The republicans debate, and Aruba strikes again.

"I firmly believe that race riots are on the way," .... "They are being encouraged...[the Obama administration] will take this country down. If it looks like they are losing, the uber left, they will take it down. If I can't have it, no one will."

Oh my! Talk about wishful thinking. That was a very popular wingnut personality giving his dire warning about where A-merry-ca is heading. Let's follow their logic: They are sure that Obama will lose the next election, therefore, we can all assume, that race "riots are indeed on the way." As a member of the "uber left", let me be the first to say that that's not a good look for A-merry-ca.

And if Obama is going to lose the next election, one of the people on the stage debating to become the republiclown candidate for president is going to more than likely replace him. (I know that Governor Big Hair will announce soon)
I am trying to watch it, but it's hard. Newt, Herman,Mitt,Michele, Ron....Honestly, I would rather watch reruns of Baywatch Nights. Ron Paul is actually making the most sense, that ought to tell you something.

Anyway, as is to be expected, it looks like they are going after O hard. Hey this is politics, it's blood sport, they have to do and say what they have to in order to get elected.

O, on the other hand, says that he is fed up with the way politics is being conducted here in A-merry-ca.

 "..They look at what's happening in Washington and they think these folks are really from outer space because they don't seem to understand how critical it is for us all to work together, Republicans, Democrats, independents, in order to move this country forward," ..." the country is realizing the need to get involved.

"We're going to have to get engaged and we're going to have to speak out,"...  "We're going to have to register the fact that we expect more and we expect better." [Source]

Hmmm, doesn't sound like a man who wants a race war to me. Sounds like a man who wants to hold hands and sing Kumbaya with the wingnuts. Good luck with that.

"Unfortunately what we've seen in Washington in the last few months has been the worst kind of partisanship, the worst kind of gridlock, and that gridlock has undermined public confidence and impeded our efforts to take the steps we need for our economy,"

Mr. Obama is such a gentleman. Unfortunately for him, gentlemen don't win elections. Not when unemployment is hanging around the 9% mark and people want to work. Not when A-merry-ca is involved with three wars and folks are hearing about soldiers being killed on the evening news.

.....The debate is still going on and Herman Cain is making a fool of himself while he talks about Mitt Romney's religion. Mitt, on the other hand, is talking about the ideal home for children being with a mom and a dad, Newt is defending the government's right to give "loyalty oaths", and Michele is defending being submissive to her husband. I swear, these clowns on the right might just snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I guess we can relax people, maybe there will be no race riots after all.

Finally, if you are a white woman here in A-merry-ca and planning a vacation; you might want to stay away from Aruba. Seems that just five years after Natalee Holloway, yet another woman has gone missing on that island paradise.

Ladies, in the future, may I suggest Jamaica? Yes we have Dexter and his "black bamboo", but he will just take your pocket book, not your life.








 

The Dow drops, Amy helps, and Michele is still crazy.

Wall Street, you are killing me! Folks, I might not even finish this post. It all depends on how long it takes a bottle of valium to kick in. Even Mrs. Field is worried, and girlfriend never looks over her 401K statements.

Anywhoo, I know who will be first in line to see The Help this summer: My girl Amy Holmes. Seems girlfriend has found a new gig being the help to a very deranged and racist antagonist. But there will be no acrimony from me towards Amy tonight. I wish girlfriend all the best. Times are hard out here and folks have to get their eat on. Good for Glenn Beckkk. He found his own version of Obama. Like O, one of Amy's parents is a black African and one is a white A-merry-can. Unlike O, however, she was not born in this country; Amy was born in Africa. But I am sure that Glenn will pick her brain to learn more about Obama. She will be a valuable asset come 2012.

I see that Jon Stewart has come out and ripped Newsweek for their latest issue with Michele Bachmann on the cover.[See pic with this post] They have been taking a lot of heat for it. Apparently folks say it makes her look crazy. Ahhhhm, excuse me, she is crazy. Was the photo of her doctored? The answer is no. I think it does a wonderful job of capturing who Mrs. Bachmann really is. So Jon, take a chill pill and go back to fighting the clowns over at FOX.  Sometimes you can be a bit too voluble for your own good.

Besides, it's not even about the Newsweek cover; it's more about what was revealed in the actual article:

Lee by J. Steven Wilkins. Wilkins is a revisionist historian that seeks to downplay or even glorify the Souths’ tradition of slavery. From the book:

Slavery, as it operated in the pervasively Christian society which was the old South, was not an adversarial relationship founded upon racial animosity. In fact, it bred on the whole, not contempt, but, over time, mutual respect. This produced a mutual esteem of the sort that always results when men give themselves to a common cause. The credit for this startling reality must go to the Christian faith. . . The unity and companionship that existed between the races in the South prior to the war was the fruit of a common faith.

OK, so Justin Rosario was a little harsh, but I get the point.

Hmmm, maybe Ms. Bachmann wasn't so glad that the "Founding Fathers" ended slavery after all.

Finally, good for Lucy Nobbe. Ms. Nobbe dropped $900 to fly a banner over Wall Street to let the bums in New York and Washington know how the rest of us feel about their shenanigans.

Ms. Nobbe, your actions had Field Negro written all over it.

"Catch a fire".

I would like to thank the nine members of the Federal Reserve Board who voted to keep interest rates low until 2013. (The three of you who voted no can take a very long hike.) The markets reacted accordingly. Maybe I won't take that plunge into the Delaware River off the Ben Franklin Bridge after all. Of course this is not good news for the wingnuts, because, in their hearts, they want the markets to tank. It's not a nice thing to say but it's real talk and you all know it.

Now to these riots in London. I hope that we are learning a lesson from what is taking place across the pond. These crazies seem to be in a Dionysian and frenzied state as they loot and burn everything in sight. And why? Too many unemployed young people on the outside looking in? Too much frustration with a system that seems stacked against them? Or is it just too many criminals masquerading as normal citizens who were waiting for their chance to act on their malevolent impulses?

It started off, -as so many of these riots tend to-as a perceived injustice done to someone who was powerless by someone in authority. That was the flash point, the excuse, and it was all the folks who make up the poor and the underclass in London needed to get started.

So is it coming here? Well, folks like Glenn Beckkk and Rush Limpboy certainly think so. In fact, Rush said the rioters are the same as Obama voters.

"Rush warns that the unruly crowds in London are “the equivalent of Obama voters in this country” and as a result, American is “not far from this.” And he’s got the tape to prove it, as an interview with a British rioter explained the motive behind the unrest: “we’re just showing the rich people we can do what we want.” Given that the outspoken protester also blamed conservatives in the government and rich people with businesses, Rush heard everything he needed in order to conclude this sounds just like an Obama voter.

And now with “near race riots” in Wisconsin, Rush predicted “this is what we have in store, we’re on this path.” With London “burning” is Rush right to be vigilant, or merely hyperbolically finding new ways to link Obama to anything bad going on around the world?" 

"Race riots"? No, not yet Rush. And it will be more like class riots. I know that you want to divide the poor and working class people by race, and that has worked for you folks in the past, but I am not so sure it will work this time around.

Back in the sixties when black folks were burning the inner cities of A-merry-ca; white folks had jobs and houses and were quite content while they "pursued happiness." Watching those coloreds riot on the evening news was entertaining, and it was far from their reality. Not anymore. I think that poor and working class white folks are ready to riot right along with us here in A-merry-ca. In case you didn't notice, that is what's happening in England.

But it's not happening here, not yet. Oh we have our flash mobs, but unlike the underlying causes of the London riots, they are not causing havoc in our cities because of some kind of economic frustration, or because they are out demanding justice; they are doing it for fun. And as bad as that might seem to us, it might not be such a bad thing after all, because the moment that they realise that there is nothing funny about their condition, it all could change.

I think that a litte Marley right about now would be quite fitting: *iPod on*

We need more government, not less.

Sorry to post so late tonight folks, but I was actually sitting on the Ben Franklin Bridge and trying to decide if I should jump or not. SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR POINTS? WTF? The sixth worst point drop in Dow history. Thank you tea party. Your political gamesmanship was really good for the country.*sarcasm off* 

"Standard & Poor's downgrade of America's debt couldn't come at a worse time. The result is likely to be higher borrowing costs for the government at all levels, and higher interest on your variable-rate mortgage, your auto loan, your credit card loans, and every other penny you borrow.
Why did S&P do it?

Not because America failed to pay its creditors on time. As you may have noticed, we avoided a default.

And not because we might fail to pay our bills at the end of 2012 if tea-party Republicans again hold the nation hostage when their votes will next be needed to raise the debt ceiling. This is a legitimate worry and might have been grounds for a downgrade, but it's not S&P's rationale.

S&P has downgraded the U.S. because it doesn't think we're on track to reduce the nation's debt enough to satisfy S&P -- and we're not doing it in a way S&P prefers.

Here's what S&P said: "The downgrade reflects our opinion that the fiscal consolidation plan that Congress and the administration recently agreed to falls short of what, in our view, would be necessary to stabilize the government's medium-term debt dynamics." S&P also blames what it considers to be weakened "effectiveness, stability, and predictability" of U.S. policy making and political institutions.

Pardon me for asking, but who gave Standard & Poor's the authority to tell America how much debt it has to shed, and how?

If we pay our bills, we're a good credit risk. If we don't, or aren't likely to, we're a bad credit risk. When, how, and by how much we bring down the long term debt -- or, more accurately, the ratio of debt to GDP -- is none of S&P's business.
S&P's intrusion into American politics is also ironic because, as I pointed out recently, much of our current debt is directly or indirectly due to S&P's failures (along with the failures of the two other major credit-rating agencies -- Fitch and Moody's) to do their jobs before the financial meltdown. Until the eve of the collapse S&P gave triple-A ratings to some of the Street's riskiest packages of mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations." [Story]

Exactly Mr. Reich. Ironic indeed. The very people who are partly responsible for putting us in this mess, now have the nerve to tell us that they are going to have to downgrade our credit rating. That's like a thief coming into your home, stealing your big screen television, and then complaining to you that the picture isn't clear enough. The nerve!

Meanwhile O is still talking about our deficit problem....huh? O, here is a memo from the field: F&^% the deficit problem! We need jobs! Still, if you insist on going down this road, here is how you solve your little deficit problem: Raise taxes, get the f*&^ out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and start talking about putting people to work. We should be spending more not less. How are you going to stimulate job growth if you are cutting three trillion dollars in federal spending? That is lunacy. But it's just what these wingnuts want, to beat our government into submission. It is the fundamental difference between these folks and those of us who are... well... actually sane. We believe that it is our government's job to make society work in a better more efficient manner. The wingnut, on the other hand, sees our government as the enemy. They fail to realize, of course, that they are the government; we all are.

I will leave you with the words of Dick Polman:

"Obama, having weathered the ginned-up debt-ceiling crisis, is again declaring that he wants to "put America back to work," but those words are hollow. He's handcuffed by this deal. He and the Democrats won't have the money to launch any big job-creation programs even if they muster the will to try.

Of course, that's precisely what the Republicans intended - to starve the government. Most Americans probably don't agree with that strategy, but since when do they have a say? Polls suggest they just want to get back to work, by any means possible. A distant third, at 16 percent, was "federal budget deficit/debt."

Private businesses won't hire, because they're still playing it safe. There's a myth going around - brought to you by the same people who deny climate change - that the 2009 stimulus was a failure. Congressional Budget Office and Commerce Department figures say otherwise; the stimulus plan saved millions of jobs and would have created more had it been bigger."

Passion on the right but none on the left.

Before I start this post, I would like to take a moment to think about the thousands of children who have died in Somalia due to the turmoil that has rocked that region.............................

Let's keep those poor children in our thoughts.

Now unfortunately, here in A-merry-ca, gun violence has once again caused unspeakable horror to hit a small community:

"COPLEY, Ohio — A man apparently angry with his girlfriend gunned down two people outside an Ohio home and two more in a car Sunday morning, then shot the girlfriend in a rampage that left eight dead including the gunman, who was shot by police, authorities and witnesses said.

Two others were wounded, police said. A child was among those shot, witnesses said, though police wouldn’t confirm that. Investigators were trying to piece together what happened at four crime scenes, Copley police Chief Michael Mier said.

A neighbor, Gilbert Elie, said he was getting ready for church when he heard gunshots and cries for help in his northeast Ohio neighborhood, a wooded, residential area outside Akron. He went to a house across the street and said he found a shocking scene: the woman who lived there lying in the driveway, her husband shot near the garage, and their young granddaughter and another woman sho t in the front seat of a vehicle, the windows apparently blown out by gunfire.

A third woman came out of the house next door and tried to talk to Elie, he said, but their brief exchange ended abruptly when a man followed her out of the house and shot her, sending the 75-year-old Elie running for safety behind a truck.

“She was talking to me, and he come up behind her and shot her, so I figured, maybe I’m next,” he told The Associated Press.
He hid until he could see the gunman was gone, then returned home. Police arrived, and Elie said he heard a second round of shots coming from behind the houses and assumed officers had killed the gunman." [Story]

It seems that I do one of these stories at least once a month. I am sure that I will be doing another one again really soon.

Finally, over at The Root, someone wants to know if the left has lost its passion:

"...The Tea Party's remarkable victory reminds us that a radical splinter group can seize control of the issues and impose its will by threatening to wreck the system if it does not get its way.

That is a lesson that the left used to know back in the days of the civil rights and anti-Vietnam War movements but seems to have forgotten since the presidential election of Barack Obama. The old distinction once drawn between mass social movements and political campaigns was lost in the emotional fervor aroused by the triumph of the first African-American president.

A lot of us acted as though Obama's election was an end in itself, rather than a means to accomplishing the change that his candidacy promised. But the election was never really about just getting Obama elected. It was about our ability to compel the new president and the Democratic majority in both houses of Congress to respond to our needs and our demands.

To do that, we still needed a movement, separate and apart from the president's political apparatus, that could support him when he did the right thing and pressure him when he didn't. As evangelical activist Jim Wallis recently wrote, "it was the robust activism of those independent progressive movements of the past that created the space for major reforms and made other presidencies memorable. That's because social change does not ultimately rest on who is in the White House, but a movement outside of Washington, D.C., that makes fundamental reforms possible." [Full article]

Yes, a movement "outside of Washington", indeed. But where will it come from?
Starting a movement these days requires money. The tea party clowns had lots of it. They were bought and paid for by wealthy folks who bankrolled all types of front groups. Their passion was manufactured and it was made easier to do so because of the color arousal (thanks for that word, Francis) that gripped most of the folks who rode with them. (See those people* in the picture? Most of them probably lost their jobs under George Bush.)

There is no passion on the left because the propagandist on the right have done a damn good job of selling their snake oil to you A-merry-cans. "We are all in this together. We are A-merry-cans first, and we will not let those lefties take us down a path to Socialism."Yeah right. Even the so called progressives in this country still align themselves with one politrickster or another. But it's the same old run around. It just feel a little better because the guy screwing you happened to buy you a drink, first.   

But this could all change soon. As the wealth gap widens and folks start to see that they have been played, maybe the passion will come back. Politricksters in both political parties care about only one thing: staying in power. And they will do whatever it takes to keep going back to Washington. Hopefully a time will come in this country when the rest of us will start doing everything in our powers to make sure that they don't. Or, better yet, even if they do get to Washington; what they do when they get there wont even matter.

Let us pray for good credit.

So A-merry-ca's credit rating took a hit from one of the three major agencies that does these types of things. Now she probably knows how so much of her citizens feel. And let's go ahead and tell the joke now, because I know that it's out there; it's just that you white folks can't say it around us: " We should have known that our credit was going to get f^%$#d up when we put a black man in charge. You know they don't know how to handle money." It's a joke, but in many ways it's quite serious. It goes to the mindset of many of the tea party folks, who, all of a sudden, decided (after eight years of George Bush) that spending large sums of money unchecked wasn't such a good thing. Why now?

Thank goodness the A-merry-can people haven't totally lost their minds. There is evidence out there that would tend to suggest that they know exactly who is to blame for the mess that we are in. I will give you a hint: it ain't the tall skinny guy with the Muslim sounding name.

"Father, our heart breaks for America," Perry said in 12 minutes of remarks that included prayer and Bible passages — but no direct mention of politics or his presidential plans. "We see discord at home. We see fear in the marketplace. We see anger in the halls of government and, as a nation, we have forgotten who made us, who protects us, who blesses us."

That wasn't a Muslim prayer, that was Governor Big Hair sending one up to the big gal on what is being styled as a National Day of Prayer. He even prayed for the president. How nice. Folks held hands and formed prayer circles while they wept. It was a sincere outreach to the gal up above.

"And Perry, himself, huddled on the stage in a prayer circle with several ministers who helped lead the event. It was Perry's idea and was financed by the American Family Association, a Tupelo, Miss.-based group that opposes abortion and gay rights and believes that the First Amendment freedom of religion applies only to Christians......

'We feel that God moved on him to do this'. It will be read by the enemy, the political enemy, as a tool to win votes,'said Gwen Courkamp of Houston, who plans to vote for Perry if he runs for president." [Source]

Of course "God moved on him" to do it. He needs someone to fight off those Socialist devils and heathens who are so prevalent in our society. All I can say is let us pray.... 



 



   

Where are your white friends Mr. President?

Black journalist from all over these divided states are in my town for the NABJ Convention. I would have attended but I am not a journalist. A couple of you folks gave the field a holla ( it must be the back of my head) while grubbing in the Reading Terminal. (You black folks sure love to eat) Folks did look like they were having a good time and handling their business, so it was all good.

Anywhoo, as is always the case with black folks, it seems that there is a bit of controversy surrounding the conference. Apparently some of you "real" journalist didn't like the fact that the permed one got the gig on MSNBC and you wrote about it. Well, unfortunately, the good Rev. got all sensitive and cried crabs. I am not mad at Jeff Winbush, he was merely saying how he felt and expressing a sentiment that I know that a lot of you real journalist are feeling but -some of you- are too afraid to say. (You never know when you might need the permed one. He does have a lot of powerful friends.) Black folks! *shaking head*

Finally, I wonder how many of the black journalist in town were talking about how FOX Nation dissed their boy? And black people wonder why O tries to stay away from them. As soon as he wants to let his hair down and let his black side flow, you white folks on the right call him on it.

Below the headline were photos of Mr. Obama and, separately, three black celebrities who attended the party, the basketball player Charles Barkley, the comedian Chris Rock and the rapper Jay-Z.
Not pictured were any attendees of other racial backgrounds, like the actor Tom Hanks or Mayor Rahm Emanuel of Chicago.

The article, published Friday morning, generated more than 2,000 comments and substantial objections from people who found it to be inaccurate at best and racist at worst. Media Matters for America, a progressive group that campaigns against Fox, asserted that the article was part of a pattern of “race-baiting headlines and content” on the Web site.

No reporter or editor’s name was attached to the “hip-hop BBQ” article. Through a spokeswoman, Bill Shine, the executive vice president for programming at Fox News, declined to say whether the article adhered to the site’s standards.
The “didn’t create jobs” comment in the Fox headline most likely was a reference to the White House press secretary Jay Carney’s statement earlier this week that “the White House doesn’t create jobs.” Mr. Carney said the White House declined to comment on the Fox article.

The Fox Nation, an offshoot of the main Fox News site, exists mostly to elicit comments from users and link to news sources. The “hip-hop BBQ” article contained no original reporting; rather, it contained excerpts from several accounts of Mr. Obama’s party, including Politico’s, which listed the attendees and noted that the party included jazz and R&B performances and a D.J.’s hip-hop music.

“The president asked everyone to dance — and they did!” read the Politico account. The menu included barbecue chicken, ribs, hot dogs and salad.
Mr. Shine said in a statement, “We used the hip-hop reference per Politico’s Playbook story this morning which stated ‘Also present: Chicago pals, law-school friends, donors — and lots of kids of friends, who stole the show by doing dance routines to the hip-hop songs, in the center of the East Room.’ ” [Source] 

Hmmm, no mention of watermelons? I guess we will have to wait for FOX & Friends for that one.


 

The Dow drops, and thugs in Philly try to drop some passengers on a bus.

I tried calling my broker twice today but the son of a b&^%% wont return my call. I guess he has been a bit busy of late. 512 POINTS?!! WTF?!!

I am looking over my financial statement and my investments are allocated with Fidelity Freedom. I am loaded up on Vanguard and Harbor Capital with my U.S. Stock Funds. With Dodge & Cox and European Pacific Growth Fund with my international stocks, and none of it makes a damn bit of difference because they are all sinking fast. And you know who I blame for this? You stinking wingnuts! Spooking the markets by putting a gun to our heads,daring us to blink, and screaming that the sky is falling. This is all on you. But I am sure that this is just how you wanted it. If the markets are down, birthday boy looks bad, and his presidency goes bye bye. Nice.

Still, unlike a lot of other investors, I am not going to panic. I am going to ride this thing out. I have done it before. I trust my portfolio....for now.

Anyway, enough about money. Now for some more serious stuff.

I will set it all up for you: Woman is on a bus with her toddler. She starts beating the little rugrat and a passenger in the bus ( a young black male) decides to intervene and tell her that she should check herself and the way she goes about handling her business. Girlfriend takes offense, gets on her cell phone, and calls her crew to meet her at the bus stop.

I wish I could comment some more on this story, but you all know the drill; for reasons beyond my control I just can't. *chomping at the bit*

He just didn't want to be Br'er Rabbit, that's all.

That was a wingnut republiclown politician (they sure love that word) allowing his color arousal (thanks for that word, Francis) to kick in....publicly. If it's one thing that some folks in A-merry-ca hate it is for their "color arousal" to kick in publicly.

Poor O, so now he is a "tar-baby". Lord have mercy, can you imagine if he was one of us full blooded Negroes? (The man's mama is white and he is still a "Tar Baby"!) What's blacker than tar? Oil baby, maybe?

Let me stop, this isn't funny. And I know I know, the PC police should just leave the poor man alone, because we all know that he is not a racist. How could he be? Isn't he an elected politician in our great republic?

OK, so let's say, for argument sake, that he is not. Couldn't he be more sensitive about his choice of words given the fact that we do happen to have a president who is closer to tar than cement, and we know that some of us sensitive Negroes--- and whites with a conscience---- might be offended? I think he is a college educated man with some  smarts, you would think he would know better.

But sometimes, you know, you just can't hold in your true feelings anymore. Sometimes you just want to say f&^% all of this PC stuff and let it rip. Watch, one of these wingnuts will call O a nigger soon and he will quickly apologize (kind of like Mr.Lamborn is doing now) and chalk it up to a bad night's sleep.

 "Lamborn was attempting to tell a radio audience last week that the president's policies have created an economic quagmire for the nation and are responsible for the dismal economic conditions our country faces," said the statement from Lamborn's office.

"He regrets that he chose the phrase 'tar baby,' rather than the word 'quagmire.' The congressman is confident that the president will accept his heartfelt apology."

Of course he will. That Obama guy is such a gentleman. He always takes the high road.

Anywhoo, Mr. Lamborn is not alone; it seems that someone else allowed his color arousal to kick in on national television:

"If Lamborn’s comments have created a bit of a political morass, MSNBC political analyst Pat Buchanan also found himself in a sticky political situation about race.

Buchanan appeared on his cable network’s “Morning Joe,” program Wednesday to explain his remarks the night before when he referred to Obama as “your boy” during a discussion with the Rev. Al Sharpton.

The pair, an opposite sides of the ideological road, were discussing Obama's actions when Buchanan, a conservative who has tried to win the GOP’s presidential nomination, told Sharpton that “your boy,” Obama, had caved during negotiations.

“My what?” Sharpton asked. “My president, Barack Obama? What did you say?”

Buchanan, using a boxing analogy, replied that Obama was “your boy in the ring.”

“He's nobody's boy,” Sharpton said. “He's your president, he's my president, and that's what you have to get through your head.”

Buchanan took note on Wednesday.

“Some folks took what I said as some kind of a slur,” Buchanan said. “None was meant, none was intended, none was delivered.” [Article]

"Both parties share power in Washington, and both parties need to take responsibility for improving this economy. It's not a Democratic responsibility or a Republican responsibility; it is our collective responsibility as Americans."

That was part of O's speech today while he put his pen to the tea party powered debt ceiling bill that will have A-merry-ca on her knees within a few years.--- If she isn't there already. The Dow dropped over 200 points today, and we are under that 12,000.00 mark again. It's time to check your 401k's people. If you are working in hopes of collecting a pension one day keep your fingers crossed. It just might not be there. 

Yes O, people need jobs, but big business is not hiring because they are not confident that their companies will be able to prosper in this environment. (Or so they say.) Who is going to spend money with these businesses if people don't have jobs? Oh my, what a Catch 22 situation we have here in A-merry-ca.
No wonder we A-merry-cans feel so bad about our future. "It's those evil Chinese." No it's not. It's  those evil A-merry-can corporations shipping jobs oversees and paying slave labor wages to foreign workers. A-merry-can factories are shutting down in record numbers because the fat cats who run these corporations can afford to do that.

Meanwhile, the really rich folks here in A-merry-ca just keep getting richer. The top 1% of  folks with loot here in A-merry-ca control about 40% of the wealth. They used to control about 10%, but thanks to their new found influence and power in Washington that has changed. They would also like to thank you dopes who will never have anything even close to the amount of wealth that they have for fighting so hard on their behalf and against your own best interest. (Please watch this wonderful little video and you will learn what I have been trying to tell you in about 2 minutes. It's side- bar worthy.) It always helps to have a lot of stupid people in your corner.

"It means spending less on defense programs. ... And it means taking on the tax code, and cutting out certain tax breaks and deductions for the wealthiest Americans."

Yeah right! O, I think there is a Mr. Koch on line one for you. He says that you don't have to take his call. Your black ass will be gone soon and he will put someone on Pennsylvania Avenue who will.

We are all tea party hostages.

This debt ceiling bill is bull s&^t! And it was a phony issue created by wingnuts and the tea party crowd to slash benefits and the safety net for the folks who need it most here in A-merry-ca. Congress has never failed to vote for raising the debt ceiling before, but these are strange times here in A-merry-ca. People can't find work, people who have wealth are just sitting on it and are not investing, and our government is so dysfunctional that their approval rating is lower than that of a convicted pedophile.

I love how Katrina vanden Heuvel summed it all up:

"In the melodrama that is consuming Washington this hot summer, featuring the spectacle of how much Tea Party Republicans will be able to extort for agreeing not to blow up the economy, the values and priorities of most Americans were early casualties. That reality will drive — no matter what the resolution this week — new, independent citizen mobilizations challenging both Republican zealotry and Democratic cravenness.

The debt-ceiling debate has lasted long enough for most Americans to start paying attention and to realize just how divorced both parties are from basic common sense. With the economy faltering and 25 million people in need of full-time work, most Americans want Washington focused on how to create jobs and get the economy going, not on slashing spending for the rising number of poor children while sheltering tax havens for millionaires.

Equally inexplicable is the president’s apparent eagerness to negotiate with a legislative faction willing to hold the entire economy hostage — and one prepared to extort concessions in backroom deals that it could not achieve in any normal legislative process. Negotiating with fiscal terrorists only encourages them.
On National Public Radio last week, Rep. Tom Cole, a Republican deputy whip, was giddy about the potential for calamity. Asked if it was a mistake to try to cut spending by threatening the U.S. economy, Cole replied: “No, I don’t think so. Frankly, I think it’s one of the good things that’s come out of this. We’ll never have a debt-ceiling increase again without serious efforts to deal with the long-term spending.”

Whatever the terms of the eventual agreement, we know they will be remarkably cruel. As Robert Greenstein, the respected director of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, noted last week that every plan on the table now is far worse — cutting more from programs for the poor, exacting pain on the most vulnerable in our society — than anything Jim DeMint, the most extreme right-wing senator of all, was demanding last year." O, this is not change that I can believe in. I understand that there is a degree of politics involved here, so you had to kick the can down the road after 2012. But did you have to let the wingnuts pick the can to kick, the shoes you will use to kick it, and which one of your feet you will kick it with? No wonder your base is fit to be tied and the leader of the CBC is calling this proposed debt ceiling bill a "Satan Sandwich". (Tea party sandwich, "Satan sandwich, what's the difference?)

Finally, if you happen to be a black man in A-merry-ca, you just might want to start putting your money under the mattress. Why? Because your black ass just might end up in jail for putting your own money in the bank.
