There are some words that just scream bullshit. For example, the check is in the mail, I am just around the corner, or I promise I won't cheat on you with my ex. Add anything Donald Trump says to that mix. Recently, at the Republican crazyfest in Dallas, the president promised every American a check for $5,000, IF and only IF, we vote in a Republican congress. This is the same guy, mind you, who promised us all a $2,000 dividend check from tariff proceeds, a $1,500 annual check from health care rebates, and a $5,000.00 dividend from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). My friends, if you are still waiting on on what Mr. Trump promised you that you would be receiving, I have a beautiful antique bell in Philly with a slight crack on the side that I would just love to sell to you.
Expecting a con man to help himself from conning you is madness. But it worked for Mr. Trump before, so can you blame him for thinking we are all gullible? Remember the wall that Mexico was going to pay for? I do. And of course we all know that it never happened. And a lot of you voted for him again in spite of the failed promises from his first term.
The thing about this latest promise is that even Republicans are questioning it. It would add over a trillion dollars to an already debt-ridded nation's budget, and congress would have to approve that type of spending. So far, that seems to be a pipe dream. This of course hasn't stopped the con man in chief from floating his offer to us, if he can just get our votes for his party. It sure seems like a bribe, but I understand that a case for bribery would be difficulty to make, as one could argue that he was just being a politician making a political promise to get elected.
Still, you have to ask yourself, if he has the ability to give us all a check for $5,000, why not just give it to us now? Why wait? Republicans control both houses of congress, so where is my money Mr. President?
The question was rhetorical. I know a con when I hear it, and no one does a con better than Don.

Trump’s minions are now claiming that the money for this bonanza wouldn’t come from Americans’ income taxes but from fees paid by extremely rich foreigners buying their way into the United States, via Trump’s so-called “gold card” visas. (A grotesquely immoral immigration policy, but whatever.)
There is pretty tiny number of people who would ever be able to afford to do this, so … yeah, the math ain’t mathing. Not gonna happen.

2024: Vote for me and I promise to stay out of prison for four more years.
2026: I know I'm definitely going to lose in the midterms, but I promise to keep feeding you the lies you're addicted to nevertheless.
