I feel like I am living in Barrow, Alaska in the middle of winter. I honestly could not tell the last time I saw the sun. It might not be 67 days ago, but it sure as ell feels like it.
And don't even get me started on the rain. April showers is supposed to bring May flowers; not more showers.
Anywhoo, the weather here on the East Coast kind of fits the mood of the country right now.
Maybe that's why we have been so mean to each other of late.
Think about it. You have the trump supporter who drives a tow truck refusing to help a disabled Bernie supporter who was stranded on the side of the road. He said that god told him not to help the poor woman. I guess the god of trump is not merciful.
"This, ladies and gentlemen, is Donald Trump's America.
On Monday, a disabled woman's car broke down 45 minutes away from her home after she was in an accident in Asheville, North Carolina. When her family mechanic could not come to get her, he called a local tow truck driver — who also happens to be an evangelical Christian who voted for Donald Trump. What happened next defies common decency, the basic tenets of Christianity and good business practice.
Ken Shupe arrived on the scene to tow Cassy McWade's car and even began the process of hooking her car up to be towed. It was then that he noticed that she had a Bernie Sanders bumper sticker on her car." [Source]
Of course we all know what happened next. Sorry Cassy. Next time leave the bumper sticker at home. We are trying to "make America great again."
But Bernie's supporters shouldn't get on their high horses just yet, because they were out on the political trail being mean as well.
"Just days after Donald Trump sewed up the title of presumptive Republican presidential nominee, supporters of independent Vermont Senator and upstart Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders came out in force to disrupt a Hillary Clinton speech in Los Angeles, forcing her to end the event early. Speaking to a largely Latino crowd in Monterey Park, Clinton weathered interruption after interruption, and as the local ABC affiliate reported, the protesters being led out all had Bernie Sanders’ name on their lips." [Source]
Things got so disruptive that Hillary had to cut her speech short.
People are so mean in America these days that poor Glenn Beck is literally crying about our sad state of affairs. Or at least the sad state of affairs of the republican party.
"Today on his radio program, the host let it be known that the GOP now belongs to Donald Trump and if Trump is the face of the party, that makes the party a bunch of racists. He disavowed everything he claimed Trump has caused the Republican party to stand for now, insisting that he has nothing to do with them anymore. He even went as far as to say Hillary Clinton will win the election.
“You will never elect another GOP person to high office ever again,” he claimed. His reasoning was that Trump has made the party appear so racist and Clinton will continue capitalizing on that, mobilizing a new generation of Democrat voters."
Glenn Beck calling the republican party a party of racist? My lord! What is the world coming to?
Next you are going to tell me that wild goats have taken over a town somewhere. Wait....
