It was then that the murderous pigs pepper sprayed Mr. Pretti and six or seven of them grabbed him from behind and pushed him onto the ground. To the extent that he resisted at all, he mostly just tried to keep his head off of the ground, which is something you would want to do if there were a gang of murderous pigs assaulting you. One of the murderous pigs found his gun and took it from him and left with it before the first of at least ten shots were fired into Mr. Pretti's body, so no, he was not assaulting any murderous pigs with a deadly weapon or any of the other horseshit the murderous pigs and their murderous masters are lying about him to try and cover their despicable, murderous asses.
This is an inflection point. You can't claim to be an American and support the wholesale slaughter of innocent US citizens by murderous pigs in the service of a paranoid fantasy about an invasion of brown people.
