No wonder the poor guy can't find a church.

I know that it's April Fool's Day but this is not a joke: Right wingers and the Fox News folks are losing their minds because of what the pastor said where president Obama attended church  on Easter Sunday.(BTW, I love the suit, O. It's nice to see a president with a sense of style.)

Apparently the preacher told the truth about the religious right and they were not too pleased about it. They blame Obama for controlling the man's speech and giving him a secret sermon to talk about the right and their intolerance for others.

"The sermon at the service, delivered by Dr. Luis Leon, an Episcopal pastor who delivered the benediction at Mr. Obama's second inauguration, took a turn for the political when the pastor decried those who wax nostalgic about the way things once were.

"I hear all the time the expression 'the good old days'," Leon said. "Well, the good old days, we forget they have been good for some, but they weren't good for everybody.

"You can't go back, you can't live in the past," he added. "It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling people back...for Blacks to be back in the back of the bus, for women to be back in the kitchen, for gays to be in the closet and for immigrants to be on their side of the border."

"What you and I understand," Leon said, "is that when Jesus says, 'You can't hang onto me,' he says, 'You know it's not about the past, it's not about the before, it's not about the way things were, but about the way things can be in the now.'"

The reaction from the idiots on the right was swift. Now the White House is facing questions. Why? Even if what the preacher said was wrong (which it wasn't), what does his sermon have to do with this White House? This is the same preacher who ministered to other presidents over the years, including republican ones. And yet we are hearing from republicans that this particular president actually "inspires racism." (That was not a joke. A popular republican actually said that.) I hope that when reflecting on president Obama's eight years in office, they will actually see the irony of that statement.

Still, this is all so sad. In the age of Obama all white men are victims. They find themselves having to defend their whiteness, or they complain about being left out. Being white in America has gotten to be such a drag, lately.

Finally, a big shout out to my girl Nordette for turning me on to this story and keeping it alive.

If it wasn't for black bloggers like Nordette stories like this would not get told or get as much shine as they should.

Don't worry Nordette, as soon as the rest of the main stream media picks up on it Rev. Al and company will be around. It just takes them all a little longer to catch up.

Let us hope that there is justice for the family of Brian Harris when this is all over.

Thank you, Field, for using your blog to draw attention to Brian Harris's story. The video of his death is unbelievable. I have to find out what is the "controlling law" the judge felt she had to follow to toss out the wrongful death suit.

what does his sermon have to do with this White House?

This 'White House' has a history of of attending racist churches. You would think he would have the sense to stay away from lunatic, moonbat pastors who hate America. But I guess he must want to be associated with anti-white and anti-American rhetoric. It's how he rolls. Barack Obama is the most divisive, hateful, racist President America has ever had the shame to have.

Dear Mr Field, the Rev had no business getting political delivering a sermon on Easter Sunday sermon. It should have been about Christ, not some right-wingers. I am sure you know the pastor was wrong. Anybody can see that.

Furthermore, I am sure the President and his family didn't appreciate the politics in the Church, either. I mean, it must have been embarrassing for the President. For Christ's sake! can't a President go to church and hear a sermon about rhe Resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday without the pastor getting all political? Who would do that? An ass-kissing pastor, that's who. It's sickening. Right-winged Whites and Left-winged Whites are effing crazy when it comes to a black President. Totally insane. None of this shit would be happening if Cain had been elected.

Desert, you know I'm right.

Field, I am so depressed over this post that I am going to have my two glasses of wine and going to bed.

You have wasted my time and life, and taken up valuable internet space over bullshit. It is obvious that you don't have an ounce of religion in your blood. You are probably nothing but a Leftist Commie, and a black one at that.

Let us also hope there is justice for the family of Antonio Santiago after all this emotional pornography ends as well.

Field, the murder of the black man took place in your favorite state of Louisiana. Isn't that where you and wife go to vacation during the holidays? I suggest you stay the hell out of Louisiana, regardless of what part of that Klansman state you go to.

BTW, what happened to the hangings in Dover, DE? Why have you gone silent on this? You sorry Liberals will shout from the tree tops when right-wingers try to cover up. But when it comes to Left-wingers, you remain silent. You folks are such double-minded tyrants..

White men have always played the victim card. And it is funny when they talk about the "good old days" and "states rights". Either they don't understand what it meant to some of us or just don't give a rip. Either way empathy and awareness have never been big with the majority.

President Obama certainly got in the spirit of things:

President Barack Obama, who has increased the national debt by $53,377 per household, has proclaimed April“National Financial Capability Month,” during which his administration will do things such as teach young people “how to budget responsibly.”

“I call upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices,” Obama said in an official proclamation released Friday.

“My Administration is dedicated to helping people make sound decisions in the marketplace,” he said.

“Together, we can prepare young people to tackle financial challenges–from learning how to budget responsibly to saving for college, starting a business, or opening a retirement account,” he said.

“My Administration continues to encourage responsibility at all levels of our financial system by cracking down on deceptive practices and ensuring that consumers are informed of their rights,” he said.

You gotta love the man's sense of humor, even if he is intentionally bankrupting the country. If I wasn't so broke, I'd laugh.

Why don't we just split up and you make your way and we make ours.

We will have fences to keep you out and away from the fruits of our efforts. Count on it. You can stand outside and cry all day how it's racist.

Being white in America has gotten to be such a drag, lately. – Field Negro

It’s not that being white has gotten to be such a drag lately, rather, it’s because the president of the United States of Amerikkka is now black. And everything he does is either further scrutinized or placed under a microscope for bullshit analysis for the RupubMafia bobble-heads!

The worst places in America for minorities to live are run lock, stock and barrel by the Democrat Party and yet the residents of those areas overwhelmingly blame Republicans for their plight.

To the guy who suggested "splitting up": field-negro and all similar-minded guys don't want it, they wanna whine indefinitely and make demands. When you meet the demands, they move the goalpost and cry again. This is actually the "justice" that they mean when they cry about justice. This makes sense to them. Splitting up would obviously be the easy solution, but field-negroes still need to eat and have electricity before they can pontificate and cry. You can't leave and you can't turn down the volume.

BTW, the prez is a mulatto, elected by whites.

-----

Weren't the old days good in that blacks had been making steady progress, when black neighborhoods functioned with black professionals and black businesses, children were raised in two parent families, and the rampant violence and mayhem of today were largely absent?

When the Federal Government violated state's rights and imposed liberal socialist racial equalitarianism across the states, everything started to go to hell.

The "good old days" weren't that bad.

You guys are confusing me. (And I'm in Mensa, so it's not just me.)

I thought it was wrong to say things like "all white men are victims" or "white men have always played the victim card" or "white men smell funny".

I thought all statements like that were prejudicial stereotyping based on logical fallacies, and all people who said things like that were moronic bigots.

Personally, I'm a white guy who is also disabled and so I've experienced prejudices and -isms from my own vantage.

I believe we ALL have some prejudices in our thinking, because none of us have unlimited knowledge and we all fear whatever it is we don't understand just a little. It's natural.

I believe how we behave toward others is what defines us, though, not what we initially think. I believe making the mistake that what we initially think matters, so it is not policed and it translates to our actions, results in bigotry. I believe that is a sad, immature, cowardly, and dangerous thing.

So, though I am sometimes prejudiced, I feel safe in saying I'm NOT racist. That is my standpoint on racism or any other type of bigotry.

Saying things like "all these people are wrong" is in itself wrong. I can understand why you might be inclined to think that, but you are becoming what you don't want to be at that point, because it's not true.

All I can say is I'm a white male and I certainly don't play any racial victim card or any other type of victim. So there you have it, you're wrong about that one. I really don't care if I'm the only white male who doesn't - you're still wrong, because I exist.

Now, I can understand why you are inclined to feel that way. The right is ridiculous. Racists are pouring out of the freakin' woodwork these days. It's really insane. In a sense though, maybe that beats them sitting around secretly as they have largely tended to do in the past.

Proclaiming "all white men are this" is racist. I thought this site was about fighting racism.

Sorry. I think this is the closest you've come to losing my readership, Field. I'm not going anywhere, but damn.

Damn, that's pretty good quantum0d0, because you just described the behavior of the vast majority of whites over the past 500 years or so. And what are the totality of the human cost? War, Rape, Pillaging, Enslavement, Reenslavement, Jim Crow and more unnecessary wars!

Is this the type of behavior you're referring to?

Except for those who could not use public facilities because of the color of their skin, were threatened with death for not getting off the sidewalk for a white person fast enough and could be killed for whistling or liiking at a white woman. Yeah, those days were f'n great huh?
Let's see now, today we have more blah doctors, lawyers, pilots and can get into any school without fear of discrimination. You must be a white male.

Yep, until racists destroyed these businesses without fear of punishment. See Tulsa 1921.

Now excuse me while I go to a blah owned restaurant with my fellow blah professional friends. SMDH

The above is an excerpt from his sermon and I think it was quite apropos. Very nice.

Its not me that is looking to invade your house and you know it.

If you do come to my neighborhood you would be treated normally.

If I came to yours, I am sure I would need to reload a few times.
It's just pretty much a fact looking at Black on White Attacks and Black crime percentages.

Those folks will be inside your fence in the future, only fair - you created them. Now you feed em.

Looking at the behavior of "those" today, obviously there was a reason to keep them out of public facilities, off the sidewalk, and away from white women.

In 2005 alone, there were 37,000 rapes of white women by black men, versus zero rapes of black women by white men:

Jim Crow was in large part justified.

Separation of church and state?

At the urging of the state Republican chairman, one of the city’s most influential ministers is weighing whether to jump into the already crowded race for mayor, the Daily News has learned.

The Rev. A.R. Bernard, pastor of the Christian Cultural Center, a Brooklyn megachurch with 35,000 members, acknowledged Friday that he has been talking with political leaders and elected officials about a possible candidacy.
Question:
Who are his constituents his base and who are his supporters?

From Islam(not my choice) to Republican is there an agenda? And is the good Rev an uncle named Thom, a liar, a hypocrite or an opportunist Or is he simply a man who has a choice?

And now what is his connect to Rev AL

REV. A. R. BERNARD ALLEGEDLY DENIED ON AL SHARPTON RADIO SHOW TOLD CHURCH MEMBERS NOT TO VOTE AT ALL: BLACK CHURCH WHAT DOES GOD SAY?

Earlier while tuning into Rev. Al Sharpton’s radio show, we heard the pastor of Christian Cultural Center, Rev. A. R. Bernard’s alleged statement of denial that he told his church members to not vote, at all.

We heard him allegedly say, various journalists took one part of what he said and made it seem as though he was not in support of voting, at all. We do not know if Rev. A. R. Bernard was having this conversation with Rev. Al Sharpton and his good friend…Read full article, here.

FN "(BTW, I love the suit, O. It's nice to see a president with a sense of style.)" BUT..unfortunately..there is another POV:

by BAR executive editor Glen Ford

“Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton appeared like ghoulish despots at a Roman Coliseum, reveling in their Libyan gladiators’ butchery.”

Last week the whole world saw, and every decent soul recoiled, at the true face of NATO’s answer to the Arab Spring. An elderly, helpless prisoner struggled to maintain his dignity in a screaming swirl of savages, one of whom thrusts a knife [4] up his rectum. These are Europe and America’s jihadis in the flesh. In a few minutes of joyously recorded bestiality, the rabid pack undid every carefully packaged image of NATO’s “humanitarian” project in North Africa – a horror and revelation indelibly imprinted on the global consciousness by the brutes’ own cell phones.

Nearly eight months of incessant bombing by the air forces of nations that account for 70 percent of the world’s weapons spending, all culminating in the gang-bang slaughter of Moammar Gaddafi, his son Mutassim and his military chief of staff, outside Sirte. The NATO-armed bands then displayed the battered corpses for days in Misurata – the city that had earlier made good on its vow to “purge Black skin” through the massacre and dispersal of 30,000 darker residents of nearby Tawurgha – before disposing of the bodies in an unknown location.
