Andrew and Jacoby.

So, once again, we have to call wingnuts on their bullshit. This time, as Warner Wolf used to famously say: "Let's go to the video tape"

"Three Democratic congressmen — all black — say they heard racial slurs as they walked through thousands of angry protesters outside the U.S. Capitol. A white lawmaker says he heard the epithets too. Conservative activists say the lawmakers are lying.
What does the video show? Not much. Indeed, new interviews show that a much-viewed YouTube recording cited as evidence by conservatives was actually shot well after the time in question."

Wait, you mean the video tape that the wingnuts were calling the smoking gun was full of blanks? Now there is a surprise. Yet they still persist with this charade.

"Stung by the charges of racism, conservatives and tea party activists insist it never happened. And one of them is offering big money if anyone can prove it did.
With so many media and citizen cameras at the demonstration, any epithets would have been caught on tape, says Andrew Breitbart. He's the web entrepreneur who released the video of ACORN workers counseling actors posing as a pimp and prostitute, and has pledged $100,000 to the United Negro College Fund if anyone provides proof of the epithets. "It didn't happen," said Breitbart, who wasn't there. "This is 2010. Even a racist is media-savvy enough not to yell the N-word."

Andrew, if you weren't there, how the hell do you know that it "didn't happen"?
And again, why the hell would I take the word of a bunch of rabid wingnuts over the word of a civil rights icon?

"Listen, I was there," Carson, D-Ind., said in an interview. "In many regards I think (the challenges are) a veiled attempt to justify actions that are simply unjustifiable. I think we need to move toward a dialogue that explores why this kind of divisive and reprehensible language is still making it into our political debate."A fourth Democrat, Rep. Heath Shuler of North Carolina, who is white, backed up his colleagues, telling the Hendersonville (N.C.) Times-News that he heard the slurs. "

Hear that Andrew? Even a white man who was there backs up Lewis and company.

But I tell you what I am going to do. I don't have $100,000.00 to throw away like Andrew Breitbart. But if you wingnuts can prove that it didn't happen, I promise I will raise $10,000.00 and donate it to the local Tea Party Chapter. And, just to sweeten the deal for you wingnuts out there; I will stop blogging forever. [Story]

Finally, I can't let this next story go without blogging about it. My man Greg Fuller sent it to me, and as painful as it is for me to write about, I have to share it with the rest of you. That's how we do here in the fields, we try to keep it one hundred percent at all times.

So here is the story:

"Jacoby Laquan Smith says he will turn himself in to St. Paul police this week for what must be the most unmanly crime on record: domestically abusing his armless, legless girlfriend.
Smith allegedly punched Tiesha Bell in the face 10 times during the March 22 incident and faces a misdemeanor fifth degree assault charge and a gross misdemeanor for interfering with a 911 call. Bell was in no position to defend herself, being that both hands and both legs were amputated due to a childhood illness. But Smith says don’t let that fool you–Bell is like a handless, legless Ultimate Fighter. 'She’ll swing, push me down and choke me with her nubs,' Smith told the Pioneer Press."

.................I am sorry y'all, but I am speechless. It's hard to write after reading some shit like this. And for all you pro- life folks out there, I have a serious question for you: After hearing about Jacoby Laquan Smith, would you care to rethink your position?

"Smith said that prior to the domestic dispute, Bell was cheating on him.
That’s right, Smith was being cuckolded by a quadruple amputee. That can’t be good for the self-esteem. He turned on the TV and Bell got mad, he says. She punched him in the groin with her deadly nub and then proceeded to dowse him in urine from a bed pan." [Full story]

Jacoby, you are one sick dude.

What kind of sick freak would fight a quadriplegic? And then try to brush it off as if "she's a Street Fighter Cripple"?

As for the wingnuts, what ever. Let their craziness run its course, and they'll all end up in jail.

Lets see.... the word of an elder statesman/civil rights icon, backed up by several others vs the word of a right wing manipulator who has already put out one misleading, discredited video (the acorn pimp) and now this video that was not taken at the time of the incident being promoted by the same said manipulator.... This is a no brainer. And I mean that literally. Anyone that takes this guy seriously has no brain.

As to your sidebar HHNOTD.... I am friends with a wonderful woman who it running for the Texas State Board of Education. Filled Negro:

THE TEA PARTY IS A "RACIST MOVEMENT".

They don't like BLACKS or that Negro Obama.

THERE YOU GO!!!!

I went to one of their meetings and left a bug in the room and then departed. When they saw my Black Azz leave - THEN they started to talk.

NOW LET ME ASK YOU FILLED NEGRO:

* Since Today More Black People Are Murdered in Incidents in which they are NOT called "Nigger" - at least not the "racist" version of it - WHAT HAVE YOU WON for our community with your new found knowledge about the Tea Parties?

* Since Chicago, Philly, Baltimore, Detroit and DC - all which are solidly Democratic/Progressive Cities with "favorable people" running their school systems - HAS THE PURGING of all "TEA PARTY surrogates" translated into radically improved academic outcomes for Blacks?

* If we go and plot out the places where that recent increase in Black Unemployment from 15.8% to 16.5% was engendered and we later find that no Tea Party gatherings were held in these places but instead in the suburbs - where unfortunately some Blacks have to venture out to for EMPLOYMENT because the places that they WON aren't producing enough jobs................................ again Filled Negro...........what have you WON per your expose' of this White Racist Tea Party guy?

Do you see Filled Negro you have indeed "WON" per what you have been advocating for. The problem is that your COMMUNITY has not "won" in kind.

What happens when your political activism becomes focused upon the MACHINATIONS that you have adopted as a means of obtaining your ORIGINAL OBJECTIVES all the while you have lost sight of your ORIGINAL OBJECTIVES for becoming politically active in the first place?

Can we both agree that when one reaches this state they have SOLD OUT - Filled Negro?

Do you ever look in the mirror and ask yourself "WHO IS THIS PERSON"?

Jody:

Did you see my blog where I drove into this ELDER STATEMAN'S CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT and filmed the crime scene where a Black woman had her head cut off?

Do you find it perverted that they WON control over these streets and now have their NAMES ADORNING THE STREET SIGNS - yet you focus on this man's WORDS about being called a "Nigger" by some nondescript White man but fail to see that HE HASN'T SAID A DAMNED THING about the fact that his district houses the "Most Deadliest Street In Atlanta" - a street named after a Civil Rights Icon that he walked with?

How did this WHITE PERSON'S WORD become so POWERFUL to you Jody?

Does he have POWER to legislate over your safety?

And here we go again. Yes, Deconstructive one, we are well aware of the issue of "street pirates" and the damage they're doing to our community. So you're basically saying that until we clean up this "street pirate" problem, we have absolutely no right to focus on racism or, better still, to blame Whites for any issue vis-a-vis our Black community that they are responsible for, directly or indirectly.

So therefore, the average Black man had better get used to him and his collegues being called "niggers"....at least until the "street pirate" problem is settled. But don't mind me -- I'm just trying to sort out your so-called "logic".

How freaky about the disabled woman and her boyfriend. I wonder if she really did abuse him with her nubs. It was wrong of him to beat her up point blank. If he was in a care taking capacity AND her boyfriend, that was a magma vent about to bubble up! Caretaking usually burns out the caretakers and takes their lives before their patients!

It should be a lesson to all of us that we have to be mentally, spiritually and emotionally ready when we knowingly take on challenges like this. I think the issue with the people turning in children they adopt is very similar. People think they can handle a human with issues and then realize that they cannot hang.

That is sad.

UnConn... stop it... I hope in your world outside of cyberspace that you are more interesting than you are here.... you are a one trick pony.

I have come to the conclusion that you think anyone and anything connected to government or elected officials are responsible for every bad thing that happens, which is supremely ironic since your solution is self reliance and the belief that John Dunn was indeed lyin when he said no man is an island. And, all that is good that government has done and is doing is beside the point and unacknowledged as far as you are concerned.

You seem incapable of understanding context, nuance, complexity... Seriously, you cannot look at every situation and say bad democrats, bad government... it is just stupid. You are just being stupid.

Mack Is Lying:

How do you LOGICALLY conclude this from my statements?

Here is the apex of your perversion.

As I listen to Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chasers I hear you all CLAIM that your agenda is centered upon the Black Community.

1) PROTECTING the people within
2) EDUCATING the people within
3) EMPLOYING the people within
4) Insuring that the people within have HEALTHY BODIES and RELATIONSHIPS.

Mack Is Lying - if this is your CLAIM then please tell me why you and Filled Negro focus so much on WHITE FOLKS? They are EXTERNAL to your core domain.

YOU fabricate a fake condition (don't do A until B is fixed). I did no such thing.

I am merely exposing the FRAUD that I observe based on my careful analysis of what can trigger a response out of you.

You see, Mack Is Lying - if the spittle from a nondescript WHITE MAN he helled can be called an assault upon a Black elected official and serve as PROOF that all WHITE FOLKS who show up at Tea Parties would like to SPIT up Black folks.........why is it out of line for me to observe your reaction to the ASSASSINATION of the Black Mayor of Washington Park? He dared to go out at night into a dangerous area to ensure that his constituents were being properly protected by the police which he commanded (when he was alive). Instead he was murdered by the very element that Maddow and Olbermann don't dare talk about. Instead they try to make the Negro Community fearful of what lurks among the White folks.

Now not just any White folks. CONSERVATIVE White folks. They have an extra chromosome that makes them hate Nigras.

Do you see Mack Is Lying - I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE A FAKE CONDITION CRAFTED BY YOU.

It is YOU, per your own CONSCIOUSNESS who should be able to see "Black people crying on the television news" and choose to be a strong and consistent voice for their support.

Jody - many protectors of the establishment back in the day saw Civil Rights leaders as ONE TRICK PONIES. Every time they came around they sought to get people RILED UP by not agreeing to have everyone stay on their own "side of the tracks".

Tell me one reason that I should not be the voice of the "Least Of These" Who Were Assaulted by people that Filled Negro is loathed to talk about EXCEPT when he gets tired of what is going on in Philly and beyond?

CF and the other right wing clowns, let me reveal something to you. Most of those 'progressive fundamentalists' you're talking about are working in their communities. Last time I checked, folks in the fields volunteer in their community and actively involved. Many folks on this board tutor.

And the main reason that the Diaspora is screwed up is that western government (especially Uncle Sam), and now wannabes like China, tend to prop up dictators and cause chaos when ever brown people work for self-determination. The last time Haiti began to build a working government again, the US and France orchestrated a coup.

With the exception of China, Japan (to a lesser extent) South Korea and India, name one non-European nation that isn't virtual slave or acting as proxy for the US, Western Europe, Russia or China?

You can't. Please stop pretending to know more than you do.

And by the way, having lived in the ghetto -- I'm less afraid of Leroy sling dope on the corner than crazy rednecks playing war games in the woods. 1) Look to France and the UK as REFERENCE MODELS for your social entitlements when - if we were talking about them in other contexts - you would be pointing out that they STOLE the wealth which afforded them to live at such a high standard of living from NON-EUROPEAN NATIONS

2) Why a young Black male born in 1990 has more of his consciousness rendered within him from the residue of SLAVERY rather than by the ADULTS who control the eco-system within which he lives? (Oh I forgot. THESE adults which brought him up were also casualties of Slavery)

3) Why in the places where you have WON what you had focused upon POLITICALLY - there still exists massive shortfalls. It sort of indicates that what you were focusing upon was something OTHER THAN your people's permanent interests. You are too bigoted to admit this.

i don't pay much attention to the SCLM ("so called Liberal Media). stuff like the topic of this post is why. i have lost count of the number of times bloggers and friends of mine in politics have revealed that an "important" story in the media is actually completely false or somehow manipulated to favor a conservative view. the Wash Post, the NYT, the LATimes, my local papers, most of the TV "news" programs- all guilty of this. i hope everyone here knows about a website called "media matters." look it up, you'll be glad you did.

the media is little more than a bullhorn for rich and powerful (and mostly white) interests. it exists for the purpose of keeping our attention focused on what they want, instead of what truly matters to most of us. my biggest complaint about our community today is that far too many black and brown people spend far too much time watching tv or consuming corporate media. turn it off. if people want to spend money on the news, they should spend it on black owned news outlets. on the web, i like Black Agenda Report. in print, i like locally owned and produced black papers like the Michigan Chronicle. i like blogs like this one.

but whatever the hell Andrew and his fellow conservatives are lying about today? meh. it's a fake "controversy" and of course the right wingers are lying about the details. water is wet, the sky is blue, etc. it should surprise no one, nor is it worth our attention. Anti-progrssive is a good thing. It allows people to live free and prosper, whereas in "progressive" societies, they are slaves mired in poverty. Compare the standard of living in today in say, Chile, to say, Cuba.

Please stop putting up political straw men in Cuba. As if Cuba is supposed to be the great liberal failure. Most sane liberals are very vocal on the suppression of human rights in Haiti.

And your example is just plain stupid. How did Chile fare after their earthquake compared to Haiti?

According to a World Bank report in 2006, "In Haiti, the process of business regulations is complex and customs procedures are lengthy." On average, opening a business took 204 days. For comparison, the average was 73.3 days in Latin America and 16.3 days in OECD countries. It took estimated 5 years and 65 bureaucratic procedures for a private person to buy land from the state. It took 683 days to register a property. All Latin American and Caribbean countries except Cuba and Venezuela enjoyed much more economic freedom than Haiti on the Index of Economic Freedom of 2006.

Cile, in contrastis rated the most free economy in Latin America. It benefits from a free market system put in place by Augusto Pinochet, a right-wing strongman who ... unlike Marxist dictators like Castro, Mugabe, Kim Jong-Il, and Chavez... left power voluntarily. (He also did not squander Chile's resources trying to export revolution to other countries.) Chile not only has an open free market economy, it also has a privatized system of social security, and a flat tax.

In other words, Chile is the Republican model. Not Haiti.

When an evil conservative dares to remove the redistributionist polices which afforded the ARTIFICIAL STANDARD OF LIVING - why is this any surprise.

The proper rebuttal, Anon, is to ask our Progressive-Fundamentalist friends to document the COMPETENCIES that are developed among "The Least Of These" after they are provided with the "Progressive Treatment" for one o two generations which afford the more immunity to the whims of the evil conservatives who DON'T LIVE IN THEIR DISTRICT.

Wrong again!

Most of the "economic recovery" was due to the end of the economic boycott by the US. And the Chicago Boys system didn't actually owrk in the country until the 1990 reforms which included a liberal dose of social engineering -

Amartya Sen, in his book Hunger and Public Action examines the performance of Chile in various economic and social indicators. He finds, from a survey of the literature on the field:

The so-called "monetarist experiment" which lasted until 1982 in its pure form, has been the object of much controversy, but few have claimed it to be a success...The most conspicuous feature of the post 1973 period is that of considerable instability...no firm and consistent upward trend (to say the least).

From the period 1970-1985, there was no growth in per-capita GDP, a decline in real wages by 20% and an (overall) increase unemployment from 6% to 14%.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — It's time that mustached Americans got in on the stimulus money. At least that's the proposal being pushed by tax policy professor John Yeutter and the St. Louis-based American Mustache Institute. The tongue-in-cheek group dubs itself "the world's only facial hair advocacy and research organization."

On the eve of the deadline to file income tax returns, the professor and the AMI are pushing for a $250 annual tax incentive for people with mustaches. The funds would be used for mustache grooming supplies.

Looks like Brietbart might have to pay off after all. His video rebuttal has been called into question.

From the AP:

"A reconstruction of the events shows that the conservative challenges largely sprang from a mislabeled video that was shot later in the day.

Breitbart posted two columns on his Web site saying the claims were fabricated. Both led with a 48-second YouTube video showing Lewis, Carson, other Congressional Black Caucus members and staffers leaving the Capitol. Some of the group were videotaping the booing crowd.

Breitbart asked why the epithet was not captured by the black lawmakers' cameras, and why nobody reacted as if they had heard the slur. He also questioned whether the epithets could have been shouted by liberals planted in the crowd.

But the 48-second video was shot as the group was leaving the Capitol — at least one hour after Lewis, D-Ga., and Carson walked to the Capitol, which is when they said the slurs were used.

Questioned about using a video on his Web site from the wrong moment, Breitbart stood by his claim that the lawmakers were lying.

"I'm not saying the video was conclusive proof," he said."

That's because Carson's original story changed. He clearly stated the slurs were heard as left the Cannon building. It was only later, when video evidence emerged that seemed to contradicit his story did the time of the incident change.

What up Field I read about the crazy guy attacking his woman. Suffice it to say that there are some crazy folks in our society.

I noticed some posters don't need facts to make their points. There are some whoppers on this one. And CF, Lord have mercy, for those who were looking for backward crap to support their racist ideas, he gave them plenty ammo.

LAC- I think you hit CF on the head. He tries too hard too sound intellectual, which makes it obvious that he is not. And then to make matters worse sometimes he makes no sense at all, or you have to read and re-read to get his point.

But I do get CF's point he is an enemy of humankind. His ideas about the black community are all the blame the victim kind. He continues to pretend that black folks have real economic power in Metro areas of the US. He should come out and say that what he really thinks. Since there is no explanation for black inner city violence and according to him, it has nothing to do with their conditions or oppressive, discriminatory measures, then they must be predisposed to it at birth.

And Blacks are not the economic power structure in any major metropolis that I can think of in the US.

However he is right about liberal policies not remedying the conditions that plague our inner cities.

I keep telling you all CF is not just backwards but he really doesn't care about people whether they are black white or whatever and he really has a disdain for poor people.

How else can you explain his constant ranting against anything that resembles change and his rantings against efforts to acquire justice and empowerment for who he sneeringly refers to as "the least of these?"

No you don't. I am not defending dictatorships of any kind, but the fact is Pinochet's left a better functioning society than any socialist state has.

And I would argue the point as to who is "misinformed" here. I actually read tings from both sides of the debate. Tooo many poster shere simply dismiss any information that might threaten their pre-conceptions.

mellaneous said...

Anon said:

"I am not defending dictatorships of any kind, but the fact is Pinochet's left a better functioning society than any socialist state has."

Anon actually I am trying to hear your point. Its why I said that I thought I knew where you were coming from.

I would think that if you are coming from simply a pure economic standpoint this would make sense.

From a raw free marketer perspective you have a point. Capitalist while wrapping themselves in democratic propaganda in actuality loathe real democracy.

In fact they disdain anything that tries to put a brake on their profit making, especially anything that keeps them from totally underpaying and squeezing every drop of labor from its workers.

So you're unregulated, unfettered capitalism is good for business. But talk to working class Chileans and see what they really think.

But socially it was a disaster. People in Chile are still suffering from the evils (murders, torture and repression that occurred when Pinochet took power.

And remember I think you talked earlier about "freedoms" that the Chilean's were experiencing.

Did you forget that Pinochet operated a dictatorship? And that "freedom's" were severly curtailed.

And Chile was functioning much better socially and politically before Pinochet stole power.

I mean I really don't understand how you can say this in light of murderous upheaval that occurred. And you have to be the one who has a closed mind to actually postulate something like this.

I mean for you to say this as "fact" is to be honest kind of scary.

And if you try to sell this to most working class Chileans you better be prepared to defend yourself and I don't just mean your defense of his defenseless dictatorship.

mellaneous said...

And another thing Anon on Chile. It just occurred to me that you are crediting Pinochet with straightening up an economy that he almost ruined.

While he and the rightist and the capitalist bemoaned the changes that Allende wrought they had to re-implement some of his ideas.

And speaking of Chile and Pinochet why don't you tell the readers who helped overthrow a democratically elected government led by Allende.

That's right the good old USof A thanks to the FOI the files are there for folks to view. US imperialism doesn't want anyone to see that capitalism isn't the only system and that given a real chance many socialist ideas actually work. If they are all that why do they have to meddle in other folks affairs if capitalism was the best system for Chile it would have shown it on its own. But the people voted with their feet and the US undermined them.

And anon you do realize that they actually have a form of universal health care in Chile. And don't forget their main export, copper has been nationalized for some time. Isn't that a socialist idea?

When the Minority's Protest, it is for Righteousness sake, have you ever known a Minority to protest against anything, that will benefit the well being of HUMAN BEING'S? NO!!!! that is not in the Nature of the Minority, we know about Pain and Suffering, now, I am not saying the white race is obsolete, when it come's to suffering in America, but, what do we have to go on, very very little!

The TEA PARTY is a DISGRACE before GOD, they can roam around America to try to JUSTIFY their behavior, but, at the end of the day, they are WRONG! why? because, if the HEALTH CARE BILL is wrong, then the MAJORITY of Black people are wrong, for NOT SUPPORTING the TEA PARTY MOVEMENT! so are we WRONG? have we missed something? if so, why don't we just over look, the RACIAL code word's and join the TEA PARTY MOVEMENT? after all, they say they are NOT RACIST!!!

Facinating since when a few LEADERS of the African American CHurch, Nation of Islam, NAACP, Black COngressional Caucaus, etc get caught making some very anti-hay, anti-semetic, anti-asian, or mysogynistic slurs no one says it reflects on everyone. The black church doesn't consider itself to be accountable to Jeremiah Wrights bigotry, so why should the Tea Party people have to be apologists for what a few of their people did. Nation of Islam has had more than a few murders yet NOI aren't all slurred as murderers as a result. Jesse Jackson called NY Hymietown yet I don't see everyone he associates with being called anti-semetic as a consequentce. Even he regained title "anti racist leader". If people want to get all in arms about use of the N word it is 100% certain Jesse Jackson has used it along with threatening to casterate Obama. Go after him and his supporters, Oppps I forgot- the people who are complaining ARE him and his supporters

If he decided to kill himself over this, that's HIS problem, not mine or anyone else's. He was disciplined for his actions, and he couldn't deal with it. AP Admits Rep. Heath Shuler Did Not Hear Tea Party Racial Slurs...After WSJ Writer Investigates

James Taranto did the actual investigation into the story..

By P.J. GLADNICK
From the Media Research Center

Oops!

On the heels of a story a couple of days ago which used Congressman Heath Shuler as a source about how racial slurs were probably hurled at the Washington, D.C. Tea Party on March 20, the Associated Press has been forced to backtrack.

Here is how AP writer Jesse Washington used what Heath Shuler supposedly heard to promote the idea of a Tea Party chock full of racists:

A fourth Democrat, Rep. Heath Shuler of North Carolina, who is white, backed up his colleagues, telling the Henderson (N.C.) Times-News that he heard the slurs.

Unfortunately for Mr. Washington's premise, this little fiction has now been undone by Shuler himself. Here is the AP correction:

Rep. Heath Shuler is denying a report that he heard racial slurs yelled from a crowd of angry health care protesters outside the U.S. Capitol.

On March 20, black Democratic congressmen John Lewis, Andre Carson and Emanuel Cleaver said they heard the N-word as they walked to the Capitol to vote on health care. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., who is gay, said he was called an anti-homosexual slur.

On March 23, the Hendersonville (N.C.) News-Times published an interview with Shuler, D-N.C. The story said Shuler was walking with Cleaver and heard racial epithets. The Associated Press, after Shuler's office did not return phone calls or e-mails, quoted the News-Times report Wednesday in a story on the controversy over whether racial slurs had been shouted.

And who did the initial investigation to find out what Heath Shuler actually heard? The AP? Nope. It was James Taranto of The Wall Street Journal.

The AP was merely playing catchup on its own story.

Here is what Taranto reported on his investigation:

It may be the most celebrated missing recording since Watergate: the nonexistent or unaccounted-for video of the tea-party protesters at the Capitol who three black congressmen claim yelled racial slurs at them on March 20, the eve of ObamaCare's enactment.

Jesse Washington, who covers the race beat for the Associated Press, tries to get to the bottom of things. Although he falls well short of establishing the truth or falsehood of the allegation, he comes up with some interesting findings along the way.

First, there turns out to have been at least one report of a corroborating witness to the alleged slurs. Washington notes that in its March 23 edition, the Hendersonville (N.C.) Times-News published this interview with Heath Shuler, the local congressman, a Democrat who voted against ObamaCare.

...But when we phoned Shuler's office this afternoon, press secretary Julie Fishman told us the local reporter misunderstood. According to Fishman, Shuler's comments to the Times-News referred to the general tenor of the protests, not to the black congressmen's specific allegations.

Fishman said that Shuler was not walking with Cleaver and did not hear the "N-word."

So Taranto did the actual investigation into the story. The AP was merely playing catchup.

Meanwhile we still await the investigation by the Kansas City Star into allegations of racial slurs being invoked at that Tea Party.

Their Readers Representative, Derek Donovan, recommended such an investigation a couple of weeks ago but the crickets continue to chirp over there. Even though, as Taranto proved, it isn't tough to get to the bottom of the story, the Kansas City Star remains in the snooze mode.

Time to break out of the cocoon, Donovan, and get on this story.
