NBC goes low.

Image result for megyn kelly image   I am not sure what NBC was thinking when they hired the "white Santa" lady away from FOX VIEWS.

For years she tried to put a pretty face and a short skirt on their race-baiting propaganda,  much to the delight of  their male dominated octogenarian crowd who ate it all up.  That all lasted until some of her fellow female "journalists" over at FOX decided that enough was enough, and they took things into their own hands (no pun intended) and blew the whistle on all the pigs who were allegedly chasing them around the desks.

But back to NBC. So they hire Megyn Kelly, and one of her first big interviews is with....wait for it.....Alex freaking Jones. That was not a misprint: ALEX JONES. The disgusting conspiracy theorist who has made a mockery of the truth and common human decency. (Kind of like the current president of the United States.)

Anyway, thankfully  NBC has been getting a lot of heat for their decision to have Kelly interview Jones, and one advertiser has pulled their news ads from NBC.

"Families of some of the 26 people who were killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre have criticized an upcoming NBC interview with Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist who has said the shooting was a hoax perpetrated by forces hostile to the Second Amendment.

As the host of “The Alex Jones Show” and the operator of the right-wing website Infowars, Mr. Jones has a wide following. He has called the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in New York City an inside job, promoted and then later apologized for helping spread the hoax known as “Pizzagate,” and asserted that an Idaho yogurt factory owned by a Kurdish immigrant was associated with a sexual assault before retracting that claim amid a lawsuit." [Source]

As is to be expected, Kelly had a weak defense for her publicity stunt of an interview. Something about shining a light on people like Jones.

Nice try. This is a ratings grab pure and simple, and the fact that NBC is letting Kelly take them down this rabbit hole speaks volumes about the bottom line profit driven journalism that companies like NBC push on all of us these days.

"Nelba Marquez-Greene, whose 6-year-old daughter Ana Grace was killed at Sandy Hook, said she fears that giving Jones exposure would encourage Jones' followers who have harassed her and others.

'You can't just put him in a box and say he's just a character,"  said. "He's really hurting people."'

It doesn't matter Ms. Greene, as long as people watch and boost their ratings, the "white Santa" lady will be just fine.

Finally, if you have not had a chance to take a look at the trump cabinet meeting today,  please take the time to watch it.

It was a disgusting display of butt kissing by grown ass men (and women) who should have so much more to offer in life than to kiss the big orange butt of the narcissist- in- chief.  Is that orange lipstick Betsy DeVos is wearing?

It was both funny and sad at the same time.

How can so many people not see that the emperor is naked?

Is there a "deep state" or is the administration just in a deep mess?

TWEET MEWhen you hear the term "deep state" you can't help but thing of a spy novel or one of those Hollywood blockbuster movies.

This is the term that trump and his cronies are throwing around now to explain all of the dysfunction and leaks coming out of this administration.

We are supposed to believe that former president Obama has operatives hidden in various government agencies throughout Washington, and that they are waiting on orders from him to topple the orange haired one. Give me a break!

What's scary is that president trump actually believes this crap, and, as a result, he is purging all those hard working government employees who he believes are hostile, not to American ideals, but to him. These are people who have worked in government all of their lives as civil servants, and who have worked  for both republican and democratic presidents. But now, because of trump 's paranoia, ----not to mention his white supremacist right- hand man with a master plan, they are all viewed as a threat to his well being.

Sean Spicer admitted today when asked by a reporter that the administration does in fact believe that there is a shadow government and operatives working behind the scenes trying their best to undermine the duly elected trump.

The irony in all of this of course is that the people doing most of the leaking actually work for trump. And it seems that they are doing it because of their own internal fighting amongst each other.

But trump is so obsessed with Obama, and he is so paranoid (he loves Alex Jones) that he refuses to believe that a lot of the leaks and problems with controlling a story is because of his own actions. (Mr. President, please delete your twitter account.)

Anyway, today the president fired over 45 US attorneys all at once. (Including one he lied to after telling him that he would stay on.) they all got their pink slips, and it was so sudden that many of them heard it on the news This is not that unusual; Clinton did it, and so did other presidents. But it's the way that trump did the firing that has folks scratching their heads.

Some of these attorney's are in the middle of large investigations, and they were told to pack their backs and leave immediately. At least other presidents has the decency to give these people proper notice and get their affairs in order. And what's even scarier is that he did this (like so many other decisions that he makes) because a FOX VIEWS host told him to do it.

The move caught one senator by surprise.

"The abrupt mass firing appeared to be a change in plans for the administration, according to a statement by Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

'In January, I met with Vice President Pence and White House Counsel Donald McGahn and asked specifically whether all U.S. attorneys would be fired at once,” she said. “Mr. McGahn told me that the transition would be done in an orderly fashion to preserve continuity. Clearly this is not the case. I’m very concerned about the effect of this sudden and unexpected decision on federal law enforcement.”'

So they lied. What else is new?

People in glass houses....

Image result for joe scarborough hillary image       There are some stupid high profile people in America who actually influence political thought.

He is a former republican congressman who left office under mysterious circumstances (more on that in a minute) and now co-hosts a sometimes popular inside the beltway political talk show on cable television.

This is what he said about the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal earlier today as described by Tommy Christopher over at Mediaite:

'"I know people have raised questions about my e-mail use and I understand why, I get it. So here’s what I want the American people to know. My use of personal e-mail was allowed by the State Department. It clearly wasn’t the best choice. I should have used two e-mails, one personal, one for work, and I take responsibility for that decision.'

Again, think what you will about the “scandal” — take Hillary’s sober tone with a grain of salt, if you’d like — but this was pretty clearly an attempt to make a dent in moving the trustworthiness numbers that have so many people worried.

Or, if you’re Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough, this is clearly an attempt by Clinton to cover up the email “scandal” with the corpses of the two journalists who were murdered on live television yesterday, because… well, just because:

“I hate to tell the truth, but I’m going to tell the truth. I’m going to say it on the air. The timing of this was suspect at best. When they knew that cable news networks would be 24/7 on a horrible news story. come on, you know it was planned to be dropped this way. This is how campaigns think.”
Well, he got one thing right, Joe Scarborough really does hate to tell the truth. After that, it’s nonsense because, as Mark Halperin pointed out, Hillary didn’t “drop” even a milligram of new information or admission. I’d like to give Halperin more credit here, but the appropriate response here is “Are you an insane person?” not “I disagree with you about the timing.”

But as Halperin also pointed out, the idea was for Clinton to evince a more serious attitude toward the story in an effort to move beyond the email issue, the entire point of which would be to let people know that she is taking a more serious and sober attitude toward the email issue. Scarborough is essentially accusing the Democratic candidate of trying to use the murders to distract people from the thing she really wants them to know, and/or things she has already said many times. It’s the answer to the question “Could God create a take so hot, it would burn Him?”

Beyond being really stupid, though, this is the kind of sick thinking you’d expect to find in the recesses of Alex Jones‘ comments section, not on the air of a major cable news network. This is the show that’s on every television in Washington, D.C., every morning, and its host just accused Hillary Clinton of political necrophilia. Scarborough should apologize, at the very least." [Source]

He won't because he doesn't have to.  Americans,  no matter how "educated",  do not have the ability to differentiate between logical thought and over the top hyperbole for the sake of ratings or a sound bite lead.

So this too shall pass, and the Clinton legend, thanks to people like Joe Scarborough, will continue to grow. This might not rise to the level of the Vince Foster suicide to the black helicopter crowd, but it certainly adds to the narrative.

The irony of a guy like Joe Scarborough going into these dark places is that he has some alleged skeletons hiding in that closet of his as well.

"That state of affairs came to a screeching halt in July of 2010, when Moulitsas found himself summarily blacklisted from MSNBC. His offense? Mentioning, on Twitter, the strange, sad story of Lori Klausutis, the intern who was found dead in Joe Scarborough’s office when the “Morning Joe” host was still a Republican congressman.

Here’s their exchange:

Markos: Like story of a certain dead intern. RT @JoeNBC: Luckily for the White House, the media has been negligent on this story since Day 1.
Markos: But if you want to talk about bullshit “scandals”, @JoeNBC, there’s this one about Joe Sestak and the White House you might’ve heard of.
JoeNBC: @markos Unbelievable. You have a long history of spreading lies suggesting I am a murderer. This is the 3rd or 4th time by my count.
Markos: @JoeNBC, I’ve never suggested you’re a murderer. I’ve noted media hypocrisy in going after Gary Condit. But he was Dem. You aren’t.
JoeNBC: Anyone in media who interviews @markos, know that you’re extending your credibility to someone who regularly suggests that I’m a murderer.
Markos: A bit touchy, @JoeNBC? Links for where I accuse you of being a murderer please.
After this happened, MSNBC president Phil Griffin wrote to Moulitsas to say that he was banned from the network. It was one of the more bizarre pieces of cable news weirdness in history. It was also one in a long line of mini-wars Joe Scarborough has waged in an effort to stop getting people to insinuate that he killed his intern." [Source]

I guess those "rumors" and innuendos can go both ways.

Refreshing the tree of liberty.

I have to talk about this shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, because I am quite sure that outside of social media and blogs such as this one you will not hear any serious commentary about it.

It comes on the heels of a shooting in Atlanta where another one of these nut- jobs wanted to show us that "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."  Anyway, once again these domestic terrorists are showing us why we should be just as afraid of them as we are of those evil Mooslims.

These two individuals hated their government and authority. (Sound familiar?) And according to their neighbors ---and their Facebook page--- they were supporters of tax cheat, Cliven Bundy, as well.

We should get used to it, because I suspect that there is going to be a lot more of this type of deranged behavior coming from certain types of people in American society.

You can only foam at the mouth for so long over your computer keys, and shoot beer cans in your backyard before you want to act out on the hate that has been building up for years from listening to white right wing hate radio, and conspiracy nuts like Glen Beck and Alex Jones. (BTW, Alex believes that this shooting was set up as a "false flag" operation by the evil government. Ok then,  Alex.)

But Field, what about all the killings in Chicago over the weekend? Why aren't you blogging about that?

Well, for starters, I don't believe that any of those gang- bangers shot two police officers to death. Or, for that matter, that they ran into a huge box- store and shot an innocent person to death just for the heck of it.

Killings in urban America are horrible, and something must be done about them. But these killings are fueled by gang alliances and conflicts, as well as the urban drug trade which thrives due to lack of employment and a stable family environment for these knuckle heads.

But I am not afraid of these urban street gangs rising up and trying to overthrow our government anytime soon. The white supremacy and sovereign movement on the other hand give me cause for pause.

"The newspaper's report also said the shooters covered the officers' bodies with something featuring the Revolutionary War-era Gadsden flag. The yellow flag, which contains an image of a coiled snake and the words "Don't tread on me," is associated with the conservative Tea Party political movement."

A flag like this one ? Oh yes, I have definitely seen that before.
