The KKK president.

    I am not sure what all the fuss is about this Michael Wolff book about Mr. trump.

I mean let's face it, everything in the book only confirms what those of us with half of a brain already knew about the man.

Still, what  I found most fascinating was the revelation about his views when it comes to the Klan.
(We already know how the Klan feels about him.)

"After a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, President Donald Trump privately rationalized why someone would join the KKK, suggesting the racist group doesn’t believe what it used to, a book published this week with insider details on the Trump White House claims.

In Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, author Michael Wolff wrote that when Trump finally addressed the August 2017 rally—saying “racism is evil” and that the KKK and other groups that cause violence around it “are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans”—it was “a reluctant mini-grovel,” and the president “was clearly reading forced lines.” 

After his KKK remarks, Trump got on Marine One and spewed his actual beliefs while traveling.

"Privately, he kept trying to rationalize why someone would be a member of the KKK—that is, they might not actually believe what the KKK believed, and the KKK probably does not believe what it used to believe," Wolff wrote. "And, anyway, who really knows what the KKK believes now? In fact, he said, his own father was accused of being involved with the KKK—not true. (In fact, yes, true.)."As Wolff notes, Trump’s father, Fred Trump, was arrested after a KKK riot in Queens, New York, in 1927." [Source]

Does your president-elect use the N-word?

I just read that there is an alleged tape of of herr trump using the N- word a few years back while he was living his celebrity life.

This, of course, is not a big deal to trumpsters. In fact, I suspect that it would have gotten him more votes in certain quarters if live footage of him dropping the N- bomb were to be revealed. "I love that trump guy. He is not politically correct. He tells it likes it is."    

Anyway, you always have to consider the source, and in this case the source is none other than Tom Arnold. I loved the guy in True Lies, but I am not sure if he is the most trustworthy fellow out there. 

 "In the wake of the infamous Access Hollywood “grab ’em by the pussy” hot mic moment that nearly tanked President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign in October, there were reports that outtakes from Trump’s old show The Apprentice held even more embarrassing material, such as the real estate mogul using racial slurs and making extremely offensive remarks.

In fact, with producer Mark Burnett threatening to sue anyone who released any leaked video footage, you had folks like billionaire Mark Cuban offering to cover the $5 million legal penalty. Alas, nothing extremely damaging ever got released from Trump’s time as Apprentice host. But, it appears that at least one person says the footage exists and that he actually has it.

Last week, comedian and actor Tom Arnold told a radio show in Seattle that he has “the outtakes to The Apprentice where he says every bad thing ever, every offensive, racist thing ever…I have that.”
And if you were wondering if Arnold was joking, he told host Dori Monson that the main reason he hasn’t released anything is because of the “$5 million confidentiality agreement” that will hit the editors and associate producer who sent out the tape.  

However, that didn’t stop him from saying what is in the show’s outtakes.

Hundreds of people have seen these. It was sort of a Christmas video they put together. He wasn’t going to be President of the United States. It was him sitting in that chair saying the N-word, saying the C-word, calling his son a retard, just being so mean to his own children. Oh, this is so funny, this is this guy.

Tom Arnold is friends with the new host of The Celebrity Apprentice, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The two starred in the 1994 blockbuster True Lies. He also told the show that Schwarzenegger’s agent wanted him to release the tape in an effort to help Hillary Clinton.

For his part, Arnold doesn’t think the tape’s release would’ve hurt Trump in the end, saying that he thinks it would have made people like him more for being “politically incorrect.” [Source]

Sadly, like trump's tax returns and his medical records, we will probably never see trump going all KKK  on video anytime soon. Now, more than ever, he will be protected, and if there is such a video out there, it will be guarded over like the man himself.

Speaking of guarded, there is talk out there that Herr trump is will be bringing in his own private security force to Washington when he becomes president. I guess he will need them along with the Secret Service to go after the nasty press that he hates so much.

 "President-elect Donald Trump has continued employing a private security and intelligence team at his victory rallies, and he is expected to keep at least some members of the team after he becomes president, according to people familiar with the plans.

The arrangement represents a major break from tradition. But Trump — who puts a premium on loyalty and has demonstrated great interest in having forceful security at his events — has opted to maintain an aggressive and unprecedented private security force, led by Keith Schiller, a retired New York City cop and Navy veteran who started working for Trump in 1999 as a part-time bodyguard, eventually rising to become his head of security.

Security officials warn that employing private security personnel heightens risks for the president-elect and his team, as well as for protesters, dozens of whom have alleged racial profiling, undue force or aggression at the hands of Trump’s security, with at least 10 joining a trio of lawsuits now pending against Trump, his campaign or its security.

“It’s playing with fire,” said Jonathan Wackrow, a former Secret Service agent who worked on President Barack Obama’s protective detail during his 2012 reelection campaign. Having a private security team working events with Secret Service “increases the Service’s liability, it creates greater confusion and it creates greater risk,” Wackrow said." [Source]

I don't think that trump worries too much about the confusion and chaos that he is creating with these moves. I think he knows exactly what he is doing and he has a master plan in place

"When keeping it real goes wrong."

  I read an interesting post over at Siditty's blog and I thought that  I would share it with you.

If you are a hard working field Negro and you have achieved some success in your life, I believe that you can relate to what she is writing about.

"We all know that in America they way whites obtain success and black people obtain success are two different things. Hard work, nepotism, social class, and white privilege are keys to white success. For black people it is hard work, advanced education, more experience, few or no mistakes in their career, and sheer luck.

Some blacks manage to get ahead. Some do it by assimilating into "mainstream culture", some manage to just work hard and move ahead, but for every black that manages to get ahead, there are others who never seem to make it. Lack of opportunities due to social class, educational opportunities, and the realization that to make it is almost impossible in some instances, keep many from succeeding.

When you do succeed, you still fail, because for all your hard work, and your ability to make it, there is going to be some who didn't make it who feel you turned your back on them. Black people are the only race of people who expect a person to become successful to "keep it real". The problem is that sometimes "keeping it real" goes wrong.

You can't expect someone to leave the ghetto to go to school, and then come back to the same damn ghetto and succeed. If you surrounded yourself with people in high school whose ambition in life it was to sling dope on the streets, you can't go back to that and do well. If your neighborhood was filled with men who hang out in front of the liquor store all day, you can't come back to that and do well. St. Ides is not going to help keep your brain cells in tact. So you can't kick it with the boys who drink St. Ides all day long. The only thing you can do is help those who don't do that. You can show a high school student the steps needed to take to get into college or vocational school, because their school won't or their parents just don't know. You can tell a elementary and middle school students the importance of an education, and what to do and where to go if they are struggling, or their parents can't or won't help them. You can tell some of those liquor store men about Job Corps and how to apply. You can tell families about resources available to them to help them get their loved one out of in front of the liquor store, but you cannot save everyone. You can only save those who want to be saved. To succeed, you cannot surround yourself with failure and negativity on a constant basis.

I hate to say this, but in this country we can't be exactly like white people and isolate ourselves into our own community. We need those white corporations, companies, and employers to get ahead until we can start our own businesses. I am not an advocate of isolation, but I do understand that in order to rebuild black communities, we need to look at forming successful black businesses, and right now we need to model ourselves after the traditional business model, and the only way to do that is to work for those companies, learn how they work, and then bring that back to the community. So yeah, we are going to have to "sell out" and go work for the white man so we can learn.

Another thing that irks me is if white people like a black person, that black person is automatically an Uncle Tom. Oprah can't help that white women love her. They like her because she doesn't seem like a threat. I think Oprah knows this, and she is knowing it all the way to the bank. One thing I will say is that Oprah sticks to her guns. She decided a long time ago she wasn't going to continue with the tabloid spin of her talk show when she first came out. Remember Oprah was the momma of the talk shows as we know them today, even Jerry Springer. Oprah used to be on par with the other talk shows. She used to have the KKK on her show spouting "white power". She had the black militants on her show as well. Did she let them duke it out on her show, let's keep it real, she still had some standards, but needless to say, she kept it a little trashy to keep up ratings. She hasn't had to go Jerry to keep her viewers, and the white woman loved has only recently waned, but think about it, we are 20 something years of the same show. She doesn't do a show to necessarily to appease them, if that was the case she would have had Sarah Palin on her show, instead she does shows that interest her, and let's face it over 20 years and several billions dollars more in worth, her interests have changed. I don't think Oprah has become a mammy to white woman, she is now showing her elevation in class, and sometimes she is out of touch. If I were a billionaire, I would dare say I might be a clad out of touch with the reality of the middle class on occasion as well. She has mammified the white women who love her, not become a mammy to them.

Living in the suburbs, the way you talk, managing to get out of a low income area, or never living in a low income area, becoming successful, and having white friends does not make you a sell out. What makes you a sell out is the mentality of thinking that you are somehow better than another person because you got lucky. Yes some people live in the ghetto because they are lazy, but take into consideration many or most aren't, and those that are lazy are dealing with generations of a mentality and surroundings that give them a sense of hopelessness. If you lose touch with humanity, that makes you a sell out.
Ultimately to become a success as a black person is almost a curse because you never ever truly fit in with your white co-workers and neighbors (they never forget about your blackness, and when they do, they actually notice it) and you don't fit in with the "down" black folk. You are on your own, hoping for the best. " [Source] 

Well of course "keeping it real" does not have to mean keeping it stupid.

You should work hard and aspire for all the finer things in life, but you should never lose sight of who you are in the world and what it took for you to get where you are.

This is not what we meant when we said that he should add some color to his campaign.

I thought that Donald trump was cool with "the African Americans". (It used to be "the blacks", but now that the general election is almost here, and he is leading the right-wingnut field, he has started his pivot to normalcy.)

You would think that Donald would be able to call on at least one of his African American friends to act as an apparel model for his campaign. *Stacey Dash jumping around shouting, me me me*  

I am guessing that with all the KKK love Donald has been getting lately, he decided that it was time for his campaign to get a little browner. (Hey, at least the didn't make the model orange.)

Of course some folks were not pleased with the coloring of the model, and they thought that it was just a calculated move by trump and his peeps to seem like they get brown love as well.

Taking off the hoods.

Let me start this post by saying I wish Anonymous Hackers good luck with their effort to expose the names of KKK members all over the country. It should be interesting to see some of the names on their list if they are successful.

Now, nearly a year after the grand jury elected not to indict Wilson, Anonymous wrote in a Wednesday blog post that it "will release, to the global public, the identities of up to 1000 klan members, Ghoul Squad affiliates and other close associates of various factions of the Ku Klux Klan across the Unites States."'

Oh ohhh.

I always thought that if you are going to be a member of a group like the KKK you should do so openly.

We need to know where you stand on the issues and have an open debate about our different positions as it relates to how the races should interact going forward in this country. Granted, your group has taken a public relations hit of late, but it's never too late to try and redeem yourself.

Everyone believes that the klan is made up of a bunch of dumb rednecks, maybe if some of their members removed their hoods and come clean it would reveal more "educated main stream" type folks. Heck there might even be a presidential candidate or two among the membership.

Finally, a word from one of my favorite black conservatives and FOX VIEWS pundits.

"Conservative Sheriff Warns That #BlackLivesMatter Will ‘Join Forces with ISIS’         

  

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke said on Twitter Tuesday that #BlackLivesMatter and ISIS would soon be working together to destroy America. 

Clarke is a frequent Fox News guest and a harsh critic of the #BlackLivesMatter protest group, calling them “garbage” and “subhuman creeps”. Liberals have responded in kind, with New York Daily News columnist Shaun King calling him an “Uncle Tom” and “a sellout” Monday."

No Shaun, Sheriff David is worse than an "Uncle Tom".  Sheriff David is a "slave -catcher." He is the type of Negro Mr. Charlie would ask to whip the slaves when he got too tired to do it himself, and he would be all too glad to oblige.

Anyway, what's amazing is that this man actually got elected to be the mayor of Milwaukee. Forget political  views for minute, the man is just plain stupid. "Black Lives Matter will join forces with Isis"? My lord! Somebody check for hoods in that man's closet.

Negroes don't jaywalk in Arizona, and the WGI just keeps on growing.

My friends over at Phxsoul.com tweeted about the following story earlier, and I need to know your take on it.


"An Arizona State University professor who was arrested by campus police last month is claiming self-defense, and the incident is getting a whole lot more attention now that 3TV has obtained video of it.

“The reason I’m talking to you right now is because you are walking in the middle of the street,” Officer Stewart Ferrin said to ASU professor Dr. Ersula Ore after stopping her near campus. She was crossing College Avenue, just south of Fifth Street.

But in less than a minute, the conversation quickly began to escalate.

“Let me see your ID or you will be arrested for failing to provide ID,” Ferrin said.

“Are you serious?” Ore asked.

“Yes, I am serious. That is the law,” Ferrin replied.

According to police reports, Ore said she was trying to cross College Avenue in the same fashion as several others trying to avoid construction.

“I never once saw a single solitary individual get pulled over by a cop for walking across a street on a campus, in a campus location. Everybody has been doing this because it is all obstructed. That’s the reason why,” Ore said to the officer. “But you stop me in the middle of the street to pull me over and ask me, 'Do you know what this is? This is a street.' ”

“Are you aware that this is a street?” Ferrin asked.

“Let me finish,” Ore said.

“OK, put your hands behind your back,” Ferrin said.

“Don't touch me,” Ore said. “Get your hands off me.”

Seconds later, things escalated even further.

“Put your hand behind your back. I’m going to slam you on this car. Put your hand behind your back,” Ferrin said.

“You really want to do that? Do you see what I’m wearing? Do you see?” Ore said.

She was wearing a black dress and after being "slammed" onto the car, she was wrestled to the ground. Her dress hiked up and her body was exposed.

While both Ore and Ferrin suffered some minor injuries, Ore was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer in addition to criminal damage and obstructing a thoroughfare. She intends to fight the charges.
Ore's attorney, Alane Roby, says Ore is claiming self-defense.


"She was exposed, told officer she was exposed," Roby said of her client while she was on the ground. "Her dress was up; the officer was reaching toward her anatomy. She felt uncomfortable with hands going there."


Professor Ore is an English professor whose research interests include cultural studies, according to ASU's website.

ASU released this statement to 3TV:

“ASU authorities have reviewed the circumstances surrounding the arrest and have found no evidence of inappropriate actions by the ASUPD officers involved. Should such evidence be discovered, an additional, thorough inquiry will be conducted and appropriate actions taken.

"Because the underlying criminal charges are pending, there is not much more we can say at this time. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office has reviewed all available evidence, including the police report, witness statements, and audio and video recordings of the incident, and decided to press criminal charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, refusing to provide identification when requested to do so by an officer, and obstructing a highway or public thoroughfare.”


True confessions, I am giving the po po a side-eye on this one for two reasons: The obvious racial dynamic, and the jay walking charge.


Now I get it, I live on the East Coast, so the whole jaywalking thing is not something that I can even relate to. I can't tell the last time a cop in Philly gave a ticket for jaywalking.


But sadly, here we are. Another "color aroused" confrontation gone wrong.


And keep in mind that we are talking about Arizona. We all know that they have some issues out there in Alabama West.


Some are questioning why the professor didn't just take the ticket and keep it popping. As black folks we are all supposed to know the rules, but I can understand if sometimes you just don't want to play along. Folks have day to day problems that can be exasperated by these types of events.


Anyway, what started out as a jaywalking ticket turned into an aggravated assault charge.


I will be following this story.


Then there is Rick Santorum, he doesn't think that it was such a bad idea if everyone didn't have an opportunity to vote back in the day.


I know that there are a lot of black conservatives out there, and I would really like one of them to justify that position for me.

Finally, I know that Philly is the city of brotherly love, but poor Bill Walters isn't feeling any love from his neighbors.


Bill believes that he is being discriminated against because he is a member of the Klan. Yes Bill, in America, Klansmen have rights as well. It's just that your neighborhood watch friends have rights as well, and they just don't think it's a good look for you to be a part of their group right now.


"We are a conservative Christian group,” Walters said of the KKK. “My rights were infringed upon. I can’t believe in what I want to? This has infringed on my First Amendment rights. It’s reverse discrimination.” He has reached out the ACLU for support in a legal case against the neighborhood watch group, but they turned him down.


The town watch president Joe Nicoletti explained the decision to kick Walters out of the group, saying, “We received information that Bill had been distributing flyers in the neighborhood trying to recruit new members. And part of our bylaws state that members must promote harmony in the neighborhood, and we all know that harmony is not what the KKK is about.”


Walters insists that the KKK is not a hate group, saying, “I know we have a bad name, but it’s not that way no more.” For instance, he asked, “When was the last time a black or Hispanic got hung on a tree?” [Source]

But don't give up just yet, go back and work on your public relation skills.

My goodness, so many stories so little time.


Where does a blogger start?


Let me see now, I think I will start with Jim DeMint. He is the guy who quit being a politician to take the big bucks and run the right wing Heritage Foundation. It's a "think tank" (stop laughing) for right-wingnuts, and I am still trying to figure out what exactly they contribute to making our government run better.


Anyway, Jim had a curious thing to say about slavery:


"No liberal is going to win a debate that big government freed the slaves," Heritage Foundation president and former senator Jim DeMint told a radio host on Wednesday. And he's right, unless you consider the U.S. government circa 1865 a "big government.   

Well the reason that the slaves were eventually freed was the Constitution, it was like the conscience of the American people. ... But a lot of the move to free the slaves came from the people, it did not come from the federal government. It came from a growing movement among the people, particularly people of faith, that this was wrong. People like Wilberforce who persisted for years because of his faith and because of his love for people. So no liberal is going to win a debate that big government freed the slaves.

DeMint then continued. "In fact, it was Abraham Lincoln, the very first Republican," he said, "who took this on as a cause and a lot of it was based on a love in his heart that comes from God."

The Constitution? The same document that stated that black folks are three-fifths of a human being back then? "People of faith" in the South didn't think that slavery was wrong. They owned slaves, and they used their "faith" to justify it.


Then there is my man "Hammerin Hank". He has pissed off republicans (even Braves fans) with his recent comments about the racism behind the hatred of Barack Obama.


"Hank Aaron, who was celebrated Tuesday night in Atlanta on the 40th anniversary of breaking Babe Ruth's all-time home run record, compared Obama critics to the KKK as he opened up about the state of race relations in an interview with USA Today.


The Braves legend, who told the newspaper he still has the bigoted letters and death threats he received during his pursuit of one of baseball's most cherished records, said that little has changed despite the decades that have passed.


"The biggest difference is that back then they had hoods," Aaron said. "Now they have neckties and starched shirts." [Source]


"He is a racist! Typical black race-baiter. How can he dare say that when America has been so good to him?"


Get ready Hank, because it's coming. You are just lucky you are already in the Hall of Fame.


I know who will be all over Hank for "race baiting", the folks over at the GOP News network.


Race is always on their minds, because they know how to exploit it to appeal to their base.


This is why we get Freudian slips such as this:


"Fox News host Heather Childers was very excited to announce on Tuesday that the University of Connecticut Huskies were the new "NAACP National Champs." There was just one small problem: the Huskies are the new NCAA basketball champions, not the NAACP champions. That's...something else." [Source]


Well, you know, all those Negro players and all....


But race is not only on the minds of their news anchors, it's on the minds of their candidates for the United States senate as well.


"Republican Iowa Senate candidate Sam Clovis says President Obama’s race is standing in the GOP's way of their goal to impeach him.


A number of people in the House want to start the process, he said in an interview with The Daily Times Herald in Carroll, Iowa.


"And I think the reason that they're not is because they're concerned about the media," he said. 


The impeachment of former President Bill Clinton didn’t end well, Clovis added. 
“Now we have a situation where race is thrown into the cards as well," Clovis said. "Whether we like it or not, race is an issue." [Source]


My man is straight out of central casting for a Boss Hogg role. Let's send Mr. Clovis to Washington. We need more "colorful characters" (pun intended) like Sam.


Finally, I will end on a sad note.


That little girl (Lacy Holsworth) who was befriended by MSU basketball star, Adreian Payne, lost her battle with cancer.


Payne became close to the little girl, and their story is heartwarming and hopeful. This young man is a class act.


I have always had love for those Michigan State Spartans, because that's my father's Alma Mater, but now, because of this story, I love them even more.


I only wish that they could have gone all the way in the tournament to bring this little girl a little more joy before she passed away.


To the parents of this little girl I offer my condolences. To Adreian Payne I say thank you for restoring my faith in our young people, and for making me realize that there is hope for us all.  


"Words can't express how much I already miss Lacey. She is my sister, and will always be a part of my life. She taught me how to fight through everything with a smile on my face even when things were going wrong. I'm a better man because of her. … She said she first liked me because of my smile, but it's her smile that made America fall in love with her. … I know she's smiling and dancing in heaven right now. My princess is now an angel."










 





















   














 

Lighting up in North Carolina, and a president who lit up back in the day.

If there is a lack of comments after this post from from my wingnut friends tomorrow, it might be because most of them are in Reidsville, North Carolina for a big Memorial Day weekend bash. There is nothing like a little cross burning to bring friends together.

Anywhoo, I wish them luck with that. This is America, and they should be free to assemble as they please. As long as they are not being violent or breaking any laws, I say let them burn their crosses. (h/t Tia for this story)

Speaking of fire, it seems that our president liked to fire up the good collie weed back in the day. ("The Choom Gang"? I know I liked something about that dude) O even had rules for burning the collie. That sounds downright Rastafarian to me.  I bet Mitt didn't burn the collie weed back in the day. I know he spent some time in Paris, but he was on a mission from God, and the last time I checked Mormons didn't hit the blunt for inspiration.

Finally, it's time to attack black. My House Negro of the day is a woman named Wanette Gibson. She is the woman who lied about a budding football star raping her, and cost the young man five years of his life and a possible lucrative professional career.

"A woman who claimed that she was raped by a star high school football player -- sending him to prison for five years -- is not likely to be charged with making a false accusation, prosecutors said.

In the summer of 2002, Wanette Gibson accused Brian Banks, now 26, of rape. The two were students at Long Beach Poly High School. Rather than take the he-said-she-said case to trial and risk a 41-years-to-life prison sentence, Banks pleaded no contest to forcible rape, spent five years in prison and, after his release, was forced to register as a sex offender and wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.

"It's been a struggle, it's been a nightmare," he said. "It's more than I can describe, the things that I've been through."

Banks was considered a top college football prospect. A 6-foot-4, 225-pound middle linebacker, he had been courted by USC, UCLA and other football powerhouses, he said.

He asked the California Innocence Project for help, but with no new evidence there was little the organization could do.

Then, last year, the woman sent him a friend request on Facebook.
She felt guilty that he had lost out on going to college and playing football and had "a desire to make amends," Banks' attorneys said in court documents.

When Banks heard from her, he recalled, "I stopped what I was doing and got down on my knees and prayed to God to help me play my cards right."

She agreed to meet him and a private investigator. Their conversation was taped and Gibson said, "No, he did not rape me."

That admission set off an extraordinary chain of events that culminated Thursday morning. A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge dismissed Banks' conviction, ending 10 years of turmoil in a hearing that lasted less than a minute.

According to Banks and his private investigator, Gibson refused to tell prosecutors that she had lied, so that she wouldn't have to return the $1.5-million settlement her family won in court after suing the Long Beach Unified School District." [Source]

Now let's keep it real folks. If a white woman had falsely accused Brian Banks of raping her there would have been hell to pay. Yours truly would have been blogging about it for sure. The fact that he was taken down by a sister does not make this story any less tragic.

The sad thing about this story is that when women like Wanette Gibson lie about something as serious as rape, it makes it harder for the next victim who legitimately comes forward seem less believable.

The woman's family got 1.5 million to settle with the School District. It's a shame that Brian Banks couldn't have gotten some or all of that money.

Are some black intellectuals just as bad as the KKK? And can white liberals be racist?

I see that his Oness is continuing to kick ass on the "war on terror". If he was a republican the GOP boys would be calling for some modifications on Mount Rushmore right about now. Now if he can just get us some jobs here on the home front. 

Anyway, I will move on.

Maybe the fact that I like Melissa Harris-Perry so much is clouding my judgment with a story I saw about her recently. I have to agree with Elon James-White who wrote an article for News One about the subject:

 "Race in America is a difficult subject. When it comes to race America has the mental maturity of a 7 year old that, on occasion will plug its ears with its fingers and sing “La, la, la.” Being American and Negro I understand this. I don’t really have any choice but to understand it. I can’t decide that racial matters or discussions are silly because I’m actually affected. I can’t speak of it philosophically and talk racial theory because for me its NOT theory. I’m Black. This is real. End of story.

Last night I came across an article that I was so offended by that I reserved comment until I had a full nights sleep. I thought to myself that it was so insulting, so idiotic that it couldn’t be as bad as I was perceiving it to be. I needed to literally go to bed, take a mental break, and come back. That article was Gene Lyons “Obama’s Bridge too Far” on Salon.com. The article, a poorly thought out and terribly executed piece which wasn’t even cohesive as a whole should have been axed in the editorial process. But it wasn’t. Take a look.

This just in: Not all the fools are Republicans. Recently, one Melissa Harris-Perry, a Tulane professor who moonlights on MSNBC political talk shows, wrote an article for the Nation titled “Black President, Double Standard: Why White Liberals Are Abandoning Obama.”
See, nobody ever criticized Bill Clinton, another centrist Democrat who faced a hostile Republican congress. Indeed, he was “enthusiastically re-elected” in 1996. Therefore, “[t]he 2012 election is a test of whether Obama will be held to standards never before imposed on an incumbent. If he is, it may be possible to read that result as the triumph of a more subtle form of racism.”

You can like Dr. Harris-Perry’s theory or not, but 1) its a theory not an etched in stone condemnation and 2) it’s based in reality. It’s based in feelings many in the Black community have wondered when hearing attacks from White liberals. It’s based in issues that have been previously pointed out within the progressive movement. You could make the argument that race has nothing to do with White liberals issues with Obama and I wouldn’t have an issue with that. But to dismiss one of the great Black public intellectuals of our time because it made you feel uncomfortable is completely ridiculous.

And that’s the problem. Dr. Harris-Perry made folks feel uncomfortable.
White liberals enjoy the concept that they are immune to accusations of racism. They’re LIBERALS. They obviously are totally and completely not racist so how could you ever dare even pose the possibility of such a thing? Matter of fact? Since White liberals are so “obvi” not racist they can dismiss this feeling amongst Black folks as silly and tell them to stop it. You can even get all Dave Sirota on us and say how this hurts the civil rights movement. Because questioning the possibility of racism obviously makes equality harder right? Thanks sir!
But Mr. Lyons isn’t done.

The professor actually wrote that. See, certain academics are prone to an odd fundamentalism of the subject of race. Because President Obama is black, under the stern gaze of professor Harris-Perry, nothing else about him matters. Not killing Osama bin Laden, not 9 percent unemployment, only blackness.
Furthermore, unless you’re black, you can’t possibly understand. Yada, yada, yada. This unfortunate obsession increasingly resembles a photo negative of KKK racial thought. It’s useful for intimidating tenure committees staffed by Ph.D.s trained to find racist symbols in the passing clouds. Otherwise, Harris-Perry’s becoming a left-wing Michele Bachmann, an attractive woman seeking fame and fortune by saying silly things on cable TV. (emphasis mine)

Lyons actually wrote that. To question possible racism is to be the photo-negative of the KKK. To dare question White folks who were nice enough to treat you almost fairly is to be the Black equivalent of the KKK. And to possibly question race is only helpful in gaining tenure–because you know. Blacks and tenure at colleges? We gotta play that race card right? And PHD’s find race in everything. It’s not that they might have studied history and race long enough that they actually understand the systemic problems within our society based on race and privilege–they just see it in EVERYTHING. Silly educated people.

Lyons compared the Scholar Harris-Perry to the publicly mocked known idiot Michelle Bachmann. How did Lyons think that was going to work out? You mock the concept that as a White man you might not always understand everything about racism, then you degrade a brilliant Black mind and compare her to a wilful White idiot who has said websites full of dumb shit. Oh yeah. You’ve just won me over. White Liberals are sooooooo not racist." [Source]

Oh yes, liberals can be racist,too. I consider Mrs. Harris-Perry a friend, and there is nothing about her that says KKK to me. Nothing.

I suspect that Mr. Lyons knows this, (or maybe not) but let's be honest folks; some people just can't change who they are. It doesn't matter if their political ideology leans left or right.

"America is my country and Paris is my hometown."

I am quite sure that Gertrude Stein wasn't referring to Paris, Texas when she said those words.

There is plenty to see and do in Paris, France. The Ave Des Champs Elyses; The Louvre; a wine bar in the Entrants Rouge Market; the Le Marais District, I could go on and on. Paris, Texas, on the other hand, not so much. Unless you consider pick up truck, Negro dragging , something to do.

I know they have a Main Street, and apparently they have a farmer's market as well. (That's always nice) And, they have their very own civic center, named: (Get this) The Love Civic Center. Yep, I kid you not. THE LOVE CIVIC CENTER!

Maybe it's because they don't have much to do in Paris, Texas why black folks and white folks have been at each other's throats so much. Now, of course, this was before the beerfest and our teachable moment in A-merry-ca, so this post is probably obsolete. Right now as I type this post, some of those very folks who were screaming at each other across the side walk in the hot Texas heat, could be sipping ice tea and eating watermelon slices together while they watch Hee Haw reruns.

Just a couple of weeks ago the Panthers and the KKK were squaring off in the the republic of Texas in open defiance of the O man's post racial A-merry-ca. Thank god Skip Gates and Sgt. Crow[ley] came along. They were just in time to bring us all together.

Still, I can't only rip the people of Paris, Texas. Hell they have lots of things to do around here and in Boston and look how the racial harmony thing has been working out for us. Of course we didn't have any of our Negroes dragged to death like they did in Jasper and Paris, because that has not been designated a sport here yet. Not yet. We are still pretty much into our Eagles and Phillies, and I am sure the folks up in Boston love their Red Sox and Patriots as well. Of course, that could change. Maybe we just need folks up here to buy more pick up trucks.

First, let me say congratulations to "Stump" for winning the Super Bowl of dog shows up in New Yaawk. It couldn't have happened to a nicer Sussex spaniel. Yes folks, Uno's reign as the top dog is over.

Now a few words about my friends over at PETA: (Which I think stands for people for the ethical treatment of animals.) I know that black suffering is pretty much at the bottom of things that you are concerned about, given that there are so many poor little animals out there you have to advocate for. But it is not cool to dress in KKK garb in the middle of New York city to make a point about your four legged friends. It's just not. People have been lynched, burned, and hung by that white christian militia, and you trivialize their memory and their suffering with your poor choice of a costume for your protest.

But I told you Negroes where you stand on the food chain here in A-merry-ca. Do you really think that there could be a PETOBF (That would be people for the ethical treatment of black folks) protesting outside NFL and NBA games because they think the league is exploiting young black bucks for profit and entertainment? I don't! PETA is mad at AKC (All these acronyms. That's the American Kennel Club) for promoting the breeding of a "master race" of pooches. See the comparison? The KKK wanted a "master race" and so did the AKC. Wow, it's so simple when you break it down. I guess pretty soon "Stump" and his friends are going to burn down all those kennels where they keep stray dogs. Folks, hide your mutts, you wouldn't want them to be burned out of their dog house. (Look mommy there is a tiny cross on the lawn. Damn it, it's those damn dogs from the AKC again)

Let me stop, this shit isn't funny. There are some really twisted folks running PETA these days. And frankly, I am glad I wasn't up in New York to witness this shit, because I might have been very unethical in my treatment of those two clowns in front of the Garden.

"Obviously it's an uncomfortable comparison," PETA spokesman Michael McGraw told the Associated Press.

"Uncomfortable"? Is that what we are calling ignorant and insensitive these days? "Uncomfortable"? Nice. But this too will pass. I guess if PETA wanted to bring attention to their cause, this was a pretty good way to do it. If you look at it that way, I guess we could say mission accomplished. Now A-merry-ca, thanks to the use of some very offensive imagery, is aware of the AKC and their quest for a "master [pooch] race".

As a black person in A-merry-ca, let me be the first to tell PETA that I am glad we could help.

"Profile in courage"?

Poor Randy Gray, seems he is a little disappointed with his country for electing Barack Husein Obama to be its 44th president. Randy is a self-avowed member of the Klu Klux Klan and he is a very important man in Midland, Michigan. Yes, it seems that old Randy is a precinct delegate for the Republican party in his state. (Why is it that these self declared racist are always republicans? Can one of my African American republican friends help me with this please?)

So anyway, Randy held a one man protest for about 15-20 minutes at a busy intersection in his hometown to protest the election of the "socialist, Islamic negro" (the Klan's words, not mine) while dressed in his Klan robe. I am sure Randy thinks that his little act was a profile in courage. But sorry Randy, I didn't exactly have Tiananmen Square flashbacks while reading about your little episode.

Still, I feel your pain there buddy. And guess what, the field has no problem with you exercising your First Amendment right which was guaranteed to you by our fine Constitution. I am glad that you came out of the KKKloset. People need to know who you are. I just wish that more folks like you would do the same thing. I suspect that in places like Michigan, where the economy is sinking like the Titanic, there are more and more folks signing up for your organization every day. Jobs are scarce, and those Jews own all the businesses; they only recruit the blacks and Mexicans to do all the jobs, so what's a poor white guy to do?

“I feel white people feel more oppressed,”... We’re basically told as white people we can’t have any organizations. We’re ruled by communists...“It’s not just about Barack Obama. It goes deeper than that.”

Well Randy, let's hope that changes. Let's hope that you are free to organize and advocate for your own cause. (Without physically hurting anyone else of course) This is the A-merry-can way. Although it seems that not everyone agrees with you:

“If, in fact, he’s associated with the KKK, [then] yes, it troubles me.”
