Not their brother's keepers.

Race and ethnicity can be a tricky and nuanced subject.

I was watching a pundit (Chris Matthews I think) lament the fact that the two highest profile Hispanic republicans are against amnesty for immigrants and immigration reform. He thought it was "weird". "Why aren't these two men empathizing with other Hispanics?" One of the other pundits at the table reminded him that Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are of Cuban descent, and, as a result, they do not have any empathy or connection to Mexicans and Central and South Americans who illegally come to the United States.

That exchange brought back memories of an old high school classmate of mine. I attended a boarding school in Jamaica and one of my classmates was a kid named Franz Newman. Franz was Jamaican, but if you saw him you would think that he just got off a Lufthansa flight from Munich and was just in Jamaica for a vacation. Dude was blond-haired with blue eyes and had the whole Aryan thing down.

But Franz had never left Jamaica, and in many ways he was more Jamaican than most Jamaicans I knew. I never saw him as anything but a Jamaican.

Once Franz got in a fight with a classmate over something which I don't remember what right now. The kid was African American who was born and raised in New York and his parents (who I think were Jamaican)sent him to Jamaica to attend high school. They went at it pretty hard and I remember thinking at the time that I wanted Franz to kick his ass. (Which, if I remember correctly, he did.) Franz was my friend and the American kid was not.

I understand now that Franz (who currently lives in Canada) will benefit from privileges that the other kid will never have throughout his life. At the time, though, my friendship and the shared ethnicity I had with my fellow countryman trumped any connection I might have had with the other kid because of our shared race.

I suspect that senators Rubio and Cruz do not consider themselves Hispanics like those other Hispanics who come to America from poor Third World countries. They don't share the same reality as some poor family coming to America for a better way of life. They are already living the American dream. They consider themselves Americans first, and in their world amnesty for illegal immigrants will destroy America.

"Sen. Ted Cruz on Sunday continued to slam President Barack Obama’s move to shield nearly 5 million undocumented immigrants from deportation, saying the president was getting into the business of counterfeiting.

“For 4 to 5 million people here illegally, he’s promising to print out and give out work authorizations — essentially, he’s gotten in the job of counterfeiting immigration papers, because there’s no legal authority to do what he’s doing,” the Texas Republican charged on “Fox News Sunday.”' [Source]

I wonder how Franz feels about amnesty for undocumented immigrants.

Finally, now that the Benghazi conspiracy theories have been debunked (by republicans no less) I am guessing that the wingnuts and the folks over at FOX VIEWS will not spend a lot of time telling us how wrong they were.

Wait....just as I suspected; less than 30 seconds.

Of course this will not be enough for folks like Lindsey Graham. Poor Lindsey has spent a lot of time helping folks who play the Benghazi drinking game get drunk, so this is bad news for the senator.

"Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told CNN’s State of the Union Sunday morning that last week’s the House Intelligence Committee’s Benghazi report, which hollowed out a number of Republican arguments on the incident, was “full of crap.”

Guest host Gloria Borger asked whether Graham was accusing the House Intel Committee of lying.

“No, I’m saying the House Intelligence Committee is doing a lousy job policing their own,” he said. “I’m saying that anybody who has followed Benghazi at all knows that the CIA deputy director did not come forward to tell Congress what role he played in changing the talking points. And the only way we knew he was involved is when he told a representative at the White House, I’m going to do a hard review of this, a hard rewrite.”'

*Drink... drink.... gulps.*

Well that's your first problem-watching Chris "thrill up my leg" Matthews.

Marco Rubio CO-SPONSORED AND VOTED FOR THE AMNESTY BILL THAT WAS VOTED ON IN THE SENATE .

Least you're admitting obama's executive order is amnesty.

I feel you about the tricky race/friendship thing. I played college basketball and in a few instances when a teammate got into a fight no matter the color all of us would jump in. I've seen white teammate be the first to defend a brotha on the team and vice versa. It was weird because I was one of the most pro-blah militant brothas on campus but it didn't even occur to me that I was coming to the defense of a white dude and fighting a brotha. Off the court maybe some of the white guys didn't care for us but on the court we were thick as thieves. Weird huh?

Don't shed too many tears for old Lindsey. There's another loopy Republican conspiracy theory coming along every 5 minutes, so he can just hop on the next one.

"Why aren't these two men empathizing with other Hispanics?"

Because Marco Rubio is an unprincipled careerist who will say whatever he thinks a Republican primary electorate wants him to say (five minutes ago he was for immigration reform, but now, not so much), and Ted Cruz is a circus clown hell-bent on embarrassing his party for fun and profit.

I am glad Lindsay Graham will look into this. We need to know the truth and that sorry ass committee didn't do its job and everybody knows it.

As far as FOX is concerned turn to the FACTOR this week and you will hear 'plenty' about this conclusion by an inept investigating committee.

FYI, I AM Black...make no mistake about it....I'm Black and I'm Proud.

Regarding Rubio and Cruz, not everyone is as racist as blacks. Some people consider themselves Americans first.

I know the concept is foreign to the African mind, but some people actually believe in objective truth and equality under the law.

Cubans have NEVER thought much of PRs. Come to think of it, neither do the Mexicans. Puerto Ricans are considered to be at the lowest rung on the Hispanic ladder.

However, there are PRs who seek the approval of Cubans and Mexicans by standing up for them, no matter what.(i.e. Lilac)

Dear Brother Field, each year around Thanksgiving I notice that you take the w/o Thanksgiving off from work to 'dedicate' yourself to FN and to take advantage of the Thanksgiving discount Anon Inc offers. Will you be taking off this coming week?

Btw, the free turkeys will be a little smaller this year because of the economy down here in the hood. We will still be handing them out but the White folks shipped the plump bigger ones by Brinks, Inc to Whole Foods and other high-end grocers.

So we could only hit the low end ones shipped by Safeway, Lucky's, Wal-Mart and Jewels.

I know you are particular about your 'free' turkey but you will have to make due with a 13oz instead of your yearly 20oz turkey.

Hey, what can I tell ya? It's rough out here. Whitey is especially tight this year. The man is a cheap white SOB.

”@PC, I think Bush had something to do with the creation of ISIS. They are just former Baathists and Sunni officers and such that have been persecuted under the Shiite regime that was supposed to share power but didn't. We can than the Iraq war for ISIS. Unintended consequences.”

In the narrow sense that ISIS (or Da’ash to give them their proper name) grew out of the Islamic State of Iraq, which was a splinter group from :L Qa’eda that first appeared after the 2003 invasion, then the Bush regime should take a portion of the blame. However it would be simplistic to say that was the entire story.

The American Jihadist Adam Gadahn wrote a 21 page letter to Osama bin Laden asking him to take a much tougher line against Da’ash when they first appeared. The :L Qa’eda leadership did little more than putting out strongly worded statements criticizing the extreme nature of their ideology. Had bin Laden listened to Adam Gadahn and taken a tougher line when ;L Qa’eda were still strong and Da’ash still relatively weak they could have been stopped there and then. So :l Qa’eda also need to take a share of the blame, as indeed does Bashar al-Assad – quite obviously.

There are some disaffected Ba’athist converts in Da’ash, but not all that many. Remember that Ba’athism is anathema to the Jihadists.

Those who say the CIA funded ISIS/Da’ash in its early form are also talking nonsense. ISIS had no need of US funding, they were funded initially by wealthy individuals from the Sunni states of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar. The Obama administration attempted to lean on the government’s of these nations to get them to dry up this source of funding, but the Sunni nations’ view is that these citizens are entitled to fund rebels in Syria because the US failed to depose the Syrian regime.

ISIS/Da’ash currently earn $3 million a day from oil trading alone, let alone the money they make from extortion, racketeering, the trading of priceless Iraqi antiques, and selling women and children into sex-slavery. They are currently believed have upwards of $2 billion in cash and other saleable assets.

Dogs have more empathy than most Republicans, but what is even more important to Cruz and Rubio is pandering to their racist base. Personally, I think people can have different views about immigration and not be racist. Racists are against immigration but so are some people who aren't racist. Views on immigration aren't the best barometer of racism, but when people feel strongly enough about it to go out and block busloads of kids, those people are definitely racists.

So, according to Chris Matthews, and probably every other progressive liberal in America, if you're Hispanic, you must side with Hispanics on all things?

Makes sense.

This herd mentality, IMO, has been the biggest detriment to minority communities in the past 50 years.

If you're black, then you must agree with X and Y and not A and B, or else you're not black. You're a house negro, and people will even go to great lengths to make blogs and such to remind you of your house negro status simply for not thinking like the herd.

Race and ethnicity do not need be as tricky as what people tend to make them. It's our mainstream insistence that races are different, and all members of a race must be the same, that really keeps up back.

I remember the exact night when I lost all respect for Bill Maher. When speaking about Mitt Romney, Maher insisted that Amy Holmes should disapprove of Mitt Romney, solely because she's black. Not because of politics of policies, but because she's black and Mormonism has historically racist elements. That's it; that's the way every liberal seems to view "race," despite their personal racial makeup. If you're black, you're supposed to be this way and do these things; if you're Hispanic, you're supposed to be this way and do these things. If you're white, you're supposed to STFU about race, pretend that "white" isn't a race, and defer to minorities without sticking your nose in.

Yeah. Shit doesn't have to be tricky. Maybe identify first as something beyond a topical factor of melanin amounts in one's skin, and we can work from there.

But that's never happen in 20,000 years. There's too much to be gained from identifying and segmenting society by race.

actually, i was quite clear, or attempted to be...

i don't know this Hannibal person. considering how he came on the scene, i don't seek to change that.

what is clear to me= Hannibal appears to feel some type of way 'bout BCosby suggesting BM need to pull their pants up, act like men, and raise their plenteous offspring...

SO...

Hannibal simply aired out what was ALREADY common knowledge for some of US. BCosby as a rapist does NOT = newsflash. homie got a baby mama and the whole kit + caboodle. doesn't change his very valid, much needed message that some Black men don't wish to hear coming from ANYONE.

there are others, Black and White, that it is ALSO common knowledge, in some circles that they rape like it is their Right. a perk, if you will of their "celebrity/high profile" status.

there is a Black comedian folk been whispering 'bout snuff films even...

he plays his puppet role so his getting aired out hasn't happened.

homie is riding on the freedom train. there are many in H-llyweird and DC that do. local gov'ts as well. po po, judges, teachers, doctors, lawyers, etc.

Anon 6:52pm- you appear stuck in the Black and White of it all.

please try to shake yourself free...

that you might see.

it is imperative that folk Understand that those who serve satan come in ALL colors.

THIS is why i keep saying it is NOT about the color of folk but the Spirit of that soul.

BCosby is being tossed from the freedom train. in plain sight...i cannot even say much of this is even hidden at this point. 'cause it is not.

when one understands what they are looking at...it is in our faces...

ALL day.

what we see is a whale hunt. apparently BCosby has angered folk in high places. so what was ALREADY known about him is being aired out in public. he even joked about spiking women's drinks with spanish fly back in the day. comics get to tell much Truth that folk laugh off as a joke. kind of like the jester back in the day with kings. in fact, there was an interview once, i saw of BCosby where he was dropping mad knowledge/facts...

the racist White freemason sign throwing talking head, reminded BCosby that the jester could speak more freely. kind of like a get in your place slap to BCosby's face. BCosby got the message and promptly said he would reserve future comments because he did not want to get in trouble. something to that effect. in that moment, i knew that i seen a bit of Realness on the simulated realness box.

folk aren't allowed into some circles without being compromised so that they are easily controlled. BCosby is no different. the same is true for BO even.

BCosby seems to REALLY want to do something to help Black folk. so shutting him down= what time it is.

before i can even get too riled up 'bout what folk do to ambitious grown women...

i would start with getting hyped over what happens to the babies at the hands of the h-llyweird/law makers/global elite WORLD WIDE satan worshiping crew. folk are AFRAID to name names or talk about it, 'cause their money would get Real funny...FAST.

+ they run the risk of their whole family coming up missing.

there is more an element of corrupt control than race at play here. BCosby has been embraced by White folk moreso than most. he is being whittled down to size for reasons that the public has not been hipped to. this airing out means something and i really haven't had time to dig. going thru much, solo, but for the whole host of heaven...if you can dig?

lol.

ps. i Believe that BCosby's son, Ennis, was a sacrifice for his inclusion in the big money h-llyweird club. thought it back in the day. think it even moreso now.

IF folk pay attention, they will notice mothers, brothers, sisters, cousins, publicists, make up artists, stylists, mistresses etc that end up mysteriously dead. those that worship satan MUST make human sacrifices in order to access the wealth, success and fame.

i will backtrack and drop some info in the comment section compiled by in the know folk. this way when you look...

you can really see.

it is a snare of the enemy to focus on Black and White. does it play a factor? divide/conquer at its best. so of course. in the grand scheme of things, it is not the huge deal folk would have US Believe. 'cause actually, White folk got it REALLY comin'. this is why i can't be too mad at 'em. we ALL been fed a steady diet of lies.

which we call "tradition"...

I applaud your statement below, it particular your use of the term "race", and how in context of the statement below, it can be seen as a term based on nothing more than outward appearance, that's all you "shared" with the student from the Bronx, and, of course, the attendant racism that outward appearance engenders. It is quite an instructive statement, on how little meaning race has, and how much power racism still does.
"I understand now that Franz (who currently lives in Canada) will benefit from privileges that the other kid will never have throughout his life. At the time, though, my friendship and the shared ethnicity I had with my fellow countryman trumped any connection I might have had with the other kid because of our shared race."
