I am sure that if someone had the cajones to ask if it was such a good idea to publish the recent cover of the Bloomberg Business Week magazine he would have been laughed out of the room by the rest of his lily white colleagues.
This is what happens when you live in a homogeneous racial bubble, you tend to do stupid s**t.
Now that the cat is out of the sheets we are getting all kinds of regrets from the main actors in this latest American racial faux- paus.
"Bloomberg Businessweek is taking a beating from critics who say the magazine's recent cover—featuring a cartoon illustration of what appears to be a black family rolling in cash from a housing rebound—is racist.
"Our cover illustration got strong reactions, which we regret," Josh Tyrangiel, Bloomberg Businessweek's editor in chief, said in a statement to Yahoo News. "If we had to do it over again, we'd do it differently."
Poor Josh. Josh, this is why you need to be like the people on those commercials
and get yourself a black friend. Your black friend would have told you that this wasn't cool. (Well, unless your black friend happened to be a HN like this guy. I see you JC, way to jig for Mr. Charlie when he wants to put down another brotha.)
"The Feb. 25 cover depicts the cash-grabbing family members as stereotypical caricatures inside a two-story pink home above the headline "The Great American Housing Rebound."
"Flips. No-look bids. 300 percent returns," the subhead reads. "What could possibly go wrong?"
"The claim that minorities are creating a housing bubble through flipping, no-look bids, and 300% returns is simply not reality," Jacob Gaffney wrote on HousingWire.com. "Flipping is a form of fraud and not a typical transaction. No-look bids are not exclusive to Hispanic and African-American investors. No one is making a 300% return."
"Businessweek Warns That Minorities May Be Buying Houses Again," Matthew Yglesias wrote on Slate.com."
"This is a common refrain among [right] wingnuts and conservatives: the housing crisis was the minorities fault. Businessweek was just playing along with the narrative. Let's just forget about the fact that it was the big banks in America and their greedy enablers who allowed this all to go down.
Finally, I hate to bring this story to you on the last day of Black History Month, but today my racism chase takes me to Kentucky.
"After tagging Cordia (Hazard, Ky.) High players Emmanuel Owootoah and Marlon King -- both Canadian transfers of Caribbean descent -- in Facebook and Twitter posts featuring a burning flag and a noose hanging over the oh-so-creative phrase "[Expletive] Canada," Knott County Central (Hindman, Ky.) High students began chanting "USA!" prior to a district championship game between the two schools on Friday, according to reports published on Kentucky.com and ZagsBlog.com (h/t Big Lead).
They should have better class than that, man," Owootoah told Kentucky.com after dropping 24 points in a 66-60 loss to their rivals 20 miles down the road. "But at the same time, I thought it was funny. I don't let stuff like that get to my head."
The Knott County Central principal told LEX 18 News the chants are "open to interpretation," since his school's mascot is the Patriots. Good one. The principal knows only of one student who was involved and says the taunting goes both ways between the schools. OK, then. Nothing to see here, I guess.
But what about the fact that Eduardo and Jessica Flores, who serve as guardians to both Owootoah and King, have bullet holes in their back door, a smashed mailbox and report "repeated" attacks on the children, according to the ZagsBlog.com report?
Might want to address those issues instead of trying to bury them under a rug by claiming the least egregious of all the acts -- the "USA!" chants -- are "open to interpretation." Especially since the teams may meet again with a regional title on the line this week.
Not a good look, especially since the University of Kentucky has scouted Owootoah. He might think twice about the Wildcats, even if the acts of a select number of folks from Hindman don't reflect the opinions of most other Kentuckians.
Likewise, as the Big Lead notes, No. 1 national recruit in the Class of 2013 Andrew Wiggins is expected to choose between Kentucky and his father's alma mater, Florida State. Wiggins is both black and Canadian." [Source]
Yes, just keep teaching those kids how to be racists and xenophobes and our republic will be just fine.

"Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it."
Don't look now, but key provisions of the 1965 Voting Rights Act are about to be struck down by the supremes. This, of course, is not big news to many of you Negroes in America; you are all way too busy having fun to care.
I won't bore you with a bunch of inside baseball and lawyer talk, but the bottom line is this: There is a section of the Voting Rights Act which requires certain states -with a bad history when it comes to treating us black folks as equals- to get a preclearance from the feds before they can do any funny stuff with voting procedures in their states. Now a County in one of those states is suing because they didn't like how Congress renewed key provisions of the law a few years back. That's pretty much it in a nut shell.
"Shelby County’s lawyer Bert Rein argued that Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act – which Congress renewed for another 25 years in 2006 – is unconstitutional because the formula used to determine which states are covered is outdated – based on voter turnout and registration data from 1972.
The blatant racial intimidation and discrimination in voting procedures that prevailed in states such as Alabama when the law was written in 1965 and renewed in 1970, 1975, and 1982, no longer exist, the county says."
Riiight.
Not only does it still it exist, it has expanded to other states such as Pistolvania.
Anyway, it's not looking good for Section 5 of the Act, because those conservative judges and their boy Stephen actually seemed to be mocking the very idea of the law. (Well, not Stephen, he never talks, but we all know how he is going to vote.)
One Judge actually called it a "perpetual racial entitlement". Huh?
"It’s an old disease,” Justice Stephen G. Breyer said of efforts to thwart minority voting. “It’s gotten a lot better. A lot better. But it’s still there.”
Not only "there"; it's everywhere.
Finally, if this next story doesn't stop you Negroes from sneaking into movies I don't know what will. You all really need to stop doing what you see white folks do. They can get away with this kind of crap. You Negroes on the other hand, not so much.
"Lendsey and Delilha Harbin ... are facing felony theft charges for allegedly “movie-hopping” last Saturday night at a Portage, Ind., multiplex. The couple is accused of paying to see only one film, then sneaking in to another without paying another admission fee, according to The Smoking Gun.
Reportedly, the hitched pair sprung $6.75 to see the new Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson film, “Snitch,” but when they exited the movie and snuck in to the zombie thriller “Warm Bodies,” they failed to pay.
Two off-duty policemen were moonlighting as security at a nearby IMAX theater and just happened to be standing outside when “Snitch” was letting viewers out. One officer reportedly remembered Lendsey’s bright attire when he first entered theater No. 13, where “Snitch” was playing, and then noticed that the man was nowhere in sight. The second officer thought he had seen the Harbins previously “sneak in to movies without paying.”
The officer reportedly decided to search for the Gary, Ind., duo and found them in another theater waiting for the film “Warm Bodies” to begin. When the law enforcers asked the couple to produce their stubs for the second movie, they could not but admitted to police that they had previously snuck in to movies at the multiplex at least three or four times prior.
When further pressed, they also confessed they had been to a funeral earlier in the day and were not in their right minds.
The Harbins’ excuses apparently fell on deaf ears and they were taken in to custody and placed in a county jail. The pair were later released on their own recognizance." [Source]
Oh lawd! I think I am going to have to stop slipping those munchies into Mrs. Field's handbags. I kid, I kid.
Anyway, at the end of the day, it's the theaters that ought to be charged with a felony for robbing patrons with those outrageous prices for their nasty ass nachos and popcorn.

It's the fourth quarter in the sequester game.
I don't want to scare you Americans like O has been doing, but the dreaded sequester is less than three days away. (All this over 85 billion.) Republicans, of course, can't wait. If this is what it takes to make that Socialist cut some spending then so be it.
Of course O and his band of [not so] Merry Men have been all doom and gloom over this thing. The Secretary of Homeland Security is telling us that planes won't fly on time and the little brown people South of Texas might over run our borders. But nothing seems to be causing the politricksters in DC to move. The republicans are an ornery and dyspeptic bunch and they are tired of O getting the best of them with these battles.
The public is still with O on this one, though, but that could change. He is, after all, the quarterback of the team, and when the team starts losing it's the quarterback who gets the blame. Still, to stay with my football analogy for a minute, it would be nice if he had some good players. These republicans do not have pro bowl caliber talent. They were drafted by folks who could give a damn whether the team wins or loses; they just want the quarterback to be sent packing. When the specter of weaker military won't shake them you know we are in trouble.
And the beat goes on.
"Speaker Boehner said the last Republican House passed two plans to cut the debt, and now the Democratic-run Senate should step up with an alternative.
The Senate's top Democrat, Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, said his party wants to work with Republicans, but the GOP "would sacrifice 750,000 American jobs rather than ask multimillionaires to pay a penny more."
According to the White House, about 90,000 civilian Defense Department employees would be furloughed in the weeks after sequestration hits. The cutbacks would cancel the maintenance of 11 ships based in Norfolk, and defer ships throughout Virginia."
Mr. President, it might be time to take a knee.
Finally, it's been a year since a color aroused vigilante shot and killed a young African American teenager because he looked "suspicious." Since the killing the shooter has become a hero to those who want to live out their reverse Django fantasies here in America.
I feel for the parents of that child, because no matter how some people want to paint a picture of the type of young man he was, the truth is that we will never know what he could have become.

Sending some love for my sisters.
This is a tough time to be a sister in America. It doesn't matter if you are young or old; American just hasn't been too kind to you lately. (Sorry Onion, I know that it is satire, but you don't get to call a 9 year old a "cunt".) And it's not only Mr. Charlie. It's your own sons killing each other in record numbers, and your men, who should be standing by your side, abandoning you and leaving you to hold it down on your own.
Even the most powerful sister in America can't get any love these days.
I saw Michelle Obama handing out the best picture award at the Oscars last night, and Mrs. O was beautiful and classy as always. I mean what's not to like about that, right? Well, not so fast.
"Michelle Obama’s surprise appearance at Sunday night’s Academy Awards has set off many on the right, criticizing her for supposedly crashing or forcing herself on the event.
The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin wrote a scathing review of the first lady’s appearance, complaining about nearly every word she said, and claiming she must have felt “entitled” to “intrude” on the big Hollywood night. In her eyes, an appearance like last night’s “makes both the president and the first lady seem small and grasping. In this case, it was just downright weird.”
Rush Limbaugh attacked the first lady on his Monday radio show too, calling her appearance “unneeded” and “out of place” and insisting that Hollywood had to “throw her a crumb” because Lincoln lost (President Obama’s “semi-autobiography” according to Rush-logic.) He compared the giant screen to the Apple 1984 ad, saying Michelle looked like the “dear leader” of our “totalitarian state.”
The National Review put together their round-up of the various responses “mocking” the first lady. The Drudge Report called her a party crasher in his banner headline. The Breitbart team complained she hijacked the Oscars." [Source]
Now, to be fair, this issue with the First Lady is more a GOP problem than it is an overall American one. Mrs. O's favorables are high, and most Americans seem to appreciate the fact that we actually have a First Lady that we can be proud of. (When the next First Lady comes along that can do "The Dougie" holla at your boy.)
But while watching the Oscars it dawned on me that no matter how much society at large tries to typecast and stereotype my sisters, and no matter how much emotional pain and struggle some of them have to go through on a daily basis, there is nothing that can compare to their inner and outer beauty. From Halle, to Zoe,to Robin, to Jennifer; I love them all, not to mention everything that they represent: Beauty, courage, grace, and talent.
I know that a lot of you brothers like to complain about how hard you have it in America and what a grind it is just to get by on a daily basis, but just think, it could be worse; you could be doing it alone.

The "mistake" that delayed justice for Dorsie and company.
*I know that Americans consider him one of their greater presidents, and that his image is carved out on Mount Rushmore, but I am not feeling any Teddy Roosevelt love right about now.
It's still "Black History Month" so I feel a need to share an article I read in my hometown paper about the aforementioned Teddy Roosevelt today.
"President Obama recently told an interviewer, "I make a mistake every hour, every day." This is a good sign.
We all make mistakes, but we won't all admit it. When that happens at the presidential level, there can be far-reaching harm. One spectacular, yet little known, example occurred during the administration of Theodore Roosevelt. On Nov. 5, 1906, Roosevelt dishonorably discharged 167 members of the all-black 25th Infantry, who had been falsely accused in the shooting death of a white bartender in Brownsville, Texas, that summer. Historian Lewis L. Gould would later call Roosevelt's action "one of the most glaring miscarriages of justice in American history." Ohio Sen. Joe Foraker objected, and asked for a trial so the soldiers could speak in their own defense. "They ask for no favors because they are Negroes, but only for justice because they are men," he said. A New York Times editorial concluded that Roosevelt had done a great wrong. But the president refused to reverse his decision. The men were dismissed without honor or trial, denied pensions, and barred from civil service positions. Roosevelt would never admit having made a mistake in the case and there is no mention of it in his autobiography. Sixty years later, a writer named John D. Weaver embarked on a campaign to exonerate the soldiers. He dug up the documents of the original trials and Senate hearings on the episode, and visited the small Texas town where the soldiers had been stationed. Weaver published The Brownsville Raid in 1970, setting forth the true story of the events that led to Roosevelt's order. The book prompted immediate calls for a reinvestigation. In 1972, the Army found the men of the 25th Infantry innocent, and they were subsequently pardoned and awarded honorable discharges by President Richard M. Nixon. The last survivor among the accused,* Dorsie Willis, was awarded a pension. In a 2006 ceremony marking the centennial of the Brownsville case, U.S. Rep. Solomon Ortiz, an Army veteran from Texas, said, "Today, we take a hard look at our past. When we acknowledge our mistakes, we become better citizens." [More]
Thank goodness for people like John D. Weaver. President Roosevelt did make a mistake, but not in his mind, which is why he never "reversed his decision". I am just glad that we have history. History never changes, and fortunately you can't spin it. It's always there for us to learn about.
Finally, why is the po po in NoCal messing with MC Hammer? That's Hammer for crying out loud! Leave the man alone!
Stay "legit" hammer, just please don't bring back those parachute pants.

Family feud, and two slaves plus two slaves equals....
I am no fan of wrestling, and with all due respect to Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, and Eddie Guerrero, I have never been one. But this feud between Glenn Beck and the WWE is getting really interesting.
"The WWE’s Jack Swagger® and Zeb Colter® have hit back hard at Glenn Beck after Beck referred to them as “stupid wrestling people” on his show. In a video posted online Friday, the two men perform a promo as their over-the-top Tea Party-inspired personae, before breaking character to address Beck’s comments directly.
Beck had taken offense to the WWE characters, who he said were out to “demonize” the Tea Party. “Maybe that’s the way WWE people view the Tea Party,” Beck said on his show. “Maybe they love to hate the Tea Party.”
Pulling back to reveal the green-screen artifice of what they do, Wayne Keown (Colter) and Jake Hager (Swagger) explained to Beck that they are merely entertainers, with no larger political agenda.
“We aren’t in the political business, or the immigration business. We are in the entertainment business,” Keown said. He went on to attack Beck directly for failing to give his audience credit when it comes to the general understanding that pro-wrestling is fake. “Many of your followers are WWE fans and they understand the difference between reality and entertainment,” he added. “Are you out of touch with your audience Glenn? Or are you just a ‘stupid political commentator?’”
Keown once again extended the invitation for Beck to appear on Monday Night RAW this coming week, offering him five minutes of unedited air-time to offer a rebuttal. Beck has already rejected the offer once, saying, “Unfortunately I am currently booked doing anything else.” Will Beck’s desire for self-promotion over-take his reluctance to degrade himself by appearing with the “stupid” WWE? We’ll have to wait until Monday to find out."
Folks, this is ironic, since many would argue that Beck's schtick is the political equivalent to the WWE. Maybe this is why he finds what they do so offensive. Too close to home. There is only room for one Ringmaster in the circus.
Finally, the people of New York are outraged at two Manhattan public school teachers who used slavery to teach math. The fact that the teachers were white and that they were teaching mostly white kids had folks even more upset. (Get on your Air R track shoes Field, I feel a racism chase coming.) Tonight there will be no chase, because I have no problem with these teachers using slavery to teach math in the way that they did.
The problem with some folks here in America is that they want to pretend that slavery never existed. And when children are forced to deal with the horrors of slavery in a teachable way they become outraged.
"School statistics show the student body at the E. 56th St. school is 60% white — higher than the city average — while just 5% of students are African-American.
Parents at the well-off school were shocked by the flap. “I don’t think that’s reflective at all of what the school is about,” said one parent who asked not be named.
Principal Adele Schroeter said she was “appalled” by the incident and ordered sensitivity training for the entire staff.
Youn and Vitucci will face disciplinary action, said schools spokeswoman Connie Pankratz. She would not provide details or say whether the teachers will remain in their classrooms." [Source]
Slavery was shocking; teaching it to children is not. The sensitivity training is being offered to the wrong people; it's the parents of those children and the Principal who should be forced to go to sensitivity training, not the teachers who tried to remind the students about their country's history.

Free for now, "hell hath no fury", and blackmail at the Vatican.
Ladies of South Africa please watch your back, the "Blade Runner" is out on bail.
"Pistorius is getting back on the track, his coach said Friday, before a skeptical South African judge decided Friday that the disgraced runner was not a flight risk and released him on bail.
“I think that will be a very good thing to do. I think just to get his mind clear,” said coach Ampie Louw, adding that Pistorius could resume training as early as Monday. “The sooner he can start with a bit of work, the better.”
But Pistorius, who became a national hero when he competed in the London Olympics last summer and a national disgrace after he killed his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day, has had his wings clipped.
A condition of Pistorius’ bail is that he can’t leave Pretoria without a probation officer’s permission.
Pistorius was whisked off in a Range Rover to an “undisclosed address” after posting 10% of his $113,000 bail, authorities said."
"Wings clipped"? I don't think so. Dude is pushing off in a Range Rover after putting up a little over $11,000.00, and he has all of Pretoria to roam. That doesn't sound like a guy who has had his "wings clipped" to me.
Meanwhile, here in America, there is another high profile murder trial going on. Some girl named Jodi Arias stabbed her boyfriend 27 times. (Dyaam!!) I guess she just had to make sure that he was dead.
Now she is looking at the death penalty if convicted, and Nancy Grace and some of the other cable news outlets are treating this like the it's O.J. redux
The American psyche is a very interesting thing; you just never know what we will obsess over.
Finally, as I suspected, the Pope's resignation had less to do with him being physically tired than him just being tired of some of his peeps and how they behave.
"Pope Benedict’s stunning resignation is being linked to a bombshell report exposing a secret gay conclave at the Vatican being blackmailed over acts of a “worldly nature” with laymen.
The 300-page dossier — compiled by three cardinals investigating the theft of Vatican documents — was given to the Pope on Dec. 17, the same day he decided to resign, an Italian newspaper reported Friday.
Just days after receiving the report, Pope Benedict railed against gay marriage and homosexuality, calling it “the manipulation of nature.”
The probe uncovered a number of factions within the Vatican, including one whose members were “united by sexual orientation,” La Repubblica reported, citing passages from the report." [Source]

He has had enough.
This is a tough time to be a conservative here in America.
If you don't believe me, please consider the case of my man Rush Limbaugh. Poor Rush. He has declared that for the first time in his life he is "ashamed" to be an American. I know I know, you are all reading this and thinking that America is "ashamed" that Rush is an American, and you would love it if another country (say the Dominican Republic) would just adopt him.
I am not sure what has Rush's depends in a bunch these days, but knowing Rush I am sure that it doesn't take much. If you ask me conservatives need to follow S.E. Cupp's lead and call out Rush. Of course we know that this will never happen. Rush is to the republican party what the Pope is to true blue Catholics. The man is untouchable. Forget the fact that he (and others like him) is damaging the brand big time. As long as the "ditto- heads" are a more powerful force than the real thinkers in the party, they will continue to have their issues.
And then there is the case of one of their news outlets making up the news to fit their narrative and the elected officials in the party buying into it.
"On February 7, Breitbart.com's Ben Shapiro reported that Defense Secretary nominee Chuck Hagel (according to "Senate sources") received money from a group called "Friends of Hamas." The report spread quickly through the conservative media as damning of Hagel, until Dave Weigel at Slate.com pointed out a salient fact -- there's no evidence that "Friends of Hamas" exists. Now, New York Daily News reporter Dan Friedman is claiming that a joke he shared with a GOP source is the provenance of "Friends of Hamas." In response to their story falling apart, Shapiro and Breitbart.com -- who angrily and self-righteously demand accountability from the rest of the media for every slip-up, real or imagined -- are lashing out and refusing to accept responsibility for publishing a report based on a falsehood.
Before getting into Shapiro's defense of himself for running with the "Friends of Hamas" rumor, it's worth looking at how Breitbart.com treats other media outlets that print stories that end up being untrue. A couple of weeks ago, Washington Post blogger Suzi Parker reported that Sarah Palin, newly free of her Fox News contract, had signed on with Al Jazeera. The story was not true: Parker had picked it up from the Daily Currant, a parody news site, and the Post issued a correction. Breitbart.com's John Nolte ripped into Parker in a February 12 post, letting fly with a barrage of sexist invective ("isn't she precious?") and slamming her journalistic acumen:
Made up news stories that become accepted as fact? No wonder Rush is "ashamed" of America.

But never one to let facts get in the way of a good Narrative, the "we-meant-to-do-that" Post merely added a correction, changed the headline to "Sarah Palin tries to stay relevant," scrubbed the Al-Jazeera references (the original post can be read here), and still ripped Palin for, uhm, being so desperate to stay relevant.Nolte was back at it a few days later, demanding that Post media writer Erik Wemple investigate the Parker-Palin screw-up and attacking the Post's "too good to check" mentality:
If Parker had a shred of self-awareness, integrity, and dignity, she would have changed the headline to "Too Good To Check," and under it posted an essay about how shallow, smug, bitterly angry partisanship can blind you to common sense.
But that would require having a soul to search.
If Suzi Parker had the power to publish on her own, it's understandable that someone so bitter and joyless could believe what she so desperately wants to believe. But thanks to the Post's own ombudsmen, we now know a Post editor also fell into "too good to check" mode. Now Breitbart.com has been caught in their own "too good to check" fiasco -- one that had greater ramifications than the employment prospects of a former vice presidential candidate. Instead of explaining how it happened, who edited Shapiro's piece, and the attendant disciplinary actions Shapiro might face (the same accountability standards Nolte demanded of the Post), the conservative news outlet is flailing at Hagel, Weigel, and the New York Daily News, and refusing to acknowledge that Shapiro's story is false."
Because Parker and this editor obviously didn't know the Daily Currant is a parody site, that means they published a story based on information from a site with which they were unfamiliar. How did that happen? Who was the editor? Has any disciplinary action been taken?
Made up news stories that become accepted as fact? No wonder Rush is "ashamed" of America.

Dirty old man.
Just when I thought that dumbocratic and republican politricksters in Washington were equally sleazy, along comes former Senator, Pete Domenici.
"Former New Mexico Senator Pete Domenici revealed today that he fathered a son in an extramarital affair with another senator's daughter more than 30 years ago and has kept the secret since then, only telling his own family in the last "several months."
"Former New Mexico Senator Pete Domenici revealed today that he fathered a son in an extramarital affair with another senator's daughter more than 30 years ago and has kept the secret since then, only telling his own family in the last "several months."
In a statement to the Albuquerque Journal, the 80-year-old Republican, who represented New Mexico for more than 30 years, said the mother of his son "made me pledge that we would never reveal that parenthood and I have tried to honor that pledge and so has she."
Domenici wrote that he was worried about the privacy of his son, a 34-year-old Nevada lawyer named Adam Laxalt, as well as the potential impact on Laxalt's mother, Michelle Laxalt, 58. Domenici has eight other children with his wife Nancy." [Source]
Why Pete you old devil you. You kept a jump-off for 30 years?!
"My family has been aware of these events for several months. I have apologized as best as I can to my wife, and we have worked together to strengthen our relationship. I deeply regret this and am very sorry for my behavior. I hope New Mexicans will view that my accomplishments for my beloved state outweigh my personal transgression."
Oh what a tangled web.....
Finally, I sure hope that John McCain didn't think that his faux outrage over Benghazi and the Hagel nomination would get him brownie points with the wingnut base.
"During a heated town hall gathering in the Phoenix suburb of Sun Lakes, McCain said the border near Yuma is largely secure, but he said smugglers are using the border near Tucson to pump drugs into Phoenix. He said immigration reform should be contingent on better border security that must rely largely on technology able to detect border crossings.
McCain said a tamper-proof Social Security card would help combat identity fraud, and noted any path to citizenship must require immigrants to learn English, cover back taxes and pay fines for breaking immigration laws.
"There are 11 million people living here illegally," he said. "We are not going to get enough buses to deport them."
Some audience members shouted out their disapproval.
One man yelled that only guns would discourage illegal immigration. Another man complained that illegal immigrants should never be able to become citizens or vote. A third man said illegal immigrants were illiterate invaders who wanted free government benefits." [Source]
Good luck with that Latino outreach.

I will take racist for five hundred Alec.
Just because he is a liberal and might run for political office as a dumbocrat, that doesn't mean that I believe Alec Baldwin when he says that he didn't call a black reporter a "coon" and a "crackhead". White republicans do not have the entire racism market cornered; they just have a very large part of it.
"According to the New York Post, one of the paper’s reporters, Tara Palmeri, approached Baldwin while he was walking his dog Sunday and asked him about a lawsuit involving his wife, Hilaria. The paper claims Baldwin (inset) responded aggressively, grabbing the reporter by the arm and saying, “I want to choke you to death.”
Then, according to the newspaper, Baldwin turned to the photographer, G.N. Miller, a retired NYPD detective who’s now a Post staff photographer, and called him several names, including “coon,” “crackhead,” and “drug dealer.” USA Today reported that Miller, who is African-American, and Baldwin both filed harassment claims against each other. " [Source]
Sorry Alec, it's not so hard to see a man who called his own 11 year old daughter a "pig" calling a grown ass stranger of the Negro persuasion a "drug dealer" and a "crackhead".
Finally, wingnuts (with the exception of Charles Krauthammer) and some folks in the White House press corps are outraged that O played golf with Tiger Woods this past President's Day weekend. The press apparently was "irked by the lack of access" to the pair. (Yes, because there is nothing Americans want to know more than if the president has learned to hit a fade.) It was just two bi-racial fellows getting their game on. Honestly, the only person who should be pissed is Michelle. ("Barack, I want to go through your phone when you get back. I don't trust that damn Tiger.")
"The fury reached its head when the White House press corps issued a statement slamming the White House's lack of transparency after a golf game with Obama and Tiger Woods went unseen. Krauthammer said the complaining was over a "trivial issue."
"If the guy wants to play golf, the guy deserves a couple of days off," Krauthammer said on The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News Monday night.
"He wants privacy? Big deal. This is the biggest non-story that the media have created since the Kardashian weddings."
Host Bill O'Reilly asked Krauthammer if Woods' "dubious" history lent any credence to the press' outrage.
"I don't think Obama's out there with Tiger receiving marital advice. I think he's receiving advice on how to line up a putt," Krauthammer said."
Try telling that to your fellow FOX NEWS guy, Ed Henry, Mr. Krauthammer.
"Speaking on behalf of the White House Correspondents Association, I can say a broad cross section of our members from print, radio, online, and TV have today expressed extreme frustration to me about having absolutely no access to the President of the United States this entire weekend.... There is a very simple but important principle we will continue to fight for today and in the days ahead: Transparency." [Source]
Ed, I think that the republic will survive if we don't see how Barack Obama lines up a putt.

Walking while black.
If you are a law abiding black man in America you might already know this, but I feel a need to remind you of a few things: Be careful when walking in and out of stores without making a purchase. Try not to walk too fast or too slow, and just try to follow the pace of the other pedestrians and people around you. The last thing you want to do is bring attention to yourself.
Just ask Forest Whitaker. That Negro is rich and famous and he still got embarrassed and shaded while trying to go about his business.
"Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker’s visit to a Morningside Heights gourmet deli came with a side order of stop and frisk.
The “Bird” star was accused of shoplifting and patted down Friday around lunchtime by an overzealous employee at the Milano Market, according to Whitaker’s publicist. The encounter was confirmed by a store employee. The humiliating episode came as Whitaker, who won the Academy Award for his 2006 portrayal of Idi Ami, was walking out.
The suspicious worker stopped Whitaker, charging that he stole something from the store shelves.
'It was around lunchtime and the store was packed," said a Milano employee who refused to give his name. 'We were like 50 people deep. The person walked in and out really quickly so our person just made a mistake. The employee apologized immediately. It was an honest mistake. I've been here 14 years and nothing like this has ever happened.'
Many stars frequent the Columbia University-area gourmet deli specializing in Italian fare. Tobey McGuire and Sarah Jessica Parker have been spotted at the upscale grocery.
Still, Whittaker's representative said the star was troubled by the incident.
“This was an upsetting incident given the fact that Forest did nothing more than walk into the deli,” said his publicist, Jennifer Plante."
Yes, but he did not follow the rules for walking while black; he must have been walking too fast.
Anyway, Mr. Whitaker was lucky; he has a "publicist" to put his stuff out there. Most Negroes don't have a publicist to tell the world that they were embarrassed by some ignorant color aroused store employee.
"His assistant said the actor, whose credits include “The Crying Game” and “Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai,” was on the set and unavailable to discuss the incident.
According to Plante, the 51-year-old Whitaker opted not to call the cops about the allegation — in part because the worker was afraid of getting fired.

He is a Classy guy that Forest Whitaker, after all he went through he still doesn't want the employee to lose his (or her) job.
That's all good and well, Forrest, but just remember how to walk next time.

Joe Rickey's Negro adventure.
Now comes more news from a "post racial America". (h/t Balloon Juice)
So some old dude from Idaho (no surprise there) allegedly confronts some Negro on the plane, and then after dropping the N- word about him decides to slap him in the face. Of course there was only one problem: the Negro was 19 months old!
Yep, that Joe Rickey Hundley is one tough guy.
"A man has been accused of racially abusing then physically assaulting a 19-month-old child on a flight to Atlanta last Friday.
Joe Rickey Hundley, 60, allegedly demanded that the mother of the crying toddler 'shut that n****r baby up' before slapping the infant in the face on the Delta flight on February 8.
According to The Smoking Gun, Hundley has been charged with simple assault after the incident with Jessica Bennett, 33, and her son Jonah.
Bennett told authorities that her son 'started to cry due to the altitude change' as the service from Minneapolis to Atlanta prepared for landing.
Ms Bennett and her adopted child shared a seat on their way to a family funeral while Mr Hundley was in the neighboring seat.
Bennett said she was unable to stop the infant crying. A report compiled by FBI Agent Daron Cheney alleges that Hundley turned to the mother and used the racial slur in telling her to shut up the child."
As reported by The Smoking Gun, Hundley then 'turned around and slapped' the toddler in the face 'with an open hand, which caused the juvenile victim to scream even louder.' According to the mother, the slap 'caused a scratch below [the child’s] right eye.'
Hundley was charged with simple assault in federal court in Atlanta this week. If convicted the man faces a maximum of one year in prison."
Sorry Ms. Bennett, someone should have warned you about adopting Negro children in America.
Of course, as is to be expected, our friend from Idaho is denying that things went down how Ms. Bennett and the N****r lovers on the plane allege.
"The 60-year-old, who is the president of an aircraft parts manufacturer based in Idaho, denied slapping the child or using racial language. He claims that he did 'ask the mother to quiet the child.'
Hundley said he was traveling to Atlanta to visit a hospitalized relative, described his emotional state as 'distraught' and that he had one alcoholic drink on the aircraft.
However, Bennett told The Smoking Gun that she believed Hundley was intoxicated. The mother said that he 'reeked of alcohol', was 'stumbling around wasted' and he consumed several double vodkas during the flight.
Bennett says Hundley told her that Jonah was too big to be a 'lap baby.'
Agent Cheney added that Bennett received help from other passengers on the Delta flight. Todd Wooten, who was seated 12 rows ahead, told authorities that he 'heard derogatory language coming from the rear of the aircraft' and went to see what was going on.
'According to Mr. Wooten,' Cheney wrote, 'he saw Joe Rickey Hundley strike' the child." [Source]
I think that I speak for all Negroes in America when I say that it will be quite a relief when this Barack Obama fellow finally leaves office. Because sadly, in "post-racial" America, even our infants are in danger.

When greed trumps service.
"Leadership is a privilege to better the lives of others. It is not an opportunity to satisfy personal greed. "
~Mwai Kibaki~
Every person who runs for political office should keep that quote by Kibaki somewhere close by. This is especially true of politicians of color, who, in my opinion, have a heavier burden to bear. If you put yourself out there to help your community you had better put aside your own selfish needs and personal agendas.
I haven't blogged about Jesse Jackson, Jr. and his recent fall from grace, because I, like others, was led to believe that he was suffering from some form of a mental disease. However, now that he, along with his wife, has pled guilty to stealing campaign funds and lying on their taxes, I find myself having to my man on blast.
Jesse Jackson, Jr. didn't throw away a great political career and a chance to do some real good because he suffered from depression, he did it because he was greedy. I know that it's hard for some of you Negroes to admit it to yourselves, but that's the reality. And now he joins the black polititricksters hall of shame. It is a group who continually brings shame to their communities and families because of their selfish behavior and....greed.
I know that politics is plagued by avarice and a desire for personal gain, but you Negroes just cannot bite.
I just hope that the next group of talented young African Americans who are sitting on the sidelines and waiting to get into the game are taking notes. This is what happens when you put yourself before the people that you are supposed to be serving. And no matter how smart you think you are, in the end you will always get caught.
"In a state where stop-at-nothing political ambition has been well documented and often rewarded — the seemingly frivolous cause of Jackson's undoing is seen by political observers and former colleagues as both nonsensical and sad.
"When you have a magic name like that, he was in position, waiting for the gun to go off, for mayor, the Senate ... he was playing with the big guys," said Paul Green, a longtime political scientist at Roosevelt University in Chicago who moderated Jackson's first congressional campaign debate. "To go down for this, you just feel sad."
It is sad, but not for Jesse Jackson, Jr.,it is sad for the people of Chicago and the folks who sent him to Washington to help others and not himself.

Suffer the little (white) children.....
You Negroes are some special folks, you really are. Some white folks do not want you all caring for them, but yet you insist on doing just that.
"A Michigan nurse claims she was banned from caring for a newborn child because of her skin color.
Tonya Battle is suing her employers at Hurley Medical Center, in Flint, after they ordered her not to look after the baby in the neonatal intensive care unit following a request from its father, WNEM reports.
The lawsuit states: "The father told the [nurse in charge] that he did not want and African Americans taking care of his baby."
It adds that, during the conversation with Battle's supervisor, the father rolled up his sleeve to reveal a tattoo of a Swastika.
The court documents say: "She [BATTLE]was shocked, offended and in disbelief that she was so egregiously discriminated against based on her race and re-assigned." [Source]
Why were you in "disbelief", Negro? You must be another one of these out of touch Negroes who really believed that there was going to be a post racial America after O made history by becoming America's firsthalf black president.
You nurses are truly compassionate people; salt of the earth as far as I am concerned. But honestly, sometimes you have to let that human side win out a little bit.
Forget that little newborn Nazi baby and keep it popping. Life goes on. It would have been quite interesting if this nurse had some specialized skill set that could have saved the little crumb snatcher's life, but when they reassigned her it proved fatal to the infant.
"And when Battle, an employee since 1988, returned to work she saw a note in the patient's file that read: "No African American nurse to take care of baby."
The court documents add: "African American nurses [LIKE BATTLE]were not assigned to the baby for approximately the next month because of their race."
This story took place in Flint, Michigan. Do they even have white people in Flint?
How did the baby survive so long without Negro contact?
Speaking of survive, it looks like we will all be around a little longer after just missing being hit by a huge space rock the size of a football field. I don't know about the rest of you, but that was a little too close for comfort for the kid.
"It was the closest known flyby for a rock of its size, passing within 17,000 miles. That's closer than some satellites."
The next time we might not be so lucky.

Bad Cupid!
"My funny Valentine Sweet, comic Valentine You make me smile with my heart".
No you don't, my wallet isn't smiling.
This Valentine's Day holiday thing is getting out of control. I think I speak for all men who are already committed in a serious relationship when I say that there should be a Valentine's Day exception for folks like us. Valentine's Day is pretty much 360 days of the year in chez Field. Not cool having to fight over dudes in the flower shop who visit that bad boy once a year. I am a regular damn it! I should be treated with some respect. ($60 for a dozen roses?! No frequent shopper discount?! "No Mr. Field; you pay the same as everybody else". Dude must be a republican.) And don't even get me started on the crowded restaurants. Pssst, fellows, here is a hint for you: next year you should take her to lunch or an early dinner.
Anywhoo, all is well that ends well. We won't have to worry about that little bugger Cupid coming around for another year, playing on our heart strings, and sticking us for our paper with that damn arrow of his.
"Each day is Valentine's Each day is Valentine's Day"
No it isn't. And I, for one, am thankful for that.
One person who won't be enjoying this Valentine's Day is Reeva Steenkamp. She is the now deceased girlfriend of South African "blade runner", Oscar Pistorius. My man allegedly shot his model girlfriend to death and from all reports is claiming that he thought that she was an intruder.
This is a huge story in South Africa. This is their version of the O.J. Simpson circus.
South Africa, like the United States, is a violent place, and folks who have money live in gated and guarded communities away from the have- nots. They also arm themselves to the teeth just in case. Pistorius is no exception. My man loves his guns and he knows how to use them.
I just hope for his sake that he didn't decide to use his gun for something other than protection this time.

It wasn't waterboarding, but the GOP is feelng tortured.
I think I might have jinxed my man Marco Rubio. Just days ago I was praising him for his 2Pac knowledge and warning the dumbocrats that they better watch out for a new rising star in the republican party. And then, inexplicably, he goes out and bombs last night on national television.
First Clint and his chair and now Marco and his water bottle. These republicans sure love their inanimate objects.
They are calling this "Watergate II", water -bottle-gate, "gulp- gate", you name it. It's the reach and sip seen around the world. First of all, what self respecting man drinks Poland Springs water? But I digress. Anyway, poor Marco had the dry throat and the heat anxiety thing going pretty strong.- What is it about following O that makes these republican stars wilt under pressure like Donovan McNabb in the 4th quarter?-I can't blame the poor guy, he has been carrying the future of the republican party on his shoulders of late. He is supposed to be the savior, the "voice of the Republican party". He is the Latino on a shining horse who will lead the old white men of the GOP into diversityland and the new America.
But a funny thing happened on the way to Pennsylvania Avenue, my man got thirsty.
Folks won't believe this, but I honestly feel for the guy. It was almost like he was set up to fail. I can't even dissect his speech like I want to because of this water break fiasco.
Remember the speech? In it Marco said that his neighbors were all just a bunch of working class stiffs.
"Mr. President, I still live in the same working class neighborhood I grew up in. My neighbors aren’t millionaires. They’re retirees who depend on Social Security and Medicare. They’re workers who have to get up early tomorrow morning and go to work to pay the bills. They’re immigrants, who came here because they were stuck in poverty in countries where the government dominated the economy....”
Ahhhm, not so fast.
"Rubio is selling his humble neighborhood home and moving to that dreaded liberal cesspool, that Insider’s Club of elitists, that so not his home-sweet-’hood (fanfare!)… Washington D.C.
Via HuffPo (where there are photos of the working class home he’s selling, including the swimming pool):

Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) is trying to move his family out of state.
As first reported by the Daily Caller, the GOP’s brightest star has listed his 2,649-square-foot West Miami home for $675,000 — money he’ll use to relocate his wife and young children to Washington, D.C., if it sells. [...]
If Rubio gets his asking price, he’ll
make a nice chunk of change on the 4 bedroom, 3-and-a-half bath pool pad: records show he and wife Jeanette bought the place for $550,000 in 2005.So much for being one of the people." [Source]

Dorner's last stand?
As one of my tweeter fam said, it's the "state of the Dorner coverage" on the news tonight. Sorry Mr. President, but this is like a real live Hollywood movie playing itself out in SoCal.
I know that a lot of my cousins are cheering for Dorner because dude is getting Robin Hood love from certain quarters, but I hope that these folks remember that he started his killing spree by killing a brotha.
I am pretty sure that this will not end well. This guy doesn't strike me as someone who wants to be taken alive, and I am pretty sure that the cops out in SoCal are going to make damn sure that he isn't. (Another one of their brothers just died)
There are certainly a lot of interesting developments around this. CNN and other news outlets are telling folks to stay off twitter and other social media outlets. (Yeah right. I will be on my iPad as soon as I finish this post and I will be tweeting my ass off as this thing plays itself out.) The LAPD is reporting that they have resources available to them and they will be ready to use them as soon as the local police departments ask for their assistance. (MOVE anyone?)
It's sad that it took this dude snapping to have this conversation again about corrupt police departments and the folks who run them, but the scrutiny is always needed. Especially on those boys in blue out in Los Angeles. I mean they do have a history.
Now we have to ask ourselves, how many more Christopher Dorner's are out there?
Anyway, I am watching CNN now as it starts to get dark out West. This real live drama will be better than any fiction on television tonight. And if his Oness was hoping for a captive nation to listen to his address he better hope that this thing ends before nine o-clock.
One person who we know will be listening is Ted Nugent. Ted, of course, like a certain ex LAPD cop, loves his guns.
"National Rifle Association board member and conservative columnist Ted Nugent reportedly said that a Democratic congressman who criticized Nugent's invitation to the State of the Union and was paralyzed in a firearms accident has "s**t for brains."
Nugent's comments are hardly surprising given his long record of offensive invective.
Rep. Jim Langevin (D-RI) has urged more than two dozen lawmakers to invite survivors of gun violence as their guests to the State of the Union.
Langevin has personal experience with gun safety. As ABC News reported:
I take that back. Maybe the State of the Union address will be worth watching.

As a 16-year-old, Langevin was critically injured while working with the Warwick Police Department in the Boy Scout Explorer program. A veteran officer handling a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol, not realizing a round rested in the chamber, pulled the trigger, bouncing a bullet off a metal locker and striking the teenager in the neck, severing his spinal cord. After a Republican congressman responded by inviting Nugent to attend as his own guest, Langevin reportedly criticized the invitation, citing Nugent's history of violent rhetoric. At a February 12 press conference, Nugent reportedly responded as follows:
"He probably has s**t for brains," he said of Langevin.Last week, Nugent said that President Obama is "promoting" racism and that his administration has a "racist agenda." [Source]
[..]
"I couldn't be more proud of myself, what I stand for, and for this pompous ass to claim that he cares more about a family that lost a child than I do is a perfect example of the brain dead critics of Ted Nugent," he said."
I take that back. Maybe the State of the Union address will be worth watching.

Mr. Nugent goes to Washington.
One GOP lawmaker has invited Ted Nugent to be his special guest at the State of the Union address. Yes, that Ted Nugent. The man who has called for the president's assassination and the overthrow of the government. I hope the Secret Service gives him the business before they allow him in the House Chamber.
“I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House Chamber to hear from President Obama,” Stockman said in a statement. “After the address I’m sure Ted will have plenty to say.”
Having plenty to say is what got The Nuge in hot water in April 2012 at a National Rifle Association convention. His controversial comments even rated the outspoken gun-rights advocate a visit from the Secret Service.
At that gathering, Nugent had declared, “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year."
Well Ted, O is the president, but you are not dead or in jail; at least not yet.
Speaking of guns, some nut job shot up a court in Delaware this morning and killed two women (one of them his estranged wife) before getting his own wig split. It seems that we have at least one of these every day now. This is not news anymore to us here in the land of the free and the Glock.
This one was a little too close for comfort for the kid.
So are we going to have armed guards to protect armed guards now?

"The man entered the lobby of at the New Castle County Courthouse around 8 a.m. and began shooting, said State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack.
He acted alone, Shavack said, and the shooting was not an act of terrorism.
The two who are dead are women, but Shavack declined to give details about them."
Not an act of terrorism? Tell that to the families of the two dead women and the workers who were in that courthouse this morning.
Your move Mr. LaPierre.

"Going back to Cali"? Or did he ever leave?
Oh lawd! That "Uncle L" looking Negro out in L.A. is in trouble now. They have a million dollar bounty on his head. His days on the run might be numbered. There is nothing that motivates Americans to become good citizens like money. His own mama would turn him in if she knew where he was. I sure hope, for his sake, that he doesn't have any friends, because that million dollar bounty just changed the nature of that friendship.
"The reward comes on the fourth day of a manhunt for Dorner, who has left Southern California on edge after he allegedly went on a killing spree last week to avenge his firing from the police force. Dorner outlined his grievances in a 6,000 word so-called "manifesto" and said he will keep killing until the truth is known about his case.
Dorner's threats have prompted the LAPD to provide more than 50 law enforcement families with security and surveillance detail, Beck said.
Authorities are chasing leads, however they declined to say where in order to not impede the investigation.
Dorner's burned-out truck was found Thursday near Big Bear Lake, a popular skiing destination located 80 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
Investigators found two AR-15 assault rifles in the burned-out truck Dorner abandoned, sources told ABC News."
A six foot 200 plus pound Negro in the snow and mountains near Big Bear Lake and they still can't find him? *shaking head* If you are a citizen of Southern California this cannot make you feel good. To make matters worse they are acting more like "Keystone Kops" with every passing day. Now there is the report that they shot at another innocent citizen who was just going about his own business. No wonder some of their fellow cops who are on Dorner's hit- list are afraid to leave their house.
"David Perdue was on his way to sneak in some surfing before work Thursday morning when police flagged him down. They asked who he was and where he was headed, then sent him on his way.
Seconds later, Perdue's attorney said, a Torrance police cruiser slammed into his pickup and officers opened fire; none of the bullets struck Perdue.
His pickup, police later explained, matched the description of the one belonging to Christopher Jordan Dorner — the ex-cop who has evaded authorities after allegedly killing three and wounding two more. But the pickups were different makes and colors. And Perdue looks nothing like Dorner: He's several inches shorter and about a hundred pounds lighter. And Perdue is white; Dorner is black.
"I don't want to use the word buffoonery but it really is unbridled police lawlessness," said Robert Sheahen, Perdue's attorney. "These people need training and they need restraint." [Source]
Mr. Perdue might as well head over to Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles because he is now officially earned his black card.
Anyway, right now I am watching the Grammy Awards show on television and there is LL Cool J hosting it.
Honestly, if you ask me, I think that Negro has a death wish.

The pariah.
So the Tavis Smiley Negro shunning continues. This time it's his former friend, Tom Joyner, saying less than flattering things about him.
"On Inauguration Day, television personality Tavis Smiley and his friend former Princeton professor Cornel West lashed out at President Barack Obama for using a Bible belonging to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. for his swearing in. (Never mind that the King family gave Obama the Bible, and attended the Inaugural to witness its use.) That same day, Smiley’s onetime friend and host of the show that made Smiley a household name among many black Americans, slammed Smiley’s comments, saying his former protege is “fascinated with his own legacy.”
Noting that Smiley said in his latest attack on Obama, this time on CBS Sunday Morning, that “Obama is a politician, and a pretty good one, but King was a prophet. And while I can appreciate the president’s fascination with King’s legacy of unarmed truth and unconditional love, I’m feeling some sort of way about King being used symbolically for public pomp and circumstance, but disregarded substantively when it comes to public policy,” Joyner had this response:
Much of Smiley’s enmity toward Obama is said to stem from the then-Senator rebuffing an invitation to attend Smiley’s annual “State of the Black Union” panel, which was held on the same day Obama announced his presidential campaign in Illinois. Tavis has denied that, and said he is simply attempting to hold the nation’s first black president accountable." [Source]
I don't think that you can find 20 black people in America who believe Tavis. Of course he is mad because O didn't kiss his ring. And so are a lot of other traditional black folks in the civil rights establishment game. (I see you Cornel)
Obama was smart; he knew that black folks would support him no matter what and that the folks who like to take the lead on civil rights issues would become irrelevant once he gained a national profile. He didn't need their money (not that they have any); he got plenty from left leaning liberal white folks. And he sure as hell didn't need their organizations to help him organize a ground game and help with manpower. He had young white folks and true believers -of all colors- to do that for him as well.
Then, of course, there is the ultimate trump card: his wife. No matter what Obama does he will get a pass among black folks because of his wife. They know that, at the end of the day, they will always have that person whispering something like this in his ear at two o'clock in the morning: "Barack, you know that's f****d up right, you know that should have gone to that little girl's funeral. But don't worry, I will go. "

… I believe that Tavis is the one fascinated with Dr. King’s legacy, but more importantly Tavis is fascinated with his own legacy, and that’s not good. He wants more than anything to be remembered the way Dr. King was, and to some how make that kind of mark on the world.Smiley became a regular commentator on Joyner’s top-rated, syndicated morning radio show in 1996, but he and Joyner parted ways in 2008 in the wake of scathing criticism of Barack Obama — who Joyner actively supported — by Smiley, including during his daily commentaries. Joyner has since become a fierce critic of Smiley and West, who have taken every opportunity to attack the Obama administration and the president himself, often in very personal terms.
Dr. King wasn’t concerned about how he would be remembered, he was concerned with doing good and doing right. In the end, that made him great. Tavis has done a lot of good things but his obsession with becoming great is destroying him. The whole issue with the inscription on the King Memorial illustrates the differences between Tavis and Dr. King. Days before he was killed, believing that death was imminent, Dr. King dealt with it publicly in his Drum Major speech.
Dr. King knew good things would be said about him in death and he was humbled at the idea of it. Tavis is afraid of what will be said about him and it’s driving him crazy. …
