Here comes another story of a police officer behaving badly without having to answer for his actions.
This one comes to us from the state of Washington, where officer Adley Shepherd, while trying to subdue a woman, used what most reasonable people would consider excessive force.
The officer is black and the subject of his beatdown was also black, so some of the usual suspects will be MIA with this story as it did not have the proper racial ingredients to make a grievance gumbo.
But it should make no difference. The actions of this officer, whether black, white, brown, or purple was wrong; and we can't allow police officers of any race-- or color--- to abuse their authority.
"Officer Shepherd reacted instantaneously to the kick by the suspect, who was wearing boots, with one punch to the suspect’s head which caused a fracture of an orbital socket,” the prosecutor’s office said. “While officer Shepherd may have had other options or alternatives, we have concluded that we would be unable to prove that officer Shepherd’s use of force was criminal”
The U.S. Attorney’s office will now pursue a civil rights investigation. However civil rights charges must meet a higher standard to warrant charges. Shephard could still face departmental discipline, up to being fired." [Source]
We will see what happens to officer Shepherd in the future, but right now he is chilling on paid leave, while Miyekko Durden-Bosley (in pic) might never see out of her eyes the same way again.
That was field Negro behavior on her part.
And they say that black folks can't swim.
