"In the days following the riots in Baltimore, presidential candidate Rand Paul decided to reveal what he thought was the reason behind the city’s looting and arson — absent fathers.
Paul made his statements during an interview on Tuesday with conservative radio host Laura Ingram. Labeling the tense moments seen throughout the nation as “thuggery and thievery,” Paul listed a few reasons for the outrage, blaming low-income woes and absent fathers.
“There are so many things we can talk about: the breakdown of the family structure, the lack of fathers, the lack of a moral code in our society,” he said. “This isn’t just a racial thing.”The riots followed the funeral of Freddie Gray on Monday. The 25-year-old died at the hands of six police officers who arrested him on April 12. A week after falling into a coma, Gray passed away from a severed spinal cord. Further autopsy results revealed his vertebrae was crushed in three places. Just last Friday, Baltimore Police admitted fault for not getting Gray medical help in a timely manner.
Critics slammed Paul for his comments and pointed out that his own son has had multiple run-ins with the law. Just last week, the 22-year-old was arrested for a DUI in Kentucky." [Source]
Now that was funny.
I think you need to stock up on some Windex® there senator. You have a lot of glass in that house of yours that might just need some cleaning.
And here is another funny guy:
"Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said on Wednesday that President Barack Obama had inflamed racial tensions" during his time in office.
"Speaking to members of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the media, Cruz pointedly attacked the president for repeated missed opportunities to lead on race issues since he came into office.
"He's made decisions that I think have inflamed racial tensions -- that have divided us rather than bring us together," the Texas senator said. "We need leadership that brings us together rather than trying to divide us."
Cruz, who became visibly emotional talking about Baltimore during the hour and a half discussion of an array of issues facing the country, called for prayers for the victims of the violence and a fair investigation to find out what happened to Freddie Gray. Gray, a 25-year-old black man, died while in police custody and thrust Baltimore into turmoil.
He cited Vice President Joe Biden's warning to an African-American audience that Republicans would "put you back in chains" during the 2012 campaign as proof of the kind of "incendiary and hateful rhetoric" that splits people apart.
Cruz could offer no specific examples on what he could do as President to address the tensions among minority communities when he was pressed." [Source]
Of course he couldn't. But at least he got a few laughs.

Field, you are wrong about Rand Paul. He is a good man and probably can beat Hillary in the Presidential elections.
FYI, the Whites and Browns will come together in 2016.
How do you like them apples FN?
The Republican clown car is in full gear. And they wonder why we don't vote for these fools. Typical of repubs, criticize and have no plan of their own.
I made a poopy in my pants :)
Rand Paul looked like Usain bolt when a couple of dreamers came up to talk to him in Iowa not too long ago.
Rafael Cruz is a fake ass gringo. I call him by his birth name, not his gringo name.
The Black officers in Baltimore need to break the code, and tell the truth.
The States Attorney was very impressive, but her press conference left me angry. Angry that other people with power aren't like her. If she can do the right thing, why can't other politicians? I expected another Robert McCulloch style coverup. It's tragic that seeing an honest politician do a good job is so startling. That should be the norm.
When she was asked how to stop Freddy Gray type incidents from happening in the future, she answered "accountability". Exactly! Yet Barack "just look forward" Obama and Eric Holder won't even hold the war criminals who lied us into war accountable. She should have one of their jobs. Instead of deterring deaths of individuals, she could be deterring the deaths of millions.
What a joke. When Hannity's Wapo story turned out to be bogus he goes and has an unidentified cop say they saw Freddie Gray dealing. That man has no shame.
Hannity's "job" is to find despicable flaws in the character of Blacks. Nothing less. He does a wonderful job and has not failed once.
In addition, Hannity and his staff are very skillful finding people who can, and will, support his claims.
BTW, PX, Hannity is one of the highest rated shows in cable. In fact, all of FOX IS. Now how do you like them apples? Obviously you are in the 'minority' when it comes to criticizing Hannity and FOX.
That makes you a "double-minority"...LOL...btw, I AM Black.
JOSH, just wanted to let you know that BB King is in hospice care. They think he had a stroke.
You should be ashamed of yourself for not acknowledging him as a great Blues man. I see no other reason you dissed him was because you are a racist.
Anon@11:51, since u seem to be a friend of Mr. Paul. I have a question about him that has been bothering me for some time:
What is that on his head? Is it his hair?
These riots are 100% on Obama and his media enablers, who have purposefully created this false racial crisis to further their agenda.
If the dumbocrat agenda works, why is Baltimore such a hell hole?
All those years of complete dumbocrat agenda.
Why are both my parents such racist idiots?
Gotta love how Obama makes stuff up to control the narrative.
"And one burning building will be looped on television over and over and over again

From the same link...
Federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms arson investigators are aiding local authorities in investigating 60 fires — 10 structure fires like a CVS and a nursing home construction site, the others vehicles — in Baltimore on Monday night.
There must be a good reason Obama had to lie about something everyone clearly could see on teev.
Why do left-wing protests always turn into riots?
"This is no longer demonstration management, this has turned into a riot," Seattle Police Captain Chris Fowler tweeted.

Why don't wingnuts on the right ever riot and destroy property?
"Why don't wingnuts on the right ever riot and destroy property?"
I dunno. Why can't they be like that respectful Cliven Bundy fellow and just responsibly pay their taxes ... oh wait ...
And they occasionally run their pickup trucks over black people for sport. And dress up in camo and beat up illegal immigrants on the border. And gay bash. And blow up abortion clinics.
But otherwise, you know, totally non-violent.
You can tell it's getting closer to the Republican presidential primaries, now that Randy is hopping on the Bill O'Reilly "all black people's problems come from bad black values" bandwagon.
Watch out, Beyonce. It won't be long before he starts blaming you for the rioting in Baltimore.
And I guess this means he can stop hurting the feelings of his old buddy the Southern Avenger and they can hang out together once again, now that Sen. Paul is no longer pretending to not be racist. (Side note: Does the Southern Avenger wear a white hood, or is it more a superhero costume with a Confederate flag for a cape. Just curious.)
He also probably won't be giving anymore speeches at Howard University, unless he wants to be tarred and feathered.
Republican minority outreach over. That was quick!
"Why do left-wing protests always turn into riots?"
Because rioting is the voice of the unheard. It's the only time anybody listens to the dispossessed.
Rioting gets the job done, rioting works. And to answer your question, the reason your far-Right buddies don't riot is that they are too stupid to work that out.
The Purple Cow said...
Rioting gets the job done, rioting works.
It all depends on what one considers getting the job done.
Some sections of that neighborhood have not been rebuilt since riots that followed the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968.

But the Left runs society, they are neither unheard nor dispossessed. They are agents of destruction who use the desperate to achieve their own ends.
"Rioting gets the job done, rioting works. And to answer your question, the reason your far-Right buddies don't riot is that they are too stupid to work that out."
Gotta disagree with this. It really depends.
Rioting only ever gets anything positive done if it rises to a level that can threaten to topple a government.
Anything less than that, and it's a justification for the establishment to engage in further dispossession. Hey, those civil rights we let you have? Don't need those, do you? Hey, that shabby hovel you were living in? A cardboard box would do just as well.
Up go the slum barriers ...

As just a concrete example of the further dispossession of the dispossession I was talking about, here is a typical Republican response to the riots, from a lovely state legislator near Baltimore, Pat McDonough:
, “'That’s an idea and that could be legislation,' replied McDonough. 'I think that you could make the case that there is a failure to do proper parenting and allowing this stuff to happen, is there an opportunity for a month to take away your food stamps?'”
Rioters and their families don't really need to eat, do they?
Food, what a luxury!
That's right - it's bad parenting! Thank goodness we've worked that out. And here I was thinking it might have something to do with a systematically racist society. What an idiot! I must have testiculum in oculus. Better get to the doctor.
As bad as Rand Paul can be, I think he is so much better than the other Republican candidates that you'd get a lot of bang for your buck by voting for him in the primaries. He's pretty much walked back every good thing he's ever said, but his competition has never said anything good at all.
That's a pretty low bar Limpbaugh.
@anon 0736 yeah, pretty much goofballs watch Fox. Ever since the merger we get the hicks from the other side who think they're cute. In Houston Fox is pretty much glued on the tv in ops and I went in at Chicago and found the TV on Fox and someone had hidden the remote. Conservatives are soooo mature. I of course had to change the channel, that shit aint gonna fly in my base fellas. Take that shit back to Texas. They don't seem to understand the idea of neutrality, put it on a station that everyone can watch without losing braincells like ESPN or the History Channel but conservatives love to just let their ideological flag fly.
Unrelated: My Money-Manny prediction for the night.
Holy shit, I can't believe I'm paying $99 for this. But damn...
Floyd will dance around and cling to Manny for 12 rounds. He'll win a controversial split decision. And the stage will be set for a rematch that costs $150 on PPV.
What I'm hoping: Manny knocks his ass out in the 7th.
"Because rioting is the voice of the unheard."
Dammit, TPC. You just made me SO MAD at my unheard voice that I'm going to go crash my own car, kick my own dog, and bust out my own windows.
That'll show 'em!
Field, "What is that on his head? Is it his hair?"
8:13 AM
-----------
Field, that IS his hair and as far as I am concerned as well as the majority, he has a beautiful head of hair.
FYI, his hair is a wonderful part of him and will play a part in his election 2016.
Ok, I might vote for his hair.
"Dammit, TPC. You just made me SO MAD at my unheard voice that I'm going to go crash my own car, kick my own dog, and bust out my own windows."
With luck the dog will have rabies.
