Florida tried it and before they got killed in court over it, they found that it cost far more than it saved, and more importantly to them, since they were just trying to push a narrative that people who collect public assistance are morally bankrupt and not worth the assistance they receive, they found a lower instance of drug use among applicants than among the general population.

Seven states hhave already failed this process. Tennessee tested 800 people and found 1 user before they quit. Florida's rate was 2.6%, but the state's rate of drug addiction is nearly 8%-meaning upper income people use drugs more than the poors.
Congressvarmints get no pension if they serve only one term. Senators can get a small pension after one 6 year term. I believe congress has to serve at least 5 years to get any pension.
As of 2014 all politicians in DC were required to buy insurance through ACA exchanges like everyone else-with a few exceptions.
