A muzzle is needed for two.

joshua_Black_facebookI really didn't want to waste my time blogging about that slave catcher down in Florida, who called or the lynching of our president.

I mean it is one thing to disagree with the president on policy, or even to criticize him in a very open and vociferous way, but calling for his lynching is a bit over the top.

I expect this kind of behavior from the boorish Neanderthals who post on right wing websites, but not from a man of color who happens to be running for political office. Honestly, the word insane comes to mind.

Not only did the guy do this on MLK Day, but he actually doubled down on his outrageous comments the next day.

"To everyone who was offended that I said that the POTUS should be hanged for treason, this is the man who droned Al-Awaki on “suspicion of terrorism"--not proof--and later killed his 15-year-old son for nothing more than being his son.
This is also the man who sought to have Bradley Manning and Eric Snowden executed for treason when they didn't kill anyone, nor does the US government pretend to believe that they cost any spies their lives.

This would be exactly what the President has done to others, and, as Jesus said, “the measure ye mete, it shall be meted to you again." I make no apologies..."

Somebody call the "Drop Squad".

Finally, the republican "war on women" continues. This time a former presidential candidate is leading the charge.

"And if the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it,"

That "Uncle Sugar" comment won't go over so well. I know that Mr. Huckabee thought that he was defending the republican position on women in a positive  and principled way, but somehow, as is always the case with these poor guys, it didn't quite come out that way.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Republicans would do well to think about that quote the next time that they weigh into the debate about the female reproductive system.

Her blacks are better.

Most of us black folks in A-merry-ca know that we don't fit into a certain narrative that some folks have of their beloved country. We are here but we don't really belong. "If only they could have picked their own damn cotton".. that kind of thing.

To some blacks folks, on the other hand, that kind of talk is bordering on blasphemy.

"If the master’s house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the blaze out than the master would. If the master got sick, the house Negro would say, “What’s the matter, boss, we sick?” We sick! He identified himself with his master more than his master identified with himself. And if you came to the house Negro and said, “Let’s run away, let’s escape, let’s separate,” the house Negro would look at you and say, “Man, you crazy. What you mean, separate? Where is there a better house than this? Where can I wear better clothes than this? Where can I eat better food than this?” That was that house Negro. In those days he was called a “house nigger.” And that’s what we call him today, because we’ve still got some house niggers running around here."

Yes Malcolm we do. And the folks in the house just love him. In fact, the folks in the house believe that their Negro is special.

“That’s why our blacks are so much better than their blacks,” Coulter said. “To become a black Republican you don’t just roll into it. You’re not going with the flow. You have fought against probably your family members, probably your neighbors, you have thought everything out and that’s why we have very impressive blacks in our party.” [Source]

I Love the possessive tone there Ms. Coulter. "Our blacks". I am sure that Herman and his friends are proud of the fact that they are your blacks as well.
I just bet that there is no other place that they would want to be than with you.

What poor Herman and his friends will never understand is that folks like Ann Coulter and her friends on the right will never truly see him [or others who look like him] as equals. "Our blacks are so much better than their blacks"? WTF? I guess we should call it a "Freudian slip" because it is so revealing.

Still, Ann and her friends are rallying around their black guy, Herman Cain, and they see his latest troubles as just another case of those evil liberals piling on. (BTW, I agree with Roland Martin. Can we stop with the high tech lynching talk? Herman is not being lynched. His dumb ass is being exposed for the lying fraud that he is. This is a lynching.) It is not. But it's funny to see Coulter -and folks like her- playing the race card. I guess this is what happens when you mess with one of her Negroes.

Finally, I am disappointed with his O ness and his administration for saying no to the legalization of the collie weed. I certainly hope that they will reconsider their position.

Actually, after seeing that Rick Perry video from New Hampshire, I am starting to think that he might be our guy on the legalization front. From the looks of it my man lit up a big fat one right before he took the stage.

Toby, I think you have a hit on your hands.

A-merry-cans are fed up with crime folks, and pretty soon criminal defense lawyers like moi are going to go out of business. Why? Because A-merry-cans are starting to take the law into their own hands, that's why. Just like back in the day when the good old boys dispensed justice from the nearest tree (mostly on those Negroes for supposedly looking at their women), we have come full circle to a time when the sons and grand sons of those good ole boys are doing the dirty deeds, and making hit records about it.

In case you missed it, or didn't bother to check the link, that was red state heart throb, and the redneck rocker, Toby Keith, singing about lynching folks; and on "Comedy Central" no less. Seems he misses those "strange fruits" that used to hang from those Southern trees.

So when I see stories like the one about Ronnie White , who was murdered in his cell before going to trial. Or the one about Baron Pikes ,who was tasered to death while handcuffed in police custody, there is no way you can tell me that it's safe to be in the hands of the law anymore. ---And if you don't think that police shootings are up for a reason think again. I talk to some of these knuckle heads on a regular basis, and don't for a minute think that they aren't thinking the same thing.--- Yes sir, law enforcement has taken on a whole new meaning these days. And let's make no mistake folks, I am all for enforcing the law to the fullest; if the person accused of breaking it goes through the proper legal process. This is why we are a nation of laws right? We are a nation of laws aren't we?..... Oh, no, I take that back. We can't be. Not when the folks in the executive branch of our government are breaking laws left and right, and endorsing shit like torture. If the president and his staff is doing it, why shouldn't some small town cop, or a bunch of red necks, full of "Jack", and pissed off because Dale Jr. just lost the latest 500? And if they decide to take out the local uppity Negro; tough luck Negro, watch your mouth next time. Here in A-merry-ca we are fed up with crime and uppity Negroes. Ask Obama to save you.

"Grandpappy told my pappy back in my day, son A man had to answer for the wicked that he'd done Take all the rope in Texas Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys Hang them high in the street For all the people to see..."

Okay Toby, I hear ya. I bet your "Grandpappy" would be proud of A-merry-ca today.

I have your "racist prick" right here!

"Subject: Crap

Bart, you published Sam D saying
It's disgusting.
Many people (and some on Obama's staff) have tried to accuse the Clintons of being racist, but this goes beyond anything I've ever seen. Why would a black person hate the Clintons so much? Why would anybody hate the Clintons so much?
It is titled "You know I have seen this picture a few times before, but I never noticed Hillary and Bill."

http://field-negro.blogspot.com Has any Clinton-supporting site ever put up anything so hateful? Sam D
Of course this represents the Obama campaign and no supporter of Clinton, not a single one, would ever do anything so disgusting. Wanna buy a bridge?
Why do you reprint this stuff?
Because this campaign has always been about playing dirty pool. The Clintons had to be turned into racist for Obama to have a chance.
People like to pretend it was Hillary who decided to divide us, but 6 months ago but she had a united Democratic party behind her - why would she stir things up?
You really must want Obama to lose now and in the general election while you pretend you never say anything nasty about Obama. Mike in Cheney
Mike, Sam and I chose to attack that racist prick in Philly. You're saying assholes who publish shit like this are above criticism?

Besides, why not take the challenge? Are there any "hate Obama" hate sites on the web?
I can show you many "I hate Hillary" sites. "

I never like to get into pissing matches with other blogs. Frankly, if I spent all my time responding to the bullshit and scurrilous attacks from the left and the right, and from black and white folks, I wouldn't have time to write shit. But every now and then I get the occasional bullshit that I feel pressed to respond to.

The above exchange took place on a site called "Bart Cop" (They linked me but I won't link them, I don't believe in giving free hits to mofos who piss me off). Now this asshole felt a need to call me a "racist prick" on his site. No harm no foul, I have been called a lot worse. But the reason this ass hole took offense to me and felt a need to go out of his way to call me out is what set me off.

I have a picture of the Ice Queen and blow job bill on my sidebar, and I know the shit is controversial, but hey, that's why I put it there. And frankly I was going to remove it until mofos starting e-mailing me about it and threatening me and shit. So me being me, decided to keep it there a little longer to piss off some of these same folks.

They say shit to me like; "how dare you put up a parody of a lynching?" Like I need these mofos to tell me about what a painful legacy this has left on these divided states, and what it has done to my people. Funny, all the other times I have posted comments and pictures about lynchings on this site, all I heard then were crickets coming from the direction of these assholes. You see lynching and what it represents, only bothers them when you somehow disparage their heroes, the Clintons, not when you call it out for what it really was and still is.

"A racist prick'? Yeah Okay, I am trying to find a pic of Hillary at a Klan rally to post as soon as someone can send one to me. I wonder what they will say then? I can't wait.

"The last angry black man"

A friend of mine was introducing me to someone today, and for some reason he felt the need to tell her that I blog. "He has a blog called field Negro. I think he is the last angry black man left in America." Ha ha ha ha, laughs all around.

Of course dude was right. At times it seems that there are no angry black men left in A-merry-ca. I think the angry black man has been ashamed into accepting his fate, and his place in the A-merry-can scheme of things. But there is nothing to be ashamed of. Not when your anger is driven by disappointment and not resentment. You see it's like this: most people think that the angry black man, like yours truly, is angry because he is somehow feeling left out and is disappointed with his station in life. While this might be true with some angry black men, it isn't the case here. (Although to be honest, I couldn't really blame any black man for being angry and pissed off for the state of his condition. The shit that some of us -and yes I say us because whatever that black man goes through effects me as well-go through, I wouldn't wish on my worst white enemy). I am quite happy with pretty much all aspects of my life, both socially and professionally, but I am still angry.

Seeing untapped potential and squandered opportunities makes me angry. You can't live in a city like Philadelphia and see all the urban decay and hopelessness in the greatest country on earth and not be angry. You can't look into the face of some of the beautiful children here, knowing that they have no shot in life, and not be angry. You can't see all the money at our government's disposal being wasted on bullshit, while people are struggling to make ends meet and not get angry. All that shit makes me angry and will continue to until the people with real power in this country act like they give a damn.

Of course there used to be lots of angry black men in A-merry-ca. The Black Panthers were angry. Hell they had to be, their survival depended on it. Some of our politicians from back in the day (Shirley Chisholm comes to mind) who really cared about our condition as a people were angry. There are no angry labor organizers like Cesar Chavez anymore. No angry social activist even. Why? Because A-merry-ca has moved forward, we have gotten past the little problems of race, and class, and poverty(did you hear Tim Russert). And everyone has a chance of achieving the American dream now...yeah right! Jim Brown was an angry athlete, that's why he ran like that; he ran with anger. Malcolm X was angry. He was angry at A-merry-ca, his own people, and even at his mentor.
Boy it sure would be nice to have some high profile angry black men in A-merry-ca. But we know how that is, it will never happen now. Money and independent wealth does wonders for that ailment known as the angry black man's decease. Now, instead of real anger, we have been given Barack, and Tiger as our modern day black icons. And they ain't angry. In fact, Barack is trying to unify A-merry-ca, and Tiger is trying to pretend he is not black. People making lynching jokes about Tiger won't make him angry, and instead of getting angry at the political process in A-merry-ca, Barack praises the fake ass cowboy from California.

People like Mrs. Field are always getting on me about my anger. I am called an ABM (her abbreviation for Angry Black Man) damn near every day I am maneuvering through Philly traffic. She wonders where it comes from. If she only had half of the things I did growing up, most people black and white could only wish they had it so good. Well....I hate to break it to Mrs. Field, but as I said before, this anger isn't about envy or victimology, it's about disappointment. And when your anger is fueled by things other than your physical condition or your station in life, what you have or don't have as an individual is irrelevant. It's about the collective, and what is being done to the people in the world that looks like you. It's about our apathy to it while we party and play our lives away. It's about turning our backs on an entire generation of our children, and not having the discipline to raise our families in the proper way. Yep, all this shit makes me angry, and if I ever stop being angry, I won't even know myself.

"Poorly chosen words".

"On Friday during our golf broadcast, Nick Faldo and I were discussing Tiger's dominance in the golf world and I used some poorly chosen words. I have known Tiger for 12 years and I have apologized directly to him. I also apologize to our viewers who may have been offended by my comments."

"Poorly chosen words". It seems we have been having a lot of that lately.

"Lynch Tiger Woods in a back alley"?
Kelly, your little apology is nice, but you really shouldn't be apologizing to Tiger. Instead, you should be apologizing to all the relatives and ancestors to the black men who have been brutalized and lynched in this country, from Thomas Shipp to William Brown. When you trivialize something as abominable and inhumane as lynching, you set us all back 50 years, and you insult us all. Not just Tiger. Mr. Woods will be fine. Money fame and power makes it easy to forgive those who have wronged you. But I don't forgive you, because although these were just some "poorly chosen words" to you; the shit is personal to me.

So you will be back at work in two weeks and your ratings will probably go up, because more people know who you are now. You will be smarter the next time though, because you will know better than using "poorly chosen words" when speaking in public. You will remember that "poorly chosen words" should only be spoken in private.
