I have a confession to make: I am not very handy around the house. I am embarrassed to say that Mrs. Field is probably handier with tools than I am.
My philosophy is simple: No matter how small the job, if it calls for a person who is trained to do it, I am giving them a call. I will call the plumber if I have to put on a new shower head.
Folks, I say all of this for a reason: If I do happen to ever need something for my home; you will never see my black ass in Lowe's home improvement stores ever again. Strictly Home Depot from here on out, and here is why:
"Pressure from a conservative evangelical group led Lowe's home improvement store chain to pull its ads from the TLC reality show "All-American Muslim," but now the company is facing calls from celebrities and politicians to boycott Lowe's.
Mia Farrow and Russell Simmons have called for a boycott of Lowe's on Twitter, with Simmons promising to "sic every civil rights agency on (Lowe's) until they straighten this out." He is also urging his Twitter followers to sign a petition -- which, as of 3:25 ET Monday, had 9,660 of the 10,000 signatures the creators of the petition are hoping for -- to urge other companies to advertise during "All-American Muslim."
Meanwhile, California state Sen. Ted Lieu called the Lowe's ad pull "stunning bigotry."

Lieu posted on his website a copy of a letter he wrote to Lowe's CEO Robert Niblock, calling for the company to apologize for its ad pull or face possible "legislative remedies."
"Lowe's action is bigoted, shameful, and un-American," Lieu wrote. "I call on Lowe's to rescind its action and apologize to Americans who are Muslim. If Lowe's continues its religious bigotry, I will encourage boycotts of Lowe's and look into legislative remedies."
Lowe's, which yanked its advertisements from the TLC series after pressure from the Florida Family Association, didn't respond to a request from TheWrap for comment, but did issue an apology of sorts. The company seems to be expressing contrition that pulling ads made people angry, and not necessarily for actually pulling the ads." [Source]
I agree with Sen. Ted Lieu; it is "stunning bigotry" on Lowe's part. But hey, it probably won't affect their bottom line. I suspect that most of the folks who shop at Lowe's absolutely loved their bigoted stance on this issue. Besides, Corporate bigotry is nothing new to A-merry-ca. (They are people, right?)
Finally, speaking of bigotry; the Big R is trying to throw me off my game again by sending me off on a "wild goose chase":
"The Patriot Freedom Alliance, based in Hutchinson, Kansas, posted a photo of a skunk, stating it had replaced the eagle as a symbol of the president because "it is half black, half white and almost everything it does stinks."
The depiction was on the group's home web page on Saturday but gone on Sunday, said Darrell Pope, president of the Hutchinson chapter of the NAACP. It was also not on the site Monday, the day after an article about it appeared in the Hutchinson News-Leader newspaper.
"They tried to pass it off as satire, but it was hurtful and malicious," Pope said Monday. He said the depiction was racist in reference to Obama, who was born to a white mother and black father.
Pope said he did not contact the tea party group about removing the skunk reference but that it never should have been posted in the first place.
A representative of the Patriot Freedom Alliance who maintains its web site did not immediately return phone calls on Monday. Another member declined to comment.
Hutchinson is a city of about 42,000 in central Kansas, northwest of Wichita." [Source]
Hmmm, the old racist skunk......nope, don't see it. Sorry folks, I have to take a racism chase pass on this one.
Believe me, I am pretty sure that my tea party friends from Hutchinson, Kansas won't be inviting the field over for Sunday dinner anytime soon, but this particular political ad. does not strike me as racist. Maybe I am missing some kind of historical connection with how racists view the the skunk in connection with us black folks, but I just don't see the Big R with this one.
Stay away from the skunk, folks. They won't start stinking you up unless you mess with them.

Just another "nice" guy. And Mitt needs a bookie.
"RADFORD, Va. -- The man authorities say killed a Virginia Tech police officer before committing suicide had broken up with his girlfriend over the summer and vaguely mentioned some family issues, but he was loyal and never hinted at plans for violence, friends and former classmates said Saturday.
Police say Ross Truett Ashley, 22, stole a car at gunpoint Wednesday from his landlord's office in what would be a precursor to the events a day later: On Thursday, police say he killed the police officer, then turned the gun on himself in a parking lot on the campus.
"Ross wasn't that kind of person. He was friendly, nice," said Nic Robinson, a 21-year-old history major". Hold it!
Why is it that when certain people commit these heinous crimes someone will invariably describe them as a "nice friendly person"? "Or, they are a "family man", or "someone who was caring", or someone who "loves children."
This latest shooter wasn't "friendly and nice"; he was a f^&%$#g animal who took the life of another human being for his own selfish reasons. [Story]
Finally, I will bet Mitt Romney $10,000 that he made a fool of himself last night. What an elitist jerk. There are families in A-merry-ca who will not see $10,000.00 this year, and he is casually saying that he will drop that much on a silly bet to prove a point.
In fact, let me just check out the Iowa Criminal Code:
Flipper Mitt is lucky that his ass wasn't arrested last night. But I guess getting smoked in a debate by a serial philanderer and ethics violator is punishment enough.

The chase continues. Because the Big R doesn't know what "post- racial" means.
I see that the Big R has been in training while I was paying attention to other things. Now he has me chasing his ass all the way to upstate New York:
"One of the most hated racial slurs that an African-American can hear is bringing attention to the Kenmore East High School girls varsity basketball team of Tonawanda, NY near Buffalo. More than a dozen girls from the high school team have been suspended and face other sanctions for chanting the n-word in a regular pregame locker room chant.
Sophomore Tyra Batts recently told The Buffalo News that her teammates would hold hands before the game, say a prayer and then shout "One, two, three ni**ers!"
According to The Buffalo News, the use of the word came to light after Batts was suspended for getting into a fight about the use of racial slur during practice.
Although Batts was alarmed by the chant, she told The Buffalo News that she was outnumbered and that the use of the slur had been justified as a team tradition.
"I said, 'You're not allowed to say that word because I don't like that word,' and they said, 'You know we're not racist, Tyra. It's just a word, not a label,'" she told the paper. "I was outnumbered."
The 15-year-old eventually exploded after a practice when a teammate called her a "black piece of (expletive)." She says she got into a fight with the girl later in school.
"It was a buildup of anger and frustration at being singled out of the whole team," she further explained.
Batts then erupted and started fighting with one of the team members. Both girls were immediately given out of school suspensions for the physical altercation, but after district administrators began to speak to each member of the team -- individually and in groups -- they discovered Batts struck her teammate in response to a racial slur. Following this revelation the entire team was suspended but Batts was allowed to return to school, according to a statement released by the school district..." [Source]
The Big R is very slick; he has actually gotten to an entire basketball team of young impressionable lily white girls, and they probably don't even realize it. (Or, maybe they do. Who knows?) I wonder what in the word Nigger made these youngsters think that they could play better just by saying it? I am guessing that that they have spent a tad bit more time listening to gangster rap than learning their play book.
So using the "n- word" is a tradition with the basketball team.Nice. What's their nick name, the Fighting Niggers? What a country.
"In fact, in regards to the explanation of current team members that using the n-world [sic] is a tradition, some of the team's former players who took to Twitter to deny that any "tradition" of racial chants exists."You (racist) b*tch," a 2010 graduate tweeted. "Glad I'm out of there."
Don't be so glad just yet Ms. 2010 graduate; the Big R can get to you wherever you go.
Consider another case down in South Carolina. This time the Big R actually got to a Negro down there and has him hating himself. Now that takes some doing, but he did it.
"Byron Thomas is a 19-year-old student at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. He had a Confederate battle flag hanging in the window of his dormitory room on campus where it could be seen by people walking through campus. Just before Thanksgiving, university officials told him to remove the flag. After he posted a video online at CNN explaining his views, officials relented and told him he could display the flag.
In an email to the campus community, a university spokesperson stated that officials had asked Thomas to remove the flag “out of respect for his fellow students’ concerns.” But the email went on to state that the university had a firm regard for the First Amendment right of free speech and that “the university cannot and will not prohibit these flags or other symbols that our students choose to display.”
By the way, Thomas is an African American." [Source]
h/t to David for sending me the link to this story.
Poor Byron says that when he sees the flag he doesn't see racism; he sees southern pride. And he does not see the big deal with proudly displaying it in his dorm room, window. Byron sees the flag as a symbol, and as a sign of respect. Check out the link and click on Byron's video to see more of where Byron is coming from.
I actually considered giving up blogging a few months ago, but now I know that I have to hang in there a little longer; you Negroes need me. The Big R is way too powerful for you. He can get into your minds and do crazy things to your psyche.
But hang on Byron, it's not too late. If any of you reading this post know Byron Thomas please tell him to holla at the field. I will be waiting for him, and I have some brand new track shoes that I think might be just his size.
Sometimes it's not enough to chase the Big R, sometimes you have to run away from him as well. Clearly Byron hasn't been running fast enough.

One tough cookie.
"The first thing Newt should do while in the big house is contract his bust be added to Mount Rushmore. Think of all the jobs that will create."
That was classic. I wish I thought of that line, but the credit goes to someone writing in the comment section of the Washington Post online. The person was commenting after this article by Dana Milbank, which outlined just how Nasty Newt can be.
"Nearly two decades ago, Gingrich’s political action committee, with the help of GOP wordsmith Frank Luntz, issued a now-famous memo telling Republican candidates which words they should use to describe their opponents. Among them: “anti,” “betray,” “bizarre,” “corrupt,” “destructive,” “disgrace,” “shame,” “lie,” “pathetic,” “radical,” “self-serving,” “selfish,” “shallow,” “shame,” “sick,” “traitors.”
“These are powerful words that can create a clear and easily understood contrast,” this Gingrich-endorsed memo explained. “Remember that creating a difference helps you. Apply these to the opponent, their record, proposals and their party.”
With that memo, and with the slashing style of politics that brought Republicans to power in the House for the first time in generations, Gingrich did more than anybody else to set the tone in Washington."
Yes Newt, you are Mr. Nasty. Embrace your nastiness and stop wimping out.
You are starting to look like a bigger phony than your closest rival, and, believe me, that takes some doing.
Finally, here is a little issue that has me going, hmmmmm:
Most of you know that Philly fans are rough, and they are catching the business for giving it to the fiance of one of our players this year. The player happens to be one Casey Matthews, who sucks big time as a player. Eagles fans have not been pleased with Casey, and his fiance made the mistake of wearing a jersey with his name on the back to a recent game.
"Eagles linebacker Casey Matthews has had a rough season. Over the past few games, he’s served mainly a special teams role. He’s been bounced from outside linebacker to inside linebacker to eventually the bench. The rookie was given a chance to start multiple times this season but hasn’t been able to put it together. Unfortunately, Eagles fans took note of the fact that he has struggled. What’s even more unfortunate is their decision to take it out on his family.
“I’m trying to,” Matthews said when asked about winning over Philly fans. “It’s hard. One of the earlier games, they harassed my family and made my fiancee cry. It’s tough. It’s frustrating. That’s just how they are here. If you win they love you, so I guess we’ve just got to turn things around and just start winning again.”

Does that surprise anyone? These are the same fans who were chanting for their head coach to be fired just a couple weeks ago. They also allegedly threw beer at the Giants bus earlier in the season. .." [Source]
Oh please! This has been big news all over sports talk radio hear in Philly, and it has been getting some national play as well. Most people are coming down on the fans for their behavior towards this "poor woman", and she has been cast as the poor damsel in distress among the ignorant and boorish fans who make up Eagle Nation.
Well, this is why I say hmmmmm: Remember when those same Eagles fans gave the business to the mother of Redskins runner, Clinton Portis?
"Updated: 12:07 a.m. ET Jan. 3, 2006
Clinton Portis took a beating in Sunday's victory over Philadelphia. Apparently, his mother dished one out.
In the fourth quarter, Portis's mother, Rhonnel Hearn, was sitting in the end zone at Lincoln Financial Field with Portis's stepfather and some friends when an Eagles fan apparently tossed a beer on the group. Portis's mother responded by punching the woman in the face, Portis said.
The altercation explained why Hearn watched part of the game from the Redskins sideline.
"She busted some lady in the nose, but that'll just teach you about messing with her," Portis said. "I think fans take that too serious. People come to the game to have a good time, that's what you should do. If you decide your team is losing and you want to cause trouble, then you're going to get what you're looking for. And yesterday, whoever that fan was, they got what they were looking for."
Portis rushed for 112 hard yards Sunday but re-injured an already sore shoulder and left wrist after being horse-collared in the fourth quarter by linebacker Trent Cole. "It's one of those Mondays where I feel like I ain't going to make it," Portis said with a laugh.
His mother, he said, fared better. "My mom can protect herself," Portis said."

After this story, the sentiment went the other way: the fans were right and mama Portis was wrong to go all Joe Frazier on some loud mouth.
Oh those tough black women. Hmmmmm.

Killing the innocent.
She was stabbed;beaten; sexually assaulted; and thrown in the dumpster like a piece of trash. Just awful.
And now we have an alleged killer. Dude worked in the apartment complex where the little girl lives, and he is only 20 years old.
"We believe that this horrendous crime was planned and calculated," Vernon Keenan, the director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, told reporters.
One resident said she told investigators about a recent conversation she had with Brunn, who mentioned that someone could break into one of the many vacant apartments in the complex and harm a child.
Jorelys was abducted "in the immediate vicinity" of the apartment complex's playground, then taken to an empty apartment nearby, Keenan said.
"We have evidence that the murder occurred in that vacant apartment," he said. "At some point, the child's body was then disposed of in the Dumpster and compacted into trash."
Authorities have said Jorelys died of blunt force trauma to the head, was stabbed and had been sexually assaulted.
Earlier, Keenan said investigators had found blood in an empty apartment.
Brunn's adopted brother told CNN affiliate WXIA that the arrest was a "big mistake," and said investigators should have focused on the complex's other maintenance workers.
"I honestly think he is innocent. There's just no way he would do something like this. He's just a kindhearted person," Connor Brunn told WXIA. "[Story]
Yes Connor, I am sure he is. I bet he even had a dog when he was growing up.*shaking head*
But let's not stop in Georgia. Let's go to Motown where yet another poor innocent child was murdered [in pic]by someone masquerading as a human being this past summer:
"A young girl was fatally strangled before being burned "beyond recognition" in a Detroit building, a medical examiner's report released Monday found.
An autopsy conducted by the Wayne County medical examiner's office on Monday morning -- a day after the body was found in a vacant residence -- determined that the girl died by "asphyxia homicide," said Dennis Niemiec, a spokesman for the office.
Her skull had been crushed and she'd been significantly burned, but both happened after she was killed, he said.
"Any time a child is found dead, it's devastating," Niemiec said Monday afternoon. "You don't get used to it."
The medical examiner concluded that she was a 5- to 7-year-old girl, but has not identified her by name.
The girl's body is "beyond recognition," making it unrealistic that she could be identified by a relative or loved one, the spokesman added.
Detroit Police Officer Dan Donakowski said police are investigating this girl's death as a homicide." [Story]
Sick, just sick.
What's the name of that new planet they just found? Oh yeah, Kepler-22b.
I think I am ready to go.

Showing you Negroes how it's done.
And here I thought that only Negroes in A-merry-ca were welfare cheats and got things like food stamps. (Isn't Obama the "food stamp president"?)
Talk about a reality check. Two stories making headlines over the past couple of days made me realize that nothing could be further from the truth.
I mean, could it be? Do other people actually commit welfare fraud in A-merry-ca? Do other people actually get food stamps? Of course they do. Those questions were rhetorical. I suspect that folks who are always pointing fingers at my cousins know that they do as well, but pointing fingers is so much better than having to look at their own miserable life.
Of course, the gal up above is always watching, and she likes to f&^% with the A-merry-can psyche now and then by making us look at things that we don't want to see.
"SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A Texas woman who for months was unable to qualify for food stamps pulled a gun in a state welfare office and staged a seven-hour standoff with police that ended with her shooting her two children before killing herself, officials said Tuesday.

"SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A Texas woman who for months was unable to qualify for food stamps pulled a gun in a state welfare office and staged a seven-hour standoff with police that ended with her shooting her two children before killing herself, officials said Tuesday.
The children, a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, remained in critical condition Tuesday. The shooting took place at a Texas Department of Health and Human Services building in Laredo, where police said about 25 people were inside at the time.
Authorities identified the mother as Rachelle Grimmer, 38, and children Ramie and Timothy. Laredo police investigator Joe Baeza said Grimmer had recently moved to the border city from Zanesville, Ohio, about 30 miles east of Columbus.
Grimmer first applied for food stamps in July but was denied because she didn't turn in enough information, Texas Department of Health and Human Services spokeswoman Stephanie Goodman said.
Goodman didn't know what Grimmer specifically failed to provide. In addition to completing an 18-page application, families seeking state benefits also must provide documents proving their information, such as proof of employment and residency.
"We were still waiting, and if we had that, I don't know if she would still qualify or not," Goodman said.
Goodman said Grimmer's last contact with the agency appeared to be a phone call in mid-November. When the family entered the Laredo office on Monday shortly before 5 p.m., Goodman said Grimmer asked to speak to a new caseworker, and not the one whom she worked with previously." [Source] & [Source]
Poor Ms. Grimmer. She just wanted to feed her family. There is no love for poor people in A-merry-ca. Still, I bet that she wasn't on blogs demonizing other groups of people because of how they looked. She just wanted to be able to eat.
And then there is that wonderful couple out in my sister's hometown of Seattle, Washington:
"Federal agents have raided a Seattle couple’s $1.2 million lakefront home looking for evidence that they’ve bilked the government for more than a decade.
Filing a civil lawsuit Friday, federal prosecutors in Seattle claim Lyudmila Shimonova and her partner, chiropractor David Silverstein, sucked money out of state and federal assistance programs while living well in a Lake Washington mansion.
Both have been accused of welfare fraud, allegedly making false claims for government assistance. Neither has been charged criminally.
All told, authorities claim the couple received $135,000 in federal housing assistance benefits, as well as additional support through a federal program for destitute disabled Americans and state programs meant to feed families.
“All of these programs are need-based programs, meaning that a person can qualify for the programs only if he or she demonstrates that his or her income or resources fall below a certain level,” a Department of Housing and Urban Development special agent told the court. “The investigation has developed substantial evidence that the subjects defrauded theses programs by misrepresenting and concealing material information.”

You Negroes in the hood allowing your baby daddies to live in your Section 8 house and selling your food stamps to your neighbors are small time. You could learn a thing or two from the good doctor and his wife.
Finally, as most of you may or may not know; I think Mumia shot that po po in Center City, Philadelphia back in the day. But I never thought that he should fry for it, because I am opposed to the death penalty.
So I was glad when DA Seth Williams decided not to pursue the death penalty in his case. And I think that I can honestly speak for all Philadelphians when I say, enough! It's time to move on.
That means you, too, Mrs. Faulkner. I feel for you and your loss, but......let's just move on. It's time to end the Michael Smerconish tour and to get on with your life.

Mitt says no, and Newt dares Nancy.
I come to praise and to rip flipper Mitt tonight. I am praising him because he told Mr. Bad Hair no thanks to his post Christmas debate. It looks like, just this once, he turned his back on those importunate demands of the wingnut crowd. Flipper Mitt seems to be thinking about all those independents who will vote in the general election. The problem is, of course, that he has to get out of the primary, and if he can't beat Newt, there will be no showdown with his Oness come November, 2012.
I have to rip him because.....well, let's just say that flipper Mitt's milks isn't so clean.
"Shortly before leaving the governor's office in Massachusetts, Mitt Romney's administration spent nearly $100,000 of state money to purge computer and email records in an unprecedented attempt to wipe out the paper trail of his tenure. His staff took home hard drives from state-owned computers and erased emails and other communications from state servers, complicating current efforts to retrieve and review the records of Romney's four-year term that ended in 2007.Related:
Folks, it's called Romneycare, and flipper Mitt is trying very hard to run away from it. Good luck with that.
Finally, I see that Nancy Pelosi is threatening to tell the rest of us a little something about Newt. Nancy knows a lot; she was on the ethics committee that investigated him back in the day.
"Pelosi: “One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,” Pelosi told Talking Points Memo. “When the time is right. … I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”
Oh my! What else could there possibly be about Newt that the rest of us need to know? Nancy, please tell, inquiring minds want to know.
Of course, Newt was not pleased:
"I want to thank Speaker Pelosi for what I regard as an early Christmas gift,” Gingrich said at a press conference in Manhattan Monday.
Gingrich denounced the threat from Pelosi, who is now the minority leader in the House, as “a fundamental violation of the rules of the House,” and said that if Pelosi were to disclose details of the investigation, it would expose the “tainted ethics process the House was engaged in.” He also called for the House to condemn Pelosi if she were to reveal anything from the ethics probe."
Well Newt, some of this stuff is a part of the public record, and I think that it's time we all started looking.

His staff took home hard drives from state-owned computers and erased emails and other communications from state servers, complicating current efforts to retrieve and review the records of Romney's four-year term that ended in 2007.Related:
It is not believed that Romney violated any laws, but according to state officials who spoke to Reuters, the move to scrub the digital archive of his administration was unusually thorough. Several members of his staff used their own money to purchase the hard drives of their state computers so that they could take them home after leaving their jobs. The staff also broke an existing lease on office equipment so that they could rent new "clean" computers at the end of their run, a move that cost the state $97,000 in additional funds.
Related: Romney claims that whatever record remains of his time in office — including possible details of what was erased — are not subject to state disclosure laws. However, like regulations governing the destruction of digital records, Massachusetts law is vague on what is and isn't allowed. The court ruling most likely to cover any disclosure ruling is from 1997 (well before most state business was done on email) and the state's official records law has not been updated to deal with digital records, meaning Romney could benefit from Massachusetts' failure to adapt to the 21st Century." Be careful of the headlines, and kissing Donald's ring.
You always have to watch for the okey doke (otherwise known as the fake out for my melanin challenged friends) when you are dealing with the main stream media here in A-merry-ca.
For instance, when I saw the headlines about the Detroit woman who traded in her home for a minivan, my first thought was: oh ohh, there goes one of my cousins again. You all know the stereotype: Negroes just love their cars, but they have no appreciation for the value of a home. ("Yes, but field, but you can live in your car, but you can't drive your house." You Negroes, I swear.....)
Anyway, so the story caught my eye, and, at first glance, I was a little disappointed:
"A mother living in Detroit has traded in her four-bedroom home for a 2006 minivan.LaWanda Flake, a 36-year-old, disabled mother of six traded in her four-bedroom, three-bath house, located in one of the city's better neighborhoods and valued at $96,000 for a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander with 85,000 miles, valued at between $5000 and $8,500."
Yes, it seemed bad, but then I read a little more:
"Flake said she posted the house offer on Craigslist because she needed a new car in order to get her children to school on time because the city's bus system was proving unreliable. Flake has an irregularly updated Twitter account, where you can see some of her complaints about the bus system.
Now, there are a couple of details that make this story far less crazy than it sounds at first. Number one, Flake and her six children are not living in the minivan. They've relocated to a three-bedroom home nearby that she was able to purchase on a $4,000 land contract.
And even though the house was once home to Diana Ross and the Supremes, Flake purchased it last year at a foreclosure sale for $3,600, not its near six-figure retail value. The house reportedly has several thousand dollars worth of necessary repairs waiting for the new owners, including a new furnace and water heater.
The family who purchased Flake's home has decided to stay anonymous for now. Flake agreed to not mention their names in the story, but she did note that she received several more lucrative offers for her home, including a Montana couple who offered Flake her choice of one of their four vehicles. And a man who recently moved back to Detroit from Las Vegas offered in trade his 1996 Bentley Brooklands luxury sedan, valued at about $20,000. A third trade offer was for a 1996 Corvette.
"I said, Oh wow! What am I going to do with a Corvette? I can't do anything practical with a Corvette," Flake said.Of course, with the current state of property values in Detroit, it sounds like Flake could have traded in one of those cars for another two or three houses." [Source]
So when you read the entire story, you realize that Ms. Flake might have actually made a good business decision: she purchased the $96,000.00 home for $3,600.00 and girlfriend has a new home which she purchased for $4,000.00. Now she even has anew van to get her kids to school.
Good for Ms. Flake, bad for news editors.
Finally, congrats to Mr. Birther for getting Newt to participate in his debate and getting him to make a trek to the big apple to kiss his ring. (Donald again expressed doubts that his Oness was born here.) Classy guy that Donald, he made fun of Jon Huntsman's religion and then lied about whether Huntsman had contacted him for a chance to kiss his ring like Newt.
Let's wait to see what Mitt does. I think that he was invited as well.

The final word on Herman.
I was going to prepare an epitaph for Herman Cain's political tombstone tonight, but the more I tried to think of something to write, the more I came up with blanks. I never considered Herman Cain a serious candidate from the start, so it was difficult to formulate a serious argument about him. Herman Cain never had a snowball's chance in Satan's home of winning the presidency of these divided states of A-merry-ca, and I suspect that he had to know that. If that's the case; the joke may be be on all of us. Like Sarah from Alaska, this was all a money making scheme for Herman from the start. Book deals, higher speaking engagement fees, and a television show on the news network for dummies is sure to come. And Herman will be smiling all the way to the bank. Hopefully he will be visit Jared and take care of the Mrs. after all the crap she put up with for him over these past few months.
There are some folks who saw Herman's run as some sort of republican conspiracy, and, who knows, they might be right. I wouldn't put anything past those people. This is NewsOne.com's West Coast Editor's take on the Herman Cain affair:
"Regardless of how you might have felt about Sharon Bialek or Karen Kraushaar, by the time Ginger White emerged, it was a wrap. Rather than face the firing squad alone, he walked out dragging his wife before the cameras. It was so sad. It was painful to watch.
The meteoric and mysterious rise of this largely unknown Black Republican was over. Herman Cain’s campaign went down harder than a groupie at a Lil Wayne concert. That the Republican Party would have any Black answer to the charismatic Barack Obama seemed so unlikely. But there he was. He was funny, relaxed in front of the cameras and clearly passionate. He was no dummy, did not come from a lot of money but made a lot of money selling pizza. He was everything your average Republican wanted to see in a Black candidate — almost. We all know when it comes to the Oval Office, almost is never good enough. It was a character assassination, no doubt.
But who was the triggerman? Meet Mark Block, Herman Cain’s campaign manager. This man is impressive. Mr. Block was the first 18-year-old ever elected to office in Wisconsin in 1974. In 1997 he was banned from politics in Wisconsin for three years and paid a $15,000 fine after being accused of violating election laws when he served as campaign manager for state Supreme Court Justice Jon P. Wilcox. Mark Block is powerful indeed. Yet he’s not powerful enough to get Cain on the national stage by himself.
In October of this year, an Associated Press story on Herman Cain explained some of the power behind the power “Cain’s campaign manager and a number of aides have worked for Americans for Prosperity, or AFP, the advocacy group founded with support from billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, which lobbies for lower taxes and less government regulation and spending.”
If you don’t know the Koch brothers, that’s OK. For those that don’t know, they run a company called Koch Industries. Wikipedia says Koch Industries is a conglomerate that is the second-largest privately held company in the U.S. David Koch is recognized as a philanthropist. His personal worth was recently clocked around $22.5 billion. Cain was backed by hardcore conservative one percenters. Why would they want a Black man to run the free world?
With the backing of the Koch family, it looked like the game was locked for Cain. But someone, somewhere knew Cain had a weakness for women. They had to. How was it before his campaign got underway nobody said “Hey look, if we’re gonna do this we need to know if you have any side chicks, spring break video tapes, baby mommas- anything?” Somebody had to have done some homework.
When the story first broke, Cain blamed Perry:
“Mr. Cain, in an article published by Forbes on Wednesday afternoon, accused Curt Anderson — an aide with Mr. Cain’s 2004 Senate campaign in Georgia and now an adviser to Mr. Perry — of being the source. Mr. Cain recalled telling Mr. Anderson about the harassment charges in 2003.
“It was a typical campaign conversation,” Mr. Cain told Forbes. “I told him that there was only one case, one set of charges, one woman while I was at the National Restaurant Association. Those charges were baseless, but I thought he needed to know about them. I don’t recall anyone else being in the room when I told him.”
Perry denied the charges and promoted the idea that it was possibly Romney who pulled the trigger. But it really doesn’t matter now.
The question is why? The answer is simple. The Republican Party never wanted a Black man to lead, but they wanted to look like they did. After the RNC Chariman Michael Steele (a right wing token if we ever saw one) was bullied by Rush Limbaugh and cast aside like a rusty spittoon, there was no Black Republican leader to represent the right. Most of the candidates Black America knew from the right were either seen as Toms (like Steele) or just had no juice on the block. They needed a new guy. A charismatic guy. A Black guy who looked like he could win, but couldn’t. Herman Cain was that Black guy.
Ultimately, Herman Cain assassinated himself. Shot himself in the heart and took his wife with him. His infidelity is his to own and his to work out between his God and wife. He knew what was in his past. Only his ego, or the false support of those in on the hit, would make him believe he could get past the vetting of so many in such crucial times. As of now, there is no fingerprints, no weapon, no get away vehicle. Suspects? There are many. We have Mark Block, the Koch Brothers to Perry, Anderson, its a long list." [Source]
I will leave the conspiracy theories to other folks. Me, I am just glad that I don't have to watch another day of this Herman Cain soap opera: All My White Women.

Lazy Negro children, Herman goes home, and a birther holds a debate.
Newt is blowing his dog whistles already. I guess you can't take any chances with the base. It's always good to appeal to their prejudices and fears while you are on top.
"On Thursday, Newt Gingrich reaffirmed previous comments that child labor laws are “truly stupid.” At a campaign event in Iowa, Gingrich explained that poor children need to learn how to earn money, rather than get it illegally.
“They have no habit of ‘I do this and you give me cash’-unless it’s illegal,” Gingrich said, according to multiple reports of the event.
A few weeks ago, Gingrich proposed a program in which janitors’ unions in schools would be thrown out and replaced with poor children. This, Gingrich said, would allow these children to learn how to work — something he says they do not learn in their communities. “Really poor children, in really poor neighborhoods have no habits of working and have nobody around them who works so they have no habit of showing up on Monday,” Gingrich said Thursday." [Source]
Yes, those poor kids don't know how to work, as opposed to those rich ones who bust their asses all day.
Dope!
I have a news flash for Newt: people in those "poor neighborhoods" work twice as hard as some of his neighbors and his fat ass. They just get paid minimum wage as opposed to the 1.7 million he gets for lecturing the folks at Fannie and Freddie about "history".
Herman Cain is heading home to see his wife; apparently he hasn't spoken to her since Ginger surfaced.
I really feel sorry for that poor woman; Herman says that she didn't know that he was paying a lot of Ginger's bills. (But it wasn't an affair, because Herman is just a nice guy like that.)
Anyway, Herman says that he has a big announcement coming tomorrow.
We can't wait.
Finally,Donald the Birther -working with some wingnut news outlet- is hosting his own debate on December 27, 2011, in Iowa. That should be a barrel of laughs. Donald really seems to have a grip on the republican party. All the major players have been to kiss his ring, and you get the feeling that they don't want Donald to fire them from his own political reality show. Let's call this one The republican Apprentice Candidates.
Good for Jon Huntsman. He told the clown from Birtherland to take a hike. Let's see who among the remaining republican candidates for president will do the same.

Guess who is coming to choir practice?
Sometimes the Big R isn't worth chasing. Honestly, why is the following even a story?
"A tiny church in rural Kentucky was fending off charges of racism Thursday after some members voted to ban interracial couples from most church activities, the members said, "to promote greater unity among the church body."
Members of the Gulnare Free Will Baptist Church in Pike County, Kentucky, voted for the resolution after their Sunday service, which says the church 'does not condone interracial marriage'.
The church member who drafted the resolution, Melvin Thompson, claims he is not racist and called the matter an 'internal affair'.
"I am not racist. I will tell you that. I am not prejudiced against any race of people, have never in my lifetime spoke evil about a race," said Thompson, the church's former pastor who stepped down earlier this year.
However, church secretary Dean Harville says the resolution only came after his daughter - who has attended Gulnare Free Will Baptist Church since she was a baby - visited the church this summer with her boyfriend from Africa.
Stella Harville brought Ticha Chikuni -- now her fiancé -- to services back in June. Harville, who goes by the name Suzie, played the piano while Chikuni sang for the congregation. The two had visited the church before.
Chikuni is originally from Zimbabwe but he has lived in the United States for 11 years. He now works as a student advisor at Georgetown College in Kentucky.
"Ticha Chikuni is a loved and respected member of the Georgetown College family as is his fiancé, Stella Harville, a 2010 graduate. We look forward to celebrating their wedding this summer," Todd Gambill, Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students at Georgetown College, told theGrio.
Church members voted 9-6 in favor of Thompson's proposed ban, Mr Harville said. It was taken after the service, which about 35 to 40 people attended. Mr Harville said many people left or declined to vote." [Story]
Folks, we are talking about the Gulnare Free Will Baptist Church in Pike County, Kentucky! And, 15 people voted. FIFTEEN!
I bet a lot of you are wondering why a devoted racism chaser is not putting this story very high up there in order of importance. I really have to wonder if a tiny church in Kentucky cares if they are called racist. Bad for publicity? Yes, like all those black families and progressive thinking people who were going to go to Pike County, Kentucky for their next vacation, are suddenly going to cancel their travel plans. "Mrs. Field, remember that trip we were planning to Pike County, dear? Bad news; we can't go. It turns out that they have a Baptist church down there with some racist in it." Seriously?
This story made national news, and, for the life of me, I can't figure out why. Maybe the cynic in me is not at all surprised that a preacher in a small Baptist church in Kentucky could be a racist. (BTW, the preacher's name is Melvin. Someone check his bloodlines?) Or, that a lifelong member of the church bringing home her own version of Kunta Kinte would not go over well with the congregation.
I guess A-merry-cans are still hoping that we are post-racial, and stories like this tend to bring us back to reality. I hate to question the moral rectitude of my fellow citizens, but thanks to blogging and my other daily pursuits; I have a front row seat to the ignorance and hatred parade that goes down Main Street every day.
So this story is a yawner, unless, of course, you happen to be poor Stella and Ticha. Don't worry guys; you don't need a church wedding, you still live in A-merry-ca, the "land of the free". Just remember, there is always city hall. You can thank Richard and Mildred Loving for that.
