A pervert goes to Washington?

I think Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore has a different take on the scriptures.

 I bet the good book was not around when he (Moore) was allegedly sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl back in the day.   

The GOP can't seem to catch a break these days. Roy Moore, if you believe the polls, will soon join his colleagues in Washington. And if you believe the well sourced story from the Washington Post, his buddies in the senate will have a pedophile to answer for. 

Of course this will be nothing new to them. They have been defending a president who has been accused of sexually assaulting numerous women, and who has admitted that he likes to assault women  all along.

As long as they can push through their agenda, it doesn't matter how morally bankrupt their ideological soul-mates are. Down in Alabama the auditor general of that state is actually using the aforementioned bible to defend the actions of Moore.

" Even if the allegations of sexual misconduct made against Roy Moore are true, it's no big deal that he was a 32-year-old man initiating an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl, because the Bible is filled with stories of older men with younger women, Alabama State Auditor Jim Ziegler told The Washington Examiner Thursday.

"Take the Bible, Zachariah and Elizabeth for instance," Ziegler said. "Zachariah was extremely old to marry Elizabeth and they became the parents of John the Baptist. Also take Joseph and Mary. Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter. They became parents of Jesus. There's just nothing immoral or illegal here. Maybe just a little bit unusual."'

Who knew that pedophilia was a religious thing? So let me get this straight, Roy Moore is Joseph and his poor (alleged) 14 year old victim is Mary?  OK then.

The news of Mr. Moore's alleged escapades comes on the day we learned that the president was offered five women as a gift from the Russian government on a trip there in 2013. His bodyguard said they didn't take the Russians up on their offer, and that he just laughed about it.

That's the bodyguard's story and he is sticking to it.

 

GROUNDHOG DAY.

 I feel like I am in the middle of a Bill Murray movie about groundhogs with this president and his administration.

Everyday we are supposed to reset and start all over again. (John Kelly was supposed to take care of all of that.)  But alas, every day seems like the one before. It's just one story of lies and cover- ups after another.

Today we learned that president trump helped craft his son's misleading statement about his e-mail exchange regarding his meeting with Russians at trump Towers.

"In response to New York Times reporting that Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer during the campaign, President Donald Trump dictated a misleading statement for his son, The Washington Post reported Monday evening.

The Post, citing multiple people with knowledge of the situation, said the original plan in response to the Times' reporting was to issue a truthful statement ahead of the story, but then Trump personally decided to have the statement say Trump Jr. had met with the lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, to discuss adoption of Russian children by people in the US. The Post reports that Trump dictated the statement while flying back to Washington from the G20 summit in Hamburg, aboard Air Force One." [Source]

 

It seems as if the president of the United States is incapable of telling the truth. And that's a bad thing. But you know what's worse? That the people around him seem to be willfully oblivious of his lies and obfuscations. Being able to willfully suspend disbelief is a trait that is obviously needed by his supporters. 

 

Finally, I have been saying all along that FOX VIEWS is not a news organization, but that it is more of an entertainment and propaganda network masquerading as something serious and objective. 

 

Now, sadly, they have been just shamelessly shilling for the current administration, as they were for George W. Bush and his administration during those disastrous years. 

 

The following story shows how far they will allegedly go to push their agenda. Desperately trying to find another Benghazi, they thought they found it in the tragic death of  young DNC staffer named Seth Rich.

 

"On May 16, the Fox News Channel broke what it called a "bombshell" story about an unsolved homicide: the July 2016 shooting of 27-year-old Democratic Party staffer Seth Rich.

Unfounded conspiracy theories involving Rich abounded in the months after his death, in part because WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange cryptically suggested that Rich's death may have been related to the leaks of tens of thousands of emails from Democratic Party officials and their allies at the peak of the presidential campaign.

Julian Assange story, which took flight online and ran in segments across major shows, breathed fresh life into the rumors. Fox reported that the leaks came from inside the party and not from hackers linked to Russia — despite the conclusions of the nation's most senior intelligence officials. The network suggested that Democrats might have been connected to Rich's death and that a cover-up had thwarted the official investigation.

The network cited an unnamed FBI official. And the report relied heavily on Wheeler, a former police detective, hired months earlier on behalf of the Riches by Butowsky.

These developments took place during growing public concern over a federal investigation into the Trump camp's possible collusion with the Russian government during the campaign. The allegations have since touched the president's son and son-in-law, his former campaign manager, his attorney general and his first national security adviser, who resigned as a result.

The question of Rich's death took on greater urgency for Butowsky after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey in early May. Comey had been overseeing the Russia investigation. The story ran just a week later.

Fox's report went sideways shortly after it was posted online and aired on Fox & Friends. It was denounced by the Rich family, D.C. police, Democratic Party officials and even, privately, by some journalists within the network. Within hours, Wheeler told other news outlets that Fox News had put words in his mouth.

Despite those concerns, Wheeler appeared on the shows of Fox Business host Lou Dobbs and Fox News star Sean Hannity, who devoted significant time to the story that night and in subsequent days. In speaking with Wheeler, Hannity said: "If this is true and Seth Rich gave WikiLeaks the DNC e-mails ... this blows the whole Russia collusion narrative completely out of the water."

A week later, on May 23, Fox retracted the story, saying the reporting process failed to live up to its standards. Hannity said he would take a break from talking about Rich's death out of respect for the family. And there it has largely stood — until now.

The fake news story

In the lawsuit, the private investigator sets out a different version of events. Wheeler, a paid Fox News contributor since 2005, alleges the story was orchestrated behind the scenes and from the outset by Butowsky, who hired him on behalf of the Rich family.

The following account reflects the verbatim quotes provided from the texts, emails, voicemails and recorded conversations cited in Wheeler's lawsuit, except as otherwise noted.

According to the lawsuit, Trump press secretary Sean Spicer meets at the White House with Wheeler and Butowsky to review the Rich story a month before Fox News ran the piece.

On May 14, about 36 hours before Fox News' story appears, Butowsky leaves a voicemail for Wheeler, saying, "We have the full, uh, attention of the White House on this. And tomorrow, let's close this deal, whatever we've got to do."

Butowsky also texts Wheeler: "Not to add any more pressure but the president just read the article. He wants the article out immediately. It's now all up to you." [Source]

One thing we know about house Negroes is this: At some point they all realize that those in the house does not view them as equals. Rod Wheeler played the god house Negro for years over at FOX. Now that he feels that he has been defamed and misquoted in his investigation for the people at FOX, he has found religion and wants his good name back.

He has filed a lawsuit. Hopefully there will be formal discovery and depositions to come.

What should really embarrass us.

* So the CBO score of the right-wingnut healthcare bill came out today, and as was to be expected, it predicted that 22 million Americans will be without healthcare as a result of this bill in 10 years.

I am not quite sure how these politricksters can try to sell this bill with a straight face, but , not surprisingly, some have tried. 

I wish they would just be honest and tell the country that they are just trying to  undo everything that former president Obama did.  Their hatred for the man is so strong that they will do everything in their powers to undo his legacy. Even if it means leaving 22 million Americans without heath coverage.

The hater in chief has Obama on his brain so much that he is now blaming him for not stopping his buddies the Russians from hacking into our elections.  Think about this for a minute: This is like a rapist saying, Why did you wear that dress?

 This is the same guy who was just days ago telling us to move on from this Russia story because there is nothing to see here.  Now he is saying that if there IS something to see here, it's Obama's fault.

Speaking of president Obama, here is a wonderful essay about him and the class and dignity he showed while in office, and possibly the real reason for the hatred in some quarters towards him.

Really?

 

What exactly were you embarrassed by?

 

Were you embarrassed by the way he lovingly and sweetly parented and protected his daughters?

Were you embarrassed by his Columbia University degree in Political Science or his graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law School?

 

Maybe you were embarrassed by his white American and Black Kenyan parents, or the diversity he was raised in as normal?

 

Were you embarrassed by his eloquence, his quick wit, his easy humor, his seeming comfort meeting with both world leaders and street cleaners; by his bright smile or his sense of empathy or his steadiness - perhaps by his lack of personal scandals or verbal gaffes or impulsive tirades?

 

No. Of course you weren't

 

Honestly, I don't believe you were ever embarrassed. That word implies an association that brings ridicule, one that makes you ashamed by association, and if that's something you claim to have experienced over the past eight years by having Barack Obama representing you in the world - I'm going to suggest you rethink your word choice.

You weren't "embarrassed" by Barack Obama.

 

You were threatened by him.

You were offended by him.

You were challenged by him.

You were enraged by him.

 

But I don't believe it had anything to do with his resume or his experience or his character or his conduct in office - because you seem fully proud right now to be associated with a three-time married, serial adulterer and confessed predator; a man whose election and business dealings and relationships are riddled with controversy and malfeasance. You're perfectly fine being represented by a bullying, obnoxious, genitalia-grabbing, Tweet-ranting, Prime Minister-shoving charlatan who's managed to offend all our allies in a few short months. And you're okay with him putting on religious faith like a rented, dusty, ill-fitting tuxedo and immediately tossing it in the garbage when he's finished with it.

 

None of that you're embarrassed of? I wonder how that works.

 

Actually, I'm afraid I have an idea. I hope I'm wrong.

 

Listen, you're perfectly within your rights to have disagreed with Barack Obama's policies or to have taken issue with his tactics. No one's claiming he was a flawless politician or a perfect human being. But somehow I don't think that's what we're talking about here. I think the thing President Obama did that really upset you, white friend - was having a complexion that was far darker than you were ever comfortable with. I think the President we have now feels much better.

Because objectively speaking, if what's happening in our country right now doesn't cause you great shame and doesn't induce the continual meeting of your palm to your face - I don't believe embarrassment is ever something you struggle with.

 

No, if you claimed to be "embarrassed" by Barack Obama but you're not embarrassed by Donald Trump - I'm going to strongly suggest it was largely a pigmentation issue.

 

And as an American and a Christian committed to diversity and equality and to the liberty at the heart of this nation - that, embarrasses me." [Source]

Drip-drip.

 All this brouhaha about Jeff Sessions and the rest of the trump team playing let's make a deal with the Russians, and it might not amount to much.

This is because the republicans in congress will do their best to make sure that it doesn't. They have been blocking efforts to investigate at every turn.

I suppose that's how Washington works: Yes, he is a crook, but he is our crook.

What a difference an administration makes. Just imagine if the shoes were on the other foot. If you think the cries of Benghazi were bad, just remember that the cries of Moscow would be ten times worse. 

As for trump's taxes, we might as well forget that as well. It looks like we will never see the taxes of our charlatan in chief. This is because house republicans just voted to make sure that we, the public, never see them.

The president must really love his fellow republicans right about now. They have gotten his back and they have tried to shield him from himself and the law.

Pascrell first brought his request to the Chairman of the Way and Mean Committee, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX). Brady rejected the request, citing concern for Trump’s “civil liberties.”

Pascrell was able to bring the issue to a full vote on the floor through a vehicle known as a “privileged d resolution.”'

I suspect that these years will not be "golden" for the American presidency.

       I am getting ready to watch president Obama's farewell speech.

Regardless of what you thought of the man's policies, you have to admit that he carried himself with dignity and grace while in office, and that he, along with his family, was scandal free.

Which leads me, once again, to our president-elect and the following story:

The dossier, which is a collection of memos written over a period of months, includes specific, unverified, and potentially unverifiable allegations of contact between Trump aides and Russian operatives, and graphic claims of sexual acts documented by the Russians. CNN reported Tuesday that a two-page synopsis of the report was given to President Obama and Trump.

Now BuzzFeed News is publishing the full document so that Americans can make up their own minds about allegations about the president-elect that have circulated at the highest levels of the US government.

The document was prepared for political opponents of Trump by a person who is understood to be a former British intelligence agent. It is not just unconfirmed: It includes some clear errors. The report misspells the name of one company, “Alpha Group,” throughout. It is Alfa Group. The report says the settlement of Barvikha, outside Moscow, is “reserved for the residences of the top leadership and their close associates.” It is not reserved for anyone, and it is also populated by the very wealthy.

The Trump administration’s transition team did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News’ request for comment. However, the president-elect’s attorney, Michael Cohen, told Mic that the allegations were absolutely false.

“It’s so ridiculous on so many levels,” he said. “Clearly, the person who created this did so from their imagination or did so hoping that the liberal media would run with this fake story for whatever rationale they might have.”[Story]

Of course the most interesting part of the whole story is this little tidbit:

I am not sure what those alleged "degrading sex acts" were, but let's just say that #GoldenShowers is trending on twitter.

From Russia with love.

Donald trump is mad at the White House and Obama again, and here is why:

Mr Putin can weaken us just like he’s trying to weaken Europe if we start buying into notions that it’s okay to intimidate the press or lock up dissidents or discriminate against people because of their faith or what they look like.”'

Donald doesn't like it when you bad mouth his guy. I mean his on his fourth leg of his victory tour now thanks to comrade Putin. But, sadly, for Donald, everyone except the most tone deaf wingnut now believe that the Russians were all in when it comes to getting trump elected.

Of course, if you are trump, this is the last thing you want to hear, and it is the worst thing that you could do to his huge ---but very fragile--- ego.

Finally, Jamelle Bouie has a article in Slate.com that is causing some folks to cry foul. Something about him comparing Dylann Roof.

Personally, I think there is a lot of truth to what he wrote. But hey, what do I know? I am just your friendly neighborhood blogger.

Vlad gets his man.

And the Russians no doubt got their man. Not that wingnuts care. They have a new found fondness for all things Russian. (Reagan must be turning in his grave.)

It all started when they were looking for a hero to stand up tho that evil Obama fellow, and they found him in Putin. I bet they all have that picture of him riding on a horse without his shirt on somewhere in their homes.(Somebody get that man a bra.)

They couldn't get Vlad, so they elected the next best thing: trump. Now, like Putin did with Mother Russia, he will try to make America in his own image, (Watch how he uses his power to go after private citizens in very Putin like fashion.) I am sure that we all are hoping that he doesn't destroy the country first.

Finally, some of you Negroes need a reality check.

This story in Alabama where the two young ladies were profiled in Victoria (has a ) Secret is both sad and funny at the same time.

It's obviously sad because of what happened to them.

"Victoria’s Secret has apologized to a woman who was asked to leave the store. 

A woman shopping at a Victoria’s Secret in the Quintard Mall in Oxford, Ala., says she was shocked and dismayed to be asked to leave the store. Traveling nurse Kimberly Houzah says she and a second black shopper were made to leave after a store manager caught another black woman shoplifting.

In a live video of more than 11 minutes, posted on Facebook, Houzah tells the story of her interaction with store manager Faith, who can be seen in the video talking to the other black woman that Houzah claimed had also been asked to leave. “Completely furious, I could cry,” Houzah said before explaining the situation. “There was another black female in here who got caught stealing … so [Faith] asks me and another black female to leave because, she can’t tell us why, but we’re kicked out [of] the store.”

Houzah says that no one asked to check her bag, said that once the other woman was caught stealing, she and the second black woman were promptly asked to leave. “She caught the other black girl stealing, and she was like ‘You need to get out of here.’” Houzah said the woman who identified herself as “Faith” asked if she and the other innocent shopper were with the thief, and they said they weren’t. “I would have felt more comfortable if [she had] said, ‘Ma’am, can I check your bag?’” [Source]

OK, I think we can all agree that this was a messed up situation. Some folks just believe that now that we are about to start the age of trump they can just do whatever they want when it comes to black folks like they did 45 years ago. 

Anyway, as is to be expected, VS issued an apology and fired the "racist" employee.

But here is the line that had me scratching my head after reading this story:

“I never, never thought in a million years that that would happen to me,” Houzah said in the now viral video. 

?????

I swear some of you Negroes need to wake up.  Ms Houzah, why did you think that this could not happen to you?

None of you are immune from racism. Remember that.
