"The rich are not like us, my dear."

It looks like yet another one of the haves is going to take his anger out on the have- nots because O beat their boy.

"An Applebee's New York area franchisee is the latest CEO to go public threatening drastic plans to avoid costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare.

"We've calculated it will [cost] some millions of dollars across our system. So what does that say -- that says we won't build more restaurants. We won't hire more people," Zane Tankel, chairman and CEO of Apple-Metro, told Fox Business Network on Thursday.

Apple-Metro, which runs 40 Applebee's restaurants, employs from 80 to 300 people at each of its locations. Obamacare mandates that businesses with more than 50 workers must offer an approved insurance plan or pay a penalty of $2,000 for each full-time worker over 30 workers.

Most small businesses with 50 or more employees already do offer health insurance, notes John Arensmeyer, CEO and founder of Small Business Majority, a national small business advocacy organization. But restaurant chains typically are among the sliver of businesses not offering insurance to workers. Other food chains have commented publicly that they would take strong measures to avoid the effects of Obamacare, but so far none of them have taken that action." [Source]

Ahh what the hell, if we are lucky all the Applebee's will close down and we will get new restaurants in their place with food that actually tastes good.

But I guess these guys with money all tend yo have a certain way about them.
I mean look what Flipper did after he lost the election:

"Mitt Romney delayed conceding the 2012 election to President Barack Obama, even with the writing on the wall. Once he admitted defeat, however, his campaign went into shutdown mode, quickly dismantling and even canceling the credit cards of campaign aides late on election night.

NBC's Garrett Haake described the abrupt transition of the Romney campaign after the GOP nominee gave his brief concession speech:
From the moment Mitt Romney stepped off stage Tuesday night, having just delivered a brief concession speech he wrote only that evening, the massive infrastructure surrounding his campaign quickly began to disassemble itself.

Aides taking cabs home late that night got rude awakenings when they found the credit cards linked to the campaign no longer worked." [Source]

So O cried with his campaign workers and Flipper canceled the credit cards of his. Now if that ain't a synopsis of this entire campaign, I don't know what is.

The floor is yours.

I can't post tonight. Mrs. Field is working me like a....well, a field Negro.

Love to hear why you thought Romney lost the election.

Holla at me.

The GOP believes that America has a weed problem, and O faces a backlash.

Before I start this post I would like to give a special shout out to my realtor and my banker over at FMFCU. The last few months have been crazy. I sold one home and just went to settlement on another. Both of them did a great job for a brotha.
I have more land now, and my wife, a country girl, is happy. I won’t say where it is, because I don’t want the po po spying on my marijuana crop...... That was a joke.
Speaking of marijuana, I swear these wingnuts are getting crazier by the minute. Even the ones with the supposed brains have gone "coo coo for Cocoa puffs." (Pun intended). No wonder folks like Jon Stewart keep making fun of them.
"On his show Thursday night, CNBC host Larry Kudlow wondered if the left was “trying to weaken America” by legalizing marijuana.

“So Colorado and Washington state made history on Tuesday, becoming the first states to legalize the recreational use of marijuana. I just want to ask if liberals trounced on American values and by the way productivity also,” Kudlow said at the beginning of the segment, which was entitled “Liberals’ Pipe Dream: A Nation of Stoners?”

Kudlow’s guest, actress Janine Turner, said marijuana legalization stole “the promise of America.” She warned that it would now be easier for high school students in Colorado and Washington state to obtain the drug." [Source]

As if it's hard for kids in the other 48 states to get pot. Puleeeaaazze.

Then there is the CIA Director failing to keep his jump-off a secret. As one of my twitter fam said, "If the CIA Director can't keep his side piece a secret, where does that leave you other guys"?

Anyway, to the folks at FASCIST NEWS, this too is tied to the Obama administration's attempt to cover-up the incident at Benghazi. Yes, it's a cover-up alright, but the covers weren't covering up a security breakdown, they were covering up something else. I see you saluting, General.

Finally, the fallout from the Obama beat down of flipper continues.

In West Virginia (Do people still live there?) they are flying American flags upside down in protest,  racist tweets are flying in about Obama's reelection from the South, and CEOs, sympathetic to the wingnut cause, are laying off people left and right. From the looks of things, the revolution must be just around the corner.

Batten down the hatches, patriots.

The end of the "great white nation"?

"Soul-searching would be markedly easier... if you, well, had a soul..."

~Tweet from Goldie Taylor~

There has been a lot of "soul searching" in the republican party these days. They still can't figure out why the man who was supposed to save America from the Kenyan Socialist lost the election. It's as if they woke up on November 7th and found themselves living in a different country. (Sorry white America, this is not your grandfather's USA.)It got so bad that white folks took to the streets and rioted. (Hey, I thought the Negroes were supposed to do that if they lost.)

Elspeth Reeve wrote about the "GOP meltdown" in the Atlantic, and she touched on an interesting subject that I have been trying to tell my one (1) republican friend for years.

"If we want to know which way the Republican Party is headed after its big losses on Tuesday, it helps to look at how conservatives are explaining Mitt Romney's loss to themselves. "This should have been a slam dunk," Rush Limbaugh said on Wednesday. "But it wasn't. There are reasons why. We're gonna have to dig deep to find them and we're gonna have to be honest with ourselves when we find the answers to this." From Republican pollsters to talking heads to activists, the reactions are on a continuum from analytical to thoughtful to insane. Here's a guide to the diggingm deep and not-so-deep:

How can we make minorities like us?

Because most of the pre-Election Day poll denialism was focused on demographics -- that there was no way the portion of the 2012 electorate that was black and Latino would be as high as in 2008, much less higher -- much of the post-Election Day soul-searching was focused on why the Republican Party is so unpopular with those groups.

At The Daily Beast, David Frum, who was outsed from the conservative movement for saying Republicans should have negotiated with President Obama on Obamacare, says that just being pro-immigration won't help the party. "It's necessary of course to refrain from insulting Latinos, or, for that matter, anybody," Frum writes. "But the crying need in the GOP is for a more middle-class orientation to politics, one that addresses concerns like healthcare as well as debts and deficits."

However, many prominent conservatives still in good standing failed to meet Frum's first requirement -- the no insults part -- even as they were talking about their unpopularity among those groups. On election night, Fox News' Bill O'Reilly said if Romney loses, it's because non-whites want free stuff.
"The demographics are changing. It's not a traditional America anymore. And 50 percent of the voting public who want stuff. They want things. And who is going to give them things? President Obama. Whereby 20 years ago, President Obama would have been roundly defeated by an establishment candidate like Mitt Romney. The white establishment is now the minority."
Rush Limbaugh, too, was at a loss to explain why minorities don't like the GOP. After all, he can name some black and Latino Republicans:
Let me take you back to the Republican convention. We had Suzanne Martinez, female Hispanic governor, New Mexico. We had Condoleezza Rice, African-American, former secretary of state. Both of those people imminently qualified, terrifically achieved... We had Marco Rubio. We had a parade of minorities who have become successful Americans... Now, why didn't that work, folks?
He continued with this theme later in the show:
It doesn't count with Obama voters about whom it is said that stuff matters most. It doesn't count. Why not? Why, putting it somewhat coarsely, why doesn't the Republican Party get credit for Condoleezza Rice?

The whole country has gone to seed, Ann Coulter says. "If Mitt Romney cannot be elected, we've reached the tipping point. We have more takers than makers," a forlorn Coulter told conservative radio host Laura Ingraham on Wednesday. America "no longer is interested in conservative ideas. It is interested in handouts." The Israeli paper owned by Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire who blew so much money on the election, ran the headline, "America Chose Socialism."

Limbaugh hit on this theme too. "It's just very difficult to beat Santa Claus," he said. "People are not going to vote against Santa Claus, especially if the alternative is being your own Santa Claus." He continued that Obama supporters "think the Democrat Party's gonna punish the people who have unfairly gotten stuff that they shouldn't have. They got more stuff than other people have stuff and that stuff's gotta be redistributed."

It's not entirely about free stuff, says John Hayward at Human Events. "It’s really a battle of irresponsibility vs. freedom." He writes that conservatives must explain the true cost of free stuff, "A good portion of the middle-class 'free stuff' crowd, including quite a few of the working poor, would be much less receptive to Big Government if they appreciated that its financing is not a painless skimming of loot from bulging treasure vaults." [Source]

I suspect that republicans don't see the irony in all of this. They assume that blacks and other minorities just want "free stuff", yet they wonder why blacks and other minorities cannot embrace their party.

Republicans like to accuse liberals of being race conscious but it is the republican party and people on the right who have been obsessed with matters of race, lately. This notion that the election of Barack Obama means the end of white America is laughable and absurd. Trust me, white America will be just fine. Besides, the last time I checked Barack Obama had a white mama.
But some white folks just can't shake the browning of their country.

"White America died last night. Obama's reelection killed it. Our 200 plus year history as a Western nation is over. We're a Socialist Latin American country now. Venezuela without the oil.

"White America died last night. Obama's reelection killed it. Our 200 plus year history as a Western nation is over. We're a Socialist Latin American country now. Venezuela without the oil."

Stunned by his clear racism, Liddy tried to walk his guest back from the ledge:
"With what you just said right there...You seem to imply that white people are better than other people. That's not really what you're saying is it?"

"Of course that's what I'm saying," Buchanan replied "Isn't it obvious? Anything worth doing on this Earth was done first by white people."

"Who landed on the moon? White people. Who climbed Mount Everest? White people. Who invented the transistor? White people. Who invented paper? White people. Who discovered algebra? White people."

"And don't give me all this nonsense about Martin Luther King and civil rights and all that. Who do you think freed the slaves? Abraham Lincoln. A white guy!"
...."But we're not led by Lincoln anymore, we're led by an affirmative-action mulatto who can't physically understand how great America once was."
"I cried last night G. I cried for hours. It's over for all of us. The great White nation will never survive another 4 years of Obama's leadership"

Liddy tried to reason with Buchanan, reminding him that he shares similar positions with the President on Afghanistan, Iraq, and relations with Russia:
"Of course I agree with half of what he does," Buchanan answered, "He's half white! That's not the half I'm worried about." [Source]

I have to give it to old Pat, at least he is honest.

The last laugh.

"The whole town's laughing at me Silly fool, how'd you lose such a good friend? Oh...Maybe if I had spent more time with you Maybe then, maybe then you still be mine Maybe I think about it And only if I had been just a little more kind to you There'd be no need, for this man to be cryin"

I know that Mitt Romney isn't exactly a Philly International kind of guy when it comes to his music, but I wouldn't be surprised if my man is playing that Teddy Pendergrass classic over and over in his head right about now.

The "good friend", of course, would be the American electorate. The day after an Obama political beat down my man and his minions must be wondering what hit them.

Unemployment at almost 8%,political gridlock in Washington, FOX News in full Benghazi mode, the country heading for a "fiscal cliff", wingnuts foaming at the mouth, and he still couldn't deliver. Is it any wonder that the whole town is laughing?

Of course, as is to be expected, wingnuts are doubling down. They have already started pointing fingers and declaring that the problem was that Mitt wasn't conservative enough. The circular firing squad is getting ready start shooting. Conservative radio was all over Mitt today, and they swear that if they had elected someone further to the right this would not have happened.

Then there are those on the other side. These are the folks the tea party types call the "Washington insiders". Folks like Karl Rove and the talking heads over at FOX. They blame everything from Hurricane Sandy to Candy Crowley being too hard on Mitt in one of the debates. They also want to reach out to Hispanics and women (notice there is nothing about reaching out to Negroes)because, as Rove said last night, Hispanics have many shared values with conservatives and traditional Americans. (See white folks)The problem is, of course, that Hispanics, like black folks, know when and where they are not wanted, ("Self deport", Mitt?) and their memories didn't all of a sudden go away. So the incredible shrinking party will continue to go away. They will continue to pick up votes among poor uneducated Southern whites, who, every year, can be counted to turn states like Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama (and their single digit electoral college votes) red. That's not going to get you to 270. And, thanks in part to candidates like Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock, they will continue to lose young people, minorities, and women from under their tent.

"Had my dream so near I could reach out and touch it And I lost it and I lost it Had a world complete It was, oh, so sweet And I lost it and I lost it."

Don't worry Mitt; there will always be The Olympic Games.

Finally, O is too classy to do it so I will do it for him: To Donald Trump, Peggy Noonan, Michael Medved, Karl Rove, and others; your crow is ready. I hope you like jerk seasoning.

h/t to Greg Fuller for the pic.

Election Day 2012.

It's been a very long day here in Philly. And, in the rest of Pistolvania, some poll workers were still asking folks for their ID, (they can ask, but you didn't have to show it to them) while voting machines are doing some shady things. From all indication this has not been a very smooth process. Heck they are tossing out votes in Florida for crying out loud.

But hey, this is our democracy.

Anyway, I just got back from voting with the Mrs. and the polling station was pretty crowded. That's always a good thing I guess. I even recognized some of the people from my neighborhood. I wonder who they are voting for.

I am not saying who I voted for, but I read this interesting article before I went out and hit the button for the candidate of my choice that I would like to share.

"As I sit here on a flat, gray day, mere hours away from the direction of our nation being sealed, there is a knot of anxiety that will not go away. The 2012 election will decide who we are, where we're going and how many of us will get there.

There are two possible futures, and one of them scares me silly.

This fear isn't based in partisanship, it's not based in "my team" versus "your team." It's based in the reality that Mitt Romney is a chameleon, a changeling, a puff of smoke. We cannot know who he is. We cannot know what he plans to do. He obfuscates and reinvents who he was; there's no way to gauge who he'll be.
People have taken a version of Romney, the version they like, whether it's Conservative Romney or Moderate Romney, Warmonger Romney or Peacetime Romney, Pro-Choice Romney or Constitutional Amendment Romney, Self-Deport Romney or Immigration Romney. Regardless of what he said before or what he says after, Romney supporters have to pick something that appealed to them, and stick with it.

Even if Romney, himself, doesn't.

When I look at Mitt Romney, I see the man who demanded tax returns from his potential running mates yet refused to show us, the voters, his. I see a man who dismissed nearly half of the country in a secretly-recorded video and then said it was "wrong" in a very publicly-recorded "apology." I see a man who claimed he was cancelling political events in the wake Hurricane Sandy, who simply renamed his rally and sprung for $5,000 worth of goods at Walmart.
He gave the appearance of a solution to a problem doesn't actually solve a problem. Usually, it does nothing but make that problem worse, as problems compound themselves when they are not addressed.

Mitt Romney is the embodiment of "giving the appearance." One moment he is one thing, and the next he is another, each with equal certainty and equal confidence. That's one thing during an election, but what does that mean if that person obtains real power?

It's like the prologue of a novel by Aldous Huxley, the lead-up to the takeover that is complete and irreversible. There is always a time before it happens, a time when things can be different.

Now is that time.

And that's why I sit with this knot, the fear of a Romney America very present and very real. I don't know if the real Romney revealed himself in that secret video. I don't know if the real Romney revealed himself in the first presidential debate. I don't know if he revealed himself in the second debate, in that momentary flash of anger when he was fact-checked by moderator Candy Crowley.

I don't know if the real Romney has ever revealed himself, as I don't know if there is a real Mitt Romney. How can we give such enormous power to a man you can never quite see no matter how you look?

Promise me, my fellow citizens, we won't give him real power, as we don't want to find out what happens if we do." [Source]

Oh my! All these strong words trying to influence my vote. Thankfully, I am my own person....

May the best man man with the most money win.

Rosie Lewis will be voting, will you?

None of the presidential candidates or their VPs are talking about poverty, but one of them is talking about religion and values.

"CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -Paul Ryan squeezed in time on a four-stop, five-state day for a conference call with evangelical voters Sunday evening, issuing a warning about a second Obama term saying the president is putting the country on a "dangerous path" that compromises "Judeo-Christian, Western civilization values."

Evangelical leader Ralph Reed's influential group, the Faith and Freedom Coalition, hosted the call and Reed said "tens of thousands" of Evangelical Christians were listening in.

The GOP vice presidential nominee said in the "critical battleground states" it will make a "big difference" if people "are worried about…whether or not we're going to go down the path the president has put us on."

"It's a dangerous path," Ryan said on his opening remarks on the call, which has been rescheduled at least once. "It's a path that grows government, restricts freedom and liberty, and compromises those values, those Judeo-Christian, Western civilization values that made us such a great an exceptional nation in the first place."

Ryan talks about his Catholic faith frequently on the trail, but this evening he went into more detail when a caller from Florida asked him how his faith has given him and his family courage throughout the campaign. Ryan said it "sustains us on a daily basis" and "we pray throughout the day," noting he keeps a rosary in his pocket.

"It keeps us, keeps us humble, it keeps us strong, it keeps us in a great place, it gives us peace of mind," Ryan said. "First prayer I say every morning is the serenity prayer."

"Prayer"?  Doesn't this guy worship at the foot of Ayn Rand? The last time I checked Rand was an atheist. Besides, good "Judeo Christians" do not lie about their marathon times , nor do they take away the safety net from those in need.

Still, politicians who talk about values scare me. Are they going to force their values on me? My values might not square with what their idea of "traditional" values should be.

Anyway, tomorrow is the day of reckoning. It's going to be a long night for some of you folks. If O wins I will watch FOX 24/7 just for laughs. If the  robot wins, I will be here for you Obamaholics to vent. I have broad shoulders; you all can come right here for a good cry. But take heart, just think of all the fun we will have for the next four years.

One person who won't be happy if Obama losses is Rosie Lewis. Rosie will be voting for the first time. Rosie, bless her soul, is 99 years old. Yes, 99!

"A 99-year-old, Obama-loving Fort Myers, Fla., woman voted for the first time in her life after skipping 24 presidential elections, NBC 2 reports.

Rosie Lewis filled out her mail-in ballot in her modest Fort Myers home last week in her favorite chair with her Bible near by. Given that Lewis was 7-years-old when women were granted the right to vote in the U.S. under the 19th Amendment and was in her 50s when Jim Crow laws were abolished, her long wait to cast her ballot comes with a few historical explanations.
SEE ALSO:

But now that she is voting in this crucial election, Lewis is making no secret of who she wants to win. “I love Obama,” she said." [Source]

So do a lot of other Negroes Miss Rosie.

Folks, regardless of who you vote for; just make sure that you go out and vote tomorrow. It's important to make your voice count before money (and those with it) renders you totally insignificant.

I won't tell you who I am voting for, but I will be crip- walking to the voting booth. :)

The suppression push.

I went to see "Flight" with Denzel Washington yesterday. Mrs. Field and I agree that it was a good movie, and Denzel might actually get an Oscar call for his role. (Spoiler alert!) Mrs. Field didn’t like the fact that her boy made his first interracial screen kiss. You sisters, I swear….

Anywhoo, on to more serious things. Once again the politricksters in the state of Ohio seem to be up to no good. This is worth watching because Ohio is where the rubber could meet the road come November 6th.

"With the presidential election happening in just four days, the battleground state of Ohio is once again a major piece of the election puzzle. Already a hotbed for controversial moves and measures concerning the voting rights of its citizens, the “Buckeye State” finds itself on the map again after Republican Secretary of State, Jon Husted, acknowledged that a data glitch could have an effect on thousands of voters ahead of November 6, wrote the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

33,000 updated registration records were felled by a glitch triggered by “change-of-address” records and were resent by Husted’s office to local election officials. Voter rights advocates contend that thousands of absentee-ballot requests may have been incorrectly rejected in Ohio due to the software snafu between the secretary of state offices and the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The Columbus Dispatch reports that county election boards did not have current addresses for a number of registrants.

Initially, up to 100,000 notifications of changed addresses from the bureau’s website did not make their way to the secretary of state’s offices. In just a year’s time, motor vehicles have been sharing its records with Husted’s offices in order to keep a correct tally of registered voters. The glitch was immediately discovered, with the majority of the group able to be processed. The remaining 33,000 records are said to be undergoing process, and the state’s election board promises that there will be enough time to power through the erroneous data.
In related news, a recent ruling in Ohio is especially troubling; this after United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit judges stayed an order that may disenfranchise voters who were directed incorrectly by poll workers to vote in the wrong precincts this disallowing their ballots to be counted. The Bush-appointed panel of conservative judges ruled that it was the voters’

responsibility to know the correct precinct and puts too much of an onus on poll workers. An appeal must be legally heard but it is possible that with less than a week before Election Day, nothing will be done. " [Source]

Here in America, the NAACP has asked for European election monitors to come watch for possible voter suppression going on in some places. Of course this does not sit well with certain people.

"United Nations monitors have no right or jurisdiction whatsoever to intrude upon the sanctity or integrity of the commonwealth's election process," Metcalfe, lead sponsor of the voter-ID legislation, said in a letter to Secretary of the Commonwealth Carol Aichele.
From the News Desk
Aichele's spokesman, Ron Ruman, said decisions about who gets access to polling places was up to county judges of elections.

"Counties run elections in Pennsylvania," Ruman said. "We have nothing to hide and we are proud of the elections process." [Source]

Oh yes, this is the same Carol Aichele who did not know what the voter ID law says in her own state. Nice.

Over 300 of my brethren in the legal profession will be spread out over Philly as volunteers, and the dems will have over 2,500 on the ground all over Pistolvania. I am sure that the republicans will be doing the same thing.

Everyone remembers Gore v. Bush, and no one wants to see a repeat.

Personally, I couldn't agree more.

What we did not cover this election cycle.

It's almost over folks. Just hang in there for a couple of more days.
My prediction: This election will be very close. The winner will be the one with the better organization working the ground game.

We will soon see if America will kick the "black man"out of the people's house and put in the robot with the Etch A Sketch heart.

It seemed that this election season went on forever. Four debates and billions of dollars to elect someone who will basically keep the status quo. You gotta love America.

Anyway, I know what (or who) we did not cover during this election season.

"So far, I have watched all three of the 2012 Presidential and Vice Presidential debates. Each debate lasted approximately 90 minutes. All three moderators were white. The final debate is on Monday. Again, the moderator will be white. The last debate will focus on foreign policy. During these debates, the candidates have discussed important issues such as the economy, taxes, education, women’s rights, health care reform and terrorism. However, none of the debates discussed race or affirmative action.

Race is still a major issue in America. The U.S. Supreme Court is considering whether the University of Texas’ affirmative action policy is constitutional. If the Supreme Court strikes down UT’s affirmative action policy, the doors to higher education will be closed to many African American young people. Universities and colleges will become more and more segregated. However, that issue was not important enough for the debate moderators.

Moreover, the moderators failed to raise the problem of racial profiling. New York City’s racist stop-and-frisk policy has been a major issue in the civil rights community. In New York and many cities around the country, young, innocent black men and women are constantly stopped, harassed and humiliated by police just because of the color of their skin.

Another example of racial profiling is the tragic Trayvon Martin case. This year, self-appointed neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman hunted and shot down Trayvon Martin just because he was black. After great struggle and massive protests, Zimmerman was finally charged with murder.

In addition to racial profiling, mass incarceration was not raised during any of the debates. As explained in Michelle Alexander’s book The New Jim Crow, the so-called War on Drugs has led to the mass incarceration of black people. Due to the mass incarceration problem, a disproportionate percentage of African Americans have been reduced to second class citizens even after they leave prison. In most states, they lose the right to vote and other precious rights.

In this mythological post-racial era, none of those issues matter. Unfortunately, the debates are fixated on issues that mainly impact white, moderate, middle class, undecided voters. As far as the presidential debates are concerned, black people are invisible and our concerns are irrelevant.

These debates have taught me one thing. In the eyes of the debate organizers and most of the viewers, the plight of Big Bird is far more important than the plight of my people. “Binders full of women” are more important than prisons full of black people." [Source]

That was a well written and very on point essay from my man Anson Asaka.

Anson, in three days all this might not even matter. If the robot wins there will be no talk of a post racial America. Everyone will go into their respective corners and play pretend. Folks in the majority population will get to pretend that they are living in the greatest country on earth, and the folks in the minority population will get to pretend that they are a part of it.

The white Katrina?

I am still waiting for some country and western singer to declare that Barack Obama doesn't care about white people. The white version of Katrina is playing itself out in New York these days. (I see you Staten Island) Folks were crying on television last night and wondering where their government was. One woman, bless her heart, was crying that she didn't have food and hadn't slept or taken a bath in days. They were blaming the Red Cross and the folks in Manhattan for overlooking them. Thankfully, the Mayor of New York had enough sense to cancel the NY Marathon this year.

It's still too early to blame O, but you know it's coming if these people don't get power and electricity, soon. FEMA is giving it the old college try, and, for the most part, the states and their officials all seem to be doing what they have to do. But this is the East Coast, and tempers are getting shorter as supplies get scarce.

"Frustration grew for superstorm Sandy's victims in the U.S. Northeast on Friday, many of whom were left with no power, no gasoline and little information about when their shattered lives might return to normal.

Acute gasoline shortages in the city's storm-battered outer boroughs and New Jersey led to long lines and short tempers.

Tankers finally began entering New York Harbor on Thursday, and a tanker carrying 2 million barrels of gasoline arrived at 2 a.m. (0600 GMT) on Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said."

At least O didn't do a flyover.

The worse thing that could happen to us poor folks here in Pistolvania is Mitt Romney and his crew thinking that they have a shot to win the state. Now, unfortunately, we are being inundated with political ad. after ad. Mitt throws em out there, and Barack responds. I am seeing more of Mitt and Barack now than I did while watching the debates. Not to mention these ads that all the super PACs are running. Help me, please!!

Anyway, I am not sure how all these last minute ads will shape up things. Folks have pretty much made up their minds by now. If they haven't, they probably won't even vote.

Here in Philly (and I suspect other places)  these Negroes have already made up their minds. Trust me when I tell you that they will be on that O train. But will it be enough? Out in Western Pistolvania and other places like it, the other guy will be getting their vote. In Pistolvania it will come down to a few suburban counties (I see you Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery) where suburban college educated white women will decide if they will give Obama another chance, or if they will take a chance with Flipper.

Voting power.

Just five days to go before America elects their new president. These are desperate times for folks who want power, and believe me; they will do everything possible to get it.

"A controversial Virginia marketing and polling firm appears to have used a legal loophole to bombard scores of Americans with unsolicited text messages berating President Barack Obama less than a week before Election Day. More than a dozen different messages landed on the screens of phone users late on Tuesday, originating from mysterious websites instead of phone numbers. They attacked Obama and Democrats on a variety of issues such as abortion, foreign policy, same-sex marriage and taxation.

The domain names of those websites had been registered with GoDaddy.com through a firm that masks original owners.

On Wednesday, Reuters compiled a list of at least nine websites gathered from reporters who received the political text messages. A review of websites that track domain name registrations revealed that three of the nine websites that sent the messages were registered by Jason Flanary. Those sites had been suspended for spam and abuse.

An email for Jason Flanary indicated he works for ccAdvertising, a division of FreeEats.com Inc. Neither Flanary or the firm returned requests for comment.
CcAdvertising's website says: "All ccAdvertising services are compliant with all Do Not Call regulations and exceptions." [More]

Wow!  Honestly, I have to give it to these guys; they sure know how to work the system. I know that the dems say that they have a great ground game in  place, but how can they compete with guys like this? (Did you know that one of Mitt's sons owns a stake in some of our voting machines?) I think that we have moved way beyond just knocking on doors and getting folks out to vote in America. It is game on out here, folks.

Finally, in keeping with the they will do anything to win, theme, it seems that there has been some shenanigans going on down in Florida.

"Missing absentee ballots and long lines for early voting sites have left many South Floridians unable to participate in this year’s elections.

Voters have yet to receive absentee ballots from Broward County’s elections office, requested weeks prior. Early voting lines in Miami-Dade have wait times ranging up to six hours. In Aventura, officers turned away voters who couldn’t locate parking spots. This prompted a county commissioner to organize a shuttle from the distant lots to the polls.

Over in Miami Gardens, former Florida governor, Charlie Crist, made an appearance, asking Governor Rick Scott to extend early voting hours for all the state’s counties. But Scott, who authorized a law limiting voting days to 8 from 14 last year, is unlikely to listen. Scott also cut early voting the Sunday before Election Day. Seeing as how that day has traditionally been when African-Americans churchgoers drive to the polls in droves, many viewed the law as a way to disenfranchise blacks from voting." [Source]

And it's not even November 6th yet.
