Support in blue and white.

"We are all Darren Wilson". That's what the pro Darren Wilson supporters are saying as they show their support for the murderer police officer in Ferguson.

Well, with all due respect, we are not "all' Darren Wilson. If we were we would be in big trouble.

"We" don't all go around killing unarmed teenagers, and we all do our jobs the way that we were trained to do it.

Still, this is America, and the folks who support Officer Wilson have every right to come out and let their race flag fly. As long, of course, as they do it peacefully.

"The woman, wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap and eye black, said the news media has “shown a strong bias” against Wilson and his supporters. “Many of us have received death threats against ourselves and our families,” she said. “Contrary to media suggestions we are not affiliated with any hate groups.”
She added: “We will not hide, we will no longer live in fear.”'

"Eye black" and "sunglasses"; that sure sounds like someone who is hiding who she is to me. I don't believe the "death threats" story, though. Most of these people are too anonymous for the people making death threats to even know who they are.

As was the case with George Zimmerman, the killer of a young black man is getting a lot of support. ($250,000 for a few minutes work. Only in America.) Much of it from people who are glad that another young black man was taken out of society. In truth, many of them wish that they could have done it themselves.

"We are here to support you, Officer Wilson, and we've got your back..."He has been vilified in the news but his story is coming out." [Source]

I am not sure if he has been "vilified"; she needs to watch more FOX VIEWS.

But as she says, his story (or his version of it) is coming out, and ultimately, just like  George Zimmerman, he might just have the last laugh.

Photo - Trooper Sheldon Robinson, 45, is a 16-year veteran of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. PHOTO PROVIDED <strong>PROVIDED</strong>"But Field Negro, what about Sheldon Robinson? Is he getting the last laugh? He is a black man in law enforcement who shot a non-black man to death; that wasn't right, Field."

Officer Robinson was fired , even though he claimed that he was confronted by two armed men. Operative word being armed. But for those of you who don't believe his story, I can't say that you are wrong for thinking the way that you do.

The folks in law enforcement-- black and white--- have not had a good track record of late.

We will wait to see what happens with Officer Wilson.

"This is not your country"; even if you are the "Jeopardy" champion.

I can relate to Arthur Chu's experience as it relates to his father.

My father was also working on his post graduate degrees in America in the late sixties, and he too would tell us stories about some of the awful things that he experienced while trying to navigate the racial climate at the time.

Unlike Mr. Chu's dad, though, after he got his degrees my father went back to his beloved Jamaica and never left. As he liked to say when citizens of a certain class were fleeing the island and taking their wealth with them; "I will turn the lights out."

But I digress.

Chu wrote an excellent article for The Daily Beast that is cut and paste worthy, and I would like to share it with you.

"I wrote the piece below in a late-night frenzy on July 13, 2013, after receiving a notification on my phone that George Zimmerman had been acquitted of the murder of Trayvon Martin. I had left a party early, brooding about why I felt so strongly about something that, ostensibly, had “nothing to do with me.”
I had originally kept this as a friends-only post on Facebook, because of the justifiable fear that writing angry tearful screeds about how mad you are at America might be harmful for my career.

As it was, the tweets that I sent out about how depressed I was after the Trayvon Martin shooting got dug up several months later by some National Enquirer intern looking for dirt on the recent Jeopardy! celebrity, and I got to see a blurb in the Enquirer asking, “Does Jeopardy champ Arthur Chu hate America?”

So for a while I was paranoid about ever letting anyone see this again. But then another late-night frenzy piece I wrote in response to the Isla Vista shootings took off, and I thought maybe sharing this wouldn’t be so bad an idea.
The one sticking point was, of course, that my D-list viral celebrity as a Jeopardy! champ and all that followed came a year after George Zimmerman’s acquittal and the whole issue of white guys shooting minorities dead and getting away with it was, as we say in the journalism business, “stale.”

But I remember a dark, cynical voice in my mind thinking, “Don’t worry. The issue may be stale now, but just give it a few months and it’ll be in the headlines again. Have faith. This is America.”

What do you know, I was right.
***
When my father first came to this country as a graduate student, there was an incident where he and a friend were walking home and were suddenly confronted in a parking lot by a group of apparently intoxicated students in a car, driving around them in circles, shouting threats and racist catcalls.

My father’s friend counseled him to ignore it, to wait for them to get their jollies and leave, that this is just the kind of thing that happens once in a while.
My father waited, and they didn’t leave, and then my father picked up a rock and said, “I’m counting to thirty and if they’re not gone by then this rock is going through their windshield.”

Luckily, they tired of the sport and peeled off around when my dad hit fifteen. It’s good for me that they did—had the rock gone through the windshield, had glass flown in a thousand bright shards across the asphalt, had the driver slumped over, bleeding, and the car doors swung open and his friends stormed out filled with anger, had police been called and charges been filed—well, I probably wouldn’t be here.

If by chance one of those students had been a Zimmerman, carrying a firearm for “self-defense” against “violent criminals” armed with rocks, I very definitely would not be here.

There was a moral to this story when my father told it to me, a moral that I hated more than any of the other morals that came attached to his other anecdotes.

It was a moral that explained many things. It explained, for instance, why he never went to parent-teacher association events, never integrated himself into “the community.” Why he consistently obeyed Rule #1, a rule that my friends’ white suburban parents had never considered—a rule I would not hear from others until I actually met people who’d grown up urban and poor when I got older—Never Talk to the Cops. (In the Bill of Rights it’s actually Rule #5.)
Why he urged me to choose a career specialization based on objective assessment of skills and achievements, one where success was quantifiable, one whose practitioners were organizationally indispensable. To take an “Asian” job like engineer, scientist, programmer. One where there was little room for subjectivity, where the personal impression of the interviewer counted less. To stay away most of all from fields where I would be judged purely based on how well people could relate to me, like direct sales, like middle management, like the performing arts.

To never, ever, ever put my livelihood in a position where I depended on white people liking me.

Because it was a lesson he learned the night that some random drunkards decided that terrorizing two pedestrians in a car, swerving toward them again and again, would be fun—would have no legal consequences because the cops wouldn’t care, would have no moral consequences because the victims didn’t matter.

A lesson he learned every time he was pulled over for a speeding ticket, or pulled aside by the store detective and asked to turn out his pockets, or quietly scoffed at and eyerolled at by a customer service rep for his accent.
That lesson was:

This Is Not Your Country.

You can live here. You can make friends. You can try to live by the law and be a decent citizen and even maybe make a lot of money.

But you will never, ever belong. You will never, ever be one of them. And you must never, ever trust them.

I resisted this lesson. I fought back. I worked for hours to give myself a generic Midwestern broadcaster’s accent—I became a voiceover artist because the way I have trained myself to speak is a “radio voice.” I fell in love with the English language, I developed a vocabulary of nearly a hundred thousand English words, I devoured American culture both high and low, Mark Twain and Eugene O'Neill and Flannery O'Connor and Jerry Seinfeld and Tupac and Public Enemy and the Beach Boys and Buddy Holly and Madonna and Ella Fitzgerald and Weird Al and Bill Hicks and George Carlin and Martin Scorsese and John Waters and John Philip Sousa and Aaron Copland and George Lucas and Beverly Cleary and Matt Groening and on and on and on, all of it, everything I could find, every TV show, every radio station, every book in the library.

History, literature, politics. Fast food and junk food and pop culture trivia and song lyrics and idiomatic colloquialisms of the South, the Northeast, the Midwest. I binged on America, I stuffed myself so full of America I was bursting at the seams with America.

I swallowed it all. As much as I could. I swallowed things that tasted foul and struggled to keep them down, but I did the best I could, to prove I could, to prove that I could swallow anything. I stomached the Chinese Exclusion Acts and the Riots of 1871. The gold miners and the borax miners and the railroad workers. I held my nose and I ate Jack London and the Yellow Peril and the coming war with China. I swallowed H.S. Tsien's deportation and Cold War paranoia and Joe McCarthy and the Yellow Peril and the coming war with China.

I choked down Wen Ho Lee’s arrest and Vincent Chin’s murder and Iris Chang’s suicide and Andrew Breitbart and the Yellow Peril and the coming war with China.

My friends were white. The girls I dated were white. I laughed at the racist jokes and invoked hipster irony to make them myself. I steeled my muscles and kept inside all the shit I’d swallowed, told me it was another time, another place, just another one of my dad’s stupid stories. I took history instead of CS or EE in college. To hell with my dad’s misgivings, I set out to be an actor, a performer, to live or die by whether I could get the audience to like me.

Because none of that was real. That was all in another world.

The historical atrocities and the daily microaggressions. Kids who screamed “Chinese Pig!” and adults who asked in an exasperated tone “I mean where are you from originally?” John McCain and the gooks he could never forgive. Making it to callbacks three times in a row only to never be the “fit” they were looking for. Being complimented on my English. Being criticized on my English. The tingle of nerves bristling at standing next in line to a FOB with a thick accent and a bad haircut, the desire to scream “I’m not with him! We’re not related!”

Sum Ting Wong and Ho Lee Fuk. Dick jokes. Accent jokes. Chinese restaurant jokes. The mute Chinese nerd in the background of the movie. The Chinese lead character being played by a white guy in makeup.

Waking up every day knowing that all of it—the broadcaster accent, the memorized cultural references and song lyrics—isn’t fooling anybody. Your face gives you away. The way you overenunciate certain consonants. The foods that don’t make you retch and the foods that do. The sound of your parents’ voice on the phone.

The way it simply matters more when a pretty white girl goes missing than when an Asian man goes missing and is later found dead. The way academics still publish papers on whether you possess the necessary mental apparatus to function in a civil democracy.

The way a grad student is willing to hurl a rock through a car windshield—and throw away his entire future with it—because he knows in that moment that he has no other options, that if he is found run over and dead the next morning the cops won’t really care.

The way a terrified black teenager might lunge at a racist vigilante because he knows there’s no good way out of this and it’s better to die fighting than to be shot in the back.

The way a crowd of people who have had their total and utter helplessness before the law rubbed into their face by the media over and over again might pick up rocks, sticks, knives and break anything they can, because while mindless vengeance is not justice—is far inferior to justice—it is still more than nothing, which, when they try to stand up and peacefully demand justice, is what they always receive.

The way a grim-faced storeowner might pick up an assault rifle and begin firing into that selfsame aggrieved, desperate crowd because he knows no one is coming, no one will help, no justice will be served—the men whose blood the crowd wants are safely ensconced in police protection in the suburbs miles away and they, like the Jewish bailiffs in feudal Russia in the time of the pogroms, will be left to soak up the rage of the masses. They fire round after round in “self-defense” without thought of justice because for them justice does not exist.

They live in a world different from your world, gentle white reader. The one you take for granted, where you can pick up the phone and someone on the other end will listen, a cop or a lawyer or a congressman. They live in Trayvon Martin’s world, in my father’s world, in the world that under all the assimilation and the “model minority” bullshit I live in, despite all my best efforts, despite all my father’s warnings.

But even that is a facile evasion, isn’t it? Calling it two worlds. It’s really only one world, only one country, only one United States of America. There’s one place, one culture, one system.

We all live here. We all make friends here, eat the food, watch the movies, maybe even make money.

It’s just some people belong here, and others don’t.

I can pretend to belong here better than Trayvon was ever given the chance to. The white racist looks at me and sees a stolen job or the slow decline of national prominence, but he doesn’t see a rapist, a thug, a barbarian at the gate. I fear being snubbed and sometimes spat on but rarely shot. And that is a very important difference.

But it is still not my country. However hard I try, however well they treat me, however much we all smile at each other and however much people praise the "model minority" I am, I know it is not.

Because it’s also the country whose government had to be pressured into taking an interest in the murder of a young man simply because of the color of his skin. A country that produced a jury that let that murderer walk free. And a country whose most self-proclaimedly patriotic citizens were whooping and hooting and setting off fireworks the night that man went free, right in the midst of the shock and grief and sorrow of those still mourning.

And I am done making excuses for this country, to say that “America” isn’t like that despite what the American government is like, despite what American history is like, despite what even now an overwhelming number of the American people are openly and proudly like. I am dead tired of pretending that countless examples are all exceptions, that to see a pattern where a pattern clearly exists is to be a “reverse racist” and “paranoid” and all the things I have accused my father of being.

I am sick and tired of reassuring myself that if their smiling faces can rejoice at the murderer’s freedom simply because the victim didn’t belong here, that I have any hope of belonging here either.

I am not an American. This is not my country. I have no country other than a China I barely know and do not love. Trayvon had no country other than the vanished West African kingdoms of centuries ago, replaced by post-colonial polities that know nothing of and care nothing for their long-lost sons and daughters of the Middle Passage.

It is not a good feeling, to be homeless. I wish it were not so. I continue to live here, work here, pay the taxes and obey the law. I even intend to spend my life here fighting to the end of my days in whatever small way I can to make this benighted country less of a failure at living up to its ideals. I like the food, I love the music, and in some broken, painful, tragic way I even love America itself, the way a victim of abuse might be unwilling to surrender his love for his abuser because to do so would be to surrender the last of his illusion of dignity and agency.

But of this, no more illusions. I am sorry, father. You were right.
This is not my country.

It never was." {Source}

Sorry Claudius, you ain't no George Zimmerman.

Claudius Smith, 32, (left) was charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Ricardo Sanes in MetroWest on Jan. 16, police said.Unfortunately the people of Florida are starting to realize that when you have bad laws you get bad results.

The latest high profile "stand your ground" case from that wacky state should be quite interesting.

In this particular case, unlike the case of Trayvon Martin,  both the shooter and the victim were people of color.

Most of the Zimmerman supporters will not give the shooter in this case the benefit of the doubt, because this shooter is not a white [Hispanic] neighborhood watch guy, who shot some "young black punk" in self -defense.

And then there is the flip side: The same people, who called for an arrest and thorough investigation of George Zimmerman, should be asking that the same level of scrutiny be placed on Claudius Smith.

"The gunman accused of chasing and killing a 21-year-old man at a west Orlando apartment complex on Thursday told police he was pursuing a suspected burglar and acted in self-defense after he was attacked.

A police account of the shooter's self-defense claim obtained by the Orlando Sentinel suggests this could be the latest local homicide in which the state's controversial "stand your ground" law becomes a factor.

Police were called to the shooting just before noon Thursday at the Fountains at MetroWest apartments. They arrived to find 21-year-old Ricardo Sanes dead in the grass, surrounded by six .45-caliber shell casings.

The alleged shooter, 32-year-old Claudius Smith, was caught later Thursday. Smith told detectives that he had shot someone "in self defense," according to a police report.

Smith said he was inside his house on Carter Street when his girlfriend, looking at a outdoor surveillance monitor, spotted someone in dark clothing "walking around his yard," who "was last seen climbing over the fence into" the apartment complex.

Smith told police he had been having "a recent problem with burglaries at his house ... and he was certain the unknown male was responsible," a police account states, so he "began chasing the unknown male."

According to police, Smith admitted jumping the fence into the apartment complex, armed with a .45-caliber handgun, where he said he saw Sanes "looking into windows of apartments as he walked past them."

Smith admitted pulling his gun and confronting Sanes, and when Sanes tried to walk away, Smith said he grabbed Sanes' hooded sweatshirt and tried to force Sanes back to his house "so the police could be called."

Smith told police Sanes "punched him in the mouth and grabbed for his gun."
"[Smith's] immediate response was to pull the trigger and fire shots at [Sanes],"   [Source]

I bet that if he is arrested Claudius Smith will not be getting thousands of dollars from supporters all over the country to pay for his legal defense.

Stay tuned.

George's latest adventure, and the blind leading the blind in Iowa.

It looks like our friend George Killerman has some splaining to do to  the po po once again.

Someone should explain to George that nothing compares to the fury of a woman scorned. Not hell, not the parents of Trayvon Martin, not the NAACP; nothing.

"Police in Lake Mary, Fla., say they are holding George Zimmerman in "investigative detention" after a 911 call from his estranged wife who reported that he punched her father in the nose and threatened them both with a gun.

Police said Zimmerman is cooperating but has not talked with investigators.
In an audio recording of Shellie Zimmerman's 911 call to police, she reported that Zimmerman had smashed an iPad she was holding and cut it with a pocket knife, struck her father in the nose and threatened both while putting a hand on a gun.

"I'm really scared,'' Shellie Zimmerman can be heard repeating during the call.
Deputy police chief Colin Morgan says Zimmerman, who was acquitted in the shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin in a case that put a spotlight on Florida's self-defense gun laws, is being held in handcuffs.
Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce last week." [Source]

Careful George, killing a little Negro boy isn't the same as hurting a white woman. Those right wingnuts and NRA supporters who had your back for killing that little "thug" Negro will run away from you quicker than Usain Bolt from the starting blocks.

I am convinced now more than ever that karma (not the good kind) will pay George a visit really soon. It's just a matter of time. And, when it does, I hope that the parents of Trayvon Martin will be around to see it.

"I'm really scared.'' "Shellie, at least you are alive.

Finally, speaking of the NRA, I am sure that organization is very much involved in the debate now taking place out in Iowa.

In case you folks didn't hear, in the state of Iowa it is now being debated whether to issue a gun permit to a blind person.

Actually, in Iowa, a blind person can get a gun permit.

"Iowa law enforcement officials are debating the wisdom of granting gun permits to blind people.

The Des Moines Register reports ( http://dmreg.co/15O9I83 ) that Iowa law doesn't allow sheriffs to deny a permit to carry a gun in public based on physical ability.

Some sheriffs have been granting gun permits to people with visual impairments while others have been denying them. Blind people and other Iowans can obtain the permits for carrying a weapon in public because of changes to state law that took effect in 2011.

Jane Hudson with Disability Rights Iowa said keeping legally blind people from obtaining weapon permits would violate the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Some other states, including Nebraska, require anyone applying for a gun permit to provide proof of their visual ability by supplying a driver's license or doctor's statement.

Hudson said she thinks someone could successfully challenge Nebraska's vision restriction because federal law requires states to analyze a situation individually before denying a service.

"The fact that you can't drive a car doesn't mean you can't go to a shooting range and see a target," Hudson said.

Polk County officials said they have issued weapons permits to people who can't drive legally because of vision problems at least three times. Sheriffs in Jasper, Kossuth and Delaware counties say they've also granted permits to Iowans with severe visual impairments.

"It seems a little strange, but the way the law reads, we can't deny them (a permit) just based on that one thing," said Sgt. Jana Abens, a spokeswoman for the Polk County sheriff's office, referring to a visual disability.

It's not clear how many people with visual impairments have permits to carry weapons in Iowa because no one collects that information." '[Source]

Sergeant, if that "one thing" happens to be the fact that they can't see, I think it would be a good idea to deny them a permit. Just a thought.

I bet even Stevie Wonder would agree.

George goes gun shopping, and there is a new town in North Dakota.

You Negroes in Florida better stay in your houses for the next few days. George Zimmerman just went gun shopping and he is getting his hands on an even more deadly killing machine than the one he used to kill young Trayvon Martin.

"George Zimmerman who is already packing a pistol, toured a gun maker's factory this week and asked whether he could buy a shotgun.

Zimmerman, acquitted a month ago of killing teenager Trayvon Martin with a Kel-Tec 9 mm pistol, toured the Kel-Tec plant on Thursday in Cocoa, Fla. The plant is about an hour's drive from Sanford, the community where Martin was killed.

Zimmerman, 29, took a tour of the assembly plant and asked about the legality of buying a shotgun and smiled in a photograph with an employee, according to TMZ, which first reported the visit.

Representatives for Kel-Tec were not immediately available for comment, but the Kel-Tec web site says weapons are not sold at the plant. The site also states that they do not give tours, but that "Special arrangements can sometimes be made for Military, Law enforcement, or Educational purposes only." [Source]

Remember when his lawyer said that George would have to go in hiding and is in fear of his life? Well I hate to say this about a fellow officer of the court, but he lied.

Still, if George wants to just get away from it all and hang out with some like minded people, he might want to head to a little town called Cobsville. I  hear it's nice up there this time of year.

"A neo-Nazi activist has made public his plans to take over a small North Dakota town and turn it into a paradise for white supremacists seeking refuge from “Mexican illegal invaders” and “leftist journalists.”

According to the Hatewatch blog, a 61-year-old man named Craig Cobb has bought plots of land in Leith, N.D., a town of only 19 residents (only one of whom is black). Upon moving into the town, Cobb has invited other like-minded people to move in with him and help turn the town into a white supremacist haven he would like to name “Cobbsville.”

“I didn’t have a clue who the guy was until he showed up,” Leith’s current mayor Ryan Schock told the blog. “All I know is he bought that house sight unseen, $5,000 cash, and had no idea what it looked like, where it was, other than he knew the directions to get to Leith.”

Cobb wrote last year that anyone who moves onto his Leith property would be “required” to fly a “racialist banner,” such as the Nazi flag, at all times. He also asks that any new residents “import more responsible radical hard core [white nationalists]” and register to vote in the state so they can change local politics.
“Imagine strolling over to your neighbors to discuss world politics with nearly all like-minded volk,” he wrote. “Imagine the international publicity and usefulness to our cause! For starters, we could declare a Mexican illegal invaders and Israeli Mossad/IDF spies no-go zone. If leftist journalists or antis come and try to make trouble, they just might break one of our local ordinances and would have to be arrested by our town constable.”

To that end, Cobb has constructed a concrete prison, where he would like to lock up “recalcitrant journalists and lefty commies who violate the codes or peace of the community.”  [Source]

I bet they don't even have a Starbucks.

Finally, if you are heading to D.C. for the big march tomorrow, remember to wear some comfortable shoes.

This victim will be treated like a victim.

It's a real tragedy what happened to that Chris Lane fellow, but as an Australian, why was he even in this country on a  baseball scholarship? Don't they play cricket in Australia? And why was he out jogging by himself? Where was his girlfriend? And how do we know that he was just out jogging and not trying to score some drugs....

If you are reading this and thinking to yourself that Field Negro is out of his mind and how dare he disparage the victim of this tragedy in such a contumelious manner, you probably understand how those of us who wanted George Zimmerman tried and convicted for the murder of Trayvon Martin felt.

Chris Lane, like Trayvon Martin, is dead. Two young men cut down in the prime of their lives. Lane was killed because a bunch of thugs; one black, one Hispanic, and one white (sorry FOX News, one of his killers was white) decided that they were "bored" and it would be cool to just bang a random stranger.
Martin died because some dude decided that he didn't belong in his neighborhood.

The difference is that Chris Lane's killers will never see the light of day ever again, or, if they do, they will be too old to enjoy it. Martin's killer, on the other hand, is a free man who is basking in the glow of his celebrity status among those who believe that he did us all a favor by killing Trayvon Martin.

Martin was portrayed as the bad actor, and every negative thing in his background was highlighted over and over again by the media. His killer's sordid past was kept under wraps, and only those of us who took the time to go outside of the main stream-- news media-- bubble (thank you Mr. Capehart) were able to find out about all the skeletons in George Zimmerman's closet.

I am sure that Chris Lane was a nice guy, and I am just as sure that we will be hearing what a nice guy he was over and over again for the next few days.

That's fine with me. He was the victim here, and he deserves to be treated as such.

I just wish that another young man could have been treated the same way.

Sorry John, you might not be as lucky as George Zimmerman.

There are a couple of differences between John Henry Spooner and George Zimmerman. The first, of course, is their age. The second is where they happen to live.

Unfortunately for John Henry Spooner, he lives in Wisconsin. Fortunately for George Zimmerman, he resides in Florida. A state full of conservative backwards thinking legislatures who pass laws out of fear and not common sense. Laws that embolden men who look like they do to act in unspeakable ways.

Because of those barbarous and fatuous people, Mr. Zimmerman is free, Mr. Henry, on the other hand, might not be so lucky.

There are similarities between these men as well. The most glaring is that they  both have been stained by prejudice, and their prejudices led them to act in ways that took the lives of two young men.

"John Henry Spooner, now 76, is shown at left in his mugshot following the May 31, 2012, shooting. At right, Patricia Larry holds a photo of 13-year-old Darius Simmons, who police say was shot and killed by Spooner.

A trial for a 76-year-old man accused of shooting to death his 13-year-old neighbor in front of his mother in Milwaukee is set to begin this week in a polarizing case that some say was misplaced vigilante justice." [Source]

Read more:

John Henry is 76, he no doubt remembers the days when you could kill a "Nigger" and walk free. The jury of your peers would always make sure of it.
But times have changed. You just can't do that anymore. This is unless, of course, you happen to live in Florida.

When "white privilege" goes wrong.

I swear some of you white folks can't handle your "white privilege".

Take poor Taylor Chapman (that name screams privilege) down in Florida.

Girlfriend had to endure the inconvenience of not getting her receipt with her meal at Dunkin Donuts (you read that right; not Ruth's Chris, Dunkin Donuts), and she let the "sand Niggers" working there have it.

Taylor, I don't think that this is going to work out well for you. If it's one thing we know America doesn't like it's a racist who likes to flaunt their racism. (Publicly)

Anyway, this story might have a happy ending as some good Americans have reached out to the poor workers who had to endure Taylor's abuse.

It's nice to know that good things can still come out of bad acts.

Finally, let me say a few words about the Trayvon Martin murder trial that has just gotten on the way down in Florida.

I called for the arrest of George Killlerman Zimmerman because I thought that there was more than enough evidence to charge and arrest him. But you all might have noticed that I have not written much about the case since his arrest.

This is because I am going to try and leave things in the hands of the judicial system just to see where it leads.

I am curious to see what the jury will look like and how this voir dire process will play out.

I have already seen some interesting developments coming out of the trial, and I am sure that there will be more to come.

Stay tuned.

Finally!

If I may steal a quote from Ice Cube, "Today was a good day". Rush is being taken off the main wingnut radio station here in Philly, and the man who killed Trayvon Martin is finally going to have to face the criminal justice system. Lord knows it took long enough. If the Sanford, Florida police department had shown some guts from the start, we would have never gotten to this point.

So anyway, this tough seasoned republican prosecutor- as well as the vast investigative team at her disposal- found enough evidence to go forward. She says that they launched an "intensive investigation" and they found what many of my wingnut friends were hoping that they would not. Hopefully my right wing friends will now take note. All the so called facts (and evidence) that they say will prove that Mr. Killerman acted in self defense will now have to be proven in a court of law.

Mr. Killerman is being charged with second degree murder. If Florida is like Pennsylvania he still has to go before a judge for preliminary hearing, and he or she will decide if there is enough evidence to go forward. Then there is the little matter of his bail. Maybe his friend Sean can put up some money for him.

The fact that it took so long to get an arrest in this case is a travesty and a real stain on the America justice system. And what some of my friends in the majority population do not understand is that this case was not about racism per se on the part of the killer of this young man. The fact that he had Cuban American roots means nothing. (BTW, hang in there Ozzie. My Cuban American friends ain't like my other brown friends if you get my drift. ) This case was about a police department devaluing the life of a young black man, who sadly laid on a slab in the morgue for days before his parents were even notified of his death. It's about an unarmed child being killed while minding his own business by a citizen, and that citizen remaining free for 45 days while real racists and ideological whores in this country rallied around him only because his victim was black.

I hope Mr. Killerman enjoyed his last supper with Sean Hannity last night. I am sure that throughout the trial the folks over at FOX will try yo help the defense team and that they will try to paint everything that comes out in a light most favorable to the defendant.

"He reached out to me, we spoke on the phone about his case and I agreed not to report on the contents of that conversation," Hannity said. On his radio show Monday, Hannity said he had confirmed that Zimmerman was a mentor to minority children. "Now, if you were racist, I don't think you'd be a mentor to minority children," he said."

*shaking head*

Anyway, I won't be doing victory laps. As others have said, this is not a time to celebrate. A family has lost their son, and the scabs have been peeled off the sore that is A-merry-can racism once again.

Maybe today is not such a good day after all.

Where is George?

If any of you Negroes happen to see George Killerman around, please leave him alone. Remember, he is a free man. He has not been charged with a crime.

Mr. Killerman's lawyers are dropping him, and they swear they don't know where he is.

Well gentlemen, if you want to find someone who shot an unarmed black man to death, you might want to start looking over at FOX NEWS.

Yes folks, it seems that Mr. Killerman has reached out to his FOX friends. Apparently he believes that getting favorable publicity is better than good legal representation. Maybe the folks over at FOX will get him a very expensive lawyer. Apparently they are already raising money for him on their website.

"The two attorneys made a strange case even stranger. The official basis for their withdrawing from the case seemed to be the news that Zimmerman had contacted special prosecutor Angela Corey and offered to come in, and told her he wasn’t represented by counsel, calling Sonner and Uhrig “special advisors.” (Corey said she couldn’t speak to him without counsel.) But their move came the same day Zimmerman revealed a bizarre, flag-bedecked website raising money for his defense that looks like it was designed by the folks at Fox Nation, which the lawyers said they hadn’t been told about.
So an armed man who shot an unarmed teenager and who may be emotionally unstable has stopped talking to his attorneys, but will communicate with a conservative talk show host? Could this case get any weirder?"

Yes, it could.

Finally, let's talk about racism here in A-merry-ca. According to a new poll from Newsweek Magazine, many of you Negroes are not very optimistic about our future when it comes to race. White folks, as usual, don't see a problem. Yes people stereotype you, but that doesn't affect you when you try to buy a home or move up in business. ?????

"At the heart of America’s persistent racial divide is a fundamental disagreement over the frequency and severity of discrimination against African-Americans. When asked, vast majorities—89 percent of blacks and 80 percent of whites—agree that racial stereotyping still occurs in America today. But ask how racial stereotyping actually affects people’s lives, and blacks and whites no longer see eye to eye. Seventy percent of whites, for example, think that blacks have an equal shot at affordable housing; only 35 percent of blacks say the same. Seventy percent of whites believe that the two races receive equal treatment in the job market; a mere 25 percent of blacks concur. And while more than 80 percent of white people say the cops and courts usually or always treat blacks the same as whites, that number doesn’t even clear 50 percent among African-Americans. It’s no wonder, then, that blacks are twice as likely as whites (82 percent versus 38 percent) to say that race played a role in the shooting of Trayvon Martin. They are simply more likely than whites to still see race as a factor in how people are treated, period." [Source]

Michael Medved was saying today that Obama has caused racism to be worse because he promised to be a uniter and racism has actually gotten worse under his watch. That logic is seriously flawed. Yes, racism has gotten worse under Obama, but you can blame the "color aroused" tea party folks and other wingnuts for that. (BTW, racism is not exclusive to the right wingnut) Not him. Obama's presidency just brought out emotions that they couldn't hold in anymore.  Having a real HNIC only made them bitter and angry. And, true to form, they acted on their fears and resentment.

Still, all is not lost in A-merry-ca. Some of you really do get it:

"When I speak publicly about systemic racism and analyze incidents like the Martin killing from that lens, I know that meanings and beliefs about who I am and what compels my actions will be mapped onto me – with or without my approval. To be sure, sometimes they are positive. I’m keenly aware that I’m often privileged to speak critically about race and have my voice and perspectives valued in ways that my friends and colleagues of color can rarely assume. To many, I’m a curiosity – a white person speaking frankly and passionately about race – how about that? And, I’ve been rewarded to be embraced as a sister, friend and ally in the struggle for racial and social justice, freedom and self-determination.

Nonetheless, I know too, there’s a flipside.

I mark myself when I speak critically about Racism. White Supremacy. Whiteness. And yes, White People.

And, I will pay costs for doing so. Certainly, I will pay less of the direct, material costs that people of color pay for their activism; let alone their simply “being non-white” in the world – costs they don’t choose but which have been chosen for them. But at a bare minimum I can count on paying psychic and personal ones." [Source]

Remember Negroes, if you see George just leave him alone. Please follow him, though. We need to know where he is.  Some people might be looking for him soon.

The hoodie did it.

That pic right there is why it's tough to rip his Oness. (I don't care if it's photoshopped.) Yes, he can be too politically wishy washy at times. But just when I started to wonder about his heart he restored my faith in his humanity by coming out and making a statement about the Trayvon Martin case. I mean if you are going to insert yourself into the Skippy Gates and Sandra Fluke cases, you better have something to say about this one.

"If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon".

Well that's true Mr. President, and as a parent of black children it would be very hard for you to divorce yourself from this case. I bet Michelle was giving you an earful every night: Forget Axelrod and your pollsters, so what if you alienate some white voters. If this causes you to lose the election so be it. You will be able to live with yourself for the rest of your life."  O, always listen to your wife.

Anyway, as is to be expected, some folks are not too pleased:

"Newt Gingrich called Obama's remarks about Trayvon Martin "disgraceful" in an interview with Sean Hannity, according to CBS/National Journal.
“It’s not a question of who that young man looked like. Any young American of any ethnic background should be safe, period. We should all be horrified no matter what the ethnic background," Gingrich said. "Is the President suggesting that if it had been a white who had been shot that would be ok because it didn’t look like him?" [Source]

Actually Newt, if he was white he most likely would not have been shot. The truth of the matter is he was shot because he was black.

"It would have been a tragedy if he had been Puerto Rican or Cuban or if he had been white or if he had been Asian-American of if he’d been a Native American. At some point we ought to talk about being Americans."

Newt, that would be nice. But......

"Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Thursday he is willing to go before the NAACP and urge blacks to demand paychecks, not food stamps.
Gingrich told a town hall meeting at a senior center in Plymouth, N.H., that if the NAACP invites him to its annual convention this year, he'd go there and talk about "why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps." [Source]

*mouth open*

Anyway, Newt made his cretinous and moronic statement while giving an interview on FOX NEWS. The same FOX NEWS who hires one Geraldo Rivera. (Is there a "Drop Squad" for Latinos?) Geraldo wants all of us to know that Trayvon Martin was killed because of his hoodie. Yes, the hoodie did it. Not George Zimmerman. Trayvon Martin contributed to his own death by wearing a hoodie. It's the victim's fault.

*shaking head*

Finally, shout out to the LeBrons for stepping up and making a powerful political statement about the Trayvon Martin killing. I rip athletes and celebrities all the time for not involving themselves in social causes, so when they do I have to acknowledge their actions.

I think I am rooting for the Heat to go all the way this season.

Trayvon Martin, a widow's defense, and an uninformed electorate.

I am still waiting to see what the police department in Sanford, Florida does with the Trayvon Martin case. FOURTEEN DAYS and counting. I am glad to see Adora Obi Nweze, President of the Florida State Conference of NAACP Branches, get involved.

Parts of her statement:

"This murder of an unarmed black teen occurred on February 26, 2012 during Black History Month and while Orlando hosted basketball’s finest event-‐the All--‐Star Weekend (February 24–26). The shooting death of young Trayvon was kept under wraps—it went unreported by the media.

It was not until  All Star Weekend was over and with mounting pressure from the family’s attorney that the death
of this young man was released to the public.

One thing is certain: according to public records, the shooter, George Zimmerman, who has confessed, has a violent history, having been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence
in 2005.

It is unheard of for a neighborhood watch volunteer to carry a loaded gun or (as apparently happened here) to reject the clear instructions of police on a 911 call not to continue to follow Trayvon." (h/t to David for this release) [More here]

I just saw the widow of Professor Derrick Bell on the Ed Shultz show, and the woman was the personification of class. It's just  a shame that this woman had to go on national television to defend her late husband's honor because of the belly crawlers  and goons over at FOX NEWS.

So anyway, thanks to to the likes of FOX NEWS, there is this new poll out which should make some of you living in A-merry-ca with an education past the 8th grade consider packing up and moving to Canada.

Public Policy Polling has released information about southern republican voters that show that many southerners still believe that President Barack Obama is a Muslim.  It is no clear from the poll how these people have come to this conclusion.

The information shows that only 14% of Alabama republicans believe that Obama is a Christian, while 45% believe he is a Muslim, and the 12% of Mississippi republicans believe that Obama is a Christian, while 52% of Mississippi republicans believe he is Muslim. [Source]

You will need your passport to travel to Canada.

Finally, I have this theory about the GOP lawmakers waging war on women in A-merry-ca: They are men who, for whatever reason, were not too fond of women in the first place. I suspect that this is a chance to get back at all those women who wouldn't give them the time of day when they were in high school and college. For them, it's payback time.

They couldn't get a vaginal probe then, but they will be damned if they don't get one now.
