If you are poor and you heard Flipper this morning on CNN you must have felt really bad, because you know now that if he becomes president of these divided states of A-merry-ca, he will not care about you.

"We have a very ample safety net and we can talk about whether it needs to be strengthened or whether there are holes in it. But we have food stamps, we have Medicaid, we have housing vouchers, we have programs to help the poor," Romney said. "But the middle-income Americans, they're the folks that are really struggling right now."
But then of course Flipper was in typical Flipper mode later in the day.

I've said throughout the campaign my focus, my concern, my energy is gonna be devoted to helping middle income people, all right? We have a safety net for the poor in, and if there are holes in it, I will work to repair that. And if there are people that are falling through the cracks I want to fix that." Agreed, the 91% tax rate for the highest earners definitely helped spur entrepreneuship. Maybe if we brought that back we could have some more of the 50's growth. I mean I'm sure all of the banking regulations were relaxed in the 50's. I agree with Slappz.

I would say trailer parks in 2012 are much nicer than trailer parks in 1950.
Detroit on the other hand, has gone from one of the greatest cities in the world to crumbling ruins.

Well, to a hillbilly who lives in a trailer park with his sister/cousin/wife I guess it is actually a nice place to live but as a middle class professional who lives in a condo it sucks. I have some airline pilot friends who live in Detroit and their places are pretty nice.
