Dr. Ben's remedy.

Earlier, Carson had said that if he had been present at the Oregon attack, he would "not just stand there and let him shoot me. I would say, 'Hey guys, everybody attack him. He may shoot me, but he can't get us all.'"

Anyway, keep in mind that this man is polling number two in the republican primary race for president.

Still, apparently Dr.Ben feels that he can speak this way about this issue because he has had his own personal experience to call on.

"Carson also told to SiriusXM radio host Karen Hunter on Wednesday that he was once held at gunpoint at a Popeye's fried chicken fast food restaurant in Baltimore. But his approach was nothing like the one he advocated.

"Guy comes in, puts the gun in my ribs. And I just said, "I believe that you want the guy behind the counter,'" Carson recounted in his usual, laid-back tone. "He said, 'Oh, okay,' and moved on."

First of all Dr. Ben, what the hell are you doing at Popeye's? As a physician,you,of all people,  should know that fried foods are not good for you.

Honestly, the guy holding the gun on Dr. Ben probably fell asleep when the good doctor started talking. When he (the robber) said, "Oh okay",  he was just waking up.

Serious question: Why can't the republican party recruit a serious African American candidate to represent them on the national stage? (Colin Powell where are you?) First Herman Cain and now this guy. It's embarrassing.

Finally, speaking of republican presidential candidates. Now that you can get around South Carolina easier in a boat than you can a car, their senior senator is asking for federal aid.

It's funny how that works. You should never turn your back on others because one day you might be in the same boat. (No pun intended.)

Lindsey Graham thought that it was cool to play politics and vote against Sandy storm relief  for the people in New Jersey. Now his decision is coming back to haunt him, and he swears that he doesn't remember ever voting against getting the people of New Jersey federal funds.

Lindsey, maybe this will help refresh your memory:

"South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is seeking federal aid after his home state was ravaged by deadly floods amid historic rainfall triggered by Hurricane Joaquin.

“Let’s just get through this thing,” Graham said in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on “The Situation Room” Monday. “And whatever it costs, it costs.”

But in 2013, Graham was among 36 Senate Republicans who voted against giving similar aid to New Jersey in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. (The bill passed in a 62 to 36 vote.)

Graham told Blitzer he didn’t remember opposing the $50.5 billion Sandy relief bill.

“I’m all for helping the people in New Jersey. I don’t really remember me voting that way,” Graham said. “I don’t really recall that, but I’d be glad to look and tell you why I did vote no, if I did.”

Graham wasn’t the only 2016 presidential candidate to oppose Sandy relief. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz also voted against the package.

“Hurricane Sandy inflicted devastating damage on the East Coast, and Congress appropriately responded with hurricane relief. Unfortunately, cynical politicians in Washington could not resist loading up this relief bill with billions in new spending utterly unrelated to Sandy,” Cruz told the Houston Chronicle at the time. “This bill is symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington — an addiction to spending money we do not have. The United States Senate should not be in the business of exploiting victims of natural disasters.” [Source]

Well, as it turns out, he has a problem as well.

"But as floodwaters raged in Texas earlier this year, Cruz praised the federal support his state was receiving.

“We’re seeing cooperation from state government, the local government and the federal government all standing together at a time of great challenge,” Cruz said".

On second thought, I think that Dr. Ben will do just fine in the republican primary.

The white Katrina?

I am still waiting for some country and western singer to declare that Barack Obama doesn't care about white people. The white version of Katrina is playing itself out in New York these days. (I see you Staten Island) Folks were crying on television last night and wondering where their government was. One woman, bless her heart, was crying that she didn't have food and hadn't slept or taken a bath in days. They were blaming the Red Cross and the folks in Manhattan for overlooking them. Thankfully, the Mayor of New York had enough sense to cancel the NY Marathon this year.

It's still too early to blame O, but you know it's coming if these people don't get power and electricity, soon. FEMA is giving it the old college try, and, for the most part, the states and their officials all seem to be doing what they have to do. But this is the East Coast, and tempers are getting shorter as supplies get scarce.

"Frustration grew for superstorm Sandy's victims in the U.S. Northeast on Friday, many of whom were left with no power, no gasoline and little information about when their shattered lives might return to normal.

Acute gasoline shortages in the city's storm-battered outer boroughs and New Jersey led to long lines and short tempers.

Tankers finally began entering New York Harbor on Thursday, and a tanker carrying 2 million barrels of gasoline arrived at 2 a.m. (0600 GMT) on Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said."

At least O didn't do a flyover.

The worse thing that could happen to us poor folks here in Pistolvania is Mitt Romney and his crew thinking that they have a shot to win the state. Now, unfortunately, we are being inundated with political ad. after ad. Mitt throws em out there, and Barack responds. I am seeing more of Mitt and Barack now than I did while watching the debates. Not to mention these ads that all the super PACs are running. Help me, please!!

Anyway, I am not sure how all these last minute ads will shape up things. Folks have pretty much made up their minds by now. If they haven't, they probably won't even vote.

Here in Philly (and I suspect other places)  these Negroes have already made up their minds. Trust me when I tell you that they will be on that O train. But will it be enough? Out in Western Pistolvania and other places like it, the other guy will be getting their vote. In Pistolvania it will come down to a few suburban counties (I see you Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery) where suburban college educated white women will decide if they will give Obama another chance, or if they will take a chance with Flipper.
















 

The wrath of Sandy.

This storm is real folks. Cranes are hanging in New York, and here in Philly we are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. The Mayor and all the usual suspects have been on television all day telling the folks here to be safe and to listen to the warnings that are being given. Hopefully my peeps will listen.

The feds have given all the states what they needed so far, and from what I can tell, FEMA (the same agency that Mitt wanted to privatize) has been on their game. The last thing that O needs is a "Brownie you're doing a heck of a job", moment.

I caught O's live news conference as well, and so far so good. One reporter asked him how Sandy would affect the upcoming elections and he didn't bite. I am glad to see that he has his priorities right.

Mitt, as he always does in a moment of crisis, has been trying to play Commander in Chief as well. For his sake I hope that this works out better then his other attempt to meddle in the day to day affairs of the office of president. 

I am going to hurry with this post, because I could lose power any minute now.
