"Don't mess with Texas."

Image result for texas secede imagesThink about this for a minute: Some members of the Texas republican party have tabled a resolution to vote on whether Texas should secede from the United States at their upcoming state convention.

I know. Sounds crazy, right? But this is where we are now as a country.

I could write a voluminous post about this, but I am just going to cut and paste from the comments section from TPM to make my point..

Please do and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. Ever since Texas has become a state that takes more federal money than they pay in under Rick Perry, I see no need to keep them in the union. They won't like the closure of all those military bases either.

I'm for Texas rejoining Mexico.

Can the rest of the states pass a resolution saying "Good riddance."

Yes, please secede. Give up your military bases, U.S. government services, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid (hey, all residents of Texas will be foreigners - we don't have to pay them shit), etc. Try signing a treaty with any nation when you can be blockaded by the U.S. Navy. Yes, please go totally John Galt and pay for your own shit, and see how happy your Teabagger residents are when they finally realize that Baby Jesus ain't gonna pay to pave their roads and their goddamned cable bills. And have fun protecting yourself from Mexico. Can't wait to see the fence you build to protect yourselves when YOU have to pay for it. I would love to see Mexico reclaim its former territory, while Washington, D.C. rocks with laughter. Se habla espanol, motherfuckers?
If they do debate secession, I personally think they should be banned from participating in the 2016 election. That is a treasonous act, plain and simple. Secession is sedition.

What can I say. Texas + Republicans = Assholes.

I wish they wouldn't do that to me..getting my hopes up like that.... only to dash them .. \

Let them go. Then we can build a wall around the place. I'm sure the citizens of New Mexico would build their part for free. Among the benefits of letting Texas secede is that the Dallas Cowboys will never play in another Super Bowl. They probably won't anyway, but it never hurts to make sure.

Perfect, just fking perfect. GO! Run! Do NOT come back when you don't get all 'your free stuff' that you blame on those pesky liberals. GO!" [Source]

Ok, so not everyone loves Texas, but jokes aside, isn't it dangerous that members of a major political party are even considering breaking up the union?  These are the same types of people who have no problem with Donald trump being our president. The same Donald trump who pushed the narrative that the twice elected president by the majority of the people was not even born here.

Just wait until the look at the twenty dollar bill and see a black woman

If Texas does end up seceding, maybe they will elect Donald trump to be their next president. That is, of course, if he isn't elected to be the president of the rest of the 49 states.

No border run for Barack.

I guess president Obama will not be doing what Taco Bell used to tell us to do back in the day. Some pundits and politicians are saying that in order to avoid a W type Katrina moment, he should. (Barack Obama doesn't care about Mexican people.)

"After delivering a statement about his administration’s plans to deal with the current crisis at America’s border with Mexico Wednesday afternoon, President Barack Obama addressed for the first time the mounting criticism over his decision not to visit to border on his trip to Texas this week. In answering a reporter’s question on the controversy, Obama defended his decision by saying he was more interested in a substantive solution to the problem than a simple “photo-op.”

The president explained that his Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson will be making his sixth trip to the border this week and briefs him on the situation after each visit. “So there’s nothing that is taking place down there that I am not intimately aware of and briefed on,” he said.

“This isn’t theater,” he said. “This is a problem. I’m not interested in photo-ops, I’m interested in solving a problem.” [Source]

I hear you O, although the optics would have been nice. I guess your approvals can't get any lower so you are just riding with your gut on this one. I hope that Congress gives you the 3.7 billion you are asking for to help with our border crisis, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Anyway, at least the  Governor of crazyland decided to shake the president's hand. I bet he is still checking to see if the black rubbed off.

"Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) was determined not to shake President Barack Obama’s hand when he arrived at Dallas-Fort Worth airport on Wednesday. But in the end, it appears he just couldn’t help himself.

As CNN’s Wolf Blitzer said while Obama was descending the steps of Air Force One, “I’m anxious to see if the governor Rick Perry, the governor of Texas, is there at the bottom of the stairs to receive the president of the United States.”
The anchor betrayed some surprise when Perry walked across the tarmac to greet Obama, shaking his hand and walking side by side to Marine One, where they would have a private meeting about the current crisis at the border.

Earlier in the week, Perry reportedly declined Obama’s offer to shake his hand with television cameras rolling upon his arrival in Texas. According to the Austin American-Statesman, Perry wrote to Obama:
“I appreciate the offer to greet you at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, but a quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. I would instead offer to meet with you at any time during your visit to Texas for a substantive meeting to discuss this critical issue. With the appropriate notice, I am willing to change my schedule to facilitate this request.
At any point while you are here, I am available to sit down privately so we can talk and you may directly gain my state’s perspective on the effects of an unsecured border and what is necessary to make it secure.”
Following Perry’s letter, the Obama administration decided to invite the governor to join Obama at a previously scheduled meeting with faith leaders and elected officials in Dallas. Following that concession, Perry decided he would be comfortable greeting Obama on the tarmac, though he did not indicate whether he would deign to shake the president’s hand."

Don't mess with Mexas.

"I'm here today to offer my unwavering support to...millions of Texans just like yourself that are tired of Washington, D.C. trying to come down here and tell us how to run Texas."

That was Rick Perry, the republican governor of the soon to be country of Texas, declaring to his citizens that they want to be free from the tyranny of Washington.(Funny, I didn't see any of my cousins in that You Tube clip.) Yes folks, in the great state of Texas, they have decided to pass a resolution affirming their sovereignty under the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Sounds like the folks in "hook em horns" country are trying to tell us something. (That there is secession talk, folks.)

Where do I start with this? Okay let me start by saying to my friends in Texas: we will miss you. Not all of you, but the ones who found themselves, for whatever reason, stuck in that land that time forgot. My only hope is that you can get out before the secession is complete.

Personally, I hope the good governor takes the stinking Cowboys and every backwards ass town from Amarillo to Brownsville and El Paso to Orange and declare the entire joint their own country. Then let's pull all of our federal services out of the new country of Texas which our taxes pay for and see how they make out. No more post offices; no more food stamps; no more farm subsidies; no more Medicare or medicaid; no more fancy roads to drive from one god forsaken town to another; no more funding for their child support offices or social security benefits for their seniors or disabled; no more money for research for their universities; --hell no more money, period-- and sure as hell no more electricity, because we will be cutting their asses off of the national grid. I mean give me a fucking break! I know they want to take our federal stimulus money without oversight, but that ain't gonna happen. Sorry, we don't trust you to spend it right. The scary thing is that Texas isn't alone, seems there are a dozen or so more states led by republican crackpots considering the same thing. See folks, this is what happens when Radio Rwanda AKA FOX NOISE gets to run amok.

I bet the folks who fought at the Alamo didn't sign up for this shit. If they only knew then what we know now Texas would probably be the most northern state of Mexico. Its not too late of course, I am sure the Mexicans would love to take them back. Now there might be a slight language problem, but the Canadians have handled that type of thing just fine. Just think, the hottest teams in Texas will go from being the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, to the Houston Dynamo and the F.C. Dallas soccer teams, over night. The downside, of course, would be that my Iggles wouldn't get to beat down the stinking cowboys every year like we do now. But Jerry Jones could always move the team to Oklahoma.
