The Mole.

I am so sorry to see that they found the mole over at the news network for dummies. (No, not the mole looking guy in the pic. That's actually their leader.) We could have learned a lot from that guy.

Now FOX is threatening legal action. God forbid someone tells us what we have known all along: that their news is manufactured by republican political operatives who feed them talking points for their on air staff.

"I think their legal accusations are completely baseless," Muto said on CNN. "They're trying to intimidate me into silence because I'm revealing unflattering information about the inner workings of the company.
He added:
"I'm not a sociopath, Howard. I don't want to make it sound like I worked there for eight years with a chip on my shoulder, and I hated everyone. There's a lot of, you know, really nice, you know, people who I really like and respect. So, those people, if I hurt any of them, I apologize to them. But I felt the need to speak out because my story--my story had to be told. I couldn't--I couldn't be in that building one day longer without, you know, exploding."
I have to give Gawker credit for at least giving it the old college try.  It would have been nice to know what goes on behind closed doors. The FOX crew must have been working overtime to catch this guy. And, catch him they did.

Mr. Muto should be counting his blessings. Maybe mow he can go on to be a real journalist.

Finally, I have to have a last word about Flipper and this mommygate controversy.

“I wanted to increase the work requirement,” Romney said. “I said, for instance, that even if you have a child two years of age, you need to go to work. And people said, ‘Well that's heartless,' and I said ‘No, no, I'm willing to spend more giving daycare to allow those parents to go back to work. It'll cost the state more providing that daycare, but I want the individuals to have the dignity of work.’” [Source]

So, in essence, what he is saying is that there is no "dignity" in being a stay at home mother.

But republicans pounced on this non-issue when a democratic operative basically said that Ann Romney can't relate to working mothers out there because she had never worked a day in her life.

I know that Flipper and his wife would like to, but they just can't have it both ways.

The truth of the matter is that Ann Romney cannot relate to poor and middle class women who have to raise their children and work for a living. So she shouldn't even pretend that she knows how to do it for the sake of her husband's endless quest to occupy the White House. It's just flat out wrong.
Yes Ann, raising kids is hard work, but I am sure it helps when you have a bunch of maids around the house and a few million large ones sitting in a bank account.

That's what Hilary Rosen was trying to say, and if folks had taken the time to listen and process what she said instead of jumping into partisan mode, they would have heard her loud and clear.

As others have said, Hilary Rosen committed a "mortal sin of American politics: "She spoke the truth with a microphone on."

The "varmint" hunter speaks.

I hope that the manufactured controversy about Ann Romney and her working woman cred is finally coming to an end. In my humble opinion Hilary Rosen was right. But what do I know? I am not a gazillionaire and I don't have kids. Wingnuts, this is not how you stop your war on women. Creating a false controversy and feigning outrage over this issue will not hide the facts.

Anyway, tonight I want to talk about some much more important things that have been happening in our country while the mainstream media and the chattering class focused on mommygate.

In case you haven't noticed, A-merry-cans have been slaughtering each other at an alarming rate. Take your pick: New Hampshire, New Jersey, California, and Ohio, (In a Cracker Barrel restaurant of all places.) Sanford, Florida....I could go on, but if you go into every one of those links that I have provided you will have more than enough material to keep you busy for awhile. Tragically, in two of those cases, men whose job it is to protect us lost their lives as well.

Ironically, the NRA is having their annual meeting in St. Louis, and Flipper actually addressed his so called gun loving friends and hunting buddies today. (Even though he only mentioned guns once. It's general election time. Let the flipping begin.) Of course Ann was by his side. It's the female vote stupid. Flipper told the crowd that Obama would restrain their Second Amendment freedoms, and (I am paraphrasing here) that he would take their god given rights to their guns from their praying hands. I am sure that this went over well with these geniuses. From what I have been reading they don't seem to be too bright.

The thing is, much to my dismay, Obama is actually more pro gun than Flipper.
Unfortunately for you gun loving winguts, -like everything else with Flipper- when it comes to this subject he is a fraud.

Finally, speaking of guns; according to some influential republican money people Obama should be speaking from behind bulletproof teleprompters.

"During an appearance on Fox Business Network Wednesday, Foster Friess--the billionaire backer of former Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum--said he hopes President Obama's "teleprompters are bulletproof."

"There are a lot of things that haven't been hammered at because Rick and Mitt have been going at each other," the retired mutual fund manager said before he made his comment directed at the president. He later told ABC News that he regretted his words immediately after he said them." [Source]

Sure he did. * side eye*

"If I had a son he would look like Trayvon."

O, you might end up like Trayvon of some of these folks have their way.

"Girl Fight"

I am not going to comment on the you know who case tonight. Mr. Killerman has been arrested and now it's time for our system of justice to play itself out. That's all those of us who care about real justice in this country ever wanted in the first place. Sadly, all of my "color aroused" friends are in a choleric state right now. To them this was about black versus white. To the rest of us, on the other hand, this was always about doing the right thing.

Thankfully, the "Sunshine" Law is in full effect in Florida, so we will be able to see this trial play itself out in HD.

Anyway, I heard that Mrs.Romney was on Fox & Friends this morning, and she was not too pleased about Hilary Rosen calling her out for never having a real job. Wngnuts are trying their best to manufacturer a scandal, and Hilary Rosen will be taking the New Black Panther's place for the next few weeks.

"She should have come to my house when those five boys were causing so much trouble,' Ann Romney laughed.

' I know what it's like to struggle, and if maybe I haven't struggled as much financially as some people have, I can tell you and promise you, that I've had struggles in my life,' she added.

Rosen's comments have sparked an uproar among Republicans, who have called on Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to apologize on Rosen's behalf for the comments, which they're casting as an "affront to mothers everywhere."

I need a break! Struggle? Mrs. Romney, with all due respect, "struggling" is having to get up at five in the morning and catch three buses to the suburbs to clean old people's shit for $10 an hour, while you have three minor kids at home and no other income but your own in the damn house. That's a f*&^%*g struggle!

I love how conservatives embrace "stay at home" moms who can afford it. Unfortunately poor women who have to raise their children AND work get no such love from the Richie Rich crowd.

"This is not about Ann Romney. This is about the waitress in a diner in some place in Nevada who has two kids whose day care funding is being cut off because of the Romney/Ryan budget and she doesn't know what to do," Rosen said in a follow-up CNN interview. "Does Mitt Romney have a vision for bringing women up economically and can he himself stop referring to his wife as his economic surrogate? That's an important thing. He's the one that keeps doing this. Not me."

Yes, that waitress in the diner has to work. Welfare reform made sure of that.  Case workers want to see these stay at home mothers working, and Ann, I am afraid that taking care of your boys would not count as work in their eyes.

Hopefully, wingnuts can calm down now. Rosen has apologized and even his Oness, always the gentleman, has come to Mrs. Romney's defense.

"It was the wrong thing to say," Obama declared, standing up for Republican rival Mitt Romney's wife with Democrats suddenly on the defensive over women's issues for the first time this election year.

Obama, in an interview with WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio, also called the "ill-advised statement" by consultant Hilary Rosen "not something that I subscribe to."

"Moreover, my general rule is you don't talk about the spouses of elected officials because they have a really tough job. They're out there supporting their husband or wife who has chosen to serve in the public eye. I think they're off limits."

Congrats on the high road O, but you should hear how they talk about your wife. Besides, Hilary was right.
