The Reverse Race Card.

*
Ms. Sherrod, I go to an excellent cleaner here in Philly. They will do a great job of getting those tire marks off the back of your beautiful dress. Still, I bet that bus must have been pretty heavy.

Don't worry, your back will recover. Just ask some of the other Negroes who found themselves under the O bus what they used to make themselves feel better.

Seriously, have you all ever seen a brother so afraid of appearing racial than his O ness? No wonder the wingnuts over at Roger's (You remember Roger, right? He gave A-merry-ca Willie Horton) propaganda station are having so much fun playing the race card with him. Every time he tries to distance himself from you Negroes and be the president for all A-merry-ca, they pull him back in.

"Conservative media, particularly Fox News, have finally picked up on the item and are trumpeting it as another example of President Obama's Machiavellian hand silently pulling strings behind the scenes to protect those groups who might have helped steer votes in his direction during the 2008 race for the White House. If this sounds familiar, that's because you've heard it before -- back when it was known as "The ACORN Scandal." If you can't immediately see what the members of the New Black Panther Party and the people who were generally helped out by ACORN have in common, you need to have your eyes checked.

For the record, the New Black Panther Party is a fringe group that's actually been denounced by the original Black Panthers. Its leader, the artist formerly known as Paris Lewis who now goes by the amusingly generic hyper-African moniker "Dr. Malik Zulu Shabazz," is the kind of clownish caricature Fox News loves to trot out at regular intervals. This is because he's guaranteed to say something mindlessly inflammatory that will scare the hell out of the network's demographic of lily-white, middle-American doofs, confirming all their worst fears about the encroaching "Negro threat." As former Washington Post columnist Dave Weigel beautifully put it, Shabazz is to Bill O'Reilly what the KKK or GG Allin was to Donahue: Somebody who makes for great TV and whom your core audience can feel comfortable disliking intensely.

If you haven't been watching Fox News lately -- and I can't in good conscience suggest that you do -- the Panthers "story" has been obsessively, breathlessly beaten into the ground by one network personality in particular: Megyn Kelly. She's taken it upon herself, bless her little heart, to be the avatar for every freaked-the-fuck-out white Christian soul convinced that he or she is losing this great country to minorities or illegal immigrants or whatever, and that it all started with the election of the Great Kenyan Socialist Usurper. She's like Elizabeth Hasselbeck with an actual associates degree and a shit-ton more professional ambition. Kelly is Fox's rising star du jour, even going so far as to get an official canonization from none other than Sarah Palin via her overworked Twitter feed -- and the reason for this is that she knows exactly when to crinkle her face into that lemon-sucking look of smug skepticism, and just what buttons to press and what open-ended questions to ask of her viewers."

Last night I said I would start sending my money to the NAACP again. Well, I might have to rethink my position. If these Negroes aren't smart enough to vet an entire video before they make an important statement, how can I trust them to advance the cause of civil rights?
Come on people, this is a serious propaganda war you are fighting with the folks over at Radio Rwanda, you can't just let them dictate the terms each battle. You have to fight fire with fire.
And, speaking of fire, the story of how this poor woman got fired is unbelievable. Because the administration was afraid that her story was going to be on Captain Jack's show? (You might have to think about that one for a minute, but it will come to you) Shame!

"Sherrod said she first heard of the possible controversy when someone e-mailed her Thursday to taunt her about her comments. She immediately forwarded the e-mail to the USDA so the agency would be aware. She was told that someone would look into it.

She said it wasn't until Monday that she heard back, and by then, she was being asked for her resignation.

Sherrod said she got four calls Monday from Cheryl Cook, the USDA rural development undersecretary. In the first, she said, she was told she was being put on administrative leave. In the second, she said, she was told she needed to resign.

Asked if she felt she had an opportunity to explain, Sherrod said, "No, I didn't. The administration, they were not interested in hearing the truth. No one wanted to hear the truth."

Ms. Sherrod, to steal a quote from a movie I saw once: They "can't handle the truth."

Uhm, no, MAMM. Obama was top of his class at Harvard and a respected law professor. McCain is a slightly more accomplished George W Bush -- a life long slacker who got by on his daddy's name, oodles of cash and a political 'Bloody Shirt'.
>>>>>>>

Dude, GTFOH with that stupidity, I was Council President in HIgh school, does that make me qualified to be Prez too???

McCain had YEARS of experience on the NATIONAL level AND he was former military (which should be required) and THAT is why he was more qualified than Prez Obama.

Had the races of the candidates been reversed, you NEC members would have raised holy hell if someone as experienced as McCain had lost to a national neophyte like Prez Obama.

Why the hell should it be required to serve in the military to be a civilian head of state? Do you right wingers not know the difference?

Actually, if the races of the candidate had been reverse -- McCain would have never made it through the GOP nomination. His lack of knowledge most issues sans defense (He started as a lobbyist for the Pentagon), his crappy record at the Naval Academy, Keating 5, his foul mouth and his rather shady dumping of his first wife were enough grounds for Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee (two guys who even though I don't agree with them, are head and shoulders above McCain intellectually) to steamroll his ass. Face it, MMAM, having dark skin puts you on a tougher stage than white folks. Obama won because he's a whole lot smarter than the crusty old man fighting for his life in AZ.

UTS, I feel your frustration with the mau-mau Net Roots. Bill Maher said it best, Obama was elected by white people because frankly he's not all that scary. He's not Ali or Jack Johnson -- he's Jackie Robinson or Joe Lewis.

Obama never claimed to be Malcolm. Hell, he's not even Rev. Inc. And unless you don't care about winning elections, he shouldn't be.

Yes, Obama could have pushed harder for a public option and a stronger financial reform. But, in comparison to other guys, this dude is moving at rocket speed on reforms. FDR didn't get this much stuff done until his second term.

However, some of our people are never happy and frankly don't like anyone who doesn't fit into their neat little box.

Most of the liberal criticism I hear about Obama is on some level legit. But a good portion of it is left-wing whackos project their bullshit ideas into a world where those ideas and ideals would never work. This isn't Inception, you can't simply change the landscape because you will it.

To expect a former Senator to be the reincarnation of Marcus Garvey shows just how far off the rails a lot of the faux-revolutionary class in our community really is.

Exactly.

Frankly I wish Mellaneous or others would present one shred of evidence that blacks are looking to Obama to "save them"!!!!

It's absolute nonsense.

Do many black Americans draw a sense of pride that one of them is the leader of the free world???

Damn right. What's wrong with that?

Especially older folks who lived through Jim Crow and never thought they'd see this in their lifetime.

But Net Roots Mau-Maus (I like that)are just bitching for the sake of running their mouths.

And a lot of it is plain old jealousy and crabs in a barrell syndrom.

Ben Jealous should resign. That he would accept the word of Breibart given his background is unforgivable.

Had Ms. Sherrod been a black man, Sharpton, Jackson, the usual suspects would be all over this. Roland Martin agreed with Breibart without having the facts. Thank god CNN has not has had his dumb ass on the air since Tuesday. A negro over at Grio agreed with breitbart before having the facts. This is what black men do to black women without batting an eye. You can still do anything to a black woman in this country and it's just fine with everyone.

First, get your d@mn facts straight. I'm no more right wing than you are fine as Denzel Washington. ONE republican vote doesn't make you right wing, ok snookums???

Commander in Chief should mean prior military service.

You're right, voting for a Republican doesn't make you a right winger. But voting for Grandpa Munster because the Viet Cong shot his plane down makes me doubt your political intelligence.

Again, MMAM, the President is the civilian, elected leader of a democratic republic. The constitution separates the military and civilians powers for a reason -- its a general's job to win a war not decide whether or not we should go to war.

Abe Lincoln never served in the military, does that make him any less of great President? And neither did Ronald Reagan -- and find me one Republican who thinks that Dutch didn't respect the armed forces. Again, your theory is complete bull and shows no grasp of basic civics.

And if the 'bloody shirt' thing went over your head -- well, pick up a history book.

Again, I respect folks who served in the military. My father and his two youngest brothers are the only males in his immediate family that didn't serve. Half my cousins are vets.

But WTF does military service have to do with running the government? Nothing. If anything, everyone who wants to run for office should a) held a lower one and b) be able to pass the basic Civics test we give to naturalized citizens.

This isn't the Roman Empire, "snookums" -- we're not run by a Ceasar, we elect our leaders in two equal branches of government.

Just because you lead a bunch of guys to kill and shoot people doesn't mean you're equipped to run a democratic republic where frankly, 2/3 of the government (Congress and the Courts) don't directly report to you and by law, don't have to give a rat's ass what you think.

If wearing a general's uniform and being a crack shot with an AK-47 is your requirements for Head of State -- move to Central Africa, North Korea or South America.

Yes, equal. Go read a high school US History book.

The President has only a few executive powers -- executive order and veto. But, you can over turn both if Congress got off its ass.

That's why I'm amazed that people get so hot and bothered by Obama but somehow don't get on Nancy Pelosi's ass? Want to end the war? Tell Congress to grow a pair and end funding for the war. Obama can pout and stamp all he wants -- if the Congress wanted to end the war yesterday, it could simply close the checkbook. If Financial Reform and Healthcare Reformed got stripped bare -- it can be laid at the feet of Reid who can't put the fear of God into cats like Ben Nelson.

If the branches weren't equal Nixon would have served out his term and Clinton wouldn't have been impeached. Also, Presidents wouldn't be required to have Senate Confirmation of nominees for the Judiciary or other executive post -- he could just hire who ever he wanted.

Again, most people put these God like powers on the President that simply don't exist -- he's a king. We have Senators and Congressmen for a reason.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Boy, this ain't about your false sense of "equal" this is about control and power.

Prez Obama is powerless for more reasons than you name: 1) He's a Dumbocrat and dumbacrats are some punk asses and have been for a while now. 2) Prez. Obama lacked the experience on the national level that would have allowed him time to create/nurture the kind of political "partnerships" that allowed an Actor like Reagan, to be highly successful. Not only that, I'm convinced that a Black man would ONLY be "allowed" to become somewhat successful in this regard, and certainly NEVER on the level he could/would have had he been white. In other words, I bet on the fact that Obama would NEVER overcome the "forces" of racism to become an effective leader.

So if I decide to go get that high school history book, I'd likely use it to wack you upside the head for being so d@mna naive about how the real world works.

Now wipe off your milk mustache and get ready for bed!

Before this electon, i didn't Obama could win because this country wasn't redy for a blck president. Now that he's been in office 18 months, I am convinced this country is not ready for a black president.

I can't hate on Barack for how he has to tiptoe through these racial minefields FoxTea lays out, but it really is frustrating to see.

The NAACP really need to get their act together. I was disappointed with Julian Bond who tried that BS "in house" nonsense about how they were snookered.
The NAACP HAD THE COMPLETE TAPES! How on earth can you be snookered if you have the full evidence! Instead they try to beat Obama to the Race Reconciliation microphone.
Now they're talking nonsense about "being the first to apologize to Mrs Sherrod.
How about doing your home work properly next time.
The teaboys and girls must be full of glee because they now realize how scared some folks are and believe you me, they're going to try harder.

And for those of you who didn't get it yet, SHE WAS NOT A FEDERAL EMPLOYEE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. SHE WAS A WORKER FOR A NON PROFIT GROUP THAT HELPED FARMERS. I REPEAT, SHE WAS NOT A FEDERAL EMPLOYEE.
