Domestic terrorist and the people who encourage them.

Remember a few weeks ago when the wingnuts were wetting their sheets over reports that the Department of Homeland Security was warning of increased activity by right wing extremist groups? The rightwing rags like the Washington Times were all over it, and it became a rallying cry for the clowns at FOX entertainment and the tea party protesters.

Well, this past Sunday, a domestic terrorist took the life of a doctor who performed abortions-- while the man was leaving his church of all places-- And I was fully prepared to write about the right wing pretending to be outraged, but sadly, that wouldn't be true. They are not. In fact, go to some of the wingnut sites and read the comments; they are damn near dancing with glee. The jokes are coming fast and furious about the killer turning the tables and performing "a very late term abortion on the good doctor".

I have said it before and I will say it again: Domestic terrorist are a greater threat to this country than any external terrorist group could ever be. They are not profiled because they look like the "All American" boy next door. The puppet masters cannot be touched, while they get folks to do their dirty work, carry out assassinations and cold blooded killings. The puppet masters belong to political parties and main stream news organizations. They are free to spew their venom to the ignorant and uninformed, all the while giving them a scapegoat for all the problems in their miserable lives. The Jews. The blacks. The president. The democrats. Those damn abortion doctors. It didn't take much to push Scott Roeder over the edge, from all accounts the man might have already had some issues. But the Scott Roeders of the world are who the poppet masters want to reach. All it takes is one.

Oh come on field, stop it. Would you have written this about John Brown in 1859 when he raided the Harper's Ferry Arsenal and killed pro slavery people? Or would you have written like David Thoreau: "is it not possible that an individual may be right and a government wrong? Are laws to be enforced simply because they are made? "

I wouldn't be writing at all, because I would have been one of the slaves that the "pro slavery" people would have had working against their will. But I am writing now, because those very same "god fearing" people who enslaved my people are the ones who kill abortion doctors because they happen to think it's against god's will. So yeah, to answer your question, I might not have been writing, but I would probably be right there with John Brown getting my beat down on.

If Timothy McVeigh wasn't rotting in hell or some similar place, he would be a FOX news analyst. Who better to give the FOX viewers an insight into the mind of the angry white male and how we can "take back our country"? I have been saying it on this site from day one, and I will continue to say it until folks realize how dangerous the folks at Radio Rwanda (AKA FOX News) are.

"Yes, I think we all know what this is. And if the state of Kansas doesn't stop this man, then anybody who prevents that from happening has blood on their hands ..."

Don't worry Mr. O'Rielly, the blood is on your hands now.

Dr. Tiller, who often wore a bullet-proof vest, was gunned down where he thought he'd be safe -- his own church.

Now, many women will be denied the life-saving care they need. Yes, life-saving. Those late-term abortions anti-choice nuts decry are done for therapeutic reasons. Women and couples went to Dr. Tiller in the 2nd and 3rd trimester when they faced devastating pregnancies, just horrible, horrible stuff. Babies missing brains, massive deformities, the whole lot. Babies that would have faced a short, brutal life post-birth. Not to mention the mothers who would, in many cases, have many complications if not death during delivery.

And, like Field said, this is just the typical pattern of right-wing violence. They did this crap in the '90's during Clinton's time in office and they are ratcheting up the hate machine now. Also, Barack Obama being a black man will only add fuel to the fire.

I realize there are many people who are opposed to abortion who have condemned this murder. I sincerely believe that many in the anti-abortion movement do not support this at all. And, they are angry that this deranged man is being linked to their movement.

However, there is no doubt that there is a far right fringe that feeds off this shit... like the ones posting jokes and celebrating this killing... those fanatics are the ones that need to be watched. They have now shown they are willing to kill.... something the far left did not do during the Bush years.

so if the basis of your "arguments" are based on the White Citizens Council Rights, David Duke, Randall Terry, a Taliban-interpretation of the bible, or FAUX News, then i suggest you go back to your Ted Kazinsky cabin, attempt to do some 'valid' research --- like, oh, i don't know -- a book. however feel free to continue your "profound" literary prose -- like an inconvenient zit, we'll mostly ignore you, maybe attempt to "lance the wound" by throwing an occasional response that's... well smarter & most likely over-your-head, and then impatiently wait for you to go away. because there's nothing worse than when bullies w/ mental health issues grow up and 'play' at adults.

FN,

You said "It didn't take much to push Scott Roeder over the edge, from all accounts the man might have already had some issues."

Some issues? SOME ISSUES???

The man had a serious mental illness, paranoid disorder with delusions. He was the ticking time bomb. He could be set off by anything that he thought went against him and would then explode where he had been focused and groomed.

He was given social approbation for the more and more extreme things he said. Other than these hate groups he probably had no social network. So he "collected" extreme causes like anti tax, self-sovereignty, and of course violent anti-abortion rights.

People with these severe mental illnesses cloak themselves into the common cause celebre of their times. These frequently involve religious causes or disputes. Or the danger of small groups of people who are "different." It could be Jews, in the 50s it was communists, in the 60s hippies, in the 70's Viet loving traitors, in the 80s welfare recipients taking what is "mine"-- that last one is still with us. They have to hate to justify their feeling that they are personally under attack.

I will bet he will be described by those not in his little world of complimentary crazies as "quiet", "kept to himself" and "unfriendly." (Although he may have had a few blow ups depending on how stressed he got when not with people with whom he could spew.) But within his chosen circles he will be called friendly, appreciative, at most "intense." But he won't be found to be close to anyone.

I am tired of the ignorance and tip toeing around mental illness. I may not have an accurate diagnosis but if we don't recognize some aspects of diseases that are dangerous, we leave ourselves in danger.

Few of the seriously mentally ill are violent, but when they are stoked, when they are given permission, time after time, and when they are given approbation as they get more unhinged, they become the ticking time bomb.

And our ignorance lets it go off.

There are a lot of "Roeders" out there and Beck, ORiley, and their friends are winding them up.

And, yeah, I would have supported John Brown too. His problem wasn't madness; he was mad, rightfully, righteously so.

GrannyStandingforTruth said...

These folks are crazier than a road lizard. O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter, Mergyn, Beck, Hal, Malkin, and Rush are some dangerous people. Always instigating and stirring up hatred.

If I was the FBI, I would be rounding the whole Fox crew up right about now before someone else gets hurt, because if they don't the murder of Dr Tiller is just the beginning. They'll keep on doing just like they're doing now, claiming innocent of inciting hatred that leads to murder and more people will be killed behind their mess.

Send them to gitmo since they seem to think it's such a nice place. If anyone deserves to be in that place it is all of them do.

If MSM doesn't shine the spotlight on Fox News and keep it on them, they'll be just as guilty in aiding and abetting hatemongers who incite murder.

Also I wish some of the people so concerned about fetuses would care about babies/children/adults.

Black Diaspora said...

He that wrote with His finger, "Thou shalt not kill," upon a stone table, is not going to suddenly condone it to appease those who believe that a "baby killer" deserves death.

If God wanted Tiller dead, he would have killed him, Himself, after the first of his estimated 60,000 abortions.

Hell, Tiller wouldn't have been born in the first place!

And the same can be said of Hitler: How many of God's chosen people died at his hands?

If Tiller killed his 60,000 he didn't do it alone. We don't have just one murderer here, we have 60,000 plus one.

Where's the outcry to prosecute them, using the same kangaroo court.

Our understanding of God, or lack thereof, is egregious. We attribute to Him all our failings, our good and bad conduct, and use Him to justify acts against humanity that would make the devil blush.

Like the terrorists that we condemn as religious zealots, anti-abortionists take their marching orders from an impotent God that they believe have enlisted them to do His Dirty Work, since He's unwilling or unable to do it Himself.

No such God exists. God's Works are Good only.

God doesn't need man for anything. A God with a "need" is no God at all, but a supplicant.

And since God is either dead or too helpless to stop that which He commanded us not to do--to kill--some on the right, Bill O'Reilly in particular, for his continual verbal assaults against Tiller, filled the void, possibly inciting others to do what he was too cowardly to do himself, believing, perhaps, that God spoke through Him.

Well, God didn't....

Those that killed Tiller breathed life into the act, and the numbers are greater than one.

Those that created the climate that justified the act are guilty as coconspirators, but they'll only be tried in the court of public opinion, and their punishment will not match the severity of their crime.

In some circles they'll be applauded right along with Scott Roeder as one of God's Heroes, one of God's Warriors--a dubious honor and distinction.

God need no Heroes, and certainly no Warriors.

That would make Him impotent, as though He needed someone to do for Him what He's incapable of doing for Himself.

No such God exists.

Since men do not risk health nor life to carry a fetus to term, we shouldn't have a say in the abortion debate--certainly not a say in the right or wrong of it.

As I see it, only women should have the ultimate say--although I, as a man, would prefer to have every fetus brought to term when and where possible, and health, and life-and-death issues aren't impediments.

And those that would circumvent the "rule of law" and our constitution to do the "bidding of God," as they see it, are neither God fearing nor law-abiding.

Too often we judge events by today's standards. As far as the Black Panthers; some things were ABSOLUTELY needed for that time in history. I"m sure the commenter can believe that someone who sees their village and family destroyed by one of US bombs will want some "payback". Sadly, the same people who want to ban abortions are always the most vociferous about not increasing taxes for things like schools, welfare and recreation programs. They want the kid born so he can grow up in a lousy environment, get himself into trouble, end up in prison and (they hope) end up on death row. So much for *life*, eh?

Same as if they would feel an obligation to help a woman who was being assaulted, or someone who had just been in a bad accident.

Not saying they're right or wrong, just trying to tell you why a man might care what happens to your baby.

I have never heard of anyone calling our soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan the names you cited and I am against our presence in Iran.

If anything, there has been outrage that our kids are over there fighting a war that was started with a tissue of lies, and we want them to come home.

Yet they keep volunteering, knowing there's a really good chance they'll end up in Iraq or Afghanistan, or maybe even Iran or Pakistan.

It IS a volunteer army, ya know.

Sad thing when two of those volunteers were just killed in their own country.

The shooting of two newly minted soldiers, who were in the hometown recruiting program, by a wannabe Muslim irks me just as much as the Dr. Tiller shooting.

I would not classify the two shooters are terrorists per se. Let us call a spade a spade-- these two assholes are murders.

A Person of Interest said...

Guess it depends on the reasoning behind the shootings.

I guess the guy that shot Tiller thought he had a reason.

But, I haven't heard any motive for the shootings of the soldiers. From what I understand, the shooter never even was in the military.

So, what was his beef?

The man who shot the Army recruiters is a terrorist and has been charged as such. The man who shot Dr. Tiller is a terrorist. Why hasn't HE been charged as such? Oh, sorry, he's white and he ONLY murdered someone the rightwing/evangelical/republicans believe should die. My mistake.

Hi FIELD, I was watching HANNITY last week and PAT ROBINSON was on, he sent out a message that the REPUBLICAN'S/CONSERVATIVE'S should really go after SONIA SOTOMAYER, PAT ROBINSON is suppose to be a EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN, but yet, he want's SOTOMAYER to be attacked! now is that righteous? NO! it is people like ROBINSON and all the other's that caused the death of Dr. STILLER!

Dr. STILLER had no right to be involved in ABORTION! he was suppose to be a CHRISTIAN, GOD is about life, and i don't know how Dr. STILLER came to be an ABORTIONIST, but, he should have read his BIBLE more closely.

This is a true fact, about seven year's ago my niece was told her baby would be born with DOWN SYNDROME, my niece is a CHRISTIAN, she was given every test their was, but, yet they came back positive for DOWN SYNDROME, abortion never came up, my niece would call me every day to be encouraged, and trust me it wasn't easy, I would be on the phone with her for hour's, keep in mind people the DOCTOR'S said her son would be born with DOWN SYNDROME, but, yet, her son was born a perfectly normal little boy with no sign's whatsoever of DOWN SYNDROME, ask me do I believe in MIRACLE? Yes! Dr. STILLER should not have died the way he did, but, yet, he allowed himself to be trapped into the way of the world, and eventually it killed him. so all I can say is lord give his family strength, in the name of JESUS.

I am so saddened by the glee at the murder of this man in a church by people who profess Christian faith all over the net and the news. As a Christian, it is my belief that these over-zealous crusaders for violence and hate are the worst enemy to the truth of the Word of God in America. The work of Christ is the Great Commission, that is, to spread the truth of the Gospel and help more people come to know about it AND THEN MAKE THEIR OWN EDUCATED CHOICES. Jesus didn't beat anyone over the head who didn't believe.

The truth is, these psychopathic right wingers just need someone to hate, period. They thrive on hate. It's minorities. It's foreigners. It's gays.

Meanwhile, what no one talks about is the shortage of OBGYNs in America because of kooks like the one who killed this guy. What are women supposed to do to have babies delivered when everyone's scared to go into the field?

From what I can tell from my regular family doc, very few want to go into the practice anymore. Between the super high malpractice insurance and the chance of being killed for medical practice, young docs are staying away from the baby business.

What does this mean for WOMEN like me who choose to bring their children to term? Well, it meant that I had no baby delivery in the hospital in my small town, so my husband and I had to go to another one when I went into a crisis that led to early delivery. One trafic jam on the Turnpike and I might have been in seizures, harming me and my wonderful son. Praise God for the back roads...

It means everyone I know with a pregnancy that is "high risk" has to go to a hospital or doctor for check ups a ways from their home. Because there are no docs or facilities accessible in hospitals and none locally. No one wants to pay the liability insurance or the security. How is this not a national health concern? The point is not the stopping of abortion for me. It's the terrorizing of physicians who deal with anything to do with women's reproductive organs.

When they start attacking the prostate doctors then I'll think it's about saving the unborn. Last time I checked, there wasn't any doctor giving vasectomies on the news with a bullet proof vest on. Not to mention all of the fertilized eggs sitting frozen before being destroyed by big corporations in fertility clinics. Where are the prostestors there? Until they stop a sperm donor at the door, they're dubious to me.

I too was told that my daughter was going to be born with Down Syndrome (DS) and had 3 days to make a decisions before the 20 week deadline.

Not only did we not have a not have a DS baby, but she's gifted and talented in school.

Every now and then I allow myself to think about how crazy and institutionalized I'd be now had I chosed to have an abortion and happened to take a glance at the child and saw she was normal. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened to my 1st college roomate who aborted twins she didn't know she was carrying.

In reading a story of Dr. Tillers murder, one woman described how she and her young son had to stop seeing him because of the harassment. Those protesters think they have the right to violate anyones privacy.

I personally wanted to smack one upside the head, when I was going to the dermatologist that was in the same building as an ObGyn. One of the protested followed behind me into the building to the elevator. Because I am female they automatically assumed too much. I also wonder if it was because I was black. I didn't say a word to them, no need to justify why I was there. My life is none of their business.

My feeling is, that if you outlaw abortion there should be the Gestapo that tracks down every sperm donor and enforce child support. Those who are against it, should also be made to take care of those dead mother's children and the children who are born without brains and other very severe defects.
