I am getting ready to watch president Obama's farewell speech.Regardless of what you thought of the man's policies, you have to admit that he carried himself with dignity and grace while in office, and that he, along with his family, was scandal free.
Which leads me, once again, to our president-elect and the following story:

The dossier, which is a collection of memos written over a period of months, includes specific, unverified, and potentially unverifiable allegations of contact between Trump aides and Russian operatives, and graphic claims of sexual acts documented by the Russians. CNN reported Tuesday that a two-page synopsis of the report was given to President Obama and Trump.
Now BuzzFeed News is publishing the full document so that Americans can make up their own minds about allegations about the president-elect that have circulated at the highest levels of the US government.
The document was prepared for political opponents of Trump by a person who is understood to be a former British intelligence agent. It is not just unconfirmed: It includes some clear errors. The report misspells the name of one company, “Alpha Group,” throughout. It is Alfa Group. The report says the settlement of Barvikha, outside Moscow, is “reserved for the residences of the top leadership and their close associates.” It is not reserved for anyone, and it is also populated by the very wealthy.
The Trump administration’s transition team did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News’ request for comment. However, the president-elect’s attorney, Michael Cohen, told Mic that the allegations were absolutely false.
“It’s so ridiculous on so many levels,” he said. “Clearly, the person who created this did so from their imagination or did so hoping that the liberal media would run with this fake story for whatever rationale they might have.”[Story]
Of course the most interesting part of the whole story is this little tidbit:

I think the point the intelligence officials were trying to make with this "raw" information is that this is the sort of thing the Russians do, have always done, and are still doing. This report may be fundamentally ridiculous but don't doubt that they have others which may not be, and their position as allies of Trump could put him in an easily compromised position when it comes time to talk turkey.
Also, any sex acts that include Donald Trump are by definition degrading. even to the farm animals involved.

Serious reporters have been unable to verify any of this stuff, and it apparently is something of a statement by the intelligence officers Trump has been slandering lately to think twice (or in Trump's case at all) before fucking with them. As in if you think Breitbart is good at making up damaging lies, think about the CIA for a minute. Or tell one of your toadies to, as sixty seconds of anything is a lot to ask of Trumpie-poo.

After watching Obama's historic speech, none of this seems very important. The best we can hope to get out of it is a criminal conviction of Trump for high treason. At a glance, it sounds like bullshit. I could think of some better hard-core, perverted shit with some Russian bitches than that.
None of this matters right now. Obama has been our captain. He has shown leadership balanced with restraint. He has furthered the ideals of the democratic party without ever impugning the opposing party. He has helped to guide the change that was in all of us. Now all that we have to do is hope that good people are smart enough to vote next time around.
Obama has earned his place in the Valhalla of great presidents. It is clear that the next president will simply be a hopeless clown who will make GWB appear a great statesman.
Watch, read and listen to the speech as many times as you can. Internalize it. Just stay off of the perpetual bullshit/news cycle for the next one hundred days. Go forth to do righteousness.

After watching Obama's historic speech, none of this seems very important
I was mildly disappointed by his speech. He had a few good points about the need for people to get out of their tribal bubbles, but I thought it was mainly a lot of self-congratulatory mush. To be fair, most political speeches are the same, but I was hoping for something more profound.
There were a couple of clunkers in there, such as his climate change reference, and his claiming credit for a supposed lack of terror attacks here. Yeah, there hasn't been another 9/11, but there has obviously been enough going on both here and in Europe for it to be non-credible for Obama to tout a lack of another attack by a terror organization, as opposed to lone wolves, as a success.
Past that, I had hoped that Obama would've chosen a different setting for his final speech. He basically staged another campaign rally in front of a fawning audience in Chicago, which reminded me a lot of Trump's cheesy victory, er, "thank you" tour in December.
I think both Trump and Obama were pretty undignified. I expect it out of Trump, a rodeo clown who's hooked on fame and applause, but I'd been looking for Obama to rise about all that. Oh well.
AND, in other well timed irony, the law firm advising CJ on his conflicts, by pure coincidink, is Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, which has been named “Russia Law Firm of the Year” for 2016 by law profession directory Chambers & Partners for its “high-profile” work in Russia.

It is time to start construction on Trump Tower Levenworth. Alcatraz is a closed federal penitentiary.
