The big lie.

I despise the manstream media for so many reasons. One of them being that they hand pick stories to serve their corporate interests.

For instance, why isn't there more reporting on the bombshell revelation that "the war on drugs" was all a lie, and that the ulterior motive of our government at the time was to push drugs into the black neighborhoods in order to destroy the social fabric of our community?

I would like to thank former Nixon aide, John D. Ehrlichman, for confirming what most of us black folks knew all along: That it was all a big scam. And it now makes stories like this one about Reagan and his band of merry men, seem all the more credible.

"An eye-opening remark from a former aide to President Richard Nixon pulls back the curtain on the true motivation of the United States’ war on drugs.

John Ehrlichman, who served 18 months in prison for his central role in the Watergate scandal, was Nixon’s chief domestic advisor when the president announced the “war on drugs” in 1971. The administration cited a high death toll and the negative social impacts of drugs to justify expanding federal drug control agencies. Doing so set the scene for decades of socially and economically disastrous policies.

Journalist Dan Baum wrote in the April cover story of Harper’s about how he interviewed Ehrlichman in 1994 while working on a book about drug prohibition. Ehrlichman provided some shockingly honest insight into the motives behind the drug war. From Harper’s:
“You want to know what this was really all about?” he asked with the bluntness of a man who, after public disgrace and a stretch in federal prison, had little left to protect. “The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”
In other words, the intense racial targeting that’s become synonymous with the drug war wasn’t an unintended side effect — it was the whole point." [Source]

But I get it. We don't want to stir up the Negroes and let them know what their government is capable of. Let sleeping dogs lie.

Finally, I would like to once again remind Americans that right-wingnut conservatives are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. Especially when it comes to matters of sex and morality. We read about it time , and time , and time , again. These self-righteous do- gooders tell us to do one thing publicly, while they do something quite different when the lights go down and they are behind closed doors.

Yes, guys like Bill Clinton, John Edwards, and Gary Hart played the field, but they weren't preaching to the rest of us and telling us how God fearing they were.

The latest fraud comes to us from the state of Alabama, where the governor (who looks like he should be starring in one of those AARP insurance ads)  has been allegedly getting his freak on with a top aide.

"Alabama's scandal-scarred governor was refusing to quit Thursday after he was accused of sleeping with his top political adviser — and after steamy excerpts from a purported telephone conversation between the alleged adulterers emerged.

Image result for alabama affair image         **
"Baby, lemme tell you what we're gonna have to do tonight," Gov. Robert Bentley can be heard telling someone named "Rebekah" at one point. "Start locking the door. If we're going to do what we did the other day we're going to have to start locking the door."

Bentley, who does not deny it was him on the tape — but has refused to admit to a sexual relationship with Mason — was back at work.
"He is not resigning," Bentley's spokeswoman Jennifer Ardis told NBC News Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, his alleged paramour, Rebekah Caldwell Mason, issued a statement to Alabama Local News that dodged the question of whether they had an affair, but accused their accuser — fired Alabama top cop Spencer Collier — of gender bias.

"As a wife and working mother, I commute four hours a day to serve on a team alongside some of the most dedicated and talented people in the state, who are committed to helping our people," Mason said.

"Unfortunately there are still people who are set on hindering the ability of women to work in the political arena. I am proud of what I have accomplished in my professional career."

Collier blew the whistle on Bentley and Mason during a Wednesday press conference that send shock waves through the Alabama statehouse. He claimed he was fired from his post as head of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Tuesday because he refused to cover up the governor's affair... Pressed to explain how he can claim they didn't have sex, Bentley answered: "That is not a physical relationship, making those statements."
Asked if he loved Mason, Bentley answered: "I love many members of my staff. In fact all the members of my staff. Do I love some more than others? Absolutely." [Source]

I am sure you do, Gov. I am sure you do.

The drug war has always been a fraud, and I have seen a couple of my good friends get murdered over it. Will anyone listen to these revelations? Frankly, I doubt it.

Hand picking stories to push their narratives? Now who would do that?

Sounds like what the Obama administration did to Tea Party members, coal miners, gun rights advocates, and western ranchers who wouldn't get chased off their land.

John Ehrlichman has been dead since 1999. How convenient now to produce a quote from 1994 that can't be corroborated.

Hillary Clinton was for overthrowing Qaddafi in Libya. Obama was more reluctant than her but lacked the will to stop her. How'd that work out? ISIS controls about 150 miles of Libyan coastline around Sirte and the country has been in civil war for about 5 years. Its a disaster.

Bullshit! What Western Ranchers have been chased off their lands? You mean the ones who refuse to pay grazing fees? Really? That's the best you can offer up, some weak ass false accusations? Weak sauce.

I thought James Buchanan was considered the worst president ever.

Revisionist history.  It was Kennedy's and Johnson's war, not Nixon's.  The war is the biggest reason that Johnson didn't run in 1968; he knew he was toast.  Nixon is the one who got OUT of Vietnam.

Of course, we can't expect truthfulness from Black people.  All of your self-esteem is built on lies, and falsified history is just one part of it.

Supposedly, "they" are pushing Mexican black tar heroin into my "community"; there were a number of arrests recently.  I deal with this by not using the stuff.  Most White people turn out to be able to do this rather easily, so what's wrong with all you melanin-enriched types out there?  Does darkness weaken your minds?

Okay, I don't think the claim was that Nixon pushed drugs into the black community. The story was that the Drug War was, in no small part, a weapon for attacking Nixon's political enemies (white Vietnam War protesters and black people). He knew drug use was prevalent among both groups, and thus he could use anti-drug enforcement to damage or at least de-legitimize them.

Liberals have been making this argument for decades, so the only thing new here is that, allegedly, Ehrlichman backed it up.

Why isn't MSM making a bigger deal out of it? Because this quote from Ehrlichman comes to us second hand, by way of journalist Dan Baum, and him alone, and there's no way to confirm it. Ehrlichman is dead, so no one else can ask him any follow-up questions.

Besides which, Nixon and everyone around him were a pack of liars, so their credibility was pretty bad to begin with.

Is it plausible, though? Yeah. Nixon was paranoid and unscrupulous, and felt that "ratfucking" his enemies was a totally sensible thing to do. There weren't many abuses of power he wouldn't stoop to for personal gain.

I first heard the Erichmann quote on The Daily Show. If you want to be well-informed, think Daily Show, Nightly Show, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and Last Week Tonight with Jon Oliver. Also Bill Maher. Get your truth packaged in mockery, the only way you can keep it down, usually.

Comedians shouldn't be burdened to deliver the news, but they are. We have become the USSR. Low-rated shows aren't a threat; otherwise they'd be cancelled.

Then there's the internet. If you missed the comedy shows, or if there was no way to make it funny, Field Negro is a good bet.

Only in the history books that you and your wingnut friends produce in your small circle of crazies.

Looking at it all objectively, to date he is easily one of the ten best presidents in this country's history. He could move into the top five before it's over.

OOOOOOO The Fox News secret waves are ringing in muh head. I need a new tin foil hat made of extra heavy duty tin foil.

The "bombshell revelation" is made by a someone with an agenda and can't be questioned. There is no evidence that the war on drugs was a scam or that is was designed to target balhs. NONE.

We know field doesn't depend on things like facts or evidence. They are often racist and don't support moonbat conspiracies.

Instead field depends on racial paranoia and his readers being stupid for the cause.

Nope it doesn't. Another moonbat conspiracy that has been debunked and the fraud that invented the conspiracy took the cowards way out instead of owning his lies.

Not exactly.

There's no meaningful evidence to substantiate the conspiracy theory that the CIA deliberately pumped drugs into the black community.

However ...

Reagan did definitely support the Contras. The Contras did deal drugs to support their anti-communist rebellion. And some of those drugs did end up back in black neighborhoods in the U.S.

The guy who reported on this, Gary Webb, played fast and loose with some of his research, and had his career destroyed as a result. But the general point of his stories was later corroborated by multiple reputable media outlets, even if a few of the specifics were wrong.

The fact of the matter is that while Reagan was a drug warrior, he was much more of a Cold Warrior. If fighting the scary Nicaraguan commies had the consequence of increasing drug importation into the U.S., that was a price he was perfectly happy to pay.

In the 80’s, many people went to jail over the S&L Crisis. In 2000 hardly anyone went to jail for the dot-com scam and the accounting scandals. In 2009, the Wall Street was rewarded for its larceny with bailouts. People have been watching the rich and powerful avoid the law for a long time now. If the bankster-funded Hillary Clinton escapes prosecution and goes on to get elected President, this country is going to burn.

If you want to read some more horrific shit about how the drug war came about, check out Acid Dreams, a book by Martin A. Lee and a team of researchers who studied the results of a FOIA document dump on the government's involvement with LSD and the counterculture. It has some stories about familiar characters, and some about folks you probably haven't heard of, and even a sort-of hero named Captain Al Hubbard.

The news media is now a ratings contest. Since people of color don't watch enough to affect the ratings they don't need to cover our stories. The only ones they cover are those that bleed (usually us bleeding) and make for sensationalistic reporting.

Yeah, about 39 out of 40 White people have no trouble saying no to heroin... and that's after the medical establishment's efforts to pre-hook them using drugs like Oxycontin (which account for more fatalities than heroin).  Before Oxy it was more than 59 out of 60.
