Guess who won't be coming to dinner.

I see the republi-clowns have their swag back. They basically told O to take his little kumbaya summit and shove it. We will meet with you on our time nigg...I mean Mr. President. We shellacked you, remember? Rather than sit down with O, their leaders met with those federalist society folks. How is that bi-partisan thing working out for ya? I say it's time to double down O, you can only play nice for so long. This is getting old. It seems like every few months the field has to tell you the same thing, but you won't learn. You still believe that these folks will play ball with your beige behind. News flash! It. Is. Never. Going. To. Happen.

"Thursday’s much-anticipated meeting until after Thanksgiving to accommodate their schedule, not his. The first post-election meeting between Obama and congressional leaders, billed by Obama as the fundamental first step in the post-election reconciliation process, will now take place Nov. 30 .."

Don't hold your breath for that November 30th meeting. Repubs are full of themselves right about now, they are not in a mood to sit down and talk. The leader of their own version of Der Angriff, all but called O a Socialist. And, these folks are so emboldened, one of their senators is holding up the START Treaty with the Russians to score cheap political points. Senator Kyl, Mr. Ahmadinejad thanks you. Dope!

But enough about the O haters; tonight I want to thank the folks over at WPHT here in my hometown for dumping Glenn Beckkk and the fat fat drug addict from their programing lineup. Philly has enough trash, we don't need these two adding to the problem. Now let's hope that other stations in A-merry-ca start wising up as well.

And finally, was it just me or was that display by Charlie Rangel today seem beyond pathetic?
And the way he dragged John Lewis out there to defend his actions. *shaking head*
Sorry Charlie, I agree with the ethics committee and their recommendation on this one. You deserved what you got.

Still, it was hard watching that republi-clown senator from Alabama (of all places) grand- standing (pun intended with that "grand" word) while poor Charlie begged for mercy. I agree with everything Steve Kornacki wrote in Salon.com:

"As noted above, by the time Bonner spoke, Rangel had already been found guilty and it was already clear what his punishment would -- and wouldn't -- be. So it has to be asked: Why was Bonner so intent on rubbing it in? Certainly, simple partisan politics -- highlighting the ethical lapses of a prominent member of the other party -- had something to do with it. But it's also worth considering how the spectacle of their congressman lashing out at Rangel -- who in some ways is the face of black urban politics in America -- is likely to play with Bonner's constituents back home.

This is where things get a little troubling, because Bonner's 1st District was ground zero for the South's race-based transformation from Democratic stronghold to Republican bastion. I wrote about this evolution -- which was largely set in motion by the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 -- earlier this week. The South had been a uniformly Democratic region since Reconstruction, but the GOP's decision to nominate Barry Goldwater, who had joined segregationist Southern Democrats in their futile effort to block the Civil Rights law, prompted mass defections to the GOP in the fall of '64. Even as Goldwater racked up just 38 percent of the national popular vote, he carried five Southern states -- some by absurd margins (87 percent in Mississippi).."
[Article]

See what you did, Charlie? You allowed Mr. Bonner to put you in your place, once again. He said he was born in Selma, and he was glad you and those other Northern Negroes came down and marched with Dr. King. Don't believe it. He has been waiting for this day for a very long time.

"Sadly, Madam Chairman,"...it is my unwavering view that the actions, decisions and behavior of our colleague from New York can no longer reflect either honor or integrity."

Oh just STFU!

That ain't "Flipper".

I was really torn about what to blog about tonight. I didn't know if I should blog about you black folks getting upset because a white sorority won a step show. (And, from what I could see, they deserved it.) Why? If they out stepped your asses they deserved to win. (h/t to Hawa) Then, of course, there is all the political theater going on up in Zoo Yawk. (Mr. Rangel, blaming your ethics problems on your staff is house Negro behavior) Not to mention down in D.C., where a certain secretary is heading out the door. (I guess girlfriend never recovered from the gate crashers fiasco.) Still, I decided that tonight I don't want to blog about any of that. Nope, tonight I want to blog about animals.

Now you all know how I feel about some of you people and your pets. I have some serious issues with how some of us humans choose to exercise our position of power in the pecking order when it comes to living things here on earth.

I am cool with eating animals, and using them for our benefit. Hey, we are smarter than they are (some of us) so they are just SOL when it comes to certain things. Certain things. Because there are times when they do their best to upset the order of things. Like the recent chimp attack that took place in Stamford, Ct. (Why someone would have a pet chimp is beyond me.) And, of course, the latest incident down in Sea World comes to mind. I mean here we have a killer whale being trained for our entertainment, and the big fella just saying enough and treating his trainer like...well.. his meal.

Folks, this is a big deal, and the folks down at Sea World have been taking some heat for the way that they treat their animals. I mean even the whale is talking.

One thing we do know is that Sea World won't stop training their whales for our entertainment, because there is just too much at stake: A brand; money; jobs. Hell the killer whale won't even do any time for his actions. He is still with Sea World, and will probably be coming to a pool near you for more shows very soon.

"SeaWorld Orlando also said it intends to continue using in its performances Tilikum, the 6-ton orca that pulled veteran trainer Dawn Brancheau to her death on Wednesday, though the animal will not be used Saturday."He's been a part of our team and he will remain a part of our team," SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment President Jim Atchison told reporters during an afternoon news conference at the Orlando theme park"

Yep, Tilikum will be coming back, but Dawn will not. Tilikum made sure of that.

We never trusted them.

The irony of the latest little racial problem in A-merry-ca is rich. Here we have the first black man running for the highest office in the land with a legitimate chance of winning. And not only has he predicated his entire campaign on being race neutral, but he has built his entire movement around a future in A-merry-ca where everyone looks past race and show nothing but love for each other. But then, to get to that office, he has to beat the first woman candidate with a legitimate shot at winning the highest office in the land, a woman who will stop at nothing to achieve her goal. And here is the irony; she has actually used race to attempt to derail the race neutral man's campaign.

People always accuse me of being a "racialist" (like that's a bad thing). In fact, my white friends (yes I have some) will tell you that me being a "racialist" is why we get along as well as we do. They know where I stand on issues of race. There is no hypocrisy, no hidden agenda, and no bullshitting with each other. They take me as I am, and I do the same with them. We know that in order to be able to communicate with each other and to develop any type of relationship, the racial component of our relationship has to be dealt with honestly. Straight no chaser.

Unfortunately for the Clintons it doesn't look like they ever developed that type of trust and goodwill from us black folks. Oh I know the conventional wisdom was that they did, and that Bill was the first black Prez. But now we are seeing that it's not true. That was never the case, it was just another phony racial front; one of many that we put up with when we deal with each other here in A-merry-ca for the sake of just getting along. If there was that goodwill, and if the Clintons had it like that, we wouldn't be experiencing the democratic version of "Ali Frazier Two" right now. Black folks wouldn't be so offended when other black folks come out on behalf of the Clintons. Black folks would have given the Clintons the benefit of the doubt when all of this was going on. Instead, like that old PE song says; we just "can't truss it".

But black folks we know that we never trusted the Clintons all along. We just pretty much tolerated them because our natural enemies in the white supremest party hated them so much. What's that saying? "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? It was a friendship of convenience if you will. But now it looks like that friendship is over. Don't listen to the high profile black folks coming out in their defense, listen to the man on the street. Listen to black folks talking at the water cooler at the offices. Listen to what we are saying amongst each other if you really want to know what's going on. (Sorry white people, I know some of you can't listen because you don't know any black folks like that. But just take my word for it on this one, you will have to just trust the field)

Today I saw Sheila Jackson Lee, and Charlie Rangel coming out for lady Hillary. She is not a racist, Hillary is committed to civil rights.... and on and on. That might or it might not be true. But the problem for lady Hillary is that the people who seemed to have been her most loyal supporters all along, never really trusted her in the first place.
