When we look at who is behind this strategy, the liberal Democrats have not changed their M.O,” Parker said amid a discussion among African American conservatives on Fox News’ Hannity.
“This is not a new strategy, they used it during slavery. Remember, every time the word ‘freedom’ was mentioned and African Americans at that time heard about freedom — if you ran away, they would bring you back to that plantation — the overseer — the overseer today is the Congressional Black Caucus, their exclusive job is to keep them on the plantation, keep them uneducated, and keep them unarmed. And this was the same job as the overseer of the slave plantation, which was liberal Democrats.”
They would take that slave, they would strip the skin off of him and make everybody watch,” she added. “And that is what they do to us.”
Star, rhetoric like that is not a good way to win friends and influence people.
"While most of the panelists agreed, Crystal Wright of ConservativeBlackChick.com said it was wrong to portray Democrats as slave-masters and black Democrats as slaves.
She said Republicans should focus on their civil rights victories, noting the party had strongly supported African Americans’ right prior to the political realignment of the Southern states in the mid-20th century..."
Crystal, that's more like it.
Finally, stop me if you have heard this story before.
"A Tennessee deputy's four-year-old nephew shot and killed his wife during a weekend cookout at their home, police said.
Josephine Fanning, 47, and the boy walked into a bedroom where her husband Daniel was showing his personal gun collection to a relative in Lebanon. Unaware that the child entered, the sheriff's deputy left a loaded pistol unattended on the bed.
"Split second, we're talking about seconds for that kid to walk in that room unbeknownst to them, grab that gun and it goes off," said Wilson County Sheriff Robert Bryan." [Source]
I think it's time we expand those background checks for firearms owners and include an intelligence test in there somewhere.

Intentionally clueless.
I got a lot of e-mails and tweets from folks wanting to know my opinion about this "accidental racist" song that Uncle L and some country singer decided to serenade us with.
While I appreciate the attempt to address the issue of race and our differences here in America (and yes, I know that the country singer has love for Obama, but that doesn't get him a pass in my book), I am sadly going to have to give thumbs down to these artists and call out this song for the bull s*** that it is.
Why would I give some dude a pass for wearing a confederate flag? You are not an "accidental racist", you are a f*****g racist! And someone besides his mama needs to knock out Uncle L for signing off on this crap. Please believe that some dude wouldn't be singing about wearing a shirt with a big fat swastika on the front and some Jewish rapper would be telling him that it's cool and he is just misunderstood. (BTW, Uncle L, I do not wear a big gold chain)
Loved this quote from someone calling themself "Censure" who posted comments under the article I linked.
"It is essentially Mr. Smith saying "You don't judge me for my innocuous chains and doo-rag and I won't judge you for sporting a symbol created to represent the battle to keep my people enslaved, which continues to be sported by card carrying racists today." It is essentially creating an offense on the part of black people in order to whitewash history, condone, permit, and assuage the guilty feelings of people that obviously don't care enough about the feelings of blacks that they continue to sport that flag. LL sounds like a battered wife excusing her husband's abuse because, "We both have our faults. I should have made sure dinner was done by the time he got home."
Where are Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder when you need them?
Maybe we should just take a break from this racism discussion thing for awhile.
Congrats to the Louisville Cardinals for winning the NCAA basketball championship last night. It will be interesting to see where Coach Pitino puts that tattoo. I have some suggestions, but I am sure that coach would like to put that episode behind him.
But all is not good in the state of Kentucky. (Thank you Mother Jones) Apparently the senior senator from that state was caught on tape with some of his "operatives" smearing a potential opponent and making fun of her mental illness.
Now, as is to be expected, the slimy senator is crying foul and playing the race card no less. When confronted about his actions he quickly said that liberals made fun of his wife's ethnicity and demanded an FBI investigation into the alleged "wire tap" of his campaign office.
Welcome to the new way of crisis management in America: attack the person responsible for allowing the rest of us to see that you are doing wrong.
Rutgers University is hoping that this tactic works for them. Eric Murdock, the whistle blower who exposed their ignorant Bobby Knight wannabe of a coach, is now being investigated for extortion.
"A person familiar with the FBI's probe told The Associated Press on Sunday that investigators are interested in Eric Murdock, who left his job as the men's basketball program's player development director last year and later provided the video to university officials and ESPN.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the inquiry has not been announced. The investigation was first reported last week by ESPN and The New York Times."
"Negro, I know you didn't just think we were going to give you close to a million dollars and allow you to just walk off into the sunset looking like a hero."
