A pervert goes to Washington?

Image result for roy moore images"  "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me..."

I think Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore has a different take on the scriptures.

I bet the good book was not around when he (Moore) was allegedly sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl back in the day.

The GOP can't seem to catch a break these days. Roy Moore, if you believe the polls, will soon join his colleagues in Washington. And if you believe the well sourced story from the Washington Post, his buddies in the senate will have a pedophile to answer for.

Of course this will be nothing new to them. They have been defending a president who has been accused of sexually assaulting numerous women, and who has admitted that he likes to assault women  all along.

As long as they can push through their agenda, it doesn't matter how morally bankrupt their ideological soul-mates are. Down in Alabama the auditor general of that state is actually using the aforementioned bible to defend the actions of Moore.

" Even if the allegations of sexual misconduct made against Roy Moore are true, it's no big deal that he was a 32-year-old man initiating an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl, because the Bible is filled with stories of older men with younger women, Alabama State Auditor Jim Ziegler told The Washington Examiner Thursday.

"Take the Bible, Zachariah and Elizabeth for instance," Ziegler said. "Zachariah was extremely old to marry Elizabeth and they became the parents of John the Baptist. Also take Joseph and Mary. Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter. They became parents of Jesus. There's just nothing immoral or illegal here. Maybe just a little bit unusual."'

Who knew that pedophilia was a religious thing? So let me get this straight, Roy Moore is Joseph and his poor (alleged) 14 year old victim is Mary?  OK then.

The news of Mr. Moore's alleged escapades comes on the day we learned that the president was offered five women as a gift from the Russian government on a trip there in 2013. His bodyguard said they didn't take the Russians up on their offer, and that he just laughed about it.

That's the bodyguard's story and he is sticking to it.

Open thread Wednesday.

MORE DISCLAIMERSIt's open thread Wednesday field hands, and I need your thoughts on a few things.

When black people lie about racism, does it hurt blacks who have suffered from real racism?

Did you find NBC using the n word on prime time to be offensive?

Do you think it's a big deal that the government might be trying to meddle in the Time Warner AT&T merger deal to punish CNN?

Finally, is it ever good for a white person to whitesplain slavery to a person of color?

"How to manage our idiot president." .

Image result for trump idiot images    Mr. trump's party suffered some bad losses tonight, but he is still the president, and he will more than likely be in Washington for the next three years.  (Maybe)

So here is a Slate article from earlier this year which will give us an insight on how to deal with the current president.

The Field Negro education series continues.

"It can be tempting to latch onto one of Donald Trump’s less-admirable qualities and assign it almost supernatural explanatory power. The way to understand the chaos he’s unleashed is through his narcissism. His showmanship. His anger. (That last one was mine.) I have come to fear, though, that we’ve been neglecting our president’s stupidity. Americans knew evil was banal, but we never dreamed it could be this dumb.

Any journalistic attempt to convey the parameters of Trump’s dumbness is indistinguishable from insult comedy—one of many reasons, perhaps, that Trump hates newspapers. We have begun to drape him in the language of the very young or the very old: He is a toddler mid-tantrum, an impulsive boy-king, a syphilitic emperor with Swiss cheese for brains. He is anything but an adult human with the discipline to, for instance, read a paragraph of text that does not have his name in it.

Trump is so unfit for office that his underlings must scheme to maintain a modicum of normalcy in the White House. Everyone who interacts with our idiot president is responsible for making sure the American experiment doesn’t turn into an entry in The Darwin Awards. His aides and friends and diplomatic partners are handmaidens and babysitters and kindergarten teachers and ventriloquists. (Turns out Trump is the puppet, but the scary kind that might come at you with a cleaver.) The brave men and women of Washington are stuck playing that old-timey game where you make subtle motions to tilt a wooden board and steer a big silver marble through a labyrinth. In this version of the game, though, the marble is an autocrat with the attention span of an infant, and if you lose then you get fired.

The U.S. government, once a solemn ballet of checks and balances, has become a demeaning spectacle in which lackeys try to coax a bull through the orchestra pit without crushing all the instruments. Until Republican senators decide a concert hall is not an appropriate place to store a bull, we all must do our part. Herein are strategies Trump’s handlers have already used to appease, distract, and cajole their obstreperous charge. And in the interest of saving the world from imminent destruction, we’ve included a few suggestions of our own.

As noted above, members of the National Security Council have, per a Reuters source, taken to strategically sprinkling the president’s moniker in “as many paragraphs [of their briefs] as we can because he keeps reading if he’s mentioned.” How might this look in practice? A Defense Department factotum could write: “Diplomatic TRUMP and ideological crosscurrents hampered U.S. efforts TRUMP to slow nuclear proliferation TRUMP in North Korea during the first Bush TRUMP administration TRUMP.”

Of course, as The Far Side reminds us, there’s a still danger that his eyes will flit past all the words but one.

When asked by Tom Friedman how global warming might affect Trump golf courses, the mogul-in-chief promised to “look very carefully” at the issue. From this we can infer that appeals to the president’s assets might lead him to at least consider averting a worldwide catastrophe. I suggest implicating the Trump brand further by encouraging the POTUS to “fire” climate change on live TV.

Methods for sweeping the strings of Trump’s self-interest are as numberless as the stars in the sky. This next one comes courtesy of a Politico story, which reveals that “White House aides have figured out it’s best not to present Trump with too many competing options when it comes to matters of policy of strategy. Instead … present him with a single preferred course of action and then walk him through what the outcome could be—especially how it will play in the press.” It’s all about the ratings......

“White House and former campaign aides have tried to make sure Trump’s media diet includes regular doses of praise and positive stories to keep his mood up—a tactic honed by staff during the campaign to keep him from tweeting angrily,” reports the Post.

Why not apply this technique more broadly? Make sure complicated documents such as trade agreements are salted with notes like “Go Trump!” and “You’re doing great!”
Also, if the president goes a week without “tweeting angrily,” he should be allowed to order a drone strike on a patch of uninhabited Arizona desert.

Don’t leave him alone with world leaders—or anyone, really.

Senior administration officials told the New York Times they are afraid to let Trump speak to foreign heads of state unchaperoned. No wonder, given that the president is entirely ignorant of the issues he would presumably be discussing with his important guests. Also, what if he puts a whole box of those presidential M&M’s in his mouth at once? Embarrassing, and a possible choking hazard.

If he starts babbling sensitive intelligence at the Russian ambassador, intervene.

Ask him where he got his tie. If that doesn’t work, tackle him. If he persists, press the button that controls his shock collar. If that also fails, commence impeachment proceedings."[Source]

Two videos.

TWEET METonight's post will not be about me pontificating or giving my opinion about one subject or another.

Tonight I simply want you field hands to view a couple of videos of incidents which took place recently and give me your opinions about each of them.

Please tell me what first came to your mind when you saw each one, and whether you think that the law enforcement official  (or the person being arrested) was the bad actor.

Here is the first video which takes place at a University of Alabama football game.

Here is the second video which takes place at a University of Miami football game.

Thoughts?

I have my own, but I am curious to know what you think.

Another mass killing in America.

"May God be w/ the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI & law enforcement are on the scene. I am monitoring the situation from Japan," Trump tweeted shortly after reports of the incident."

Sorry Mr. trump, "God" didn't help those dead people (twenty six by the latest count) in Sutherland Springs, Texas. They were in church , if God couldn't help them there, it's a safe bet that they are pretty much out of luck.

But you know what might be able to help the next poor victims of gun violence? More sensible gun laws. We say it every time there is one of these mass shootings in America, and we are
starting to sound like one big broken record, but until politricksters show the political will to
stand up to the NRA and the gun crazies in this country, there will be more to come.

A few days ago a terrorist killed eight people in New York with a car, and Mr. trump and his minions were calling for Muslim bans and extreme vetting of people who come to this country. He couldn't wait to get political after that act of terrorism. Now we will hear that we shouldn't be politicizing this latest tragedy, because it's time for mourning and praying to "God" for the families. I think it's safe to say that just praying to God is not enough. What we need  is real action along with getting our collective heads out of our asses.

I know that the technical definition of  terrorism is that when terror or fear is spread to achieve a political, religious or ideological goal, but try telling that to those people in that church today. I am sure that those poor survivors were terrified. So are the hardworking people in some of these crime ridden neighborhoods in large urban spaces like Philly. These people have to deal with little urban terrorist killing each other over turf and money on a daily basis. Terrorism takes many forms. and these politicians like the president should stop treating it differently depending on whether it suits their political agenda.

"A young man standing outside the hospital, his head bandaged and his right arm taped from where an IV had been put in, said he had been wounded in the shooting and that this father had been killed.
His mother was in another hospital. He declined to talk but expressed faith that they would pull through with God's help."

Sorry young man, I think God wants us to fix this ourselves.

Coming out of the woodwork.

TWEET MEAs the president of the United States continues to wage war against the black and poor people in his country, we are starting to hear some first hand accounts about some of his other racist supporters as well.

"2017 seems to be the year that racists have stopped pretending they aren't racist. What we used to call dog-whistle signaling in more civilized times has given way to people from all walks of life coming out of the closet, so to speak — from President Donald Trump's obtuse attacks on Mexicans and Muslims (among others), to the case of literal Neo-Nazis letting their freak flags fly in Charlottesville, and now in the debate of athletes kneeling in protest of police brutality during the national anthem.

If you find yourself surprised daily at how low we will go, know that you are not alone. Dan Gilbert says he's rattled by the number of "vile, disgusting, racist" voicemails he received after his Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James called President Donald Trump a "bum" on Twitter.

Gilbert made the comments on CNBC's "Squawk Box":
"Look, you've got rhetoric on both sides. You know, emotions on both sides of this thing ... To me, it's about allowing people to talk and getting together ... look, some of the issues — forget the methods of protest — but there are some legitimate issues, real legitimate things that have been in America for a long time ... I received voicemails after LeBron tweeted that that were some of the most vile, disgusting, racist ... there's an element of racism that I didn't even know existed in this country. When I got those voicemails, I saved them."
He also added:
"I didn't even tell LeBron this. Now he's gonna know. The thing is, I mean, some of the most disgusting things I've ever heard people say. And you could hear it in their voice ... the racism. It wasn't even really about the issue, and that's what really got me, because they went to who they really are, some of them."
Gilbert's Quicken Loans donated $750,000 to Trumps's inauguration party. In June, Trump called Gilbert a "great friend" and "huge supporter" during a visit to the White House. Previously, Gilbert has also donated to Trump's GOP rival Chris Christie, as well as $75,000 to a Democratic fundraiser to Hilary Clinton and other candidates.

Our major question is:Who are all of these racists who have Gilbert's phone number?" [Source]

Finally, we now know that the attorney general of the United States perjured himself, and that the president lied about knowing about a meeting with a former campaign adviser and felon  (I thought he had the greatest memory of all time.)

I hope that  we are  ready to get serious about this Russian investigation and trump's Russia problem.

Frank is exposed.

TWEET ME"Field, why aren't you blogging about that police chief in South Jersey who compared Negroes to Isis?"

I am doing it now.

Honestly, though, I am not as outraged as some other folks. I happen to be really cynical when it comes to racism.  I wouldn't be surprised if Mrs. Claus and Santa drop the n word to each other when they talk about having to deliver toys to little black children. I expect that type of behavior from certain folks, so when they are exposed I am never surprised.

The following case comes from South Jersey,  not South Carolina

" Frank Nucera Jr. was the police chief in the small township of Bordentown, N.J., until he abruptly retired in February 2017 after investigators began looking into what authorities said was his history of racially motivated violence and hate speech. Nucera came under scrutiny after an 18-year-old accused him of bashing his head into a doorway and officers recorded him calling black suspects the n-word

William E. Fitzpatrick, acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey, called Nucera’s actions “a shocking breach of the duty of every police officer to provide equal justice under the law and never to mistreat a person in custody.”

Much of the evidence in the complaint comes from secret recordings made by one of Nucera’s fellow officers who was “increasingly alarmed by [Nucera’s] racist remarks and hostilities toward African Americans,” he said.

As officers walked the couple to the patrol car, Nucera grabbed the young man and slammed his head into a metal doorjamb, even though, the complaint points out, the young man “was not kicking or struggling.” The 18-year-old complained that he might have a concussion but didn’t want to go to the hospital after Nucera miraculously cured the young man by hitting him again in the back of the neck, according to the complaint. A few hours later, a police officer recorded Nucera making comments about the suspects and about black people in general.

“I tell you what, it’s going to get to the point where I could shoot one of these motherfuckers,” Nucera allegedly said in the recording. “And that nigger bitch lady, she almost got it.”
The Courier-Post reports that Lucera went on to say:
I just, you know what? It would have been nice if that dog could have come up. ’Cause they would have stopped, put down.
That dog, that dog will stop anything right then and there [makes dog sound]. I’m telling you. You’d have seen two fucking niggers stop dead. I love when they do that. I just love that.

According to the unsealed papers, Nucera had a history of using police dogs to intimidate African Americans. He reportedly enjoyed posting police dogs near the entrance of the gymnasium at high school basketball games when the mostly white town played majority-black schools to intimidate the black fans.

On another instance, the same officer who recorded Nucera after the hotel arrest taped the 60-year-old police chief talking about a black man or boy who was accused of slashing the tires of a police car.

“I wish that nigger would come back from Trenton [N.J.] and give me a reason to put my hands on him,” Nucera is quoted as saying in the secret recording. “I’m tired of ’em. These niggers are like ISIS; they have no value. They should line them all up and mow ’em down. I’d like to be on the firing squad, I could do it.” [Source]

Ignorant racist drops the n word; no harm no foul. But when you are a police chief with all types of power at your finger tips, it becomes a problem.

There are a lot more Frank Nuceras out there. And they are only taking a cue from their president. He is the guy who is calling for the execution of a terror suspect without a trial, and who called the American justice system a "laughing stock."  Imagine that.

An American president calling for the elimination of due process, and disparaging the system of justice we have fought so hard to make the best and most just in the world.

I hate to break it to the president,  but his presidency is the "laughing stock."

Lately it's been one joke after another.
