When "freedom fries" come back to bite.

"Republican myth-makers like Judith Miller, Newt Gingrich, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Ben Shapiro, and other ideologues, along with the GOP presidential candidates from Donald Trump to Marco Rubio, couldn't wait for all the victims in Paris to be identified before they unleashed a stream of hateful statements about the Paris attacks that serve their dual objectives of trashing President Obama and calling for their own form of jihad against their perceived enemies around the globe.

They're incapable of seeing that by politically exploiting this most recent atrocity, as they do with every other jihadist attack, to push their authoritarian and militaristic agenda they are exposing themselves as being every bit as nihilistic as the terrorists themselves.

Not long ago, in the run up to George W. Bush's invasion of Iraq, these same right-wing Republicans were screaming epithets at France because the country that today the corporate media remind us is "our oldest ally" tried to stop the war before it began.

The French case was that there was not a WMD threat, and that invading Iraq would lead to fragmentation of the country and trigger more terrorism.

Like a good friend who tried to take away the car keys from a power drunk U.S. administration before it got behind the wheel, France had the wisdom and forethought to try to stop the United States from its biggest foreign policy catastrophe since the Vietnam War.

And how did the Republican Right in the U.S. respond?

The Republican-controlled House of Representatives stopped selling French Fries in its cafeteria (which are from Belgium anyway) and changed their name to "Freedom Fries."

They vilified France because the French government had the good sense to try to block Bush and Cheney's war of aggression in Iraq through its United Nations veto power.

The United States had not seen such culinary propaganda since the World War One era, when the U.S. government's Committee on Public Information (the Creel Committee) sought to enflame anti-German sentiment by changing bratwurst to "hotdogs," hamburgers to "Salisbury steak," and sauerkraut to "victory cabbage."

The Republicans displayed the same level of hostility toward the French for opposing their war of choice in Iraq as an earlier generation of American propagandists showed toward Kaiser Wilhelm II.
Right-wing talk radio hosts organized events where their fans poured French wine down gutters as a symbolic protest against the French who dared to question the infinite wisdom of their Commander-in-Chief.

During George W. Bush's vicious 2004 re-election campaign against John Kerry Bush's Secretary of Commerce, Donald Evans, repeatedly said that Kerry "looks French."

The Republican House Majority Leader, Tom DeLay of Texas, began many of his Bush campaign speeches: "As John Kerry would say, bonjour."
  
At the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City "Democratic" Senator Zell Miller of Georgia received thunderous applause when he trashed John Kerry in his keynote address saying, "Kerry would let Paris decide when America needs defending!"

The same right-wingers that today are using the Paris attacks to further their shrill Manichean worldview denigrated "our oldest ally" for showing the good sense of not going along with Bush's war in Iraq.

This phenomenon demonstrates the fact that since the Bush years the Republicans have dropped all pretense of wanting to build a "kinder and gentler" America or promising a new version of "compassionate conservatism."

They've chosen instead to follow the ignorant and mean-spirited script of their ideological soul mates on right-wing talk radio.

In the context of Bush's ongoing "War on Terror" their situational demagoguery has drifted into the realm of heartless neo-fascism.

They demagogue the Paris attacks while dismissing the idea that the United States could learn a thing or two from France's examples of universal health care and publicly financed elections.

They denounce all who disagree with their war-mongering agenda with the kind of cocky self-assurance that Joe McCarthy showed in the early 1950s.

Last summer when I visited the French city of Strasbourg, a region where the horrifying history of war rings loudly, I stood for a long time inside Our Lady of Strasbourg Cathedral admiring the large memorial inside the cathedral to the fallen American soldiers who died there helping to liberate the city during World War Two.
 
I thought about the intertwined recent histories of our two countries and how much the French really loved the Americans, which made me all the more ashamed of the Republicans under George W. Bush who ridiculed that country and its people. Their raw partisan statements so soon after the horror in Paris renews this shame and should remind us just how extreme and heartless the party has become in recent years." [Source]

The Charlie Sheen candidate.

You have to believe me when I tell you that I am no fan of Megyn Kelly. I think she is an intellectual lightweight and a fraud, and the only reason she comes off as a half way decent journalist is because she plies her wares on FOX VIEWS. (What's that old saying? Oh yeah, "In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king.")

Still, the way Donald Trump has been treating her of late is shameful for someone seeking the highest office in the land. His obsession with her is juvenile and borderline creepy, and it speaks to some deeper issues with Trump's emotional stability.

Yet this man leads all republicans in the polls. America, what are you thinking?

I tried to view him as a serious candidate, I really did. I tried to listen to his speeches to see if there was something of substance behind all the bloviating and bluster, but alas, nothing. Just the same old Donald: talking loud and saying nothing. 

Then comes the kicker, he actually has Ann Coulter appearing at his political rallies now. Sorry Donald, but nothing says I am a joke of a candidate like having Ann Coulter appearing at your political events.

"Ann Coulter introduced Donald Trump at his rally in Iowa today, and she had a lot to say about their mutual favorite subject: immigration.

Coulter backed up Trump on the issue of deporting immigrants, even the ones with “anchor babies.” She mocked the liberal media for considering that a controversial statement and calling them “speech Nazis.”

She expressed her gratefulness to Trump that the media is actually talking about this issue and sanctuary cities and the border wall (“I love the idea of the Great Wall of Trump”), and declared, “I have not had this much hope for America since November 7th, 2012.”

Owen Wilson called Trump the Charlie Sheen of politics.   . That's not really fair. Charlie Sheen would have made a better president.

Foreign policy so easy even a "monkey" could do it, and this is no country for old [black] men.

Wow, I guess "the times they are a changing". Now the right has new found love for the Russians and Vladimir Putin is their hero. (The enemy of my enemy is my friend.) Nice. They deserve each other.

Anyway, here is hoping that O rethinks his Syria strike. Forget the poll numbers, forget the neocons and a pliant media, forget the criticism of his seemingly fractured plan when it comes to Syria. If a new compromise (A Russian proposal no less) is what it takes to say no American bombs in the Middle East, well then so be it.

The irony is, of course, that O made a big political miscalculation by asking congress to authorize the use of force in Syria. But I am glad for that mistake, because it's looking more and more like it's not going to happen.

Still, I wouldn't want to be one of O's speechwriters right about now. This was supposed to be his turn to explain to the American people why Bashar Assad was going to catch a beat down for gassing his own people. Now, given the way the world is turning, this is probably not going to happen. That, to me, is a good thing.

Sometimes the Big R wants you to chase, but it is not always wise to bite.

Take for instance Ann Coulter's latest cry for attention. Ann didn't want to be left out of the Syria debate, but rather than give us something of substance, she gives us this:

 "Ann Coulter joined Sean Hannity on Monday night to bash President Obama for a failure of leadership on Syria. Hannity called Obama “confused” and “wimpy,” while Coulter derided the White House for thinking this is a simple Aaron Sorkin monologue away from being solved, adding that she believes Vladimir Putin has made Obama into a “monkey” on Syria.

Hannity found the day’s events “embarrassing” for Obama, while Coulter acknowledged that Kerry’s off-the-cuff comment about Syria handing over their chemical weapons was ver cleverly snatched up by Putin. Hannity was astonished that Putin appears to be the “great peacemaker” in all this, with Coulter saying he’s “looking like a man” while Obama looks week.

She reminded Hannity how much the media (“Obama’s PR crew”) mocked Mitt Romney last year for saying Russia is America’s “number one geopolitical foe.” After using the Obama-as-Putin’s-”monkey” line again, Hannity asked her why she’s using that word specifically. Coulter simply insisted that “Putin is playing with him and making him look ridiculous.”

Moving right along and giving chase where the Big R needs chasing; Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

"When the time came to move 107-year-old Monroe Isadore to a new home, police say he resisted and barricaded himself inside. Authorities tried using a camera to monitor him, along with negotiating tactics, and finally gas to get him to come out.

None of it worked.

So, a SWAT team went inside and was greeted by gunfire, authorities say. The team fired back, and Isadore died.

The weekend confrontation raised a flurry of questions Monday as residents struggled to make sense of how someone known as a pleasant, churchgoing man who was hard of hearing and sometimes carried a cane had died in an explosive confrontation. Did authorities know how old he was? Did they follow proper procedure? Could they have done anything differently?

“It’s just a big puzzle,” said Ivory Perry, who has known Isadore for decades.

The standoff began Saturday, according to a police report obtained by The Associated Press. Laurie Barlow, 48, of Lonoke, told officers she had gone to the house where Isadore was living temporarily to help him move to a new home. She said Isadore had previously been excited about the move but that when she arrived Isadore barricaded himself in a room.

“Ms. Barlow stated his granddaughter finally got him to open the door and she went around to speak with Mr. Isadore, at that time she stated Mr. Isadore raised his arm and pointed a gun at her and stated `You better stop breaking in to my house,’” the report said.

After police moved Barlow and the granddaughter across the street, Isadore fired at a door moments after police tried to contact him. A SWAT team, called out when negotiations failed, maneuvered a camera into the house to see how Isadore was armed, then stormed inside after deploying gas and a distraction device, the report said. When Isadore fired, the entry team fired back.

Police Sgt. David DeFoor said Monday that Isadore had been living at the home temporarily, but did not go into more detail. The sergeant also said officers may not have been aware of the man’s age.

“The only thing they knew that I’m aware of was that he was older,” DeFoor said." [Source]

Sgt., I am quite sure that they knew something else, and it had nothing to do with his age.  

  

Save your ten million dollars.The best things in life are free.

I am going to give my friends in the GOP some advice, and they will not have to spend a dime of the ten million dollars that they have saved up in their kitty, or actually go into the hood (gasp) and talk to real minorities to do it.

Here it is: Whenever anyone associated with your party (even a local dog catcher) does or says something publicly that you think minorities might find offensive, immediately come out and make a statement that the views of that individual does not represent your party. This is also true of republican media personalities such as Rush and Ann Coulter. (BTW Ann,wishing death on "The Maverick's" daughter crossed the line.)

You can put my advice into practice starting now. Sadly, the governor of Georgia has given you a reason to.

"Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal (R) has refused through a spokesperson to endorse one town’s first-ever integrated high school prom, saying that he would rather not take sides on the issue. According to Atlanta’s WMAZ Channel 13, politicians from both parties have stated their support for black and white students from Wilcox, Georgia, but Deal declined to join them.

Raw Story spoke to activist Bryan Long of the progressive group Better Georgia, whose group has asked Georgia elected officials “to publicly support the students of Wilcox County who are fighting to end a ‘separate-but-equal’ high school prom.”

“We thought it would be nice if our elected officials would support these students,” said Long. “They’re taking a great stand in their community. We thought that officials all across the state should send a message to the nation that we’ve moved beyond the racial divisions of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.”
He added, “We were surprised to read that the governor’s spokesperson said that he wouldn’t be ‘taking sides’ on this issue. I didn’t know that there were sides to take.” [Source]

I know I know, it seems like you are "herding cats" at times, but you have to start somewhere.

The gun debate takes an ugly turn.

I love those lyrics from Common, because they adequately represent, from a rapper's perspective, how we get down here in America.

This brings me to Ann Coulter. Ms. Coulter weighed in on the current gun debate and she declared that the reason we have so much crime in America is because of minorities. Of course what people like Ann Coulter and other ignorant racist on the right don't realize is that poverty and crime pretty much go hand in hand. There are proportionately more poor people who happen to be people of color in this country than white people, so guess who is going to commit more crime?

Ms. Coulter might want to take a trip to Moldova, Albania, or anyone of those Eastern European hell holes to see how white folks get down when they don't have s^%*.

So anyway, I am still waiting for one of her black ideological soul mates to check her on her statements. Of course we all know that this will never happen. Allen West, Michelle Malkin, Mia Love and the other house dwellers who wash Ms. Ann's clothes and clean her house would never speak out against the ignorant crap that she says.

Sadly, though, this debate over guns in America is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

And speaking of the gun debate, the convicted felon, James O'Keefe, punked my man Touré, recently.

"James O’Keefe, the undercover videographer behind Project Veritas, published a new video Tuesday in which his crew visits the homes of journalists who have published or defended the publishing of the names of local gun owners in New York and New Jersey. Pretending to be an anti-gun advocacy group, O’Keefe’s crew asks those journalists if they would display a sign which declares that their home is “proudly gun-free” – the journalists all declined.
One of the people that O’Keefe’s group met up with was MSNBC host Touré . Despite his advocacy for stricter gun laws and his defense of the outing of gun owners, Touré also refused to display the sign.

“I agree with you in terms of gun control,” Touré told O’Keefe’s faux-gun control activists.

“We can assume that you’re not a gun owner yourself,” an activist asked.
“No,” Touré replied. “I’m not a gun owner.”

“What are the chances we can get something on this door,” another activist asked. “Something that just says, you know, ‘this building is proudly gun free?’”
“I’d have to talk to my neighbors,” Touré replied. “I honestly don’t know if they – what they feel on this issue.”

“Good luck, you guys,” Touré concludes after rejecting the activists’ proposal.
Touré protested the Project Veritas video on Twitter, saying that he treated the individuals who came to his home with nothing but respect.

O’Keefe responded by defending the public’s right to know whether Touré has a gun in his home or not." [Source]

Poor Touré learned the hard way; never be kind to a wingnut stranger.

Ann's R word, and Mitt gets a beatdown.

Oh my! Ann Coulter calls the president of these divided states a "retard", and the next day she is on conservative talk radio and FOX NEWS as a surrogate for "Myth" Romney praising his debate performance. (More on that later.)

Ann outraged a lot of people- including her fellow conservative motor mouth, Michelle Malkin- but apparently she didn't upset Mitt and his peeps, because we have yet to hear a renunciation of Ann's words from them.

Americans with children with special needs are upset, because they found what  Ms. Coulter said to be very offensive:

"Parents of children with special needs are demanding an apology from conservative political pundit Ann Coulter for tweeting after Tuesday's foreign policy debate that she approved of "Romney's decision to be kind and gentle to the retard."

It appeared to be a response to critiques of Mitt Romney's debate performance, but it wasn't the first time Coulter used the "the r-word" during this election season. And, it's not the first time blogger Ellen Seidman has called her out on it.

 

"At this point, I'm thinking the woman must surely be aware that the word is offensive, and she chooses not to care. That's pretty vile and heartless," said Seidman, the mother of a special needs child who shares her world on the blog "Love that Max."

 

"You want to slam the president, go ahead. But you can't think of any other word to use? Come on."

 

Ending the r-word: Ban it or understand it?

 

The word "retard" demeans Max and millions more with intellectual disabilities, Seidman tweeted at Coulter. Still, the comment was favorited 1,215 times and earned 2,993 retweets as of this writing, presumably by a number of people who didn't find it offensive. But sentiments from those who chose to respond to Coulter on Twitter ranged from disappointment to outrage. [Source] 

 

The fact that Ms. Coulter's tweet was favored over 1,200 times tells you all you need to know about the people on the right in this country who hate Barack Obama.

 

"You disgust me. That man is the president of this country. (& I'm sure all of the disabled children in America appreciate you.)," actor Sophia Bush tweeted.

"Politics aside, this tweet from @anncoulter was offensive & disgusting. ANY use of the "R" word is unacceptable," @amurphy217 said.

 

The Special Olympics also condemned her use of the word, saying that it was "sad to see @AnnCoulter continue her use of hateful language by using the #Rword in her discourse."

 

Honestly, I think that Ann, like her wingnut friends, was just frustrated with Flipper last night. I listened to the spin all day from the right about how he just wanted to seem presidential, but it didn't work. Stevie Wonder could see that he got his ass kicked. When you debate someone, you debate; you don't "stay above the snipping", you snip back.

 

Barack Obama jumped into Mitt and never let go. Now we are hearing from his friends that he had a stomach virus. And his spinners all say that not fighting back was a part of his debate strategy. (Ask O how that worked out for him in the first debate.) I actually heard one conservative pundit say that "Romney was playing chess while Obama was playing checkers". I guess that means that it only looked like he was getting his ass kicked, but in the wingnut reality he was not. Our eyes were deceiving us; it was a Mitt mind game and only the wingnuts could see it. Yeah, that's the ticket.

 

“Gov. Romney, I’m glad that you recognize that al Qaeda is a threat, because a few months ago when you were asked what’s the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, you said Russia … The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.”

The politics of hatred.

I am getting ready for this debate tonight, -twiter here I come- so I am going to get my post out of the way now.  

Anyway, my wingnut friends have been deep in into their Obama derangement syndrome of late.

First there was that "bombshell" tape that FOX News, and Matt Drudge Dud was to deliver that would change the shape of the elections and be Mitt's answer to the 47% hidden tape.

Well, we saw it, and unfortunately for FOX and their friends, we have seen it all before. Next.

One person who was quite intrigued with the tape was our friend Ann Coulter. Ann thinks that O was trying to garner black cred by going all Malcolm X. (BTW, I happen to like how Malcolm X gave his speeches.)

"Ann Coulter: Obama is such a fraud. He grew up in Beverly Hills 90210 existence but is just desperate to have this angry black person persona. It's rather like reading about, you know, Hitler's musings on his Germanic identity. You know, he graduated from this fancy, fancy school in Hawaii, voted recently the greenest school in America. And yet when he wants to, he just turns it on and suddenly we got Malcolm X speaking to us.

Mark Levin: Well, actually, he and his wife, I mean they really have had better than the quote, unquote middle class lives, haven't they? I mean they've gone to great Ivy League schools, as you point out. They live great lives, people have helped take care of them. Now they live like a king and queen.

Coulter: Yes, and still angry. It's all an act. It's like his 70% of Twitter followers being fake. The whole thing is just smoke and mirrors. And at least for people of our generation, I mean this is a large part of why we have more child molesters than racists in America. It just isn't part of our existence. During our entire lifetimes, the only affect of being black is that you get benefits, doors open for you. You are more likely to get a position in the Harvard Law School. Anyone who grew up watching the Brady Bunch -- racism and discrimination, at least discrimination against black people, there is some discrimination against white people -- simply isn't a part of our conceptional apparatus. Which is why it is so strange, of all people, this half-black man born in Hawaii in 1961 walking around like he's Martin Luther King." [Source]

Ann, it's you and your friend Mark who seem "angry". But I guess white anger is cool. It's that black anger we have to watch out for. 

Speaking of white anger, how about this guy?

"A Facebook photo of a handgun posted on Friday by Brad Staats, the Republican nominee for Tennessee's 5th Congressional District, has stirred controversy over its accompanying caption, which concludes with the words "welcome to Tennessee Mr. Obama."

"Many people in Tennessee keep asking me about my opinion on Second Amendment rights. Apparently Tennesseans are part of that crazy crowd that Obama says ‘cling to (their) religion and guns,'" Staats wrote, referencing remarks made by then-candidate Obama at a California fundraiser in 2008. "Well, then I must be part of that crazy crowd. Here is something that I usually have with me. Welcome to Tennessee Mr. Obama."

The photo of a Colt 911 semi-automatic pistol raised concerns among some who thought Staats might be threatening the President. [Source]

Oh my! Where does all this anger and hate for the beige one come from?
They have even put out a warning to "white women" (from Mitt's camp no less) about voting for his Oness. 

Gene Lyons, bless his soul, tried to understand it, and he wrote a wonderful essay about the phenomenon that is Obama hate. He rightfully concludes that by focusing on their hatred for Obama, they lose focus of what really matters and their party's brand will become tainted.

"The temptation for Southern Republicans would be to double down on the crazy, because “conservatism,” so-called, can never fail, only be failed. Also because religious melodrama is really what an awful lot of them are really about. That, and Koch Brothers money. They’re not actually conservatives at all, in the classical sense, but sentimental fanatics seeking to purge the nation of sin; adepts of “limited government” with their noses buried in women’s panty drawers; apostles of a lost Utopia located in a non-existent past, most often in 60s sitcoms like “The Andy Griffith Show.”

In that sense, fear and loathing of President Obama strikes me as a lot wider than deep; a fad, not an existential dread. They survived the Voting Rights Act; they’ll get over this. However, adapting to the new political reality may take some time.

Too bad, because the nation needs a principled conservative party to check the follies of the anti-gravity left."

Obama better hope that Mitt doesn't jump across the stage tonight. A man can only hold in his hatred for so long.

Mitt, please chill; it's the man's wedding anniversary for crying out loud.

Black v. Brown, a republican's dream.

It's one of the oldest political tricks in the book: divide and conquer. And Ann Coulter, bless her tortured soul, has been doing her best to put it into action.

Ann is known for her provocative comments, and this time she figured she would try to put a wedge between two of the democratic party's most loyal constituent groups.

"During the "This Week" roundtable's discussion of the politics of immigration reform and the Latino vote, conservative commentator Ann Coulter made the provocative claim that "Democrats are dropping the blacks and moving on to the Hispanics," while arguing that immigrant rights should not be considered civil rights."
 
This of course is how you weaken the brown coalition; get black folks and Hispanics fighting over the left over crumbs that have been given to them from the American pie.

Ann has a special place in her heart for the American Negro. She has previously declared that they are her Negroes.

"That's why the Democrats are dropping the blacks and moving on to the Hispanics," seeming to claim that Democrats are more aggressively courting the Latino vote than the African American vote, which polls show is firmly behind President Obama.

Coulter, author of the new book "Mugged: Racial Demagoguery From the Seventies to Obama," also argued that groups on the left, from feminists to gay rights groups to those defending immigrants, have commandeered the black civil rights experience.

"I think what - the way liberals have treated blacks like children and many of their policies have been harmful to blacks, at least they got the beneficiary group right," Coulter said. "There is the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow laws. We don't owe the homeless. We don't owe feminists. We don't owe women who are desirous of having abortions, but that's - or - or gays who want to get married to one another. That's what civil rights has become for much of the left."

When asked whether immigrant rights were not civil rights, Coulter responded, "No. I think civil rights are for blacks… What have we done to the immigrants? We owe black people something. We have a legacy of slavery. Immigrants haven't even been in this country." [Source]

Unfortunately, I suspect that a lot of black folks agree with Mrs. Coulter. There is not a lot of love between some black folks and Hispanics, who they feel-- and rightfully so-- can be just as racist and ignorant as the folks in the majority population. It's a fragile coalition, and it has been brought together because of the injustice reaped on each group --in one way or the other-- by some in the majority population who views them both in the same disdainful way.

Still, I find some of Ms. Coulter's comments to be interesting and true. But I think some of her conservative friends would strongly disagree with her. To them, America owes the Negro nothing. Her comment that "we owe blacks something"  might cause some eyebrows to be raised  in wingnutville.

Ann is a loose cannon, and when loose cannons fire there is no telling where the cannonball will drop.

Finally, WTF is wrong with the po po in Houston?

"A Houston police officer shot and killed a schizophrenic, wheelchair-bound double amputee threatening people with a pen at a group home for the mentally ill after authorities said the man advanced on the officer's partner.

The shooting occurred early Saturday morning after police responded to a call that resident Brian Claunch was acting aggressively after his caretaker refused to give him a cigarette and a soda, the owner of the home and police said."

 

"But field, the officers were in fear of their lives. Read the rest of the story." 

 

"The officers made verbal commands for the suspect to drop whatever he had in his hand, to stay still and to speak with the officers, but the suspect continued to make threats," Jodi Silva, a police spokeswoman, told CNN affiliate KTRK in Houston.

 

Claunch, who lost an arm and a leg in a train accident, trapped one of the officers with his wheelchair in the corner of a room and attempted to stab the officer with an object that turned out to be a pen.

 

Officer Matt Marin, "in fear of the safety of his partner and the safety of himself, discharges his duty weapon, striking the suspect," Silva said.

 

Marin shot Claunch once. He died at the scene, according to investigators." [Source]

Guns and cookies.

I know that guns and cookies are a strange combination, but both have been on my mind given the words and actions of two of my republican friends, lately.

 Let me start with the cookies, because more and more Flipper is showing the rest of us who live in the real world, why he shouldn’t be our leader.

So anyway, Flipper goes to Western Pistolvania and is offered some of the best cookies this state has to offer. What do you think he did? Yep, typical of the out of touch snob that he is, he turned his nose up at then. Then, to make matters worse, he took a shot at 7- Eleven. Now that, my friends, is flat out un- American!  

“I’m not sure about these cookies. Did you make those cookies?” he asked the women around him. “You didn’t, did you? No. No. They came from the local 7-Eleven bakery or wherever.”
Romney was not serious. But some of the folks at Bethel Bakery, which baked the cookies, didn’t find Romney’s remarks humorous.

“We wanted him to be welcomed with the best in the burg, and he had no idea, this guy has no idea how beloved this institution is that provided these cookies,” Bethel Bakery owner John Walsh said in an interview with ABC affiliate WTAE-TV out of Pittsburgh.
“It seemed like maybe he should have tasted them first before making the assumption,” Julie Lytle, who handles marketing for Bethel Bakery, said".

So Obama eats dog meat as a child. Flipper refuses to eat cookies as an adult. Which is worse? You be the judge. Does it say something about a man's character if he is prepared a meal by folks who admire him, and rather than take a bite -and at least pretend to show some appreciation for what they did- he makes jokes about the fruits of their labor? I think that it does.

Now on to the subject of guns.

Ann Coulter, as republicans love to do, is trying to rewrite history without a major chapter again.

This time she is trying to paint the democratic party of early American history as the party we know today.  It is not. That party started changing in 1948. Ann, does the word Dixiecrats mean anything to you? How about the words, Southern Strategy? I hope, for your sake, that it does not. Because if you do know the history of the movement away from the democratic party to the republican party by Southern whites; you are an incredibly shameless liar.  

Ms. Coulter, in a preposterous and absurd attempt to support the NRA; tries to make the argument that African Americans should support the NRA , and that they should  arm themselves with more guns. She argues that it was the democratic party who tried to keep guns out of our hands so that the kkk could have their way with us after the Civil War. This is laughable. Any person reading this with anything above a fourth grade education knows that supporting African Americans is the furthest thing from the minds of people supporting the NRA, today.  In fact, part of the reason they are such strong supporters of the NRA is because of their irrational fears of people of color. It is not because of their love of hunting.

Guns are destroying inner city neighborhoods because they are so easily available to the wrong people. Yet Ms. Coulter, in order to score cheap political points, says that what we need in certain neighborhoods is more guns, not less. (Besides, when it comes to guns, black folks don't get the benefit of the doubt like those other folks.)

That is a sad commentary on just how far some folks will go to support their political gang, and their perverse ideology. And it speaks volumes to where we are heading as a nation: More guns, less thinking. Shoot first, and talk later. I am not surprised that Ms. Coulter chose to go this route; she has been shooting from the hip for a very long time.

Finally, it looks like the you know who case has inspired  some copy cats. I swear "color arousal" is rampant in A-merry-ca.

    


   

Her blacks are better.

Most of us black folks in A-merry-ca know that we don't fit into a certain narrative that some folks have of their beloved country. We are here but we don't really belong. "If only they could have picked their own damn cotton".. that kind of thing.

To some blacks folks, on the other hand, that kind of talk is bordering on blasphemy.

"If the master’s house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the blaze out than the master would. If the master got sick, the house Negro would say, “What’s the matter, boss, we sick?” We sick! He identified himself with his master more than his master identified with himself. Yes Malcolm we do. And the folks in the house just love him. In fact, the folks in the house believe that their Negro is special.

You have fought against probably your family members, probably your neighbors, you have thought everything out and that’s why we have very impressive blacks in our party.” [Source]

I Love the possessive tone there Ms. Coulter. "Our blacks". I am sure that Herman and his friends are proud of the fact that they are your blacks as well.
I just bet that there is no other place that they would want to be than with you.

What poor Herman and his friends will never understand is that folks like Ann Coulter and her friends on the right will never truly see him [or others who look like him] as equals. "Our blacks are so much better than their blacks"? WTF? I guess we should call it a "Freudian slip" because it is so revealing.  

Still, Ann and her friends are rallying around their black guy, Herman Cain, and they see his latest troubles as just another case of those evil liberals piling on. (BTW, I agree with Roland Martin. Can we stop with the high tech lynching talk? Herman is not being lynched. His dumb ass is being exposed for the lying fraud that he is. This is a lynching.) It is not. But it's funny to see Coulter -and folks like her- playing the race card. I guess this is what happens when you mess with one of her Negroes.

Finally, I am disappointed with his O ness and his administration for saying no to the legalization of the collie weed. I certainly hope that they will reconsider their position.

Actually, after seeing that Rick Perry video from New Hampshire, I am starting to think that he might be our guy on the legalization front. From the looks of it my man lit up a big fat one right before he took the stage. 

The Godless President.

A good friend of mine from back in the day sent me an e-mail about a religious organization she belonged to, and she wanted to know if I had ever heard of them. I hadn't, but knowing the type of person she is I figured that they couldn't be all bad. I checked out the link, and even though I am sure that I am not on the same page with them, I am not going to knock them for what they do or their beliefs. This is, after all, A-merry-ca.

Which leads me to my girl Ann Coulter and the latest right wing witch hunt of his O ness.
Seems Ann now believes that his O ness is an atheist, and she had no problem saying so for all the world to hear. Just like Beckkk with the O is a racist charge, Ann is now adding godlessness to the mix.

I guess she is hoping to spike up the narrative a notch. Take it to the next level. It's not enough to make him a hated Muslim anymore, to really turn A-merry-cans against him he has to be someone who doesn't belive in a supreme being at all. That will fire up the base. That is just un-A-merry-can. All the time forgetting, of course, that if he was an atheist he would probably be closer to how the Founding Fathers view this whole religion thing than they are.

I think there is a verse in the good book of Matthew that says "Ye shall know them by their fruits." I have to be honest with you Ann; his O ness, just to my untrained eye, seems a lot more godly that you do. You may never like his policies, and I might not like some of them, but he doesn't strike me as a man who lives his life in a way that we should all shy away from. In fact, it's quite the contrary; he seems to have a happy well adjusted family, and he is all things good and decent. Which is more that I can say for you and your "God" loving friends.

Tongue planted in those very long cheeks, maybe? I doubt it. There is a message in there somewhere, and I think we all know what it is and who it was meant for.

I am sorry, but if we are in a life and death struggle for the future of the republic I don't want to be your damn friend. Sadly, this is what happens with the political elites and talking heads in this country: they are all in it together. It's a big scam, and ordinary A-merry-cans are getting played like Jimmy Hendrix's guitar.

And speaking of life and death struggle: I see that former VP Dick Cheney is in the hospital again due to his ticker acting up. Now there is a man that doesn't play nice with his political enemies. I bet you would never see Cheney going on a speaking tour with any democrat. (Of course, from the way his ticker has been acting up, I am guessing that he won't be going on any tours anytime soon..... I might have to go to church tomorrow.

And finally, I know that Wal-Mart shoppers can get damn near anything in those stores, but babies?!

Reason number ten- He looks better in a suit.

Reason number nine- "Ditto heads" are never going to vote for the black guy.

Reason number eight- Rush will make 400 million over the next eight years, and Obama makes $400,000 per year. These are tough economic times, A-merry-cans can relate better to the guy who makes less.

Reason number seven- The man's name is Rush.

Reason number six- Because at the rate Rush is going he won't live to see the next election.

Reason number five- Because no matter what Rush says, he doesn't want a debate.

Reason number four- Rush has a face for radio and Obama has one for television.

Reason number three- Obama can't pick on Ann Coulter, she is a woman.

Reason number two- Did I mention that the president looks better in a suit?

And the number one reason that Obama should go after Rush Limbaugh: Two beautiful children and a lovely wife; beats cigars, drug use, and strange Caribbean vacations, every time.

Please no jokes about that picture. (woozie I swear..) Yes, that's JJ with [M]ann Coulter. Hey, why not JJ? From what I hear the lady is somewhat of a freak. Just ask Bill Maher, James Tully, Bob Guccione, Jr., the FBI agent boyfriend, the Democratic Staffer boyfriend, Dinesh D'Souza.....oh lawd I can't keep up with this ninety pound dynamo.

But I love [M]ann Coulter, and I know that most people on the left thinks that she should be thrown in a cage with some of Michael Vick's starving dogs; but I tend to disagree. We need [M]ann, we need that person from the right to tell us what they really feel about the rest of America.

[M]ann coulter knows that. [M]ann Coulter is no dummy. Michigan Law Review, Cornell undergrad, the whole nine. Trust me, as someone who had a potential law review article rejected, I understand that to get on Law Review it took some work and some serious smarts. So I honestly believe that there is some brains in that big blond head.

America needs [M]ann Coulter. Forget the fact that she said that Timothy McVeigh should have gone to the New York Times building. That she called for Bill Clinton's assassination. That she called John Edwards "fag". That she said the 911 widows were glad for the tragedy and profited from it. That she called for a "final solution" for all Muslims.... I could go on, but you get the point. In spite of all her outrageous rants, I want her to keep writing (she has a new book coming out tomorrow) to keep talking, and to keep making those FOX NOISE appearances. Fortunately, I don't have to wish too hard, because Ann loves the spotlight, and like an aging porn star, she just won't go away.

So here is one blogger who supports the anorexic one. She has every right to speak her mind, and to keep writing her books.

Her fans will keep buying those books, and keep making her rich. And you know what; they deserve every inch of her bony frame.

Let's get this out of the way right now; everyone has skeletons in their closet. Hey, it's the American way. After all, how can you seriously "pursue happiness" if there ain't a few skeletons here and there? So unless you are Amish, up for saint hood, or you were born in a manger in a town called Bethlehem, I am guessing you have done some sh** in your life that you are not very proud of.

Which brings me to my friends in the rethuglican party. I think I could tolerate these guys a little more if they weren't such hypocrites. All that preaching about moral virtues and finger pointing at the unholy secular progressives as well as the rest of us heathens, tends to get really old with me, especially if you have some skeletons dancing in your closet your damn self. Take Newt Gingrich for example, the man who led the rethuglican charge to impeach the first black President while all the time getting his freak on with his own little mistress on the side. Now now Newt, that's not nice, pointing your finger at Bill's little indiscretion, and doing who knows what while tucked safely away in your closet. Oh if those closet walls could talk huh Newt. "Ahhh Newt give it to me big daddy, give it to me Mr. Speaker, put that gavel right there, aah this it big daddy, show me how that Republican revolution works, and put your contract on America all over me" What a creep, but worse, what a hypocrite. And let's not forget that other rethuglican hypocrite, who surfaced right around the same time, thanks to Hustler Magazine exposing his phony ass. Seems Bob Livingston (R) Louisiana, was getting his freak on as well all the while pointing his fingers at Arkansas Bill. But he at least he had some shame, resigned in the midst of the bru ha ha, and walked away from his political life and the halls of congress. Is it any surprise then that the latest major republican candidates for President have had at least nine wives (that we know about) between them. Not a bad number if we are talking about nine candidates or even eight, but we are talking about four f*****g guys here. The irony is that the Mormon among them has had only one wife. ("Field that statement was a little bigoted against Mormons". Yeah please forgive me on that one)

I wish more of these rethuglican and conservative hypocrites would be like Bob Livingston and just walk away. But they won't. There is Newt every night on the Fake News Network, telling us his vision of America and flirting with a run for President. There is Dick Morris-that toe sucking megalomaniac- every night on; where else, The Fake News Network, telling us how the elections will turn out and what the political trends are. There is Ollie North-a convicted lier and felon-on; where else, the Fake News Network, with his own show, and staring us down with his disgusting mug every night as if he is proud to be Ollie. I mean I know we believe in forgiveness and redemption in America, but at some point we have to say enough. (I swear I can't wait to see who that D.C. madam has the goods on.)

I am sure the irony wasn't lost on anybody when it turns out that conservative Marine hero, Cpl. Matt Sanchez, turned out to be a gay porn star, and hooker.(Seems he was a hero to the right because he took on a bunch of "moonbats" at Columbia University) I bet everyone of those homophobic morons that attended the CPAC convention are trying to remember if they shook his hands or not. "Honey you know that Marine fellow we met in Washington? Did you know he was a fag? Oh my God, I can't remember if he touched me or not! " There he was with the "camel neck" one, mAnn Coulter, (yeah the same mAnn Coulter that called John Edwards a "faggot") smiling for the pics and looking like just another clean cut military man who is proud of his country and his commander in chief. Semper Fi soldier! Geez. But you get the point, if we weren't talking about Republicans this would not be an issue, the fact that this Marine is a former gay porn star. But because we are talking about rethuglicans, it is an issue, because we all know how they feel about the likes of gays,secular progressives, and liberals. I am so glad Matt Sanchez worked his hustle on those conservative Republicans ( I can't believe that he buys into their bull sh**) and used their dumb asses for maximum exposure at the CPAC convention and on shows like Hannity and Colmes; on where else, you guessed it, The Fake News Network.

But this is what happens when you have skeletons in your closet but act like you don't. In the field's world, rethuglicans are like slick preachers, it's always do as I say but not as I do. Unless of course someone opens up that closet door...."I have sinned against you and I beg your forgiveness" . Hey f**k you, I don't forgive you, and I can't stand you mother fu****s . But that's just me. I understand that it's not my forgiveness you want, it's your Gods. At least that's what you say. But I am guessing that getting the forgiveness of your conservative base and the Kool Aide drinkers who follow you is more important than Gods. After all, God doesn't vote does he?

No Tears For The Dukies

OK I tried to hold out as long as I could on this, but since it won't go away I am compelled to comment, and I am afraid allot of people won't like what I have to say.

If you are reading this, and you have heard of Gary Neal, or Michael Cleaves, you are either a basketball junkie or you attended LaSalle University in the fall of 2005. How about Lamar Owens, have you ever heard of him? Probably not, and I will tell you why you haven't. Lamar Owens, Gary Neal, and Michael Cleaves, are not rich privileged frat boys who went to Duke University. But like Messrs Finnerty,Seligman, and Evans, they are all athletes; and that's where the similarities end. All the young men I mentioned were accused of rape on college campuses. But unlike the three men you have never heard of, the men of privilege from Duke University have had the luxury of 24 hour FAKE NEWS coverage, Sean Insanity, and other conservatives like the camel neck one-Ann Coulter- and Bill Oliely screaming in their defense and for their freedom from day one. You would think Mike Nifong was Jessie Fuc***g James for crying out loud! Oh yes, the case is unraveling now, and yes, girlfriend probably lied on the frat boys-they probably stiffed her on her tip- but you would think that all these conservative pundits, including house Negro de jure and self hater, Thomas Sowell, were in that frat house with her on that faithful night. And they are outraged, outraged that such a travesty of justice could take place in America. And outraged that these poor boys won't be able to get their lives back, and that they are scarred for life.

Give me a fu****k break please! These boys will be just fine. They are each one book deal away from being set for life. They are even suing the University for crying out loud! I hope you caught their parents on T.V. the other night. They were furious that this was allowed to happen to their children. Well just who the fu** do they think they are? News flash! This kind of sh** has been happening to allot of poor black parents children for a long time. You must not have remembered how many of our boys were hung just for looking at Missy back in the day. Oh how soon we forget! Well I didn't, so excuse me if I am not crying any tears for the Duke Lacrosse boys right about now.

By the way, the gentlemen I mentioned in the second paragraph of this post, were all black and all were accused of raping white women. And like the Dukies, they were all athletes. And like the Dukies will all eventually be, they were all acquitted of all charges. In the case of the two LaSalle basketball players, they were kicked out of school, lost their basketball scholarships, and had to spend a ton of money in legal fees, to exonerate themselves and beat the charges. Lamar Owens was a quarterback for the Naval Academy football team, and was accused of raping a "blond athletic California type" classmate. He allegedly raped her at a party while she was drunk. Never mind that witnesses said she cursed Owens when he refused a lap dance from her. Anyway, he was also acquitted and the Judge in the case was so disgusted with the prosecution, that he publicly chastised them for having such a poor witness. Which trust me, is something Judges almost never do. So where were the conservative bloggers, pundits, and the FAKE NEWS NETWORK when these boys needed them? Where was the collective outrage at an out of control prosecutor and legal system that allowed these boy's lives to be shattered? Mmmmm, is that crickets I hear?

Sorry folks, with all due respect to the likes of William Anderson, I am going with the collective over individual rights on this one. Maybe I want to punish these Dukies for some of the sh** my people had to go through, and maybe I am just sick of all the hypocrisy. But I really don't give a damn about those boys from Duke, and what they had to go through. Sorry, call me callous, and non-caring, but you and I know those boys will be just fine. There are too many of my people buried in graves all over the South who will never have the luxury of going against a political opportunistic DA like Mike Nifong, or lose their damn Lacrosse scholarship at some exclusive University. Hell, that would have been the least of their problems. No, they lost their fu****g lives for their "inappropriate behavior". Somehow I think the Duke boys will be able to put their lives back together. After all, they have so many people in their corner.
