Let the push-back begin.

"Damn field! Why do you allow all those racist trolls to comment on your site?"

I get that a lot. And my answer is always the same: Get used to it. Those trolls could be your neighbor, your co-worker, or even the person you set next to in church.

The thing about the Internet is that allows folks who couldn't always do it to hide behind an anonymous label and call you all kinds of vile things. He or she can do it from the safety of their trailer park or the Wal- Mart bathroom, and they can send it out to thousands of people reading every day with one push of a button to a black run website. Isn't technology beautiful?

The thing is, far too many of you so called progressive thinking people have been fooled into thinking that A-merry-ca is this forward thinking place full of enlightened people. You watch too many commercials with hip interracial friends getting along while sipping beer and playing with puppies. That is not A-merry-ca. That is what Madison Avenue wants A-merry-ca to be.

The real A-merry-ca is a place filled with the kind of folks you see commenting on this web site on a daily basis. The real A-merry-ca is full of envy, hate, and "color aroused" angst brought on by ignorance and prejudice. It's why you are seeing the blow- back from right wingers and some folks in the majority population with the Trayvon Martin case. Now you will hear what a bad kid he was. You will hear that he might have been kicking his killer's ass before he was slaughtered in that housing development like roadkill on a Florida highway. You will hear that Mr. Zimmerman actually had a black friend, and that he mentored black boys. And you will hear that if George Zimmerman didn't kill Trayvon Martin, the seventeen year old was going to beat him to a bloody pulp with those "street hardened" fists of his.

You will hear it, but don't believe a word of it. And even if you do, it should not affect how you feel about this case one little bit. The truth of the matter is that an unarmed seventeen year old was lawfully walking down the street to go and watch a basketball game at the home of a friend. He was spotted, profiled,  hunted down, and eventually killed.

Trayvon Martin is dead, and George Zimmerman is free. Therein lies the problem. Justice has not been served. George Zimmerman has not even been arrested for a lessor crime than murder. Most A-merry-cans see the injustice in this. Most.

Sadly, in the dark hearts of many A-merry-cans, this is exactly how it should be. Because the person who died is a "young black thug". The hoodie wearing suspect fit a profile and fit our perceptions of what people who end up dead when there is a violent confrontation should look like. This fits the narrative. All the protesting and calls for justice does not.

So what's a good knuckle dragging racist to do? Well, for one, they can comment  and troll on black websites. Or, if they are fortunate enough, they can tell the world how it should be or manipulate the facts from their own websites. Or, thanks to their very own 24 hour cable news channel; they can go on television and tell millions of like minded people to ignore the calls for justice because justice was already served.

"Field, by allowing these trolls to leave these nasty comments and say all those vile things, you make it hard for me to go to your website."

I will miss you. But remember, you not reading the Field Negro blog and me blocking their comments won't change how they feel in their hearts or how A-merry-cans, in general, feel about you and me.

I just want you to understand what is happening here in the land of only some are free. It's been here all along. But we have a black president now, and black people, people of color, poor people, and progressive whites, are now demanding  that A-merry-ca lives up to her claim of exceptiona ism. The rest of the people in A-merry-ca want to know why. "Haven't we been exceptional all along?"

No, we haven't. And our actions and words lately prove more than ever why we have not.

"It's clear the president has been not a uniting figure on an issue that, I think many Americans thought he would be. And it’s very tragic and to take a horrible situation like that and inject this issue, which, you know, may be a factor, may not be a factor, but even if it is a factor, it’s one… If it is a factor, it’s obviously one sick man and to use that instead of just saying, as a healing president would do, try to bring people together, but instead try to divide people is really a sad, tragic legacy of this president.”

Wrong again Mr. Santorum. The "tragic legacy" of this presidency will be the behavior of those who thrive on division and are driven by hatred.

“What the president said, in a sense, is disgraceful,” Gingrich told conservative talker Sean Hannity. “It’s not a question of who that young man looked like. Any young American of any ethnic background should be safe, period. We should all be horrified no matter what the ethnic background.”

We should "be horrified". But we are not. Not at the killing of that young man.  Instead we make excuses for justice denied to a dead young man and his family.

“It is a tragedy this young man was shot. It would have been a tragedy if he had been Puerto Rican or Cuban, or if he had been white, or if he had been Asian-American, or if he’d been a Native American,” he continued. ”At some point, we ought to talk about being Americans. When things go wrong to an American, it is sad for all Americans. Trying to turn it into a racial issue is fundamentally wrong. I really find it appalling.”

What I find "appalling" Mr. Gingrich is the fact that you would politicize the death of a human being to score cheap political points with like minded people.

You all deserve each other.

Flipper takes Florida.

It looks like Flipper is laying a smack down on Newt as I write this post. He is up by over twenty points. Congrats Flipper, I guess practice makes perfect. This could get ugly. Whatever happened to all those Tea Party folks? Flipper and his people out spent Newt big time. I can't wait for Newt's concession speech to his troops.

Flipper went negative on Newt and has vowed to crush him. (92 percent of the ads have been negative!) It seemed like only yesterday that Newt was saying that the negative stuff in the republican primary was all the media's fault and he was running a positive campaign. Well Newt, that ain't the media slamming you with all those negative ads in Gator country. You might want to check your fellow republicans to see where the heat is coming from.

Still, the truth of the matter is this, none these candidates are very appealing to their base. (Sarah, where are you?)

“That’s the great mystery of 2012,” a senior Republican journalist told me while watching the brouhaha in Florida. “We have the weakest incumbent president in 32 years, running on the weakest record in 32 years… and who’s taking the stage in South Carolina and Florida? It has to be the weakest field I can remember. Each of these candidates has in his character, in his history, in his idea set—never mind disqualifying—a guarantee for self-destruction. If Newt is the candidate, he’ll lose badly. If Mitt is the candidate, he’ll lose slightly less badly … So what you have is an almost complete guarantee that if these are the candidates, Barack Obama will be reelected.” [Source]

Relax Mr. GOP; it's still going to be a very close election this November. No matter who represents the republican gang, the members of the gang will still vote for the person with the R by their name. You just have to hope that they come out. Besides, a little fighting among yourselves is good. It will get your guy battle tested for the war that's sure to come in November. Hillary and O beat up on each other pretty good, and O was a better candidate in the general because of it. Although this Flipper guy....I don't know.

"I think Romney will be the nominee,” a veteran Democratic campaign observer told me about the feud with Gingrich. “But he has unplumbed weaknesses. He’s such a terrible candidate. When’s he’s competent, he’s memorizing the talking points and delivering them with a mechanical energy. There’s no mind at work, no evidence that he understands how to do this. You don’t see a brain working, do you?”

Yes, but who needs a brain when you have money?

From Kim Jong to Newt.

There are a few things on my mind tonight.

I could, once again, chase the Big R, but I will leave him alone for now. I am sure that he will keep me busy over the coming year.

Anyway, I would like to congratulate Donald Trump for having the world's most f^%*d up hair cut now that Kim Jong Il is dead. Congrats Donald! I know that it was killing you all these years to be number two.

The headlines have been screaming out at me about that horrific killing in a New York elevator. It has "outraged" and "shocked" New Yorkers, and it is front page news damn near everywhere in the country.

We all know about that monster, Jerome Issac, by now, and we are collectively horrified by his actions.

But how many of us know about Sara McCeen? I suspect not many. Because what Sara McCeen did was not caught on camera, and it didn't happen in New York City. But, make no mistake, it was every bit as barbaric and depraved.

"An Illinois woman shot each of her three children, including a 10-month-old baby, in the head before apparently killing herself, authorities said Monday. Investigators arriving on the scene found their bodies in the backyard, the woman's hands stained with soot from firing the gun.

Authorities released new details on the shootings in Emington, a farming community with 117 residents about 85 miles southwest of Chicago. Neighbors have said the gunfire erupted moments after McMeen's two older children got off a school bus on Friday.

Investigators found the body of her live-in boyfriend, Daniel Warren, 29, inside the couple's rented home. They found McMeen, 30, and her three children in the backyard.

Next-door neighbor Annelise Fiedler told The Associated Press on Saturday that she ran out of her house when she heard the first burst of gunfire. She saw McMeen hovering over her baby as if she had dropped her.
Fiedler asked McMeen if everything was all right.

"She looked at me and said, 'No, everything is not all right,'" Fiedler said. Then, McMeen shot the baby.

Autopsy results released Monday said 10-month-old Maggie Warren had two gunshot wounds in the head and a separate wound where a bullet grazed her neck.

McMeen's two older children, 8-year-old Skyler Lemke and 7-year-old Ian Lemke, also were shot in the head. Autopsy results showed Skyler died of two gunshot." [Source]

Yep, shooting your own ten month old child at point blank range rates pretty high up on the f*&^%$ up scale.

There is a big vote tonight in Washington. But beware A-merry-ca; the republican congress is doing its best to make sure that some of you working class stiffs in A- do not have a merry Christmas.

The grownups in the senate voted on a bipartisan measure to extend the pay roll tax cuts for another couple of months. But the republicans in Congress said not so fast. They want to show the beige man in the people's house who is in charge.

"I expect that the House will disagree with the Senate amendment and instead vote to formally go to conference, the formal process of which the House and Senate can resolve our differences between our two chambers and our two bills," Boehner said."

In other words; more bull s%$#!

Finally, goodbye Newt, we hardly knew ya.

It looks like Newt,  like Herman, Michele, and Rick before him; was just another flash in the pan. The latest flavor of the month for restless and unsatisfied republican primary voters. And now, just like the others, his once bright star is fading.

Sorry Newt, at the end of the day, you had too much baggage. Republicans should be glad you are dropping in the polls. You had no shot against Obama, and deep down I think they know it. It's why they are turning away from you.
You might be more conservative than Flipper Mitt, but Flipper Mitt can beat Obama; you can't.

Oh well, maybe you can go back to pronouncing your name GING-rick again:

"We used to play out there -- cowboys and Indians," Swartz said. "We would also go around and explore the woods."

Even as a boy, Mr. Swartz said, Mr. Gingrich "could always talk."
He recalls that the Gingrich name was pronounced GING-rick, the German way. Newt started calling himself Ging-rich after he went to school in the South and took up his career there, first as an academic and then a politician." [Source]

So Newt has a little German in him.

Auf Wiedersehen Herr Gingrich.

Why am I still here?

So there I was looking at the beautiful Mrs. Field over dinner, and telling her what a wonderful ride it has been. It was about fifteen minutes to six, so we only had a little time left together. I was sure that we wouldn't be seeing each other ever again, because, quite frankly, we were going to different places.

Anywhoo, the waiter came and I thanked him for a wonderful meal. The joint was kind of high end, but what the hell, I wasn't going to pay for it.

We waited... and waited......and when the clock finally struck six I squeezed her hand and.....nothing. The waiter was standing over us with a check and asking us if we enjoyed our meal. I told him "Yes, but I never expected to pay for it". "We prepared some[checks] just in case." A wise guy, huh. Let's see how you like it with no tip. "Field, you better not stiff that man on the tip". (This is why she would have been heading up in the rapture and I would have been packing my warm weather clothes.

"Thank you folks, please come again."

I am still here, and if you are reading this, so are you. That's the good news. The bad news is, of course, that you could be gone tomorrow and that s&*^ isn't planned or predicted. One minute you are driving down the highway and.....Pow! You go all Randy Savage into an immovable object. Poor Randy, I bet he was laughing at the Judgement Day "Kooks" just like we were.

But you know who I feel sorry for in all of this? My man Harold. Apparently he has been missing since the clock struck six and there was no destruction to show for it. --Well, except for that Volcano in Iceland. I hope he doesn't take this too hard. Folks have been wrong about this kind of stuff before. I hear that his followers are devastated (see Obamaholics, you are not alone), and they are pretty much in a major depression mode over what to do next.

I guess Harold could go back to the good book and revise his notes. But he has to be careful, the big guy has a cruel sense of humor. It's been lord knows who long and we are all still waiting around.

I know one person in A-merry-ca who wishes that that the world did end at six o clock today. That would be one Newt Gingrich. After the week he had last week I even started feeling sorry for him... Not!

Anyway, it's a good thing that he has handlers around him who can fight back and let the haters have it.

"The literati sent out their minions to do their bidding," ..... "Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders who might disrupt their comfortable world."

The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness,....They fired timidly at first, then the sheep not wanting to be dropped from the establishment's cocktail party invite list unloaded their entire clip, firing without taking aim their distortions and falsehoods......

Now they are left exposed by their bylines and handles. But surely they had killed him off. This is the way it always worked,....A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich, once again ready to lead those who won't be intimated by the political elite and are ready to take on the challenges America faces." Why couldn't the rapture just take some people?

Some Rand-om thoughts.

Preachers killing their wives and storing them in freezers. Preachers claiming to be literally thrown under a bus . And rodents in the White House. (I swear they can't let you Negroes live anywhere.) What the hell is the world coming to? Wait, did I mention that the soon to be country of Texas decided to teach white only his...correct that; conservative white history in their schools? (The word slavery is now a no no. (It's now "Atlantic triangular trade" or some s#&t.) Must be nice. Nothing like a little white washing of history to make the natives feel better and soothe the jingoistic fever running amok here in A-merry-ca.

And through it all Rand just keeps talking:

“The thing is that, you know, the drilling right now and the problem we’re having now is in international waters, and I think there needs to be regulation of that and always has been. I think there are hundreds of pages of regulation.

What I don’t like from the president’s administration is this sort of, you know, I’ll put my boot heel on the throat of BP. I think that sounds really un-American in his criticism of business.
I’ve heard nothing from BP about not paying for the spill. And I think it’s part of this sort of blame-game society in the sense that it’s always got to be someone’s fault instead of the fact that may be, sometimes, accidents happen.
I mean, we had a mining accident that was very tragic, and I’ve met a lot of these miners and their families. They’re very brave people to do a dangerous job, but then we come in and it’s always someone’s fault. Maybe, sometimes, accidents happen."

I think I am going to like this guy. He is a bloggers dream.

Rand Rand Rand. First, Obama shouldn't put his "boot heel" on BP's throat, he should demand that the federal government put its hands in their pockets. And, for the record, those hands better be long, because those pockets are deep.

"Maybe sometimes accidents happen". The problem with that statement, of course, is that this was no accident, it could have been prevented. Just like those mining accidents could have been prevented. Tragic things happen when you put profits over people, and this was a tragedy (and continues to be) on a grand scale. But, to get all legal with it, the consequences were foreseeable. So Rand, I think you put your size 8 (OK 9)in your mouth again. (Second thought, make that a 7)

My man Rand is asking for a honeymoon. Don't worry Rand, over at Radio Rwanda you will get more sex than you could have ever dream of. That's because, fortunately for you, you will be on a very long honeymoon with them. You can thank your political leanings for that. You can thank your mouth (and to a lessor extent your brain) for the other stuff.

And finally, let's have a moment of silence for this guy's 2012 presidential run.............

"He has a doctorate in the social sciences and taught briefly at the college level. He has been married three times, divorced twice and confessed to an extramarital affair. He has never served in the military and lives in one of Washington's poshest suburbs. He is the very personification of his much-reviled "cultural elite." He is Newt Gingrich, and he is out to get himself."

Mr. Cohen, he already did.

If a child falls in the hood and no one cares to hear about it....

..should we make a sound? Of course we should. We owe our children that much.

As my man Reggie Warrington [Dave Chappelle] told Buddy Love [Eddie Murphy] in the Nutty Professor; "it's time to attack black."

So here we go again. It seems like every now and then I have to go on one of these rants. My Killadelphia murder count on the sidebar of this blog is not enough. Black folks, unfortunately, have become numb to the senseless killing of our children by our children. So what if three more young men were murdered this past week in Philly? Or if well over thirty school aged children have been murdered in Chicago this year? (How come Oprah doesn't have a show about that? I guess Dr. Phil doesn't do grief counseling) We have come to expect it.

But every now and then there is a murder that shocks our collective conscience and plays itself into the national psyche. Instead of a line or two in the metro page of the local paper, it makes national news. Bryan Williams is talking about it, and middle A-merry-cas is watching it with their hands over their mouths. In the hood people are wondering what's the big deal. How come this one made the national news and all the others didn't? Link

Well maybe it's because this one played itself out on video like a twisted reality television show for all of us to see. -And in the president's hometown no less- Urban terrorist beating a young honor student to death. No remorse, no heart, and no hesitation. Like a pack of animals who have strayed far away from their human DNA. You have all seen the video by now. If you haven't maybe you should. And when you do, take a long hard look at those those urban terrorist and try to find something. Maybe a clue as to why they act the way that they do. Something. Anything. I looked. In fact, I am always looking.

Here is what I see whenever I look: Children-wait, I take that back; boys without fathers. Young men with no men in their lives. Young men being raised by the streets and all sorts of negative influences. Most of them are here compliments of some sperm donor who just kept getting up. Absent fathers who thought that mom had a fat ass and was a "hell a nice shot".

I never see those sperm donors in criminal court when the cases are being called and the defendant's are being led into the courtroom. Only girlfriends, grandmothers, and mothers. The only black males I see in the court rooms are the sheriffs. When I go into the home of a potential client, the only people I negotiate with are mothers and grandmothers. Again, there is never a sperm donor in sight. That is my reality, and it's better than any scientific study you can cook up from some fancy Ivy League school. Oh field, stop it, what do you expect these men to do? What about the women who hook up with them? What about them? I can't speak for the women. All I know is that more often or not she is the one left to raise the child by herself. The sperm donor is always long gone and nowhere around. Regardless of who zoomed who.

I am so sick of seeing the vigils, the teddy bears, and the prayer groups in front of crime scenes. Because the sad reality is that tomorrow, just like clockwork, some poor child will be snatched from us by an urban terrorist all over again.

Today, Al Sharpton,Newt Gingrich, and Education Secretary, Arne Duncan, toured the schools here in Philly. (Talk about strange bedfellows)They were here to praise the charter school system in our fine city and push for longer hours in school. That's all fine. But our schools could stay open twenty four hours a day and it wouldn't make a damn difference to the urban terrorist out here. The kids who want to learn will be there, and the others will keep doing what they are doing now: be disruptive, make it harder for the other kids, and create a poor overall learning environment.

But let's keep it real with each other. The schools can only do so much. Everything starts at home.

I know that I am preaching to the choir here, because most of you who read this blog with children don't need to here this. I am sure that your children are fine. But what about the rest of them? All of our children. A-merry-ca's children. (Well, black A-merry-ca's children, because I am quite sure that the rest of A-merry-ca would never claim them. They would much rather adopt a nice little Asian or Russian girl...let me stop.) How do we get to them? How do we stop the sperm donors? It's, for the most part, a question that is orotund in nature. Because as much as I have tried to figure it out, I swear that I don't know the answer.
